J. Johan Jameson gets a bad reputation amongst many Spider-Man fans, but many times in the comics and even some of the movies, Jameson has put himself in harm's way many times to protect other people. In Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie, the Green Goblin attacks the Daily Bugle looking for the Spider-Man photographer. Instead of selling out Peter Parker, Jameson lies to protect his identity while Goblin has his hand around Jameson's throat.
