When I first read Debbie Lynn's book, Revival (first in the Unveiled series) I noticed immediately her very specific use of the words "mage" and "magician", but she got it backwards. In her books, magicians are people with an innate ability to use magic and mages were those who had to study and work at using magic. Turns out, thanks to popular representations of magicians in society, most of us reading the book make this same mistake. If you actually look up the definitions of those words, however, Debbie Lynn is 100% correct in her usage. This is one of the many ways these books are incredible reads.
