Hardcore #powerrangers fans know, but many casual fans may not, that the #whiteranger from the original japanese series wasn't supposed to be with the same rangers from the #mightymorphinpowerranger cast. In the original Japanese series #zyuranger the #greenranger was the older brother of the #redranger and dies a little later on in the series. With the popularity of #tommyoliver Saban wanted to keep Tommy in the show, but they had run out of Green Ranger footage. So, since they wanted to use footage of the Thunder Zords anyway, they took footage of the White Ranger from the same series and made Tommy Oliver the White Ranger.
