Books to TV to Books

This week we revisit one of the many Goosebumps Spin-Off series, Goosebumps TV Presents, a series of books that adapted episodes of the TV show to books with color photos inside. This series not only unique but has become among some of the rarest and most expensive Goosebumps books in existence. Follow The Goosebumps Crew! [00:02:50] Thank you for your support in advance.

[00:02:52] Join the crew today.

[00:02:54] And yeah, let's talk some Goosebumps.

[00:02:56] So, if you remember when we talked about Goosebumps Series 2000,

[00:03:02] that was episode 15, so that was a while back.

[00:03:05] I started that episode by talking about the distinction between Goosebumps sequel series

[00:03:11] and Goosebumps spinoff series.

[00:03:13] In that episode's case, Series 2000 is the very first sequel series

[00:03:18] to the original Goosebumps run of the original 62.

[00:03:21] But there's also the spinoff section of Goosebumps books.

[00:03:25] These are the series that were going alongside what was the main series at the time,

[00:03:31] whether it be the OG or Series 2000.

[00:03:34] These were sort of the side projects.

[00:03:36] So, you had Give Yourself Goosebumps, Tales to Give You Goosebumps,

[00:03:40] and the subject for today's topic, which is a series of books simply known as

[00:03:45] Goosebumps Presents, or as the community calls it, Goosebumps TV Presents.

[00:03:51] Now, these books are pretty simple overall.

[00:03:54] These are books that are adaptations of the episode adaptations of the original books.

[00:04:00] If you can wrap your head around that, these are books based on TV episodes,

[00:04:04] which are based on books.

[00:04:06] So, it all comes back around full circle.

[00:04:08] But these are essentially novelizations of the individual episodes.

[00:04:12] So, basically, they take the TV episode and they take it and make it into a book.

[00:04:19] So, it's a lot shorter than your typical Goosebumps book.

[00:04:21] And not only that, but it also, as you can, I don't know, oh, it says right here,

[00:04:28] eight pages of full color photos from the original show.

[00:04:32] So, not only are these novelizations of the episodes,

[00:04:35] but if you open the book on the inside, you will see photos from the actual episode.

[00:04:40] Now, it's unknown...

[00:04:41] Which I'm happy about because I can't weed.

[00:04:44] Exactly.

[00:04:45] So, it's unknown why this series was exactly made.

[00:04:52] Well, I shouldn't say it's unknown.

[00:04:53] It's very much because of the popularity of the original TV series.

[00:04:58] But, again, it's very weird to have books based on episodes based on books.

[00:05:04] At that point, you might as well just go read the original book.

[00:05:08] But, as we said, these were books that were coming out alongside the original 62 and Series 2000

[00:05:14] and the TV show.

[00:05:16] So, they were just another thing to add to your Goosebumps collection.

[00:05:19] And this was a relatively short-lived series.

[00:05:22] This series started in 1996 and went until 1998.

[00:05:27] Now, we've brought these books up tons of times in some of our past episodes.

[00:05:32] We, of course, talked about it in our rarest, most expensive Goosebumps books episode.

[00:05:38] We've brought them up a few times when we've done episode retrospectives

[00:05:42] like The Girl Who Cried Monster and Welcome to Cam Nightmare.

[00:05:45] So, we've talked about these a few times,

[00:05:47] but we're going to really get into it and talk about

[00:05:50] what makes these books so unique to the Goosebumps franchise.

[00:05:53] Now, before we really get into the, you know, the knee-deep details,

[00:05:58] what do you guys think of this series?

[00:06:00] Was it always interesting to you guys?

[00:06:03] Well, it was interesting.

[00:06:06] It's not something I really was into when they first came out.

[00:06:12] I was just more into the show and just the original run of books

[00:06:16] because I was kind of thinking the same thing.

[00:06:18] I was like, why are they making books about a TV show about books?

[00:06:23] I was totally confused.

[00:06:24] I just thought it was another version of the book that you just put photos in

[00:06:27] and I didn't want it, which now I totally regret

[00:06:30] given some of the pricing on some of these books.

[00:06:34] Thankfully, I have a whole set, but I mean, like, it's stupid expensive.

[00:06:41] So, and I guess some of the details in the book vary from either the episode or the book.

[00:06:49] So, I mean, there's kind of a reason to pick them up anyway.

[00:06:52] They're kind of unique in that sense.

[00:06:55] I was kind of upset they never did a Haunted Mask, but oh well.

[00:07:00] You know, kind of weird they didn't do one.

[00:07:03] We wish they did more.

[00:07:04] We wish they did more of the TV Presents books.

[00:07:08] Why didn't they just go ahead and do all of them?

[00:07:10] Like, I mean, who doesn't want to teach us pet TV Presents book?

[00:07:16] I mean, seriously.

[00:07:17] I mean, duh.

[00:07:20] I don't want to teach us pet one.

[00:07:21] Can I have photos inside of the fly and all that stuff?

[00:07:26] I mean, yeah.

[00:07:27] I mean, I'm always saying with these guys how lucky I was

[00:07:30] because when I was collecting Goosebumps,

[00:07:33] you know, I was able to get these quite easily.

[00:07:36] I was obtaining them very easily.

[00:07:39] I had three copies of Revenge of the Law Gnomes.

[00:07:41] I now have one because I've given said copies to other Goosebump collectors.

[00:07:48] This guy down the bottom.

[00:07:49] None of which named Isaiah Vargas by any chance.

[00:07:53] But, yeah, I liked them because when I was collecting Goosebumps in the late 90s,

[00:08:01] early 2000s, it was, you know, obviously being such a crazy Goosebumps and nerd,

[00:08:04] it was like just really something extra to collect.

[00:08:07] And I used to like looking at the color photos

[00:08:10] because I couldn't watch the TV series other than the ones that run VHS, really,

[00:08:13] and the occasional time they would rerun some.

[00:08:16] So it gave me an insight of other ones that were made,

[00:08:19] but I just couldn't really watch because I didn't know where to watch them

[00:08:23] unless Fox Kids did, yeah, like a rerun.

[00:08:26] So, yeah.

[00:08:28] I'm disappointed.

[00:08:28] I thought you were going to say that you couldn't read either.

[00:08:32] And I thought we were going to have something in common.

[00:08:34] And that's why you wanted the colored photos.

[00:08:38] I thought this was a safe space.

[00:08:41] No.

[00:08:41] I thought I found another person like me.

[00:08:45] Nope.

[00:08:46] Just like the other person.

[00:08:47] You are forever alone there, Nick.

[00:08:49] You actually can't read?

[00:08:52] No.

[00:08:54] It's weird, isn't it?

[00:08:54] Are you dyslexic?

[00:08:56] Or are you just stupid?

[00:08:57] You can read.

[00:08:58] You can read.

[00:08:59] Otherwise, you always said to ask your favorite Goosebumps book,

[00:09:02] how are you able to read it?

[00:09:05] Huh?

[00:09:06] It wasn't your audiobooks.

[00:09:08] You found the Braille version.

[00:09:10] I had it read to you.

[00:09:12] Yeah.

[00:09:13] It was read to you.

[00:09:14] That's a real bumpy book right there.

[00:09:18] Anyway, thanks for coming.

[00:09:19] We'll see you later.

[00:09:21] But this is a really interesting series.

[00:09:23] Now, I'm kind of the same as, well, I wouldn't say I'm the same as you, Nick,

[00:09:28] because I didn't grow up in the same time as you.

[00:09:31] But when I first started getting into Goosebumps,

[00:09:33] I didn't really, you know, look at these books and was like,

[00:09:37] oh, I need to get those.

[00:09:39] I was just kind of like, oh, neat.

[00:09:40] I was more focused on the original series, you know,

[00:09:44] like the ones that, you know, really,

[00:09:47] I don't want to say really mattered,

[00:09:48] but they really mattered at the time.

[00:09:52] But yeah, nowadays with what we know as collectors,

[00:09:55] these are hot commodities to have in your collection.

[00:09:59] These are.

[00:10:00] They are the truth.

[00:10:02] Goosebumps gold.

[00:10:03] Golding.

[00:10:05] Yep.

[00:10:06] Along with Black Spine, Give Yourselves,

[00:10:08] and God, like a few of the miscellaneous books,

[00:10:13] Screams in the Night, Goosebumps Live on Stage,

[00:10:15] that sort of stuff.

[00:10:16] These Goosebumps presents some more than others,

[00:10:19] but mostly all of these are pretty hard to find,

[00:10:23] pretty hard to come around.

[00:10:25] And if you guys have seen our 14th episode,

[00:10:29] which we mentioned earlier,

[00:10:30] where we talk about rare, expensive Goosebumps books,

[00:10:33] that's one that we did with our good buddy,

[00:10:35] Goosebumps Completionist,

[00:10:36] he brought a good point up that these spinoff series,

[00:10:40] the reason why you don't see these books as often

[00:10:44] as stuff in the original series

[00:10:45] is because they didn't do a lot of printings of these books.

[00:10:50] They were a little more scarce in how many they made

[00:10:53] compared to the original series,

[00:10:54] since those ones were more mainstream.

[00:10:56] These books weren't as printed back in the day,

[00:11:01] and that's why there's so few to find now,

[00:11:04] especially because only collector, you know,

[00:11:07] collector mentalities really only started to pop up

[00:11:10] about a decade or two ago.

[00:11:13] So probably when these books were coming out,

[00:11:15] nobody really, you know, gave a piss about these.

[00:11:18] What is the printing on that one specifically

[00:11:19] that you're holding?

[00:11:20] Like, is it a first, second?

[00:11:22] Like, because I actually have the third print.

[00:11:25] So they probably only did, like, three, maybe.

[00:11:31] You could probably count the printings on one hand.

[00:11:34] Yeah.

[00:11:35] But that's mostly why you are hard-pressed

[00:11:39] to find these books,

[00:11:40] and especially some of the later ones in this series.

[00:11:43] Now, as I said before,

[00:11:44] this series didn't last super long.

[00:11:46] It only was for two years,

[00:11:47] and there's only 18 books in the series,

[00:11:50] one of which was unreleased,

[00:11:51] but we'll talk about that in a little bit.

[00:11:53] But it's also really unique

[00:11:56] because not only are these

[00:11:59] some of the shortest Goosebumps books,

[00:12:02] but they're also actually,

[00:12:04] despite R.L. Stine's name being on these books,

[00:12:08] many of these books were ghostwritten.

[00:12:10] I don't think there's a single one

[00:12:12] that actually had R.L. Stine write these,

[00:12:14] which is understandable.

[00:12:16] If you guys will remember

[00:12:17] when we talked about Lost Goosebumps books,

[00:12:21] we mentioned that one of the reasons

[00:12:23] that Goosebumps fizzled out in the late 90s

[00:12:26] is because there was a lot of accusations going around

[00:12:28] about R.L. Stine hiring ghostwriters.

[00:12:31] It was a really weird gray area

[00:12:33] because he was allowed to have ghostwriters

[00:12:38] on the spinoff series,

[00:12:39] so that's where you'll find out

[00:12:41] that there were ghostwriters

[00:12:42] for Give Yourself Goosebumps and these books,

[00:12:45] but he couldn't have ghostwriters

[00:12:47] on the original series

[00:12:48] that was outside of his contract.

[00:12:51] But as we find out more and more,

[00:12:53] there's a few of the spinoff series

[00:12:55] that Stine had little to no involvement in.

[00:12:58] I think what they said was

[00:13:00] he would probably approve of the final draft

[00:13:04] or maybe they would come up with the outline,

[00:13:07] but these ones I think are blatant

[00:13:10] that they were mostly written by other people.

[00:13:12] So we'll go more into the details

[00:13:14] about who wrote what book in a little bit.

[00:13:18] But also, this was a series that,

[00:13:21] like Give Yourself Goosebumps,

[00:13:22] went through a little bit of a design change

[00:13:24] midway through the series.

[00:13:26] So we're now going to go through each of these books.

[00:13:30] So the one I was holding up for a long time

[00:13:32] is the first one based on The Girl Who Cried Monster.

[00:13:37] Now, another thing we should mention

[00:13:38] is that none of the books have episodes

[00:13:44] that were released on tape.

[00:13:46] So like Nick said, there was no Haunted Mask one.

[00:13:48] There was no Terror Tower,

[00:13:50] no Dead House, Living Dummy 3.

[00:13:53] It mostly kept to...

[00:13:55] But there was a Camp Nightmare, VHS.

[00:13:58] There was a Camp Nightmare,

[00:13:59] and there was an Attack of the Mutant.

[00:14:00] So there were some two-parter episodes.

[00:14:03] I personally believe that this series went for episodes

[00:14:07] that were not already available on home video

[00:14:12] because none of these episodes were on VHS,

[00:14:15] and there wasn't DVD back then.

[00:14:18] And more to what you were saying, Bjorn,

[00:14:20] you were saying that these were kind of your only way

[00:14:22] to see the episodes unless they reran on Fox Kids.

[00:14:26] I'm almost willing to bet that's why this series was made,

[00:14:30] at least one reason, because back then, again,

[00:14:33] you had no DVD, and you had no way to stream episodes,

[00:14:38] and DVRs didn't exist yet,

[00:14:41] so you can't record a programming.

[00:14:43] You basically had to catch it on TV

[00:14:45] or record it off of a VHS tape,

[00:14:48] and even then you still have to wait for it

[00:14:50] to come on TV.

[00:14:52] So this was sort of like the only way

[00:14:54] that you could see these episodes at home in book form.

[00:14:57] So it was either the VHS tapes

[00:15:00] or the ones that were released,

[00:15:01] or this, or you had to wait for the schedule

[00:15:04] to align with what you wanted.

[00:15:05] So it was a different time.

[00:15:08] And they did a Return of the Mummy VHS.

[00:15:11] Well, that was the other book.

[00:15:13] And I'm also pretty sure that was a screener

[00:15:16] that wasn't publicly released.

[00:15:18] Promotional.

[00:15:18] It was a promotional, not-for-sale copy in the UK only.

[00:15:23] It's funny, because we mentioned

[00:15:25] there was a Camp Nightmare tape.

[00:15:27] This series ended in 98, the TV Presents.

[00:15:31] The Camp Nightmare tape came out in 99.

[00:15:34] So it was almost like once these ended,

[00:15:37] they were like, oh, we can do...

[00:15:38] So then they did that one,

[00:15:40] but it was such a late release.

[00:15:43] Goosebumps VHS to come out in 1999

[00:15:45] is super unheard of.

[00:15:46] And it was only in the UK officially,

[00:15:49] but there were a lot of places that did import here in Australia.

[00:15:53] That's why I managed to come across it.

[00:15:55] Because word hadn't traveled yet.

[00:15:56] The Goosebumps was dead.

[00:15:57] Yeah, pretty much.

[00:15:59] It was in its post-mortem state.

[00:16:02] It was still going...

[00:16:03] It's almost like they thought,

[00:16:04] well, while we still have the license,

[00:16:05] let's quickly release another one.

[00:16:07] And they did.

[00:16:07] It was going through what I call media rigor mortis.

[00:16:11] Yeah.

[00:16:12] But they did have Night Living W2 in Australia,

[00:16:15] but that was only because they just decided

[00:16:17] to slap it on with three.

[00:16:18] Well, and as we found out too,

[00:16:20] there was...

[00:16:21] I don't remember what country it was from.

[00:16:24] Old story.

[00:16:25] One country got a ton of VHS releases

[00:16:27] of like singular episodes,

[00:16:30] but I can't for the life of you remember.

[00:16:31] It was Spanish or Italian or something.

[00:16:32] It was either Spanish or Italian,

[00:16:34] but yeah.

[00:16:35] Yeah, I want to say Italian.

[00:16:38] I think so.

[00:16:39] Sounds right.

[00:16:39] Yep.

[00:16:40] But going back to the Presents books,

[00:16:43] so taking a look at this kind of book,

[00:16:46] so you can see that the cover

[00:16:49] sort of resembles,

[00:16:50] you know,

[00:16:50] a regular Goosebumps book.

[00:16:51] It's got the slime

[00:16:52] and the two-color palette.

[00:16:55] But then you also have

[00:16:57] the pictures from the TV episode.

[00:16:58] You got one big one here

[00:17:00] and a few small ones.

[00:17:01] So this one is Girl Cried Monster.

[00:17:02] So you got Mr. Mortman right here.

[00:17:04] You got Lucy,

[00:17:06] a human Mr. Mortman,

[00:17:07] and then Randy down here.

[00:17:08] So it gives you a little taste

[00:17:10] about what you could have seen

[00:17:11] in the episode.

[00:17:13] Now,

[00:17:14] as you can see,

[00:17:15] these books are thin.

[00:17:17] These books are thin.

[00:17:18] I'm not kidding when I say

[00:17:20] that these are the shortest

[00:17:21] Goosebumps books ever written.

[00:17:23] That's why they get so...

[00:17:24] That's why half the time

[00:17:25] when you do find them in the wild,

[00:17:27] their pages are falling apart

[00:17:29] because like,

[00:17:30] you get a little bit of moisture

[00:17:31] in one of these

[00:17:31] and like those back pages

[00:17:33] just start to crease

[00:17:35] and they just rip off.

[00:17:36] Like,

[00:17:37] they're so hard to keep

[00:17:38] these ones in good shape,

[00:17:39] which is why we highly recommend

[00:17:41] the TV Presents books

[00:17:42] to get sleeved,

[00:17:43] even the more common ones.

[00:17:46] I recommend all books

[00:17:47] getting sleeved anymore.

[00:17:49] Yeah.

[00:17:50] Maybe to prevent yellowing

[00:17:52] and all the other stuff

[00:17:53] if, you know,

[00:17:55] keep them from getting nasty.

[00:17:57] Protection.

[00:17:57] If you look at the back here,

[00:17:59] so this looks exactly

[00:18:00] like a classic Goosebumps book.

[00:18:02] You got the picture here

[00:18:03] and the slime all coming down.

[00:18:04] It looks exactly like

[00:18:06] a classic Goosebumps book.

[00:18:08] As you can see here,

[00:18:10] though,

[00:18:10] instead of

[00:18:11] this sort of the typical,

[00:18:13] you know,

[00:18:14] short blurb

[00:18:15] of what to expect in the book,

[00:18:16] each of these books

[00:18:17] actually has

[00:18:18] sort of

[00:18:19] like an interview-esque

[00:18:21] dialogue

[00:18:22] from the main character

[00:18:23] of the book.

[00:18:24] So I'll read this one out.

[00:18:25] This is, again,

[00:18:26] this is for Girl Cried Monster.

[00:18:28] It says on the back here,

[00:18:29] Do you like monsters?

[00:18:30] I do.

[00:18:31] I love telling monster stories,

[00:18:33] especially to my little brother,

[00:18:34] Randy.

[00:18:35] He's a total scaredy cat,

[00:18:36] but now I have a little problem.

[00:18:38] See, it all started

[00:18:39] when I went to the library.

[00:18:40] That's where I met Mr. Mortman.

[00:18:41] He's a really creepy librarian.

[00:18:43] And one night

[00:18:44] after the library closed,

[00:18:45] I saw Mr. Mortman

[00:18:46] eat a whole bowl

[00:18:47] of tarantulas for dinner.

[00:18:48] That's right.

[00:18:49] He's a real-life monster.

[00:18:50] And now he's after me

[00:18:51] for dessert.

[00:18:53] Lucy Dark.

[00:18:54] So it's almost like

[00:18:56] they sat the kid down

[00:18:57] and was like,

[00:18:58] what's your story?

[00:18:59] And I kind of like that.

[00:19:00] It makes it feel

[00:19:01] a little more personal

[00:19:02] with the main character.

[00:19:05] Turning to the inside,

[00:19:07] I'll have to look through.

[00:19:09] Excuse me.

[00:19:09] I'll have to look through

[00:19:10] and see

[00:19:12] if all the books have this,

[00:19:13] but it has a little

[00:19:14] like

[00:19:15] emotional thing

[00:19:16] on the inside.

[00:19:17] It says,

[00:19:17] Have you seen the new show

[00:19:18] on Fox Kids TV?

[00:19:20] It's creepy.

[00:19:20] It's spooky.

[00:19:21] It's funny.

[00:19:22] It's goosebumps.

[00:19:23] Don't you love goosebumps

[00:19:24] on TV?

[00:19:25] And if you do,

[00:19:25] then you'll love this book,

[00:19:27] The Girl Who Cried Monster.

[00:19:28] It's exactly what you see

[00:19:29] on TV,

[00:19:30] complete with pages

[00:19:31] and pages of color photos

[00:19:33] right from the show.

[00:19:34] It's spooktacular.

[00:19:35] So check under your bed,

[00:19:36] pull your covers up tight

[00:19:37] and start to read

[00:19:38] The Girl Who Cried Monster.

[00:19:39] Goose Bruns presents

[00:19:40] a so good,

[00:19:41] it's scary.

[00:19:43] And then as we said,

[00:19:44] So good,

[00:19:45] it's scary.

[00:19:47] I use that tagline

[00:19:48] on a lot of things.

[00:19:49] Taking a look here,

[00:19:52] let me get my closer.

[00:19:53] Taking a look right here,

[00:19:54] you can see

[00:19:55] that it says

[00:19:56] this book has been adapted

[00:19:58] by Megan Stein.

[00:20:00] I don't know if there's

[00:20:01] any relation.

[00:20:02] I'll get back to you on that.

[00:20:03] From the Teleplay

[00:20:04] by Charles Lazor

[00:20:05] based on the book

[00:20:07] by R.L.

[00:20:08] Stein.

[00:20:08] Stein.

[00:20:08] So,

[00:20:09] again,

[00:20:10] giving you an idea

[00:20:11] about how confusing

[00:20:13] these books are,

[00:20:14] this is an adaptation

[00:20:16] written by one author

[00:20:17] based off the screenplay

[00:20:19] by a screenwriter,

[00:20:21] which is based off

[00:20:22] the writing

[00:20:23] from the original book

[00:20:24] by R.L.

[00:20:25] Stein.

[00:20:25] So it's sort of like

[00:20:26] a game of book telephone

[00:20:29] in a sense.

[00:20:30] Yeah,

[00:20:30] wow.

[00:20:31] because as we

[00:20:32] and I believe

[00:20:33] we were even told this

[00:20:34] by someone,

[00:20:36] I don't remember

[00:20:36] who it is,

[00:20:37] but I believe

[00:20:38] somebody told this

[00:20:38] that like these books

[00:20:39] were basically adapted

[00:20:41] from the screenplay

[00:20:43] and that's why

[00:20:43] sometimes there's

[00:20:44] a few things

[00:20:45] that are a little

[00:20:46] different even

[00:20:46] from the episode,

[00:20:48] but these are

[00:20:49] basically adaptations

[00:20:50] of the original

[00:20:52] episode and not

[00:20:53] the book.

[00:20:54] So there's going

[00:20:54] to be some differences

[00:20:55] between these books

[00:20:56] and the original books,

[00:20:58] but

[00:21:01] going to the

[00:21:02] color pages

[00:21:03] that they advertise.

[00:21:04] So each book

[00:21:05] in the middle

[00:21:07] right before you

[00:21:08] continue with the story

[00:21:09] has these color photos.

[00:21:11] They're either

[00:21:11] directly taken

[00:21:12] from the episode

[00:21:13] or they are

[00:21:14] production set photos

[00:21:16] in that page.

[00:21:18] Look at little Randy

[00:21:19] like in the front page

[00:21:20] just in here

[00:21:21] is a little

[00:21:21] scream in that

[00:21:23] he's a little

[00:21:23] he's a little shit.

[00:21:25] I'm sorry.

[00:21:26] You know,

[00:21:26] like the part

[00:21:27] she brings the photos

[00:21:28] out.

[00:21:29] Like when they go

[00:21:30] to the

[00:21:31] photography place

[00:21:32] and he's like

[00:21:33] let me see

[00:21:35] let me see

[00:21:36] and he like

[00:21:37] knocks them

[00:21:37] out of her hand.

[00:21:39] So these were

[00:21:40] like your only

[00:21:41] ways to have

[00:21:42] like this.

[00:21:43] It's funny

[00:21:44] because this is

[00:21:44] almost these

[00:21:45] photos are

[00:21:46] almost like a

[00:21:47] story within a

[00:21:48] story because

[00:21:49] they tell the

[00:21:49] story through

[00:21:50] the photos

[00:21:50] in like a

[00:21:51] very,

[00:21:52] very,

[00:21:53] very fast

[00:21:53] way.

[00:21:55] but some

[00:21:56] of these

[00:21:57] would have

[00:21:57] like,

[00:21:57] you know,

[00:21:58] these are

[00:21:58] mostly screen

[00:21:59] caps from

[00:21:59] the episode

[00:22:00] but as you

[00:22:01] can see

[00:22:01] here,

[00:22:02] this is

[00:22:02] sort of

[00:22:02] like a

[00:22:03] different

[00:22:04] photo

[00:22:04] taken of

[00:22:05] this scene.

[00:22:05] I almost

[00:22:06] wonder if

[00:22:07] it was

[00:22:07] like a

[00:22:07] set photo.

[00:22:08] They're

[00:22:09] they're set

[00:22:10] photo stills

[00:22:10] for sure.

[00:22:11] Like,

[00:22:12] yeah,

[00:22:13] someone's

[00:22:13] taken these.

[00:22:14] That is

[00:22:15] like the

[00:22:15] greatest

[00:22:15] image like

[00:22:16] ever,

[00:22:16] that one

[00:22:17] right there.

[00:22:20] I want that

[00:22:20] blown up and

[00:22:21] put on a

[00:22:22] in a frame.

[00:22:23] It is a

[00:22:23] one of

[00:22:24] monster

[00:22:24] Mortman on

[00:22:25] the cover.

[00:22:26] I love that.

[00:22:27] That's such a

[00:22:28] cool picture.

[00:22:28] Like,

[00:22:29] that would be

[00:22:29] a nice one

[00:22:29] to have,

[00:22:30] you know,

[00:22:30] up on the

[00:22:31] wall.

[00:22:32] Yeah.

[00:22:33] But yeah,

[00:22:34] like I said,

[00:22:34] these books

[00:22:35] are short.

[00:22:35] This one

[00:22:36] goes only

[00:22:36] till 10

[00:22:37] chapters,

[00:22:38] so you

[00:22:39] could knock

[00:22:39] these out

[00:22:40] super,

[00:22:41] super fast

[00:22:41] as if you

[00:22:42] already

[00:22:42] couldn't read

[00:22:43] a Goosebumps

[00:22:43] book super

[00:22:44] fast.

[00:22:45] So,

[00:22:46] Megan

[00:22:47] Stein

[00:22:48] is

[00:22:51] related

[00:22:51] to R.L.

[00:22:53] Stein

[00:22:53] and the

[00:22:54] fact that

[00:22:55] that's her

[00:22:56] brother-in-law.

[00:22:57] That's her

[00:22:58] brother-in-law?

[00:22:59] Oh.

[00:23:00] Oh.

[00:23:01] Okay.

[00:23:02] She is an

[00:23:02] author.

[00:23:04] Oh.

[00:23:04] She says

[00:23:06] that she's

[00:23:06] an editor-in-chief

[00:23:07] of Real You

[00:23:08] Guides

[00:23:08] and the

[00:23:09] author of

[00:23:10] more than

[00:23:10] 100 books

[00:23:11] for young

[00:23:12] readers.

[00:23:13] Wow.

[00:23:15] But

[00:23:15] she is

[00:23:16] married

[00:23:16] or was

[00:23:17] married,

[00:23:17] I don't

[00:23:18] know,

[00:23:18] they might

[00:23:18] not be

[00:23:19] together,

[00:23:19] I don't

[00:23:19] know,

[00:23:20] to a

[00:23:20] William

[00:23:21] Stein,

[00:23:21] H.

[00:23:22] William

[00:23:22] Stein,

[00:23:23] but her

[00:23:23] brother-in-law

[00:23:24] is R.L.

[00:23:24] Stein.

[00:23:25] Oh.

[00:23:27] Keeping it

[00:23:27] in the

[00:23:28] family,

[00:23:28] see?

[00:23:29] Yeah.

[00:23:32] All right.

[00:23:33] I did

[00:23:33] not know

[00:23:34] that.

[00:23:34] Well,

[00:23:35] taking a

[00:23:35] look at

[00:23:35] the

[00:23:36] different

[00:23:36] authors,

[00:23:37] so we're

[00:23:39] going to go

[00:23:39] through the

[00:23:39] original book,

[00:23:40] the books

[00:23:41] in the

[00:23:41] series.

[00:23:42] But yeah,

[00:23:43] so Megan

[00:23:43] Stein,

[00:23:43] she wrote

[00:23:44] the first

[00:23:44] book,

[00:23:45] Girl Cried

[00:23:46] Monster.

[00:23:46] She also

[00:23:47] wrote for

[00:23:48] or adapted

[00:23:49] Welcome to

[00:23:50] Can't

[00:23:50] Nightmare and

[00:23:52] Let's Get

[00:23:52] Invisible.

[00:23:54] Carol Ellis is

[00:23:55] the second

[00:23:56] author.

[00:23:57] She adapted

[00:23:57] The Cuckoo

[00:23:59] Clock of

[00:23:59] Doom,

[00:24:02] Night of the

[00:24:03] Living Dummy 2,

[00:24:04] The Headless

[00:24:05] Ghost,

[00:24:05] Bad Hair

[00:24:06] Day,

[00:24:07] Ghost

[00:24:07] Beach,

[00:24:08] and Attack

[00:24:08] of the

[00:24:09] Jack-o'-lanterns.

[00:24:09] So she did

[00:24:10] the most

[00:24:11] of the series.

[00:24:13] Could you

[00:24:13] imagine if it

[00:24:14] had an M

[00:24:15] there,

[00:24:16] like M

[00:24:16] whatever,

[00:24:17] the Megan,

[00:24:19] so M

[00:24:20] something Stein.

[00:24:22] Can you

[00:24:22] imagine if

[00:24:22] they did

[00:24:23] like that?

[00:24:24] So it still

[00:24:24] has Stein on

[00:24:25] there.

[00:24:26] They don't

[00:24:26] even have to

[00:24:27] change that.

[00:24:28] They'd confuse

[00:24:29] the crap out

[00:24:30] of people.

[00:24:30] Yeah.

[00:24:31] It's a

[00:24:31] misprint.

[00:24:33] Then you

[00:24:34] had Francine

[00:24:35] Hughes,

[00:24:36] who wrote

[00:24:37] Return of

[00:24:37] the Mummy,

[00:24:39] Diane

[00:24:40] Amansky,

[00:24:41] who wrote

[00:24:42] My Hairiest

[00:24:42] Adventure,

[00:24:44] Jane E.

[00:24:45] Gerver,

[00:24:46] who wrote

[00:24:46] Be Careful

[00:24:46] What You

[00:24:47] Wish For,

[00:24:48] Tracy West,

[00:24:49] Go Eat

[00:24:50] Worms,

[00:24:51] Melinda Metz,

[00:24:52] Attack of the

[00:24:52] Mutant,

[00:24:54] Teddy

[00:24:54] Margulies,

[00:24:56] who did

[00:24:56] You Can't

[00:24:57] Scare Me

[00:24:57] and Revenge

[00:24:58] of the

[00:24:58] Long Gnomes,

[00:24:59] Elizabeth

[00:25:00] Winthrey,

[00:25:01] Monster Blood,

[00:25:01] and Carla

[00:25:02] Jablonski

[00:25:03] Calling All

[00:25:04] Creeps.

[00:25:05] So there

[00:25:06] was a lot

[00:25:06] of authors

[00:25:07] who worked

[00:25:08] on this

[00:25:08] series.

[00:25:09] Wow.

[00:25:10] Wouldn't it

[00:25:11] be funny

[00:25:11] if Attack of

[00:25:11] the Mutant

[00:25:12] said Zach

[00:25:12] Baby TV?

[00:25:15] Zachary

[00:25:16] Baby TV.

[00:25:17] He changed

[00:25:18] the wiki

[00:25:20] page so

[00:25:20] it was like

[00:25:21] I wrote

[00:25:21] that book

[00:25:22] when I

[00:25:22] was like

[00:25:23] 10.

[00:25:24] When I

[00:25:25] was five

[00:25:26] years old.

[00:25:27] Taking a

[00:25:27] look at the

[00:25:28] next book

[00:25:28] in the

[00:25:28] series,

[00:25:29] we have

[00:25:29] Cuckoo

[00:25:30] Clock

[00:25:30] of Doom,

[00:25:31] which is

[00:25:31] funny because

[00:25:32] I'm pretty

[00:25:32] sure that

[00:25:33] this episode

[00:25:33] came out

[00:25:34] before this

[00:25:35] one.

[00:25:36] What do

[00:25:37] I know?

[00:25:37] I guess I

[00:25:38] would say

[00:25:38] this is

[00:25:39] probably the

[00:25:39] best one

[00:25:39] to start

[00:25:40] off with

[00:25:40] because it's

[00:25:40] the more

[00:25:42] iconic of

[00:25:42] the two.

[00:25:43] But the

[00:25:44] second one

[00:25:44] is Cuckoo

[00:25:44] Clock

[00:25:45] of Doom,

[00:25:45] the

[00:25:45] Cuckoo

[00:25:46] Clock

[00:25:46] of Doom.

[00:25:49] And again,

[00:25:50] this one is

[00:25:50] pretty similar

[00:25:51] to the

[00:25:51] Girl Cried

[00:25:51] Monser,

[00:25:52] except it's

[00:25:53] adapting

[00:25:53] the Cuckoo

[00:25:54] Clock

[00:25:54] of Doom

[00:25:55] with photos

[00:25:56] on the inside.

[00:25:57] Probably

[00:25:58] Tara got

[00:25:58] her own

[00:25:58] page,

[00:25:59] like her

[00:25:59] image on

[00:26:00] there.

[00:26:02] Tara.

[00:26:03] has the

[00:26:04] two different

[00:26:05] versions of

[00:26:05] Michael,

[00:26:06] the kid

[00:26:07] and the

[00:26:08] baby.

[00:26:08] the

[00:26:08] Tara,

[00:26:10] the

[00:26:10] picture of

[00:26:12] the

[00:26:12] cuckoo

[00:26:13] head being

[00:26:13] turned back.

[00:26:15] Yeah.

[00:26:17] I thought

[00:26:17] that cuckoo

[00:26:17] looked a

[00:26:20] little off.

[00:26:23] Whoever

[00:26:23] designed that

[00:26:24] for the show

[00:26:24] did a great

[00:26:26] job.

[00:26:26] definitely

[00:26:27] doesn't look

[00:26:27] like your

[00:26:28] average

[00:26:28] cuckoo

[00:26:28] clock

[00:26:29] bird,

[00:26:29] but

[00:26:31] nope,

[00:26:32] it looks

[00:26:32] scary.

[00:26:33] I like it.

[00:26:33] I like it a lot.

[00:26:35] It's huge.

[00:26:35] Have you seen

[00:26:35] a cuckoo

[00:26:36] clock,

[00:26:36] a real one?

[00:26:37] It's just a

[00:26:37] tiny little

[00:26:37] thing that

[00:26:38] pops out.

[00:26:39] This

[00:26:39] cuckoo

[00:26:39] clock,

[00:26:40] the bird

[00:26:41] looks

[00:26:42] almost like

[00:26:42] a stuffed

[00:26:44] bird,

[00:26:44] like it was

[00:26:45] really alive.

[00:26:46] It does,

[00:26:47] doesn't it?

[00:26:48] Yeah.

[00:26:50] But it

[00:26:50] probably was.

[00:26:51] And then a

[00:26:53] magician

[00:26:53] sorcerer guy

[00:26:54] put a spell

[00:26:55] on it.

[00:26:56] Unlike

[00:26:57] this book,

[00:26:58] where do the

[00:26:58] origins of a

[00:26:59] lot of these

[00:27:00] come from?

[00:27:01] Like,

[00:27:01] say,

[00:27:01] the haunted

[00:27:02] mask,

[00:27:02] you know,

[00:27:02] we know the

[00:27:03] shopkeeper

[00:27:03] make it,

[00:27:04] but how did

[00:27:04] he get it

[00:27:05] to like,

[00:27:06] how are they

[00:27:06] alive?

[00:27:07] You know what

[00:27:07] I mean?

[00:27:07] It's like,

[00:27:07] how did he

[00:27:08] do that part?

[00:27:08] That there

[00:27:09] was so much

[00:27:09] like evil

[00:27:10] behind him

[00:27:11] that it

[00:27:11] just kind

[00:27:12] of like

[00:27:12] tainted.

[00:27:12] Well,

[00:27:13] that's how

[00:27:13] it changed

[00:27:14] their appearance,

[00:27:15] but not to

[00:27:15] say that they

[00:27:16] come alive and

[00:27:17] can flow off

[00:27:17] and chase

[00:27:18] you.

[00:27:19] You know

[00:27:19] what I mean?

[00:27:19] It's like,

[00:27:20] whoa,

[00:27:21] whoa,

[00:27:21] okay,

[00:27:22] how'd that

[00:27:22] happen here?

[00:27:23] Who knows?

[00:27:28] What guy

[00:27:29] in New York,

[00:27:30] New Jersey

[00:27:30] made the

[00:27:31] clock?

[00:27:32] About this

[00:27:33] book,

[00:27:33] or at least

[00:27:34] the one

[00:27:34] that I have,

[00:27:35] there's no

[00:27:35] back of the

[00:27:36] book advertisements.

[00:27:37] This one

[00:27:38] does.

[00:27:48] Goosebumps.

[00:27:50] They cheese

[00:27:51] and die

[00:27:51] again.

[00:27:52] Next up,

[00:27:53] we got

[00:27:54] Welcome to

[00:27:55] Camp

[00:27:55] Nightmare,

[00:27:56] the third

[00:27:56] one,

[00:27:57] and this

[00:27:57] is a

[00:27:58] two-parter.

[00:27:59] So,

[00:28:00] just kind

[00:28:00] of giving

[00:28:01] a feel,

[00:28:02] I don't

[00:28:03] think this

[00:28:03] one,

[00:28:04] even despite

[00:28:04] being a

[00:28:05] two-parter,

[00:28:05] is a little,

[00:28:07] has a little

[00:28:08] more meat

[00:28:08] on its bones

[00:28:10] in that it's

[00:28:10] a little longer

[00:28:11] than the last

[00:28:12] two.

[00:28:12] This one

[00:28:13] does go to

[00:28:13] Chapter 11,

[00:28:14] so maybe it

[00:28:14] has a little

[00:28:15] more in it.

[00:28:16] Oh,

[00:28:17] man,

[00:28:18] fought for

[00:28:18] bankruptcy?

[00:28:20] After 11,

[00:28:21] bankruptcy.

[00:28:22] Oh,

[00:28:23] dang,

[00:28:23] son.

[00:28:24] Now,

[00:28:25] this was

[00:28:26] actually the

[00:28:26] first TV

[00:28:27] Presents I

[00:28:27] ever got.

[00:28:27] That's the

[00:28:28] true story

[00:28:28] of Goosebumps.

[00:28:29] And it's

[00:28:29] funny because

[00:28:31] I got

[00:28:32] this book

[00:28:33] from a

[00:28:34] neighbor

[00:28:36] because they

[00:28:37] had a

[00:28:37] bunch of

[00:28:38] a small

[00:28:39] stack of

[00:28:39] Goosebumps

[00:28:40] books.

[00:28:40] They actually

[00:28:41] had two

[00:28:41] TV Presents

[00:28:43] books,

[00:28:43] and this

[00:28:44] was the

[00:28:44] first one

[00:28:44] I got my

[00:28:45] hands-on

[00:28:45] was this

[00:28:46] one.

[00:28:46] And this

[00:28:47] was when

[00:28:47] I was

[00:28:47] looking at

[00:28:48] it,

[00:28:48] I'm like,

[00:28:48] wow,

[00:28:48] this is

[00:28:48] cool,

[00:28:49] but I'm

[00:28:49] like,

[00:28:50] yeah,

[00:28:51] do you

[00:28:51] got any

[00:28:51] of the

[00:28:52] original

[00:28:52] series?

[00:28:55] Now you

[00:28:56] look at it

[00:28:56] now and go,

[00:28:57] oh,

[00:28:57] wait,

[00:28:57] this is

[00:28:58] really

[00:28:58] cool.

[00:28:59] Yeah.

[00:29:01] I always

[00:29:01] really liked

[00:29:03] the picture

[00:29:03] of Saber

[00:29:04] on the front

[00:29:04] here.

[00:29:05] I like how

[00:29:06] it looks

[00:29:06] like he's

[00:29:06] cross-eyed.

[00:29:08] You know what

[00:29:08] I mean?

[00:29:10] Yeah,

[00:29:10] that's

[00:29:10] what it was

[00:29:11] cross-eyed.

[00:29:12] I know,

[00:29:13] it's funny,

[00:29:13] if you try to

[00:29:13] find pictures

[00:29:14] of Saber,

[00:29:15] it's hard

[00:29:15] to seem

[00:29:16] to get one

[00:29:17] where his

[00:29:17] eyes aren't

[00:29:18] kind of

[00:29:18] janky a

[00:29:19] little bit.

[00:29:20] Yeah,

[00:29:20] it almost

[00:29:20] looks like

[00:29:21] a dog.

[00:29:21] In this

[00:29:22] one,

[00:29:22] it looks

[00:29:22] more dog-ass

[00:29:23] than it

[00:29:24] does in

[00:29:25] this photo.

[00:29:26] That one

[00:29:26] looks a little

[00:29:27] more monstrous

[00:29:27] right there.

[00:29:28] If those teeth

[00:29:29] got you,

[00:29:29] man,

[00:29:31] that would

[00:29:32] dig in.

[00:29:33] Jack you

[00:29:33] up.

[00:29:47] That's

[00:29:47] one area

[00:29:47] we could

[00:29:48] do.

[00:29:49] Uncle

[00:29:49] Al,

[00:29:49] man.

[00:29:51] Yeah.

[00:29:51] That'd

[00:29:51] be so

[00:29:52] awesome.

[00:29:53] Be cool.

[00:29:55] That'd

[00:29:55] be really

[00:29:55] cool.

[00:29:56] I mean,

[00:29:56] we got,

[00:29:56] I just

[00:29:56] love how

[00:29:57] Colin's got

[00:29:57] his own

[00:29:58] little image

[00:29:58] on the

[00:29:58] front.

[00:29:59] Like,

[00:30:00] Colin.

[00:30:01] Oh,

[00:30:01] it's a

[00:30:01] nice shot

[00:30:02] because he's

[00:30:02] leaning on

[00:30:03] the Camp

[00:30:04] Nightmoon

[00:30:05] bus.

[00:30:06] Yeah,

[00:30:06] I think

[00:30:07] that's why

[00:30:07] they put

[00:30:07] that,

[00:30:08] yeah,

[00:30:08] that does

[00:30:08] work

[00:30:08] really well,

[00:30:09] having

[00:30:10] that,

[00:30:10] like,

[00:30:10] on the

[00:30:11] front

[00:30:11] of the

[00:30:11] bus.

[00:30:16] And

[00:30:17] the

[00:30:19] fourth

[00:30:19] book is

[00:30:20] Return of

[00:30:21] the Mummy.

[00:30:22] Yeah,

[00:30:24] not a

[00:30:24] particularly

[00:30:25] memorable

[00:30:25] episode in

[00:30:26] my eyes,

[00:30:27] but

[00:30:30] that's

[00:30:31] one of

[00:30:32] the episodes

[00:30:32] where,

[00:30:33] like,

[00:30:33] I can

[00:30:33] legit say

[00:30:34] the acting

[00:30:36] was so

[00:30:36] bad.

[00:30:38] It was

[00:30:39] so cringy.

[00:30:40] It hurt

[00:30:42] my soul

[00:30:42] a little

[00:30:43] bit.

[00:30:43] Even the

[00:30:43] kids going

[00:30:44] to do,

[00:30:44] like,

[00:30:44] Are You

[00:30:45] Afraid

[00:30:45] of the

[00:30:45] Dark?

[00:30:45] And

[00:30:46] he was

[00:30:46] in,

[00:30:46] like,

[00:30:46] Mean Girls.

[00:30:47] Like,

[00:30:48] I don't

[00:30:48] know.

[00:30:49] He was

[00:30:50] like,

[00:30:50] terrible.

[00:30:50] The scream

[00:30:51] he does

[00:30:51] in it.

[00:30:52] When the

[00:30:52] thing grabs

[00:30:53] him,

[00:30:53] and he's

[00:30:53] like,

[00:30:55] AHHHHH!

[00:30:56] Oh,

[00:30:56] no,

[00:30:56] at least

[00:30:58] he screamed.

[00:30:59] I will

[00:30:59] give him

[00:31:00] that.

[00:31:00] Hopefully

[00:31:00] we don't

[00:31:01] lose you,

[00:31:01] Bjorn.

[00:31:02] You know

[00:31:02] what it

[00:31:03] was?

[00:31:03] It was

[00:31:03] the facial

[00:31:04] expression

[00:31:05] that didn't

[00:31:05] work with

[00:31:06] the scream

[00:31:06] for some

[00:31:07] reason.

[00:31:07] It looked

[00:31:07] like off.

[00:31:08] Like,

[00:31:09] the scream

[00:31:09] didn't work.

[00:31:11] Well,

[00:31:12] I take that

[00:31:12] back.

[00:31:13] The scream

[00:31:13] that they

[00:31:13] gave in

[00:31:14] Night of

[00:31:14] the Living

[00:31:14] Gummy 3

[00:31:15] did work

[00:31:15] for what

[00:31:16] they were

[00:31:16] doing.

[00:31:17] Because it

[00:31:17] was just

[00:31:17] uh.

[00:31:19] Yeah,

[00:31:20] like,

[00:31:21] this one

[00:31:22] has tons

[00:31:22] of back

[00:31:24] of the book

[00:31:24] advertisements.

[00:31:26] Don't you

[00:31:27] worry,

[00:31:27] folks,

[00:31:27] too.

[00:31:27] We're going

[00:31:28] to do a

[00:31:28] whole episode

[00:31:28] talking about

[00:31:29] back of the

[00:31:29] book advertisements

[00:31:30] on one day.

[00:31:31] I promise

[00:31:32] you we will.

[00:31:33] And I

[00:31:34] have two

[00:31:34] things to

[00:31:35] show from

[00:31:35] that.

[00:31:36] That's

[00:31:36] going to

[00:31:36] be like

[00:31:37] the backpack.

[00:31:38] Oh,

[00:31:38] I got the

[00:31:39] package.

[00:31:39] Yeah,

[00:31:40] we'll save

[00:31:41] that for the

[00:31:41] video.

[00:31:42] We'll save it

[00:31:42] for the

[00:31:42] video.

[00:31:43] No,

[00:31:44] we'll save it

[00:31:45] for the

[00:31:46] video.

[00:31:47] I can't see

[00:31:48] anything you're

[00:31:49] doing.

[00:31:51] Mine's moving.

[00:31:51] There we go.

[00:31:52] Boom,

[00:31:52] you're back.

[00:31:53] It's moving.

[00:31:54] Okay,

[00:31:54] the actress

[00:31:55] from this

[00:31:56] episode is

[00:31:56] the one who

[00:31:57] is dressed

[00:31:58] up in the

[00:31:59] slappy suit

[00:31:59] in Night

[00:32:00] of the

[00:32:00] Living

[00:32:00] Dummy 3.

[00:32:01] So I

[00:32:01] randomly have

[00:32:02] her autograph

[00:32:02] on the

[00:32:03] script,

[00:32:04] which is so

[00:32:04] weird.

[00:32:05] I was like,

[00:32:06] I have her

[00:32:06] autograph.

[00:32:07] So technically

[00:32:07] from Return

[00:32:08] of the Mummy

[00:32:08] as well.

[00:32:09] Speaking of

[00:32:10] Night of the

[00:32:11] Living Dummy,

[00:32:12] the fifth book,

[00:32:13] Night of the

[00:32:13] Living Dummy 2.

[00:32:16] Yeah,

[00:32:16] we got how

[00:32:17] many copies of

[00:32:18] that one?

[00:32:19] We got seven

[00:32:20] copies of that?

[00:32:23] Seven copies,

[00:32:24] man.

[00:32:24] I got two.

[00:32:26] Yeah,

[00:32:27] two copies,

[00:32:28] one for that

[00:32:29] shelf and one

[00:32:30] for that

[00:32:30] shelf.

[00:32:32] That's how

[00:32:32] the song goes,

[00:32:32] right?

[00:32:35] The ones that

[00:32:35] aren't so great,

[00:32:36] I put in like

[00:32:37] this three-pack

[00:32:38] sleeve.

[00:32:39] So I put like

[00:32:40] the four good

[00:32:40] ones there and

[00:32:41] then like,

[00:32:42] so yeah,

[00:32:42] seven copies.

[00:32:45] Night of the

[00:32:45] Living Dummy 2.

[00:32:47] TV presents.

[00:32:49] This one

[00:32:49] definitely has a

[00:32:50] lot of like

[00:32:51] set-esque

[00:32:52] photos for

[00:32:53] where it's

[00:32:53] colored photos

[00:32:55] including this

[00:32:56] one,

[00:32:56] which is

[00:32:57] very odd.

[00:32:58] I love that

[00:32:58] one.

[00:32:59] It's odd,

[00:33:00] but it's such a

[00:33:00] unique photo in

[00:33:02] a way.

[00:33:02] Like I remember

[00:33:03] when I first saw

[00:33:03] that picture,

[00:33:04] I was like,

[00:33:05] that's so

[00:33:06] unique.

[00:33:07] That's love

[00:33:08] right there.

[00:33:08] I like this

[00:33:11] one.

[00:33:11] I like the two

[00:33:12] dummies sitting

[00:33:13] there.

[00:33:13] That's a really

[00:33:13] good picture

[00:33:14] that they took.

[00:33:16] I like the

[00:33:16] next one.

[00:33:17] I think it's

[00:33:18] on the next

[00:33:18] page.

[00:33:19] This one right

[00:33:19] here.

[00:33:21] There's a really

[00:33:22] good slappy

[00:33:22] photo along

[00:33:23] with the one

[00:33:23] on the cover.

[00:33:26] This one on the

[00:33:26] cover is really

[00:33:27] good too.

[00:33:28] They might have

[00:33:28] been popping out

[00:33:29] because as we

[00:33:29] know,

[00:33:29] remember it was

[00:33:30] all controlled

[00:33:31] with a thing.

[00:33:32] Yeah.

[00:33:33] So it's like

[00:33:33] they might have

[00:33:34] been ready to

[00:33:34] pop out.

[00:33:35] And then you

[00:33:35] got these

[00:33:36] two.

[00:33:37] These are

[00:33:38] really good

[00:33:39] photos.

[00:33:40] They're really

[00:33:40] and a lot of

[00:33:41] them was just

[00:33:41] long.

[00:33:42] Whose guitar was

[00:33:42] that again?

[00:33:43] Was that

[00:33:44] Alan's guitar?

[00:33:46] I think that

[00:33:46] was Alan's

[00:33:47] guitar.

[00:33:47] Yeah.

[00:33:48] That's why

[00:33:48] they were

[00:33:49] like,

[00:33:49] he was really

[00:33:50] nervous about

[00:33:50] it.

[00:33:52] They smashed

[00:33:53] his guitar.

[00:33:54] Yeah.

[00:33:56] I don't know

[00:33:57] if they smashed

[00:33:58] his guitar,

[00:33:58] but they were

[00:33:59] really worried.

[00:33:59] He was really

[00:34:00] worried that

[00:34:00] someone was

[00:34:01] going to smash

[00:34:02] it.

[00:34:04] And they very

[00:34:05] well could have.

[00:34:06] And then this

[00:34:07] one has the

[00:34:07] again,

[00:34:09] you're adapting

[00:34:09] the original

[00:34:10] episode,

[00:34:11] not the book.

[00:34:12] So this one

[00:34:13] has the ending

[00:34:13] of Dennis

[00:34:14] revealing himself.

[00:34:16] And then it

[00:34:17] even says,

[00:34:17] it's like,

[00:34:18] it's good to be

[00:34:19] back in the

[00:34:19] family again.

[00:34:20] Oh,

[00:34:20] oh,

[00:34:21] oh,

[00:34:22] oh,

[00:34:23] oh,

[00:34:24] oh,

[00:34:25] oh,

[00:34:25] oh,

[00:34:25] oh,

[00:34:26] oh,

[00:34:26] oh,

[00:34:26] oh,

[00:34:27] oh,

[00:34:27] oh,

[00:34:28] oh,

[00:34:30] oh,

[00:34:32] oh,

[00:34:32] oh,

[00:34:42] oh,

[00:34:47] Oh,

[00:34:48] But see that's the thing too like if that was the case and those magic words bring any ventriloquist dummy to life

[00:34:54] and I living to me three the whole attic would have came alive like

[00:34:59] They had tons of them up there

[00:35:00] Well, then they wouldn't have the chance to be using his magic breath. So yeah, yeah

[00:35:09] Yeah, you know, we we established that into your mouth. We established that Cal Dodd did the voice of Dennis too, right?

[00:35:17] Yes, yeah, he did that. He did that goofy voice for that. That was awesome. I love that

[00:35:24] It's just one we only need one line. Can you just do whatever you feel would work for this dummy?

[00:35:30] Yeah, there's like no need to hire somebody else. Yeah, yeah, Cal Dodd there

[00:35:34] So that was the first five of this sub series

[00:35:39] So you had girl cried monster kookakadoom welcome to camp nightmare return of the mummy and neither living dummy to

[00:35:45] Not a bad stack of episodes

[00:35:49] Obviously, of course all from the first season

[00:35:51] Unfortunately, nothing from say like say cheese and die or piano lessons can be murder fan of the auditorium

[00:36:00] But I'm surprised I didn't do all those

[00:36:02] Going on did look six

[00:36:05] um

[00:36:06] They not only

[00:36:09] Change the whole design

[00:36:10] Uh, but they started getting into beyond the first season not for this next book though

[00:36:15] My hairiest adventure

[00:36:19] So

[00:36:19] No say cheese and make a look at that though. No piano lessons can be murder

[00:36:24] But we amus crowley

[00:36:26] Scott my hairiest adventure

[00:36:29] It's like he's like do you got like those two episodes like no do you got my hairiest adventure?

[00:36:33] He's like you better believe we got my hairiest adventure

[00:36:37] Let's believe it. You know what I am actually gonna say I am really like I know they're doing more than 20 minute episodes

[00:36:42] I am really actually kind of upset. There isn't a piano lessons one. I think that would have made a really cool

[00:36:48] Awesome one

[00:36:50] I would have done that over this

[00:36:52] Like instead of that they should have just done piano lessons, but

[00:36:55] But as you can see the design was very much changed

[00:36:59] Uh from the last few so this uh, these ones definitely

[00:37:03] Cap sort of the aesthetic from the original goosebumps books. They had the slime and the color palettes

[00:37:08] This one goes for

[00:37:10] Definitely more of a templated or I

[00:37:12] Not that the other one was not templated

[00:37:14] Uh, but this one doesn't really have much difference from cover to cover except for the first photo and it's only one photo

[00:37:21] Now for the rest of the series

[00:37:23] But um, um, it's definitely a little more

[00:37:27] Definitely a little more um color going on in the back there. You can see there's like a big spider web

[00:37:33] Um, but yeah, and then the goosebumps logo itself is very it almost matches the tv show

[00:37:39] Don't you know what I mean? Like it sort of has like the look in the beginning when it kind of gets that wave

[00:37:44] Exactly levels up

[00:37:45] It definitely looks more uh similar to the tv show opening than the the first few did

[00:37:51] Yep, so we got my hairiest adventure

[00:37:54] One of the I just don't like the pixelated spider web

[00:37:58] Yeah, it is very pixelated. It's like they really zoomed in the photo

[00:38:03] I wonder if that was around the time like um, kind of like what when we had craig white on and they hired him because he did digital

[00:38:10] Art, I wonder if that's kind of like that's what they were doing was using

[00:38:15] Digital art for the covers from that point. That's why it's pixelated

[00:38:19] Yeah

[00:38:19] You know

[00:38:20] I don't know

[00:38:21] Second prince dude

[00:38:24] That's isn't that where he accidentally uh

[00:38:28] Was shaving his you know pubes and then hit his

[00:38:31] His wiener

[00:38:33] I think so yeah, yeah, yeah

[00:38:35] I feel like there'd be a probably a bigger scream than that

[00:38:39] No, no, you see how wide his mouth got I look like a lot of pain, bro

[00:38:45] That's a first man

[00:38:47] um

[00:38:51] Second print what i'm like reading the prints of them now and i'm actually a little disappointed

[00:38:56] I have one first print of the dummy one. These are both second

[00:39:00] Oh, shit. Ah first print

[00:39:03] first print

[00:39:03] Mine's a second. I didn't see what mine are

[00:39:11] Shit

[00:39:11] I didn't realize

[00:39:13] About the printing

[00:39:14] I'm more concerned with getting a true first of the original 62 at this point

[00:39:18] Because I think all my series 2000s are first

[00:39:23] Uh

[00:39:23] All of them?

[00:39:25] Yeah, pretty sure

[00:39:27] Well, unlike the original series you're probably not going to find a like

[00:39:32] You know 13th print of these books at most you're probably found a four night printing

[00:39:38] Yeah, that is a first

[00:39:39] Another first

[00:39:41] I got two firsts of night living dimmy the others are all second

[00:39:44] I don't have a third print

[00:39:46] Going on to the next book in the series

[00:39:47] The headless ghosts for now in season two which really good episode

[00:39:51] Yep, I loved headless ghost episode

[00:39:54] I think it's one that I like that episode

[00:39:58] Um, a little odd of a choice for a picture on the front, but

[00:40:02] I guess it kind of makes sense because it's the picture frame of the headless ghost, but

[00:40:07] Yeah, a little creepy though. It's kind of creepy. It would have been better to use uh

[00:40:12] Actual actors though in the scene rather than that in my opinion. Yeah

[00:40:18] Like here we got uh, these awesome pictures of the boy

[00:40:22] Heck even this even this picture right here would have made a good uh

[00:40:27] You know cover photo with the shadowy hands on the wall shadowy hands on the wall. Oh, yeah for sure like

[00:40:35] The scooby-doo moment

[00:40:38] The nose for a moment

[00:40:41] Whoa, that's a fifth print by the way

[00:40:44] Okay, this is always something that really made me angry

[00:40:47] the

[00:40:48] Order form being the back cover

[00:40:51] So that means you have to cut the cover off if you want to send out it's one thing to have it on a page

[00:40:56] It's another to cut the entirety of the back cover off just to get some goosebumps books

[00:41:01] That would really suck

[00:41:04] Oh, yeah, that would suck

[00:41:07] Okay, that's why I never understood why they just didn't have it as a page by itself

[00:41:13] So you could tear it out or cut it out

[00:41:16] To send it in I mean it would make the most sense to do that don't even put it on one that's going to share

[00:41:21] You know anything printing on the just make it a page by itself

[00:41:26] Yeah, I think so too

[00:41:28] That would make the most sense

[00:41:30] Bjorn you're gonna have to help me out here. I don't have uh, the eighth book in the series

[00:41:35] But the eighth one

[00:41:36] Oh god

[00:41:37] Is going to be uh, be careful what you wish for

[00:41:41] Uh, i'll take kind of a sleeve. That's how special this is

[00:41:46] I'll take it out for you

[00:41:47] Odd choice for uh, an adapted episode

[00:41:51] Uh, if for a book

[00:41:53] I it's yeah, be careful what you wish for is both an unmemorable book and an unmemorable episode to me

[00:42:00] uh, in my personal opinion

[00:42:03] But uh, episode was okay

[00:42:06] I think it covers pretty cool

[00:42:07] It's not like in my top 10 or probably even top 20

[00:42:11] Oh, yeah, it's okay. It's just not one of my

[00:42:14] It's not one that i'm gonna be always remembering and be careful what you wish for

[00:42:19] Mine's definitely a first print too. I just checked it. No, I see

[00:42:25] basketball scene

[00:42:27] And there you got the girls being like, huh, she sucks

[00:42:32] One of them one of them's dennis in a basketball jersey. He's like

[00:42:39] It's good to be back on the team again

[00:42:43] Yeah, no, it's um, I think these later ones though

[00:42:47] Regardless like I think most of them would have just been first prints of these later ones kind of like series 2000

[00:42:53] When they just that's what i'm thinking to find the first prints or

[00:42:57] But yeah, pretty because that was the start I think of uh, the goosebumps decline and

[00:43:03] I don't know how well the book sales for these were at the time

[00:43:06] But since they weren't making very many to begin with

[00:43:09] Yeah, and I guess probably not well

[00:43:13] So many pages to like eight pages of photos

[00:43:18] Which is great because I can't read

[00:43:21] It seems like because the series went on they grabbed like

[00:43:25] Actual good photos because some of the earlier books had terrible photos going back to uh my hariest adventure

[00:43:32] Like some of these photos are super grainy and zoomed in like here take a look at this photo showing the instatan

[00:43:39] That is such a bad photograph

[00:43:42] It's so blurry you can barely see what it even says

[00:43:47] But um, yeah, be careful what you wish for

[00:43:50] 90s man is the 90s

[00:43:52] The 90s the noise

[00:43:54] All right moving on to number nine we got go eat worms aka one of the worst episodes

[00:44:03] why

[00:44:05] Yeah

[00:44:05] I don't know why these got books man

[00:44:08] Yeah, what could dead house should have been down into a tv book

[00:44:12] I wish scarecrow walks at midnight would have got one yeah scarecrow walks in midnight

[00:44:16] Oh, I totally been a good how did that not get one

[00:44:20] That would've been great, but nope we got go eat worms

[00:44:23] With uh, yeah another really odd choice for a cover photo

[00:44:30] They had to do go eat worms though like think about it like it's one of the best episodes they had to do it, right?

[00:44:35] Oh, yeah, man. Yeah, bro. There we go. We got the spaghetti and then

[00:44:43] That worm that just happened to look like

[00:44:49] Nobody's gonna finish that sentence you want me to do it i'll say it i'll say it right now

[00:44:53] I know what it looks like

[00:44:55] It looked like it looked like a big thumb

[00:45:02] Man, I don't have a single

[00:45:03] No, man, it looked like a weenus

[00:45:07] Where it is right there?

[00:45:10] Joint weenus

[00:45:11] Can you see it?

[00:45:12] It's so ridiculous. I can't believe they did a tv book of it though. Like I really I just like

[00:45:18] It's so stupid. Oh boy. Look at that

[00:45:22] Yeah, well, do you mean maybe they did the ones that did have more set photos that they could use for the book?

[00:45:28] Maybe who knows it's just really odd

[00:45:32] Choices like again, you know like scarecrow walks in midnight would have been a really good one

[00:45:37] Uh, they could have done ones for like I don't know shock around shock street or something like that. I know this

[00:45:45] These books were coming out around the time that the series was about to end anyway, so they totally could have done

[00:45:51] uh, some season three

[00:45:53] but um

[00:45:54] You know just yeah really odd choices

[00:45:58] But well very

[00:46:00] We're a few swamp

[00:46:02] Well, like I'm just back to

[00:46:05] Yeah, why we

[00:46:05] Do those because they were already on vhs. It's kind of like the um

[00:46:12] Uh one day of horror land. I think that's why they didn't do that one either

[00:46:15] Mm-hmm. Yeah

[00:46:18] They could have done uh, you know how to kill monster

[00:46:23] Didn't get any of those

[00:46:24] Yeah, that would be a cool one

[00:46:26] Again, no sage can die

[00:46:28] No piano lessons. No fan of the auditorium

[00:46:31] There's a lot of them they could have done

[00:46:35] We got bad hair day

[00:46:39] We got we

[00:46:40] We are so glad they did that one, you know

[00:46:44] But nothing's gonna be you know my hair is to venture or

[00:46:47] Return of the mummy. I mean those were classic episodes

[00:46:54] Why did they do it came from beneath the sink?

[00:46:58] Oh, yeah, they could do that. Yeah, no I like this photo looks like he's enjoying uh tormenting the guy

[00:47:03] It looks like he's having a blast try the cat

[00:47:07] Try the cat

[00:47:09] That would have been a late one as well like to come out really late

[00:47:13] Brian living dummy

[00:47:14] He could have done two scanties. So I can see the the mom who was allergic to cats

[00:47:19] Yeah, oh my god messed up

[00:47:22] There's uh, el sidney and the two rabbits

[00:47:25] El sidney and then in the book he's literally the bunny rabbit is

[00:47:29] named amazer. See there's a few changes

[00:47:33] We give up

[00:47:34] In the book two changes and they still weren't any better

[00:47:40] No, because

[00:47:41] All right, next up

[00:47:42] We got let's get invisible

[00:47:45] Oh, yes, good episode

[00:47:47] I don't know why

[00:47:49] I have one copy of that. That's weird

[00:47:51] I had two

[00:47:54] I had two first edition copy

[00:47:58] Yours is

[00:47:59] I don't have a single first edition of girl cry monster. I can't believe it

[00:48:02] I have a third and I have like four fives. They're all really nice condition, but like

[00:48:07] That's just ridiculous because now we know there was five printings of girl cry monster

[00:48:12] Hence why you find that one the most at least

[00:48:16] Yeah, it's crazy could have been more

[00:48:19] Should have been more ten prints

[00:48:23] I gotta find a throw

[00:48:24] I probably had a first of that but see I actually traded a lot of girl cry monster ones over the years

[00:48:28] But I never looked at the first prints back then so I probably had one

[00:48:32] I just

[00:48:33] Yeah, I never

[00:48:35] I thought at least if I had a second one, I wouldn't be so bad but geez a third

[00:48:39] Hmm weird, but I uh, I really like I actually kind of like let's get invisible

[00:48:43] I thought it was an interesting episode kind of an under like it

[00:48:46] Yeah, I think it's a little underrated

[00:48:50] It's a classic goosebumps episode in my opinion. Um underrated

[00:48:53] How do you prefer the book or do you prefer the episode?

[00:48:59] I mean, it's been forever since I read the book. I would say probably the episode

[00:49:04] It's got all the traits of a classic goosebumps like you've got like

[00:49:08] You know, you've got the the you know, you got your kids you got the you got the creepy mirror

[00:49:13] You got the music you got the oh the the house is the same house they used in um

[00:49:19] Oh god

[00:49:21] I'm drawing a blank but the the house that they used was reused in another episode

[00:49:26] the same house and from the outside

[00:49:28] uh

[00:49:30] That house

[00:49:32] No, no

[00:49:35] Oh my god, i'm trying to remember that. I can't remember but the house let's

[00:49:39] How's it return you guys comment down below?

[00:49:42] What house was what other episode was it used? It was there was two episodes that used the same house and it was let's get invisible and another one

[00:49:49] Just can't remember the other one, but I I might have been say cheese and die maybe

[00:49:54] Um, i'm just yeah, trying to remember but oh no, it wasn't say cheese and die. No, that wasn't

[00:50:00] Just trying to go through each episode of my brain and try to remember which one it was

[00:50:04] But it was definitely reused twice. I just can't remember the other one, but we'll find it

[00:50:10] I'll have to find we'll have to go canada's biggest goosebump fan would know

[00:50:14] Who knows she would know

[00:50:17] All right, the next two I don't have so bjorn i'm gonna need your help again next one

[00:50:21] Book number 12 is another two-part

[00:50:23] I didn't get my books out for this. I figured they both have this covered. We didn't need a third person having the whole set here

[00:50:29] We have attack of the mutant or number 12 another two-parter

[00:50:38] Yeah

[00:50:41] Attack of the mutants

[00:50:42] Yep, there's your attack. You guys tv presents

[00:50:46] There's a there's our buddy. Scott

[00:50:48] Scott is Scott. I've got a random barcode sticker on the back, but I don't want to rip it off

[00:50:53] I'll have to get some heat. Look how white those pages are inside man white

[00:51:00] And uh, I will go to the color photos as well

[00:51:04] This is a first printing very nice

[00:51:08] We got

[00:51:12] And we've got skipper and his girlfriend

[00:51:15] Having a nice little uh

[00:51:16] He's nice

[00:51:18] His girlfriend

[00:51:21] His girlfriend

[00:51:22] He doesn't even like girls the girls had cooties then

[00:51:26] He also had cooties back then

[00:51:27] He's reading his

[00:51:29] Back then

[00:51:30] They don't now

[00:51:31] It's cooties bro

[00:51:32] Cooties have been around since the dawn of time

[00:51:35] Since the dawn of time

[00:51:38] Yeah, they are in the

[00:51:40] I'm surprised I didn't get a color photo of the uh

[00:51:43] The bus that had goosebumps two thumbs up

[00:51:46] That would've been cool

[00:51:46] Yeah, that would've been cool

[00:51:50] A little bit

[00:51:51] Um

[00:51:53] Yeah

[00:51:54] We got these

[00:51:55] I would like that standee

[00:51:57] And we got the masculine there

[00:52:01] There he is

[00:52:02] He looks jazzed

[00:52:03] He looks ready to go

[00:52:03] They didn't get to let him keep the costume

[00:52:07] Yeah

[00:52:07] They would have him keep his costume

[00:52:09] I was gonna say

[00:52:10] Well, that was in his contract

[00:52:11] But yeah

[00:52:12] They should've let Scott

[00:52:13] I guess keep the costume

[00:52:14] Otherwise, I'm not doing it

[00:52:17] Then we got him reading his comic book for his dead

[00:52:19] Was like

[00:52:20] Hey

[00:52:21] Oh, you're

[00:52:22] Stuffing

[00:52:23] What was it?

[00:52:24] Drigonometry

[00:52:24] Are you supposed to be doing math?

[00:52:28] Wild

[00:52:28] Nerd

[00:52:29] Is Adam West

[00:52:30] Nerd

[00:52:31] It is

[00:52:34] Mr. Adam West

[00:52:37] Yeah

[00:52:38] Here I can describe this episode in one word

[00:52:40] And it's from the

[00:52:41] That one Simpsons episode

[00:52:44] Nerd

[00:52:50] We got one more page

[00:52:52] In the back

[00:52:53] Oh, he's falling

[00:52:54] And he can't get up

[00:52:56] That's a great shot

[00:52:58] That's a guy with some awesome lighting

[00:52:59] Yeah

[00:53:00] That's a really good picture

[00:53:01] That's one we should've got signed

[00:53:03] So you could've

[00:53:04] You know what you could've done

[00:53:04] We could've even like

[00:53:06] These

[00:53:07] What do you get?

[00:53:07] Scanned?

[00:53:09] And they got some really high res

[00:53:10] Images from these

[00:53:12] This was actually an old library copy of the book

[00:53:14] I just realized

[00:53:16] He's got like the

[00:53:18] Library thing there

[00:53:20] This is my other copy

[00:53:21] I have two of these

[00:53:22] I got two of these

[00:53:23] This is my library edition

[00:53:25] But I like finding

[00:53:26] Old Goosebumps library books

[00:53:27] Because it tells that story

[00:53:28] You know

[00:53:29] Like this TV book

[00:53:30] Was a library book

[00:53:31] Do you know what I mean?

[00:53:32] Like it's not even original 62

[00:53:34] But even this was at a library

[00:53:36] I think it's kind of unique in a way

[00:53:38] That like even the TV books were

[00:53:40] Found in libraries

[00:53:41] And this was from

[00:53:42] Iowa

[00:53:44] There you go

[00:53:46] I made its way

[00:53:47] All the way to Australia

[00:53:48] Yep

[00:53:49] From Cedar Rapids

[00:53:50] I found this

[00:53:51] I found this in a bookstore here

[00:53:55] That's the weird thing

[00:53:56] It was at a bookstore for sale

[00:53:57] So someone had brought it over

[00:54:00] It ended up at a bookstore

[00:54:01] But

[00:54:02] And in the back

[00:54:03] I'll see if there's anything

[00:54:04] Oh, it's just the usual

[00:54:06] Oh, it's advertising the

[00:54:08] Cool scary caps

[00:54:11] Yeah

[00:54:14] Scurry caps

[00:54:16] But to think that even the TV books

[00:54:18] Were in libraries

[00:54:19] Not just the original 62

[00:54:20] So there we go

[00:54:21] Yeah

[00:54:21] Kids were getting their filthy myths

[00:54:23] On those rare books

[00:54:25] Yeah, it's a random library edition

[00:54:27] Of this book

[00:54:29] I think it's kind of

[00:54:30] I like when you get a Goosebump book

[00:54:32] That tells a story

[00:54:33] This is one of those

[00:54:34] Like interesting ones

[00:54:35] Because it's a TV book

[00:54:36] And it's one of the later TV books

[00:54:38] I like that

[00:54:40] I like that very much

[00:54:41] Blackstein

[00:54:43] Very interesting

[00:54:45] But it was very well looked up

[00:54:47] Regardless

[00:54:47] Because it's very white

[00:54:48] On the inside

[00:54:49] Next book is

[00:54:51] Of course

[00:54:52] Book number

[00:54:53] 13

[00:54:54] Walking number 13

[00:54:57] Ghost beach

[00:54:58] Ghost beach

[00:54:59] Let's take it out

[00:55:01] Of the packet

[00:55:02] Such an amazing

[00:55:03] Cover for the book

[00:55:05] Such an amazing concept

[00:55:07] For the story

[00:55:08] Such bad execution

[00:55:10] For the episode

[00:55:10] Do you see the opening

[00:55:12] In those rocks?

[00:55:14] And it was the

[00:55:15] Skeleton faces

[00:55:17] No

[00:55:18] Yeah

[00:55:21] Stay with us

[00:55:23] Yeah

[00:55:24] Like the first winter

[00:55:26] It wasn't fair

[00:55:29] This is a really nice addition to it

[00:55:31] But it's got a random

[00:55:32] So Warner Brothers

[00:55:33] A random

[00:55:35] Sticker

[00:55:35] Oh my god

[00:55:36] But I never wanted to take it off

[00:55:38] I never wanted to take it off though

[00:55:40] Because it's from 1997

[00:55:43] And it's a stamp

[00:55:44] Which is why I was like

[00:55:45] I could have taken it off

[00:55:46] And it's not like stuck on

[00:55:47] I could pull it off

[00:55:48] But I really don't want to

[00:55:49] I really like that sticker

[00:55:52] For some reason

[00:55:53] I didn't want to take it off

[00:55:54] Because I was like

[00:55:54] It's 1997

[00:55:56] Around that time

[00:55:57] As well

[00:55:57] So someone bought this book

[00:55:58] And put that sticker on it

[00:56:00] Back then in 1997

[00:56:01] So I'm like

[00:56:02] I'm gonna keep it on there

[00:56:03] It was just a generic

[00:56:04] You know

[00:56:05] Barcode stick

[00:56:06] The only way to make this

[00:56:07] Episode interesting

[00:56:08] Is to put Bugs Bunny on it

[00:56:10] Blue condition man

[00:56:12] White

[00:56:13] Very beautiful

[00:56:15] And uh

[00:56:16] This is also a first print

[00:56:17] I'm gonna say most of these

[00:56:18] Later ones were just

[00:56:19] First prints to be honest

[00:56:20] Yeah I was gonna say

[00:56:21] I imagine

[00:56:22] Past the

[00:56:23] First five or six

[00:56:25] They just

[00:56:27] One maybe

[00:56:28] Second print

[00:56:30] It's a little bit like

[00:56:31] River Phoenix in that picture

[00:56:32] For some reason

[00:56:34] And then we got the

[00:56:35] She does?

[00:56:36] He does

[00:56:37] He does

[00:56:38] A little bit

[00:56:38] A little bit of both

[00:56:39] A little bit of both

[00:56:41] She kinda does too

[00:56:44] A little bit of both

[00:56:46] Hey

[00:56:46] This is actually one of my

[00:56:48] Better condition

[00:56:49] Goosebump

[00:56:49] TV Presents books

[00:56:51] It's really nice

[00:56:52] Um

[00:56:52] Very white

[00:56:55] So what'd you guys think

[00:56:56] Of the ending

[00:56:56] Into that episode?

[00:56:59] Um

[00:56:59] Not

[00:57:00] And going into the cave

[00:57:02] And crap

[00:57:03] But I'm talking about the

[00:57:04] What were they

[00:57:05] Related to them

[00:57:06] Like their grandparents

[00:57:07] I mean it's creepy

[00:57:08] But it's not like

[00:57:11] It's more kind of

[00:57:12] Weird than creepy

[00:57:13] To me

[00:57:14] It's a really bad

[00:57:15] Quality picture

[00:57:16] Well see

[00:57:16] The only thing that

[00:57:18] I thought of

[00:57:18] Like after they did

[00:57:19] The reveal

[00:57:20] I was like

[00:57:21] Oh yeah

[00:57:21] As a kid you're like

[00:57:22] You don't think about it

[00:57:23] It's like oh man

[00:57:23] That's kinda creepy

[00:57:24] Yeah

[00:57:24] But then like

[00:57:26] As I went back

[00:57:27] And watched that episode

[00:57:28] I don't know

[00:57:28] Maybe like last year

[00:57:29] Or something

[00:57:30] Didn't they get sent there

[00:57:32] By their parents right?

[00:57:34] Mmhmm

[00:57:34] And aren't they dead?

[00:57:36] Wouldn't the parents

[00:57:36] Not know

[00:57:37] Yeah

[00:57:38] That they're dead?

[00:57:40] Yeah

[00:57:40] The whole point of

[00:57:41] The whole ending

[00:57:42] Is that they're dead

[00:57:43] They're ghosts

[00:57:44] So it's like

[00:57:45] Their parents

[00:57:45] Shipped them off

[00:57:46] To dead people

[00:57:47] Yeah

[00:57:48] It's like

[00:57:48] It's like

[00:57:49] Oh

[00:57:50] So are their parents

[00:57:52] In on it

[00:57:52] Or are they just stupid?

[00:57:53] It's like

[00:57:55] Also the insinuation

[00:57:56] They're gonna eat the dog

[00:57:57] Is like

[00:57:58] Are they gonna eat the dog?

[00:58:00] They're gonna make the kids

[00:58:01] Eat the dog too?

[00:58:04] Yes

[00:58:04] Yeah

[00:58:07] The ghost of Harrison Sadler

[00:58:10] He's like

[00:58:11] That's not a ghost

[00:58:13] That's not a ghost

[00:58:14] That's not a ghost at all

[00:58:16] That's a guy

[00:58:19] A Scooby-Doo reveal

[00:58:20] Yeah

[00:58:22] Jerry Sadler

[00:58:24] Harry and Jerry Scrooge

[00:58:26] This is your fate

[00:58:28] Don't go back to Chicago

[00:58:30] Wherever you're from

[00:58:31] And stop fucking around

[00:58:35] This episode

[00:58:38] And Harry's adventure

[00:58:39] And don't go to sleep

[00:58:40] Are always going to remind me

[00:58:42] Of Jon Tron

[00:58:42] Because I'm always going to

[00:58:43] Think about what he says

[00:58:44] Yeah

[00:58:45] Like

[00:58:46] Ghosts

[00:58:47] I don't like them

[00:58:48] None personal

[00:58:48] Just a cultural thing

[00:58:50] How did those three

[00:58:51] Get TV Presents books?

[00:58:52] I'll never know

[00:58:54] Don't go to sleep

[00:58:57] Didn't

[00:58:57] Oh

[00:58:58] Sorry

[00:58:59] Oh yeah

[00:58:59] No

[00:58:59] Those two

[00:59:00] How did they

[00:59:02] Get TV Presents books

[00:59:03] Over like

[00:59:03] I don't know

[00:59:04] Yep

[00:59:05] Scarecrow and Vampire Breath

[00:59:06] They didn't get any

[00:59:07] But you know

[00:59:08] Go Eat Worms

[00:59:09] And Bad Hair Day

[00:59:10] And Ghost Beach

[00:59:11] They got

[00:59:12] They got all that

[00:59:13] They all got

[00:59:14] All got the books

[00:59:15] No Scarecrow Walks

[00:59:16] At Midnight

[00:59:18] Yes bro

[00:59:19] But now we're getting

[00:59:20] Into the

[00:59:21] The real nitty gritty

[00:59:22] Of this series

[00:59:23] Now we're getting

[00:59:23] Into the

[00:59:24] Maybe except

[00:59:25] One of these

[00:59:26] But we're getting

[00:59:27] Into the real

[00:59:28] Diamonds in the rough

[00:59:29] Over here

[00:59:30] Starting off

[00:59:31] A diamond

[00:59:32] In the rough

[00:59:33] With You Can't Scare Me

[00:59:35] Number 14

[00:59:36] And we just had

[00:59:39] Charlotte Sullivan

[00:59:40] On our last episode

[00:59:41] Go check it out

[00:59:41] If you haven't already

[00:59:42] Go check it out

[00:59:43] If you haven't

[00:59:44] But it's a great episode

[00:59:46] This is the 14th book

[00:59:48] Based on

[00:59:49] You Can't Scare Me

[00:59:50] And again

[00:59:52] Nothing too special

[00:59:53] About these

[00:59:53] Although it has

[00:59:54] An amazing picture

[00:59:55] Of the mud monster

[00:59:56] On the inside

[00:59:57] Right down here

[00:59:58] That is a really good picture

[01:00:00] Yeah that is a great photo

[01:00:01] Also did you ever notice

[01:00:03] Guys that

[01:00:03] The

[01:00:04] I don't know

[01:00:05] If this is like

[01:00:06] Too obvious or not

[01:00:07] But the drawing here

[01:00:08] Almost looks exactly

[01:00:09] Like the Tim Jacobus art

[01:00:11] And it's such a good drawing

[01:00:13] I remember thinking

[01:00:14] When I watched it

[01:00:15] He didn't draw that

[01:00:16] Like it looks

[01:00:17] Pretty damn good

[01:00:18] You know what I mean

[01:00:19] For something he's just

[01:00:19] Sketched when he was

[01:00:20] What like 12

[01:00:21] I was like no way

[01:00:23] That's one of the things

[01:00:24] That always annoyed me

[01:00:26] And then we got

[01:00:27] This one here

[01:00:29] That would be a good one

[01:00:30] To get her to sign

[01:00:31] Nick

[01:00:31] You just

[01:00:31] You screen capture that

[01:00:33] Go get a scanner

[01:00:34] And just scan that up

[01:00:35] Really high res

[01:00:36] And just be like

[01:00:37] Sign that

[01:00:39] Yep

[01:00:40] Sign this

[01:00:41] And then there's

[01:00:42] The ending there

[01:00:43] So this is definitely

[01:00:45] One of the first

[01:00:46] Like

[01:00:46] Which gives Isaiah

[01:00:47] Just like

[01:00:48] Goosebumps

[01:00:51] I like it

[01:00:52] This is one of the first

[01:00:53] Like really rare ones

[01:00:54] Really valuable ones

[01:00:55] In the TV Presents series

[01:00:57] Is You Can't Scare Me

[01:00:59] Just kind of weird

[01:00:59] When you think about it

[01:01:00] Because

[01:01:01] It kind of jumps

[01:01:03] Real suddenly

[01:01:05] That one didn't used to be

[01:01:06] And now all of a sudden

[01:01:07] It's like a $60, $70 book

[01:01:10] Well even Ghost Beach

[01:01:11] Is somewhat rare

[01:01:12] Like you don't see

[01:01:13] Ghost Beach

[01:01:14] Commonly either

[01:01:15] But it's

[01:01:16] The price is only

[01:01:18] Just going to go up

[01:01:19] On those ones eventually

[01:01:20] Like Ghost Beach

[01:01:21] Will go up

[01:01:22] You watch

[01:01:22] That'll jump up

[01:01:23] At some point

[01:01:25] Because even mine

[01:01:26] Was a first print

[01:01:27] I don't think many

[01:01:27] Of those later ones

[01:01:28] Had second or thirds

[01:01:29] And if they did

[01:01:30] Like Completionist said

[01:01:32] Kind of like

[01:01:33] With the series 2000s

[01:01:34] Like Slappy's Nightmare

[01:01:34] In a third print

[01:01:36] That's like

[01:01:36] Rare as

[01:01:37] Because

[01:01:38] You know

[01:01:39] You just

[01:01:40] It was unheard of

[01:01:41] To find later books

[01:01:42] And prints like that

[01:01:43] Yeah

[01:01:44] Right

[01:01:45] Yeah

[01:01:45] So Mutant

[01:01:46] Ghost Beach

[01:01:47] Still not commonly found

[01:01:49] But definitely more expensive

[01:01:51] Than You Can't Scare Me

[01:01:53] Yeah

[01:01:53] They're in about the

[01:01:54] $20

[01:01:56] $25 range

[01:01:57] But that's why I say

[01:01:58] It really jumps up

[01:01:59] When you get to

[01:02:00] You Can't Scare Me

[01:02:00] Of like

[01:02:01] $60, $70

[01:02:03] Yeah

[01:02:04] But

[01:02:05] One that's not as rare

[01:02:07] At least from what I've seen

[01:02:09] Is surprisingly

[01:02:10] The next book in the series

[01:02:12] Monster Blood

[01:02:14] Because it's Monster Blood

[01:02:15] Yeah

[01:02:16] Monster Blood

[01:02:17] For whatever reason

[01:02:17] Is actually

[01:02:18] One of the later

[01:02:19] In the series

[01:02:20] That is a little more

[01:02:21] Common to find

[01:02:21] And not as expensive

[01:02:22] This was another one

[01:02:24] Of the first ones

[01:02:25] That I got

[01:02:25] Surprisingly enough

[01:02:26] Was this one

[01:02:29] So

[01:02:31] I don't know

[01:02:32] It was

[01:02:32] It was really

[01:02:33] It's really weird

[01:02:33] To think back

[01:02:34] To be like

[01:02:35] Wow

[01:02:35] I found

[01:02:36] One of these

[01:02:37] First

[01:02:38] When I was

[01:02:39] Collecting the series

[01:02:40] Yeah

[01:02:41] But again

[01:02:41] Nothing to

[01:02:42] Not super hard to find

[01:02:43] I paid $5

[01:02:44] For my

[01:02:45] You can't scam me

[01:02:46] There you go

[01:02:48] Oh aren't you

[01:02:49] Just special

[01:02:50] $5

[01:02:52] That's all I'm gonna pay

[01:02:53] Bjorn loves to rub it on face

[01:02:55] How easily he finds things

[01:02:57] I don't remember what I paid for mine

[01:02:58] But I know I didn't pay

[01:02:59] Like

[01:02:59] The crazy prices

[01:03:00] It's going for right now

[01:03:02] I think I did end up

[01:03:03] Paying maybe like

[01:03:04] 20 or

[01:03:05] 30 bucks for it

[01:03:07] Yeah

[01:03:08] You can't scam me

[01:03:09] But this one I got for free

[01:03:10] Yeah

[01:03:11] I didn't pay $5

[01:03:12] That's for sure

[01:03:15] Alright

[01:03:16] But

[01:03:17] Now we get into the

[01:03:18] What I call

[01:03:19] The holy trinity

[01:03:20] Of goosebumps

[01:03:21] TV presents

[01:03:22] Holy trinity

[01:03:23] Now

[01:03:24] I don't have

[01:03:25] Two of those

[01:03:25] I only have one

[01:03:26] Holy shit

[01:03:27] So

[01:03:28] Bjorn

[01:03:29] I'm gonna need your help

[01:03:29] One last time

[01:03:31] For 16 and 17

[01:03:34] Going up with number 16

[01:03:36] 17

[01:03:39] Attack of the jack

[01:03:40] Four houses

[01:03:43] Let's pull it out

[01:03:46] Let's pull it out

[01:03:47] Now I gotta say

[01:03:48] These last three

[01:03:49] Yeah

[01:03:50] Last three

[01:03:51] Have a

[01:03:51] Really good photos on them

[01:03:53] I love that photo

[01:03:54] Of the

[01:03:55] The jack-o-lanterns

[01:03:56] On the front cover

[01:03:58] I apparently paid $6

[01:03:59] I will say

[01:04:00] I'm very happy that

[01:04:01] They made this

[01:04:02] Into a TV presents book

[01:04:04] It's definitely

[01:04:05] It's one of my faves

[01:04:06] It's definitely a must

[01:04:08] One that you would

[01:04:09] Want to have as a kid

[01:04:11] There they are

[01:04:12] The

[01:04:12] Troopers

[01:04:13] For them

[01:04:14] The children

[01:04:15] These two

[01:04:16] There are the children

[01:04:18] Drew

[01:04:19] Happy

[01:04:21] Yeah

[01:04:22] Then we got the

[01:04:23] Look at that

[01:04:26] Look at those

[01:04:27] Pretties

[01:04:29] Look at these guys

[01:04:30] Yeah

[01:04:31] The jack-o-lanterns

[01:04:32] Are very pretty

[01:04:33] Stormy night

[01:04:35] There's a stormy night

[01:04:38] You know what I wish

[01:04:39] I wish they had a photo

[01:04:40] Of those

[01:04:41] Two creepy old people

[01:04:42] In here

[01:04:44] I'm surprised they don't

[01:04:46] And it's like

[01:04:47] And then I had a dream

[01:04:48] That I was at this house

[01:04:49] And that could be like

[01:04:50] The image

[01:04:53] That's literally the guy

[01:04:55] Why

[01:04:56] That was such a great photo

[01:04:57] For them to take

[01:04:59] I don't

[01:05:00] Thank you so much

[01:05:01] Yeah

[01:05:03] More houses

[01:05:05] More houses

[01:05:07] Now it's empty

[01:05:09] I was wondering why

[01:05:09] They had like

[01:05:10] Crab claws

[01:05:12] Or lobster claws

[01:05:13] Because they're lobsters

[01:05:15] Lobster puns

[01:05:16] What was up with that?

[01:05:17] Jack-o-lantern

[01:05:18] Lobsters

[01:05:20] Fire

[01:05:21] Jack-o-lobsters

[01:05:22] And then we got

[01:05:25] One more page here

[01:05:27] These two

[01:05:30] Look at them laughing

[01:05:31] Shane and Shauna

[01:05:32] The end of the aliens

[01:05:33] Just having a grand old time

[01:05:34] As far as they did

[01:05:35] With the alien photos

[01:05:36] Of them

[01:05:37] Really sad

[01:05:38] They're really weird

[01:05:39] Like earthworm

[01:05:40] Gem heads

[01:05:41] Yeah

[01:05:42] That were green

[01:05:42] I love that

[01:05:44] That was a great

[01:05:44] A great design

[01:05:45] For them

[01:05:47] Yeah

[01:05:48] That was so weird

[01:05:49] How do they eat

[01:05:51] Bulldog adults

[01:05:52] With mouths that small?

[01:05:54] They look like

[01:05:55] They also look like

[01:05:56] Those

[01:05:57] Muppets

[01:05:57] What was it?

[01:06:00] Is it

[01:06:01] Meek?

[01:06:01] Yeah

[01:06:02] It was like

[01:06:03] Beaker

[01:06:04] No

[01:06:05] It's like

[01:06:06] Beaker

[01:06:06] Yeah

[01:06:07] Like the flat mouth

[01:06:08] Yeah

[01:06:08] He's like

[01:06:09] Meek

[01:06:09] Meek

[01:06:10] Meek

[01:06:10] Meek

[01:06:10] Meek

[01:06:11] Meek

[01:06:11] That's what they look like

[01:06:14] Big old bug eyes

[01:06:16] And the

[01:06:17] The mouth that like

[01:06:18] Looked like a mailbox

[01:06:19] Just opening and closing

[01:06:20] All the time

[01:06:21] Alright

[01:06:21] We're down to the last two guys

[01:06:23] Last two

[01:06:24] Calling all creeps

[01:06:26] Number 17

[01:06:28] Another really good photo

[01:06:29] On that fan book

[01:06:30] Yeah

[01:06:31] This is one of my

[01:06:32] Really good condition ones too

[01:06:33] Like it's

[01:06:34] Beautifit

[01:06:36] Beautifit

[01:06:38] With the pristine copy

[01:06:40] You have there Bjorn

[01:06:41] Very pristine copy

[01:06:42] Of calling all creeps

[01:06:44] And I paid also

[01:06:45] Six

[01:06:46] Six dollars

[01:06:49] Still faded over time

[01:06:50] But

[01:06:50] And look how white

[01:06:52] Each beauty feed

[01:06:54] Okay

[01:06:55] It's like it was never red

[01:06:57] So triste

[01:06:58] So clean

[01:07:00] Oh here we go

[01:07:01] Probably wasn't

[01:07:02] Sure wasn't my book

[01:07:03] Cause I don't read

[01:07:05] There's Ricky

[01:07:06] Ricky the rat

[01:07:08] Ricky the rat

[01:07:10] Ricky the rat

[01:07:12] There's his friends

[01:07:14] Look at him just like

[01:07:15] I don't think

[01:07:15] You want another

[01:07:16] Whiff of his onion breath

[01:07:18] They weren't friends yet

[01:07:19] No they weren't

[01:07:20] Whiff

[01:07:23] I want onion breath

[01:07:24] Really

[01:07:27] Yeah

[01:07:28] Like you

[01:07:29] And then there's

[01:07:30] Cry the cat girl

[01:07:33] There is

[01:07:36] I like that picture

[01:07:37] The creeps me

[01:07:39] Why can't we get

[01:07:40] These guys to like

[01:07:41] Be on the podcast

[01:07:42] Like these guys

[01:07:43] Are we cool

[01:07:44] Can't find them man

[01:07:46] Whoa

[01:07:47] Look at those

[01:07:48] Love to talk to them

[01:07:49] See I like the look

[01:07:52] Of the creep

[01:07:52] In this

[01:07:53] I mean granted

[01:07:54] We discussed

[01:07:55] It does look

[01:07:56] Like a Gorn

[01:07:57] From Star Trek

[01:07:58] But I'm just saying

[01:07:59] It still looks cool

[01:08:01] Yeah it looks really nice

[01:08:02] I like it

[01:08:03] Would it be awesome

[01:08:04] If they looked

[01:08:04] Like the book cover

[01:08:05] As well

[01:08:06] And how they were

[01:08:07] Described

[01:08:07] Yes

[01:08:08] Still would it look

[01:08:09] Good that way too

[01:08:10] Like the Goosebumps

[01:08:11] Movie did

[01:08:12] But

[01:08:14] The Goosebumps

[01:08:14] Movie actually

[01:08:15] Got the design right

[01:08:16] Like

[01:08:17] The budget

[01:08:18] More accurate

[01:08:19] More accurate

[01:08:20] Than the TV show did

[01:08:21] I think that's one

[01:08:22] Of the few

[01:08:22] Designers

[01:08:23] Of the movie

[01:08:23] That people said

[01:08:24] They liked more

[01:08:25] Because it was

[01:08:25] More accurate

[01:08:28] That was like

[01:08:29] Pretty much it

[01:08:29] There wasn't many

[01:08:30] That people

[01:08:32] This is one

[01:08:33] I think the

[01:08:33] The creeps

[01:08:34] Is one of the

[01:08:34] Few things

[01:08:35] That people went

[01:08:36] Wow they're even

[01:08:36] Wearing like the

[01:08:37] Hoodie

[01:08:37] And the

[01:08:39] Like they really

[01:08:40] Kind of did the

[01:08:41] They really went

[01:08:42] All out to look

[01:08:42] Like the cover

[01:08:43] Which is

[01:08:44] You know

[01:08:44] It would be kind

[01:08:44] Of neat

[01:08:45] If we saw

[01:08:45] Like as much

[01:08:46] As I love

[01:08:46] The jack-o-lantern

[01:08:47] And attack

[01:08:48] Of the jack-o-lanterns

[01:08:50] Technically I guess

[01:08:50] They could keep

[01:08:51] The heads

[01:08:52] But again

[01:08:53] I don't like

[01:08:53] The

[01:08:55] Lobster claw

[01:08:55] Thing

[01:08:56] Like I don't

[01:08:56] Understand that

[01:08:57] Like I think

[01:08:59] It would have been

[01:08:59] Pretty cool

[01:09:00] If they did

[01:09:00] What the book

[01:09:01] Described as

[01:09:02] Yeah

[01:09:03] And just kind of

[01:09:04] Went there

[01:09:04] But that's alright

[01:09:05] I still liked it

[01:09:07] I still liked it

[01:09:07] A lot

[01:09:09] But then even though

[01:09:10] Sloppy was more

[01:09:11] Book accurate in the movie

[01:09:12] I still think he looked

[01:09:13] Better in the show

[01:09:14] True story

[01:09:16] He looked creepier

[01:09:17] In the show

[01:09:17] Yep

[01:09:19] Yep yep yep

[01:09:20] Far scarier

[01:09:23] Alrighty

[01:09:23] It's time to get

[01:09:24] To the final

[01:09:24] In the finale

[01:09:26] The final book

[01:09:27] In the Goosebumps

[01:09:28] TV Presents

[01:09:29] Series

[01:09:32] Revenge of the Law Gnomes

[01:09:34] Because it's just

[01:09:37] The very clear

[01:09:39] End of this

[01:09:40] Franchise

[01:09:40] Or this series

[01:09:42] Yeah

[01:09:43] Revenge of the Law Gnomes

[01:09:44] This is considered

[01:09:44] To be

[01:09:45] Maybe not

[01:09:46] I don't know

[01:09:47] What

[01:09:47] What would you guys

[01:09:48] Think is maybe

[01:09:49] The rarest

[01:09:49] Of these three

[01:09:50] Because I've heard

[01:09:51] It flip flop a lot

[01:09:53] Calling all creeps

[01:09:54] Calling all creeps

[01:09:55] Is rare right now

[01:09:56] You would say that

[01:09:57] Because for a while

[01:09:58] I see

[01:10:00] Revenge of the Law Gnomes

[01:10:01] And I see

[01:10:02] Attack of the Jack-o-lanterns

[01:10:03] Quite a bit

[01:10:05] You'll always

[01:10:06] Typically find those

[01:10:07] But I've only seen

[01:10:08] Maybe

[01:10:09] Three

[01:10:09] Calling all creeps

[01:10:10] In the last year

[01:10:11] Come around

[01:10:12] For sale

[01:10:13] So I mean

[01:10:14] I'm going to say

[01:10:14] Calling all creeps

[01:10:15] But Revenge of the Law Gnomes

[01:10:17] Is certainly

[01:10:18] Probably the one

[01:10:19] You're going to be

[01:10:19] Paying a butt ton

[01:10:20] Of money to find

[01:10:22] This is the last book

[01:10:23] Oh those last three

[01:10:24] The last book

[01:10:25] In the series

[01:10:26] That was released

[01:10:28] No different than anything

[01:10:30] It's just a rarity

[01:10:31] I guess

[01:10:32] But this is the last one

[01:10:34] The very last

[01:10:36] Color photo

[01:10:37] In a Goosebumps

[01:10:38] TV Presents

[01:10:38] Is of the Colonel's

[01:10:40] Law Gnomes

[01:10:42] Form

[01:10:42] Major

[01:10:43] What do I like that

[01:10:44] Or the Major

[01:10:45] Yeah

[01:10:45] So it was the Major

[01:10:47] See

[01:10:47] I made that mistake

[01:10:48] Before too

[01:10:49] I was like

[01:10:50] What the hell

[01:10:51] Was his rank

[01:10:51] But

[01:10:52] It was Major McCall

[01:10:54] Yep

[01:10:55] Major McCall

[01:10:56] And it was Joe Burton

[01:10:58] Who wrote the

[01:10:58] That was him at the back

[01:11:01] Now one thing

[01:11:02] We gotta

[01:11:02] Bring up on the back

[01:11:04] Is that

[01:11:05] There is a

[01:11:07] Another book

[01:11:08] That is advertised

[01:11:09] In the back there

[01:11:10] Number 19

[01:11:11] The Blob

[01:11:12] That Ate Everyone

[01:11:12] Unfortunately

[01:11:14] It doesn't exist

[01:11:15] It does exist

[01:11:16] Or does it

[01:11:17] It exists

[01:11:18] I'm telling you

[01:11:19] It exists

[01:11:20] It does

[01:11:21] I have proof

[01:11:22] I will get

[01:11:23] There may only be

[01:11:24] One copy out there

[01:11:25] And you know what

[01:11:26] We will do an entire

[01:11:27] Podcast episode

[01:11:28] On just that one thing

[01:11:30] When I get those

[01:11:31] We're gonna talk about it

[01:11:32] For two hours

[01:11:34] I hope you guys

[01:11:34] We honestly could though

[01:11:36] I feel like we would

[01:11:37] Look at every detail

[01:11:38] Of those pictures

[01:11:39] And we probably could

[01:11:40] Because then we would

[01:11:41] Probably just talk

[01:11:42] About what could have

[01:11:44] Come after that

[01:11:44] You know like

[01:11:46] That'll keep

[01:11:46] Well it's gonna make me

[01:11:47] Wonder if

[01:11:48] It had a

[01:11:50] Preview of what

[01:11:51] The next one was

[01:11:51] Gonna be

[01:11:52] After

[01:11:52] Blobby Everyone

[01:11:55] Maybe it was

[01:11:56] My best friend

[01:11:56] Maybe

[01:11:57] Maybe it was

[01:11:59] My best friend's

[01:12:00] Invisible

[01:12:00] Or maybe it was

[01:12:02] Shock around

[01:12:03] Shock Street

[01:12:04] No it was

[01:12:05] Or

[01:12:05] Piano

[01:12:06] Walks at midnight

[01:12:08] Honestly

[01:12:09] The ones I would

[01:12:10] Take is like

[01:12:11] Piano lessons

[01:12:12] Shock Street

[01:12:13] Or Scarecrow

[01:12:14] Walks at midnight

[01:12:15] As the next one

[01:12:16] I would do

[01:12:17] Vampire Breath too

[01:12:17] Like I said

[01:12:18] Or How to Kill a Monster

[01:12:19] Those two are good

[01:12:21] But that is

[01:12:22] The Goosebumps

[01:12:24] Presents

[01:12:24] Series of books

[01:12:26] So

[01:12:26] Again

[01:12:27] It was the Haunted Mask

[01:12:28] Advertised on the back

[01:12:29] Yeah what if it was

[01:12:30] The Haunted Mask

[01:12:32] But that'd still be cool

[01:12:33] To see that

[01:12:34] That was gonna happen

[01:12:35] Even if it didn't

[01:12:36] They could've done

[01:12:37] A two in one

[01:12:38] It's like

[01:12:38] The Goosebumps

[01:12:39] Gold thing

[01:12:39] Like the Haunted Mask

[01:12:41] Lives

[01:12:41] What could've been

[01:12:42] But that was

[01:12:43] The Goosebumps

[01:12:44] TV Presents

[01:12:46] Series of books

[01:12:47] And

[01:12:48] Like we said

[01:12:49] It was

[01:12:50] Just a sub-series

[01:12:51] There was nothing

[01:12:52] It wasn't like

[01:12:53] A main series

[01:12:54] It was a side thing

[01:12:55] But

[01:12:56] It's crazy how

[01:12:57] These books

[01:12:57] Have become

[01:12:58] Like

[01:12:58] Pieces of gold

[01:12:59] In the Goosebumps

[01:13:00] Collecting

[01:13:01] Community

[01:13:02] Because

[01:13:02] Now everybody

[01:13:03] Wants them

[01:13:04] Everybody

[01:13:05] Wants a piece

[01:13:06] Of this series

[01:13:08] And yeah

[01:13:08] Hopefully we will

[01:13:09] Find proof

[01:13:11] That there was

[01:13:12] The blob

[01:13:12] That ate everyone

[01:13:13] Out there

[01:13:13] Currently it is

[01:13:14] Known just as

[01:13:15] Unpublished

[01:13:16] But maybe

[01:13:17] A few do exist

[01:13:18] Out there in the

[01:13:19] World

[01:13:19] You never know

[01:13:21] But only time

[01:13:22] Will tell

[01:13:22] I would say

[01:13:23] A lot of

[01:13:23] These have

[01:13:24] A lot of

[01:13:24] Popularity

[01:13:25] Because there

[01:13:25] Was a lot

[01:13:26] Of stuff

[01:13:27] For the TV

[01:13:27] Show

[01:13:28] Despite its

[01:13:28] Popularity

[01:13:29] It didn't

[01:13:30] Really get

[01:13:31] Merch

[01:13:32] No

[01:13:32] I mean like

[01:13:33] It has a few

[01:13:33] Things

[01:13:34] Yeah

[01:13:34] It had some

[01:13:36] T-shirts

[01:13:36] And it had

[01:13:37] These books

[01:13:40] That might be it

[01:13:41] Again

[01:13:41] These books

[01:13:42] Were

[01:13:43] Essentially

[01:13:44] The only way

[01:13:45] That you could

[01:13:45] See these

[01:13:46] Episodes

[01:13:47] In a physical

[01:13:48] Way

[01:13:48] Because again

[01:13:49] There was no

[01:13:50] DVDs

[01:13:50] They weren't

[01:13:51] On VHS

[01:13:51] In the

[01:13:52] States

[01:13:53] Or Canada

[01:13:53] Yeah

[01:13:54] And you

[01:13:55] Would have

[01:13:56] To catch

[01:13:56] Them on

[01:13:56] Reruns

[01:13:57] If you

[01:13:57] Wanted to

[01:13:57] Watch

[01:13:58] Them

[01:13:58] So if

[01:13:58] You had

[01:13:58] These books

[01:13:59] You would

[01:13:59] Have at

[01:14:00] least

[01:14:00] Some way

[01:14:00] Of experiencing

[01:14:02] These episodes

[01:14:03] There's cards

[01:14:04] There's the

[01:14:04] 3D

[01:14:05] Tarzos

[01:14:05] That did

[01:14:06] The TV

[01:14:06] Show

[01:14:07] The ones

[01:14:08] That we

[01:14:09] Have

[01:14:09] From Australia

[01:14:10] And it was

[01:14:10] Even some

[01:14:11] Of the

[01:14:13] Flip picks

[01:14:13] The flip

[01:14:14] Pick ones

[01:14:15] From the

[01:14:15] UK

[01:14:16] But there

[01:14:17] Was one

[01:14:17] Thing that

[01:14:18] I could

[01:14:18] Say they

[01:14:19] Definitely

[01:14:19] Took the

[01:14:19] Inspiration

[01:14:21] And it

[01:14:22] Was the

[01:14:23] Monster bag

[01:14:24] Of Mr.

[01:14:25] Mortman

[01:14:25] It was

[01:14:25] The frog

[01:14:26] With the

[01:14:26] Popping eyes

[01:14:28] Out that

[01:14:28] Looked

[01:14:29] Based off

[01:14:29] The show

[01:14:30] Of Mr.

[01:14:31] Mortman

[01:14:31] The design

[01:14:32] And also

[01:14:32] The Horned

[01:14:34] Mask

[01:14:49] The Horned

[01:14:50] Executioner

[01:14:51] The Horned

[01:14:52] Executioner

[01:14:52] It looked

[01:14:55] Like him

[01:14:55] Based on

[01:14:56] The design

[01:14:57] So

[01:14:57] There was

[01:14:58] A few

[01:14:58] Things

[01:14:58] But

[01:15:00] For how

[01:15:00] Popular

[01:15:01] That show

[01:15:01] Was

[01:15:02] I can't

[01:15:02] Believe

[01:15:02] They

[01:15:03] One

[01:15:03] Didn't

[01:15:04] Start

[01:15:04] This

[01:15:04] TV

[01:15:04] Presents

[01:15:05] Line

[01:15:05] Any

[01:15:06] Like

[01:15:07] Sooner

[01:15:07] Like

[01:15:08] Yeah

[01:15:09] It

[01:15:09] Started

[01:15:10] In

[01:15:10] 1996

[01:15:12] By the

[01:15:13] Time

[01:15:13] So

[01:15:14] That

[01:15:14] The first

[01:15:16] VHS

[01:15:16] Tape

[01:15:17] Came out

[01:15:17] These

[01:15:17] Were

[01:15:18] Already

[01:15:18] In

[01:15:19] Development

[01:15:19] And

[01:15:21] So

[01:15:21] They

[01:15:21] Started

[01:15:22] Pretty

[01:15:22] Early

[01:15:23] Into

[01:15:23] The TV

[01:15:23] Series

[01:15:24] Run

[01:15:24] But

[01:15:24] They

[01:15:25] Only

[01:15:25] Ran

[01:15:25] For

[01:15:26] Two

[01:15:26] Years

[01:15:26] And

[01:15:26] Again

[01:15:27] There

[01:15:27] Was

[01:15:27] Only

[01:15:27] 18

[01:15:27] Books

[01:15:28] So

[01:15:28] I

[01:15:29] Don't

[01:15:29] Know

[01:15:29] If

[01:15:29] There

[01:15:29] Was

[01:15:29] Like

[01:15:30] A

[01:15:30] Certain

[01:15:31] How

[01:15:31] Long

[01:15:31] It

[01:15:31] Took

[01:15:32] To

[01:15:32] Write

[01:15:32] These

[01:15:32] Books

[01:15:33] Because

[01:15:33] Certain

[01:15:33] Authors

[01:15:34] Worked

[01:15:34] On

[01:15:34] Them

[01:15:34] So

[01:15:35] It

[01:15:35] Wasn't

[01:15:35] You

[01:15:35] Know

[01:15:35] R.L.

[01:15:36] Pumping

[01:15:37] These

[01:15:37] Out

[01:15:37] Every

[01:15:38] Month

[01:15:38] They

[01:15:38] Were

[01:15:38] Pretty

[01:15:39] Free

[01:15:39] And

[01:15:39] Far

[01:15:39] Between

[01:15:40] But

[01:15:41] For

[01:15:41] What

[01:15:41] We

[01:15:42] Have

[01:15:42] An

[01:15:42] Interesting

[01:15:43] Set

[01:15:44] Of

[01:15:44] Episodes

[01:15:45] Adapted

[01:15:46] For

[01:15:46] The

[01:15:46] Books

[01:15:47] Very

[01:15:48] Hot

[01:15:48] Commodities

[01:15:49] Definitely

[01:15:50] Must

[01:15:50] Grabs

[01:15:51] For

[01:15:51] Goosebumps

[01:15:52] Fans

[01:15:52] And

[01:15:52] Collectors

[01:15:54] And

[01:15:55] Another

[01:15:55] Thing I

[01:15:56] Should

[01:15:56] Bring

[01:15:56] Up

[01:15:56] I

[01:15:56] Don't

[01:15:56] Know

[01:15:56] If

[01:15:57] I

[01:15:57] Brought

[01:15:57] This

[01:15:57] Up

[01:15:57] Already

[01:15:58] And

[01:15:59] We

[01:15:59] Won't

[01:15:59] Go

[01:15:59] Too

[01:15:59] Far

[01:16:00] Into

[01:16:00] It

[01:16:00] But

[01:16:00] If

[01:16:00] You

[01:16:00] Check

[01:16:01] Out

[01:16:01] The

[01:16:01] Goosebumps

[01:16:01] Wiki

[01:16:01] There's

[01:16:02] Definitely

[01:16:02] A lot

[01:16:02] Of

[01:16:03] Things

[01:16:03] That

[01:16:03] These

[01:16:04] Books

[01:16:04] Do

[01:16:04] Differently

[01:16:05] From

[01:16:05] The

[01:16:05] Episodes

[01:16:06] These

[01:16:06] Are

[01:16:06] Definitely

[01:16:06] Based

[01:16:07] Off

[01:16:07] The

[01:16:07] TV

[01:16:07] Episodes

[01:16:08] But

[01:16:09] They

[01:16:09] Are

[01:16:10] Adaptations

[01:16:10] So

[01:16:11] There

[01:16:11] Are

[01:16:23] But

[01:16:24] It's

[01:16:24] Pretty

[01:16:24] Interesting

[01:16:25] That

[01:16:25] They're

[01:16:25] Not

[01:16:25] Exactly

[01:16:26] One

[01:16:26] For

[01:16:26] One

[01:16:27] With

[01:16:27] The

[01:16:27] Original

[01:16:28] Screenplay

[01:16:29] Or

[01:16:29] Maybe

[01:16:29] The

[01:16:30] Screenplay

[01:16:30] Is

[01:16:30] Different

[01:16:30] Than

[01:16:31] How

[01:16:31] It

[01:16:31] Turned

[01:16:31] Out

[01:16:31] In

[01:16:31] The

[01:16:31] Final

[01:16:32] Product

[01:16:33] Who

[01:16:33] Knows

[01:16:33] We'll

[01:16:34] Never

[01:16:34] Know

[01:16:35] But

[01:16:35] That

[01:16:36] Is

[01:16:36] Going

[01:16:36] To

[01:16:36] Do

[01:16:37] It

[01:16:37] For

[01:16:37] Today's

[01:16:37] Episode

[01:16:38] Of

[01:16:38] The

[01:16:38] Goosebumps

[01:16:38] Crew

[01:16:39] Podcast

[01:16:40] As

[01:16:40] Always

[01:16:41] If

[01:16:41] You

[01:16:41] Like

[01:16:41] Today's

[01:16:42] Episode

[01:16:42] Make

[01:16:51] Make

[01:16:52] sure

[01:16:52] You

[01:16:52] Take

[01:17:05] Care

[01:17:08] Stay

[01:17:09] Safe

[01:17:09] And

[01:17:09] Have

[01:17:10] A

[01:17:10] Very

[01:17:10] Scary

[01:17:10] Day
