Animal Farm is a very eye-opening book and an underrated novel. Of its many themes, the story includes several instances of the laws Animal Farm being changed, and then the population being gaslit into believing the rules were written that way all along. Those animals that can't read (which is most of them) are particularly susceptible to this trick. This is very reminiscent to how politicians like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris change their stories based upon who they're talking to or where they are during an election cycle. They will do this and then go on to lie about what they said before, as thought video cameras, cell phones, YouTube and other social media aren't a thing.
