Does anyone else think Captain Kirk is simply in desperate need of some time alone? It seems like Dr. McCoy might have been hinting at a specific lack of recreation affecting the captain's judgment. When the logic of the mission is pushed aside, is it possible that the real issue behind the decision to enter Romulan space is nothing more than a need for relief? Maybe it is time for someone to suggest he is unfit for duty simply because he needs five minutes to himself.
