What Dreams May Come is not what you would call an enjoyable movie in the traditional sense. Especially if you're a millennial and grew up watching Robin Williams in movies like Aladdin or Mrs. Doubtfire, What Dreams May Come will be quite jarring for you at best. That being said, it's a very good film that fearlessly and unapologetically deals with very tough subjects and is still visually stunning even thought it was made way back in 1998. Robin Williams gives one of his most heart-wrenching performances as a man who dies tragically, leaving behind the love of his life. When she takes her own life, he travels literally to Hell and back to save her soul. Much of the imagery is taken from Dante's Inferno and the movie delivers several emotional gut punches along the way. What Dreams May Come is not for the faint of heart, but it's definitely worth watching. But if you suffer from depression or even if you're just feeling a little down, we recommend waiting to watch this one until you're feeling a little bit better.
