[00:00:51] I'm just doing our obligatory audio check and we're good. Like I said welcome to down the middle today as you can read in the description

[00:01:02] and we are going to do Tony Con a favor. And we're going to take a look at the AEW Roster and see who can go, who should stay and maybe who should go on an excursion. But before we do that I have a very special announcement.

[00:01:52] So let's take a gander shall we? And this would be an Indianapolis. Let's just see how many. How many seats are available and what they're going for. Oh wait, no, this is the wind trust arena. Where is this? Do you know where the wind trust arena is?

[00:02:26] Oh Chicago Illinois. First Chicago basically not there still tickets available on the floor man. In Chicago. And they're on if you want floor seats to AEW, if you want ring side seats. There anywhere from 99 to 225 and really there they're all verified resale tickets.

[00:03:15] Yes. Oh, they had a bunch of people. Just drive all of the all of these are verified resale tickets. Oh, there.

[00:03:27] In the upper sections too. Oh no, in the other sections, summer standard image. Yeah, so apparently they just had a bunch of people be like, no, I'm good. And this is like, have you brought them maybe like a precell or something like that and then like, yeah.

[00:03:45] Well, and I will say I can't I I've got to be honest. I had tickets for raw. I ended up selling those tickets because when I bought them.

[00:03:55] I had somebody that I was planning to go with and I ended up having to do a podcast that night. So unfortunately, I had to miss for all but it's a real pain in the ass to sell tickets back on ticket master.

[00:04:09] But yeah, I thought that was really funny. Kind of proves my point a little bit. But yeah, so if you want to see AEW in Chicago, there are still tickets available. So you're welcome Tony. Anyway, Jacob thought too. The rumors are true.

[00:04:26] I figured it was going to happen. How about you? No, to be honest, I didn't.

[00:04:33] I'll be real. There was a point where I thought it was inevitable and then when I believe it. Yeah, it was actually when the grill is a destiny debut. I was like, oh, well, I guess they're holding off or not going with Jacob Fattu. Yeah.

[00:04:48] But and then low and behold, Jacob Fattu shows up and looks. I mean, he looks meriting ever seen before. Yeah, but I mean, also just.

[00:05:07] And I tried out the comment on work, but just based on what I was watching, he looked like he was beaten a living shit out of people. Oh, yeah. It looked legit. It looked legit. Did you see the Simone drop on the steps? Yeah. That.

[00:05:28] That looked extra. I'm sure it was painful, but I mean, we know they're working. So we know of like, It looked legitimate. I'll put it that way. Yeah. And that spear for a branding. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was. That looked rough. Even the splash onto the table looked.

[00:05:47] I mean, oh, yeah. That was Cody, I believe, right? He splashed onto Cody. Yeah. I was just like, wow. That was on SmackDown. Correct me. If I'm wrong. Yeah. Okay. I thought so. Um, yeah. So Jacob Fattu is in WWE and I'm telling you man, the bloodline stuff.

[00:06:08] Just when you think it couldn't get any better. It's getting better. Did you see the segment? I believe that was from Raw with Paul Hayman and Punk. Yes. Yeah. I saw that. Not to sound like Vince Russo, but Oh.

[00:06:27] I was glued to my television set for every second of it and Paul take me with you as only Paul Hayman can do. Yeah. I mean, and I find it so funny because I said this one punk was in a W, the promo he had with M.J.

[00:06:47] 27 minutes segment. And I couldn't not watch it. I could not miss that. I couldn't wait for a replay in my mind, like I had to watch it live. It was must see television and they talked for 27 minutes. Did there be a scene that won't? It did.

[00:07:07] It felt like five, honestly. When they said when they said it was a 27 minute segment, I was like, really? It felt so short and embarrassing. So good though. Anything else? No, they said his name and he appeared in NXT, but he did appear.

[00:07:28] Joe Henry, and I guess Franky Kisering was there as well. They appeared at, I forget what it was. Stand and deliver. And NXT. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know was a takeover. I know they don't call him takeovers anymore, but. Yeah.

[00:07:48] And I got to say I'm a little surprised how fast he was eliminated, considering who he is. But I'm guessing it's leading to more appearances because of the, well, because of the backstage segment he did with Shawn Michaels. Yeah.

[00:08:07] And Joe Henry, like, so we respected for a while that while there may not be a direct relationship between TNA and WWE, they're at least on friendly terms. That was pretty obvious when they let Mickey James come out with a knockout title at the Royal

[00:08:24] Rumble and then did the same thing with Jordan Grace. Now looking at Joe and TNA understands, I don't know what they changed, but based on what I've seen, they understand what they need to do and who they are. They just need to grow the fan base again.

[00:08:41] And part of that though is sending people. And I don't mean this in a bad way, but I can't think of another way to say it. Sending people that are bigger than TNA, that are in TNA to other places. Okay. Yeah. It's not knockout.

[00:08:57] It's the actual truth, you know? It's a realistic, I guess. So whoever's making these decisions, I love it. That's where your nickname is certain. It would not be shocked if we saw Nick Nemeth, not Dolph Ziggler.

[00:09:12] If we saw Nick Nemeth show up in WWE for a spot of parents, which I might be wrong, but I am under the impression that he is not signed to a contract in TNA. He's appearing there. I think so too.

[00:09:26] I don't think he's actually signed there because he's saying he wants to go into different places. Yeah. Yeah. I honestly think he's going to sell there for a little bit, but I don't think he's going to stay there.

[00:09:39] Well, what I'm what I'm loving about some of the things I'm seeing is an Allen mid, Alfred Lee and mid, particularly in my wrestling fandom age, I'm too young to have lived through the territory days.

[00:09:53] But this seems kind of, we're seeing a lot of stuff that kind of feels like not to the same degree. Yeah. It's kind of feeling like, was certain talents. It's like old school in WWE where there was a lot of different territories,

[00:10:08] but they were all under kind of a loosely affiliated umbrella. And you would have somebody like the NAWA champion go to Philadelphia on Friday and be an Memphis on Saturday or pick your day. You know what I mean? The venue in the NAWA title.

[00:10:25] And I think that is fantastic. I think it's great. Which speaking of though, we have. I wish I could talk to Tony, just be like Tony. The whole concept of forbidden of the forbidden door is because it's forbidden. It's not common. It's a surprise.

[00:10:53] It's the same thing I said about WWE when they started doing super gimmicky paper views like extreme rules. I'm like, if the whole paper view is extreme rules, then it doesn't have the novelty.

[00:11:08] It's just gimmick matches and likewise forbidden door is forbidden door is what more of the world was with New Japan and Ring of Honor. It's the same thing.

[00:11:19] But they're trying to, but at least Ring of Honor in New Japan were open about the fact that they were partners. So I don't you know, which. I don't know how I feel about it, which by the way I forgot at the outset.

[00:25:00] See, this is hard because Aaron Solo is somebody who I'm not. I'm not been overly impressed with, but I don't think that's his fault. I think that's because he's never on television. Yeah, I actually like his work. I just don't think he's given the opportunity to be in,

[00:25:17] you know, to show it. I'd send him to Ring of Honor. Yeah. Then we've got action and dreading. But he's in top flight apparently. Yeah, he was like, uh, when the guy was hurt, he was his partner for a bit. Well, his 2024 record is zero and eight.

[00:25:40] Um, I'd fire him. He's got a shit name. He's got a shit name. He knows. He fails in the name test hardcore. I'll tell you what, send him to Ring of Honor, changes name. I've given, I've given six months to see what he could do. That's fair enough.

[00:27:02] Because I mean, Adam, he's, he's a proven commodity. They just don't know what to do with them. I see his hurt for a bit. Like he keeps getting hurt. So, oh, no, people. Well, yeah, because they keep, they keep having him do stupid shit. Like,

[00:27:17] but, and speaking of speaking of being injured by doing stupid shit. Yeah. How did they fuck up Adam Copeland? How is that even possible? How do you get Adam Copeland in a fucking program with Willow Nightingale when a mixed tag? And that's supposed to be a main event.

[00:27:39] Nothing against Willow Nightingale, but I mean, she's not up on the card. No. He should be in contention for the world title. Just purely by virtue of who he is. And actually it might be cool with him. Obviously when he's back from injury is,

[00:27:59] you could do an angle, or I shouldn't say an angle. You can do a storyline with him where he's freaked out now because, oh man, you know, this is tough for him. I thought I thought I was going to come here and dominate but all these new,

[00:28:11] and you can put over the new guys by doing this. We like, I was not expecting to get injured. I've given a bit of the gifts. Have him do a run in ring of honor and give some credibility to the ring of honor world title

[00:28:26] and make a legitimate story out of it. Does how cool would that be? Absolutely. Absolutely would. Now part of that would be getting ring of honor on television. If it's still a web series, that's a no go. But ring of honor should ring of honor should have been

[00:28:42] on television immediately after he bought it. Yeah. That's foolish within a couple of months, at least because I know you have to negotiate. That's what I would do. I think that would be really cool. It would bring ring of honor some prestige

[00:28:56] and it would give you like that rocky story that not rocky necessarily. But that, you know, like he lost it and he's got to fight from the bottom because what a run would that be? And then give some legitimacy to the ring of honor title

[00:29:12] which frankly it's lost. It had it at one point. The ring of honor world champion used to be legitimately the bona fide, at least in the conversation of the best wrestler on planet earth. And now because it doesn't have the exposure, now it's just kind of a.

[00:29:29] Oh, here's another one. Paying man page. Sleep is like 50 50 with me. It's like, pardon me like his work but his personality is gimmick. I don't get it too much. I think they let him do too much goofy stuff. Yeah. And they didn't strike when the iron was hot

[00:29:54] because about a year before his AEW world title reign would have been perfect. And he could have been champion for a year minimum. Because he was he was he and he was that storyline. I, so here's the thing with Kenny Omega and the belt collector.

[00:30:11] I liked the gimmick. I hated his acting. I think if he had I think if they had let Don call us talk for him because now he's now he's too good. He did it in New Japan. He had a running gimmick where everyone knew he was

[00:30:27] and he was doing it in Japanese. But once he became leader of the bullet club, he was too good to speak Japanese and it worked. Because he was a heel. And what's the best way to be a heel in Japan? I don't speak the language.

[00:30:39] When they know you can. Yeah. It was great. And then when he did his little like face turn after we won the IW GP title or shortly before that, he he started speaking Japanese again. Funny that. But that even though it was probably a year to late,

[00:31:00] I dug that storyline. I was glued to my TV during that contract. It was the first time in ages. I had actually been like, oh, I got to watch this contract signing because it's going to be a huge issue.

[00:31:12] Usually you know what's going to go on the contract sign. Yeah. Yeah. Now. Yeah. It's going to turn. Yeah. Now. But the promos were great. I was going to say, oh, that's the end. I watched that paper view which I believe was all out. I forget the year.

[00:31:28] So forgive me. But they made it obvious. Hangman was going to win though because they did. They did too much promo and they didn't do anything with Kenny. They made it blatantly obvious who was going to win that match. Which to be fair at that time.

[00:31:45] If hangman didn't win, they had booked him in such a way that if hangman didn't win, he was going to be buried. Yeah. And he would be forever. So hangman is somebody that I would hang on to. But again, we would. I wouldn't send him on and good.

[00:32:02] This need repackaging. Yeah. He needs a repackage. I wouldn't send him on an excursion at all though. I would try to repackage him almost immediately. I would defer to wiser people on how to do that with a television schedule.

[00:32:16] But I would absolutely keep him on a roster if I were in charge. Then we've got Alex Reynolds. Okay, so I'm actually going to I'm going to cheat a little bit here. I think we should just do all of the dark order at once. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:32:40] I'm going to surprise some people. I actually like the dark order as a concept. I didn't even really mind it when they went. Tomty not in the ring when they went. Tomty not behind the scenes because what they became was a

[00:32:55] group of losers and then they became a group of love of losers. And then when Mr. Brody Lee passed, maybe came baby faces and thankfully Tony had the sense to not have them be heels anymore because they had sympathy. They had all the same thing.

[00:33:16] Oh, they well, and I still my my long term story line for this still would be. I said it then and I'll say it again now. I want negative one.

[00:33:26] But this is all assuming that this is what he wants to do right when they get them one turns. I don't know what you can legally 16 17 18 if he wants to send him to wrestling school.

[00:33:39] When he's ready, bring him in and assume his role as leader of the dark order. And then no matter what they've done up to that point, you can make it a heel faction again because the chosen one has the prodigal son

[00:33:55] returns and what could be really fun is let's say you have people like Preston van to or not, at least I don't think he's currently in the dark order. You've been there. Everyone who has been in the dark order that is available and able is back.

[00:34:12] Now I believe I'm not sure how I believe Brody Lee Junior is 12 or 13. So that being at least a few years down the line. Yeah, that'd be a hell of a payoff. That's long storm Tory. That's long term storytelling folks. Yeah. Six years, seven years. Yeah.

[00:34:32] I mean you can do it. A. W. five years old now. So just having the back of your mind have it as an option because obviously if you know, if Brody Lee is his actual name is Brody Lee. Oh no, I'm sorry Brody Lee. Brody Lee Junior.

[00:34:48] They were both never, not was a stupid thing to say. If Brody Lee Junior doesn't want to wrestle obviously that goes out the window, but yeah as of right now he seems like he wants to,

[00:34:58] but Alex Reynolds is somebody where if the dark order is a thing personally, I would keep him if they're doing away with it. Yeah, I don't have to say the same thing. Like he's perfect for the dark order,

[00:35:14] but other than that I don't see him like any other type of dimming on his own. I agree. He's a henchman character and that's not a dig. Yeah, yeah. Then we have in hell of a go. What are you very like? I really like it.

[00:35:33] Okay, so like this is I became a fan of in hell of a go when he was in Luchon. Yeah, yeah. Same here. And he's good. He's different. He's good. I know Jim Cornet hates him, but I don't understand why. Because I like Jack Emmets too now.

[00:35:51] I know Jack Evans was, I know Jack Evans was making some mistakes, but I still like them as a tag team. I did. I would keep them for sure. You just got it. I feel, well, though that's not true. They had him figure it out in Luchon underground.

[00:36:09] Yeah. I would just basically try to emulate that. Be the cool, you know, cool but eccentric. He was kind of, this is going to confuse people. So hold comments to him, ton. He's kind of like RVD in the sense that he was so different from everybody else

[00:36:26] and was just so cool in a different way. He was back. He was late back, but he had a different style in the ring too. Yeah. So not necessarily the same kind of gimmick, but you could make your work and hell, it goes good enough to do that.
