[00:00:00] Hello everyone, and welcome to today's Average Intelligence News. he's the longest serving Senate leader in United States history. So fun fact for you, or for trivia night at the bar, now you know. This is likely in response to, for those of you who don't remember, it happened somewhat recently. He had a couple of blank out moments while he was talking to the press. And then I know he had some medical issues, including a fall,

[00:01:42] I think in 2023, or no, I'm sorry, in 2022, which became a concern later in 2023.

[00:02:43] about Fonny Willis Nathan Wade relationship were quote, speculation.

[00:02:45] This was supposed to be bombshell testimony today,

[00:02:47] but attorney, parents Bradley,

[00:02:50] a former friend and business partner of Nathan Wade

[00:02:52] testified today that his, I'm sorry,

[00:02:54] testified Tuesday, yesterday,

[00:02:57] said that his previous statements on the stand

[00:03:01] regarding the beginning of the Willis-Wade relationship

[00:03:04] was quote, speculation.

[00:04:05] Well, apart from, so what this really comes down to,

[00:04:07] and this is a very, very partisan case, and I'm not surprised that it is,

[00:04:09] but what it really comes down to is,

[00:04:11] and I'll get into the actual figures later.

[00:04:14] So the problem here is if Willis and Wade

[00:04:18] were in a relationship prior to him being hired,

[00:04:20] and keep in mind, this guy has been paid

[00:04:24] over half a million dollars at this point. And there were some bombshell and left leaning news media, you know, and I dismissed this, but the Trump defense team had gotten a hold of some phone records from Nathan Wade's cell phone, showing a lot of evidence that flies directly in the face of what they said on the stand.

[00:05:40] So we're looking at potential perjury here.

[00:05:43] And as far as some, you though, and we'll touch on this a bit more in a moment, even though he was on paper, not really qualified for this particular case and the role he was playing, and is being paid an exorbitant amount of money to basically make trips together and,

[00:07:02] or possibly funnel money to one another. Another attorney on the team, John Floyd, who does have experience with state racketeering law, was only being paid $150 an hour. Just some food for thought. In our third headline, Bitcoin surges above $64,000 for the first time since November 2021.

[00:08:21] Good news for all the crypto bros out there. Now we knew that a halving was coming in 2024. So that part is not a surprise but it's interesting how this is all coinciding although I would say that the renewed interest is probably the Economy doing slightly better and the fact that everybody knows that the halving is coming up But I am NOT an expert when it comes to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency

[00:09:42] But that all makes sense to me. So good for Bitcoin

[00:10:43] headline Supreme Court agrees to hear Trump's presidential immunity claim.

[00:10:48] Let's see the US Supreme Court has agreed to review whether former President Donald Trump has immunity for prosecution in the special counsel's federal election interference case,

[00:10:52] which I believe that would be the DC case, an election year dispute that will have blockbuster

[00:10:58] legal and political implications for the nation's, the justices fast track the appeal and will hear

[00:11:04] oral arguments in late April with a ruling on merits expected by late June. Trump's criminal states that the president's political opponents will seek to influence and control his or her decisions via effective extortion or blackmail with the threat explicit or implicit of indictment by a future hostile administration for acts that do TV again. Hang on. Sorry, I forgot. Oh, fun. Okay, so MSMB, this will be interesting. So it's basically the same. Supreme Court to hear Trump's immunity claim in April, further delaying January 6th trial. Interesting difference in the

[00:13:41] headline. Let's see. Let's see. The The case has been on hold since Trump launched a free trial immunity appeal. He asked the Supreme Court to keep the case from going back to U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkin for trial while he continues to appeal the DC Circuit ruling.

[00:15:01] Trump, of course, wants to push back the loved to have read an article regarding the Fonny Willis case there. That would have been fun, but I will leave you with that.
