Dragon Ball Super Super Hero was a very atypical entry into the Dragonball franchise. Given that Goku wasn't the central protagonist, it's surprising how good of a movie it actually was. A large part of this is how the new characters of Gamma 1 and 2 were well written and likeable. The story also had stakes given that Gamma 2 stays dead after sacrificing himself to defeat Cell Max.
