This is a very valuable #shorts video because Eric was making a valid point, but also fell into an all too common pitfall with the word "slave" and the context of #slavery in general. Many, many people with good intentions seek to expound upon the context of #history and this is a fantastic thing, but the problem comes when we don't consider the more specific nature of the history of the place we inhabit. In #america the word slavery conjures a much different image than slavery in say, China or even the middle east. Slavery is ingrained in the history of America and if we forget that it can lead us down some very awkward places. Such as directly comparing slavery to indentured servitude.
