Debbie Lynn's novel, Revival, has what could best be described as a surprisingly appropriate ending. Specifically it has to do with how a deity character behaves in relation to what's going on. She has a limited interest, more like mild amusement, but the stakes clearly mean nothing to her. Which makes sense because she's an immortal goddess and really couldn't care less about a conflict between mortals.
