[00:02:58] Tyre, how are you doing today, man?
[00:02:59] Doing great, man. How are you doing? Great. We're glad to have you back.
[00:03:03] If you guys remember Tyre joined me in Bjorn when we did our website tour of the Goosebumps website
[00:03:10] back in episode number 34. Check that one out. I was a lot of fun that was awesome.
[00:03:14] I was like that one out.
[00:03:16] Yes, indeed. And joining us for the very first time here on The Podcast from the House of Mass over on YouTube and Instagram.
[00:03:24] We have Mr. AJ Good AJ. How are you doing today, man?
[00:03:27] I have no complaints for once in my life. So what?
[00:03:32] That is a good day right there when you have no complaints.
[00:03:36] Absolutely. We're glad to have you AJ. Thank you so much for joining us.
[00:03:39] Welcome to The Goosebumps crew. We're glad to have you.
[00:03:42] I'm stoked to be here.
[00:03:43] Absolutely. And of course, we're going to talk about Goosebumps today more specifically, masks.
[00:03:49] That's the name of the game. Today we are going to go through the many different Goosebumps mask and costumes.
[00:03:54] Both in the franchise and out, both official and non official.
[00:03:59] And we got some really cool stuff to check out today. Some familiar, some maybe you've never seen before.
[00:04:05] So stick around because we got some really cool stuff to check out today.
[00:04:09] But first, since AJ is joining us for the very first time, I think it's only necessary that we get to know a little bit.
[00:04:14] As I said, AJ runs a YouTube channel called The House of Mask as well as an Instagram account.
[00:04:20] AJ tells a little bit about yourself and the House of Mask.
[00:04:26] I am a collector of pretty much anything in this realm that can be collected. So obviously, we've got the Goosebumps stuff back here.
[00:04:37] Lots of 90s related stuff. So Pokemon attitude, era, wrestling stuff.
[00:04:44] Lots of theatrical bands that would have been around in the 90s. I think Slipnod is like my big market.
[00:04:50] So that's what I'm probably most well known for.
[00:04:54] Lots of horror movie franchises, all that stuff.
[00:04:58] So the House of Mask is a physical location, museum type thing.
[00:05:03] It's an online community and as of late we have a festival.
[00:05:08] So we've got a festival coming up. This will be our third official pale fest.
[00:05:13] So it's like a House of Mask festival which is pretty cool.
[00:05:16] One is echoing on.
[00:05:18] This year is November 8th and 9th. It's the first year that we've pushed it out of October.
[00:05:23] Wow, that sounds really fun. Where is it at if you don't mind me asking?
[00:05:27] It's here in Chilakothio. Hi, where I'm from.
[00:05:31] No one knows what that is but it's cool to shine some light on my hometown.
[00:05:36] Absolutely. That sounds like a lot of fun. If I could go to Ohio, I would definitely go there.
[00:05:42] Yeah, it's a blast man and every year gets bigger and bigger so we're doing something right.
[00:05:46] Yeah, that's awesome. Man, that's super cool to hear.
[00:05:49] What got you into what made you want to collect was it just like something that just happened or
[00:05:54] Like what made you want to start collecting things?
[00:05:57] It was like the perfect combination of stuff happening at a very early age.
[00:06:03] The goose bumps was a big part of it.
[00:06:05] Definitely one of the, I was like my introduction to horror for sure.
[00:06:09] My grandpa was also a big part of it. He was super into Halloween and he really liked,
[00:06:15] like, like, universal monsters. So he was all about like the wolf man and I can remember watching like the invisible man with him when I was a kid and stuff.
[00:06:24] But when he showed me Halloween four, it was like a game changer, like actually terrifying.
[00:06:30] And then I discovered slipknot and I realized that masks were more than just, you know, like a movie thing.
[00:06:38] So I got my first mask. It happened to be a slipknot mask and it was like game over from there.
[00:06:43] I knew that they were obtainable. So I was obsessed with tracking stuff down.
[00:06:49] Absolutely. And the house of mask as you said is a physical location that you can check out.
[00:06:53] So you've collected many masks over the years. Do you have any personal favorites?
[00:06:58] Yeah, I have like a top 10 that it would take a long time to figure out what exactly they were.
[00:07:02] Everything, like everything sentimental for a different reason.
[00:07:06] Absolutely.
[00:07:06] It's glad to hear. And I mean, everybody these days is a collector in some way.
[00:07:12] Even people who don't like to admit it collect something.
[00:07:16] It's just, it's a great hobby to have.
[00:07:19] And I mean, we, we three and anti-war, I shouldn't exclude you.
[00:07:24] You know, all collect other than just goose bumps stuff.
[00:07:27] It's just for me, Bjorn and Nick. It's the thing that we collect the most of.
[00:07:31] But as we've always said, we also collect many other things.
[00:07:34] Things from our childhood.
[00:07:36] Things from other franchises that we like stuff like that.
[00:07:40] So collecting is a pretty big commodity.
[00:07:42] A pretty, you know, popular hobby nowadays, especially with the internet where you can share your findings
[00:07:48] with the world.
[00:07:49] It makes for a very large community of people who can, you know, just live in the moment and re-experience those things from their
[00:07:58] childhood, especially.
[00:08:01] So it's awesome. I mean, it just, I don't know.
[00:08:04] It just sounds so cool that you can go somewhere like a museum of masks.
[00:08:08] Like, I got to say that's a really cool concept for a place to visit.
[00:08:13] Yeah. I mean, you hit the nail on the head with the whole like nostalgia driven,
[00:08:18] uh, connecting with a community.
[00:08:20] I think the house of masks was like the foundation of a mask community.
[00:08:25] So me literally starting with 30 second videos of like, hey, I got this new mask.
[00:08:30] It's pretty cool turned into everything that the house of masks is now.
[00:08:35] And it's, I mean, it's a big enough community to do that event.
[00:08:38] So I think it's awesome.
[00:08:40] Absolutely. I mean, whenever the three of us, you know,
[00:08:43] go out and about and we'd be like, hey, look at all the stack of goosebumps books I found today.
[00:08:47] People were like, oh, sweet. Like, you found that book.
[00:08:51] Oh, my, my, my, my.
[00:08:51] I got so excited.
[00:08:53] Um, but no, like you could just like find something and then you just post about it and you're whole and there people are just like, oh, we mulling is like, I wish I could find one of those.
[00:09:03] Yeah, I know, Bjorn, you especially whenever you post on like that people are like, oh, man, how are you so lucky?
[00:09:09] Including me.
[00:09:11] Oh, I insistence.
[00:09:14] Consistence.
[00:09:14] But that's what you got to be very, you know, just like checking the same and you go to the same place as all the time.
[00:09:20] You don't be like, I've been able to fall out. I need to go there again. No, no, no, no, every week same thrift stores, same book shops, same markets on a Sunday morning and you will find new stuff believe me.
[00:09:33] Yeah, my guess it for every six trip to a half price books where I don't find a single thing. The seventh trip is like gold, mind town.
[00:09:41] Like, in fact, the last one I had where I found like really good stuff. I had like such a rut of collecting, but then one day I walked in there and I found a whole box set not easy to find box set a rare hard cover and one of two black spine give yourselves that I'm still missing. So now I only have one to find some like this is why we do this. This is why we go this way.
[00:10:08] So it's not only times. It's your passion. So you love.
[00:10:14] Yeah, I've got to get my flowers to be on. I've seen it from multiple youtubers who do thrifting at some point. You're just like, I just want to give this up.
[00:10:26] Like, you cannot find shit. Yeah, it's as awful. I feel like a waste of my entire day.
[00:10:31] Like, have not found anything a month and basically that's where I live. I'm not actually too far from AJ.
[00:10:39] I'm in Central Indiana. So I find a whole lot of nothing anymore.
[00:10:45] And the reason why is because last time I went into a place, I was like, your shelves are completely empty of these pumps.
[00:10:52] I was like, what is happening here? I was like, never used to be like this. Oh, you're looking for me. Oh, some ladies came in here and like bought everything we had. I'm like, of course she did.
[00:11:02] I was like resellers.
[00:11:04] Have you noticed the thrift stores aren't thrift stores anymore?
[00:11:10] Yeah, it's just like, it's like an outlist or something.
[00:11:16] Yeah, especially it's like that collecting market is gotten so big that those stores are like more popular than ever.
[00:11:23] As people are going in and looking for like rare things, things have, you know, things have value to them now that they didn't back then.
[00:11:32] So again, those things are hot commodities now. We're funny enough, like, you know, 20 30 years ago it might have been just kind of like whatever it's just another thing,
[00:11:42] you know, give it a few decades now. It's like I've, they got to have it.
[00:11:49] So online, online skilled thrifting game because for the internet, I was my best find's role in the wild.
[00:11:58] You know what I mean? And now it's just nothing. So all my best finds now are online and every now and again you might find something in the wild and that's why you have to treasure that moment now because, you know, it's so rare to find anything.
[00:12:12] I don't know. It, oh, go ahead.
[00:12:16] I was going to say I knew about three years ago when I started thrifting again the change.
[00:12:24] I showed up one day early with my wife to our biggest thrift store and I walked in and I noticed that 10 guys were going where I was going, which was the toy section and the book section which was sponsored for a tour toys.
[00:12:39] And I noticed that probably eight out of 10 of them were like real fast, like in and out one of the guys I stopped and I was like, hey man, I was like, hey guys all collectors are wet. Like it's kind of weird to get like 10 people right out of the bat just going to the toys, you know, and he's again almost both on stores or online stores or whatever and we're looking to pick and blah blah blah.
[00:12:59] And I'm just like in my head like whoa, like I didn't even at the time. I had no clue that it had become that because before it was that it was everything was in the wild. Like I could go to a good will wherever anywhere value village, you know and you could find goosebumps whatever you want it now.
[00:13:18] I mean, I have to get there at like seven eight a.m. on the dot when they open if I'm not working to try to get something.
[00:13:27] Something that goosebumps completion has told me the last time we had him on before we started the show.
[00:13:33] He told me that apparently goodwill has caught on to like the value of goosebumps books and now like if they get something goosebumps related.
[00:13:44] Most of the time they're actually going to like ship it somewhere else to be sold at a like a higher price. They won't put it with all the others. The only time you'll find an actual goose bumps thing at a goodwill is number one if the people working there are stupid or it doesn't have any value or it's just be to hell.
[00:14:04] Like if I ever had it look it is destroyed.
[00:14:08] If you go to shopgoodwill.com, it's like the e-bail goodwill.
[00:14:14] Any type and goose bumps anybody can you'll see 90% of it is over saturated or you know they're putting six books up at once for 30 bucks 20 bucks trying to get you to bait in on bidding on it and it just makes me sad.
[00:14:30] I'm like come on man like that's not first of all nobody's that stupid excuse me. You know also you know,
[00:14:40] That's the main power of people.
[00:14:42] No, I've seen some bad ones.
[00:14:46] Stupidity is rampant and lots of art world.
[00:14:50] Yeah, every once in a while though they will have a good one. They will have one that's got like a hundred books or they'll have you know a toy or something like I found a fear street collector watch from our alstein pre goose bumps in the package with the book as a promotional piece.
[00:15:06] I've only ever seen like two of them ever and you know it's stuff like that like everyone's the wild author of a gym and they want to know what they're doing it will be like 10 bucks.
[00:15:15] You know, but it's like you said most of them know what they're doing now. So it kind of sucks. It takes away the thrill of the hunt.
[00:15:22] Yeah, it's just the way that people get now because they see the commodities.
[00:15:28] Yeah, I don't see ever in my half-rise books because apparently some bitch keeps coming in line of all, but it's not a mine.
[00:15:40] I think that one person is the bitch with the trash. He's the bitch and Wisconsin. This bitch is an Indian somewhere. I don't know who it is.
[00:15:48] I doubt you're watching this, but if you are you, um, providing all the goosebumps and not sharing it with the rest of us.
[00:15:56] Yeah, it's like yeah, fuck you. Thanks for supporting that.
[00:16:01] But a half-rise books man, they've caught on. I know I saw some pictures that Isaiah did send me. They're keeping them in cases now rather than out with the other books and they're like 20, 30 some books.
[00:16:14] I'm like, do your half-rise books.
[00:16:16] Hmm.
[00:16:17] It's like the more beautiful. I think that's why it's like a wider, more right-knit book.
[00:16:23] It's like going to five below and you can't really find anything below five dollars anymore.
[00:16:28] The world after COVID just sucks.
[00:16:32] Yes, the latest jam on related to goosebumps was I went into the red wine blue at the same start towards you guys about.
[00:16:40] And it was after work, which I usually find nothing anymore. And I walked over to the book section and they do the thing with a clump like five or six books together and just throw a price of like 10 bucks, seven bucks.
[00:16:52] And they were all first edition for your street books and there was like eight of them.
[00:16:56] And it was like 1099. I'm like this person didn't know what they were doing. Thank God. And then I just grabbed it.
[00:17:02] But it's like you said it was it was one of those I was thankful, but something that that used to be a regular, you know, once a week has now turned to like once every six months if I'm lucky.
[00:17:14] Yeah, I just remember when I first started collecting it was like you could walk in any store and find a bunch of goosebumps books. I remember it's like one of those things look like if I only knew back then.
[00:17:26] If I knew back then what I know now.
[00:17:28] Yeah, if I told you how much I've spent recollecting my childhood back here and I'm sure all of us really in our background. So I'm sure we could all say it's probably not so.
[00:17:40] It's hard. It's like kids don't throw away your stuff. If you can, you know, that stuff might be worth something about 30 years.
[00:17:50] Yeah, how many first edition charzots do you think ended up in length?
[00:17:54] I think about that. I think about every stuff. I don't even want to talk about my collection because I had every.
[00:18:03] Literally had every first edition one one to one to one.
[00:18:07] Hallowed I had a case everything my dad was like you showed on to those. I turned like 12 and I was like, if this I want to skateboard, you know,
[00:18:15] and so I just gave it my neighbor something looking back and then now it's like yeah, the whole set is like 50,000 dollars on like sweet cool.
[00:18:23] Or now that it's a paid set for subscription. Oh, no, it was yeah, I know like I said it is.
[00:18:29] I used to have a set and then actually,
[00:18:34] I remember my mom was never really died off, but like yeah. I'm pretty sure is one of my ex friends that ended up stealing it from me because I never took it from my house, but it's not here anymore, so.
[00:18:48] Like, I know, I can't.
[00:18:50] And I know for sure that like my mom or grandparents, nobody knew what I had, even if they saw those would be like, oh, that's trash. So.
[00:19:04] Clearly, my my my buddies, because I just deal my my set and it turned out to be a complete first edition base set because I started when one book on card game came out. And I think I collected all the way up till.
[00:19:20] Oh, man, when did I stop.
[00:19:23] Probably when they got to the third gen of cards were full of them on because that was not after rocket, they hit that most people stopped collecting after.
[00:19:34] I mean, I guess there was jungle fossil then rocket and then after that they went me. And Neo was kind of that last set that people like really got super into and after that people kind of just because they started again all weird with the gym leaders set.
[00:19:52] You know, I like it with those two, but I stayed on a little bit after that, but yeah, our car shops just kind of started dying off.
[00:20:00] Oh yeah, well, I mean, all sport, I mean, really, I'm a big sports guy card wise, but it's same with poking like once the early 2000s hit.
[00:20:11] Really sports cards as well were kind of like they just weren't the value nobody collected anymore really like nobody was trying to make it a hobby and then the resurgence came later in 2010s and then obviously COVID just brought it to a whole another stratosphere on both.
[00:20:29] I'm going to poke you on and everything really like you said AJ with goose everything. I mean, just everybody went to collect or mode because they're all depressed so.
[00:20:39] You know, which is probably all best, but you know, most of them weren't working and they were getting paid more from home than they were actually outwork and yeah.
[00:20:47] So they had to spend their money somehow and some way, so yeah, I know I didn't. I went on a serious eBay kick when COVID first hit, so I was getting like mail mail must have hated my guts because I was getting stuff like every other day.
[00:21:02] Yeah, it's on delivery drivers were probably for sure pretty busy, but yeah, thank you one, thank you a lot about that.
[00:21:10] You know, everyone was like depressed. I mean, we all kind of made you fall in the back of my mind and smashes the end of the world so let's just be surrounded by everything we look.
[00:21:20] So I kind of get that yeah, that's why a lot of people went to collect a mode like I must have everything that I enjoyed before I died.
[00:21:27] I wasn't depressed like I had to work the whole time the only one to press me was all these people staying at home, make a more money than me.
[00:21:33] He was like I was already depressed before COVID.
[00:21:36] I was the first. I think I will say, I wish I could stay home in a way from people.
[00:21:44] I mean, I'm glad I get surrounded by all my stuff all day and you're just at the ID for the done only fence.
[00:21:53] I mean, I got the tits but I do not have the hot bot for the people. Maybe girls love that.
[00:22:03] That's true.
[00:22:04] Well, see, you're definitely not what a female says a dad bought is that, but like, oh, just because you don't have abs, but I got a cake.
[00:22:14] I got milkers. I got the whole, you know, the shoulder.
[00:22:19] So like to see you got a cake. You got the whole damn baby.
[00:22:24] It's like it's like it's a video that literally Tyler, I just saw you made the other day and I laughed so hard at it was about the cops looking for a middle aged man with a muffin top.
[00:22:36] That was like yeah.
[00:22:39] That's me.
[00:22:40] I was contemplating the leaky get on like, you know what? This is real life.
[00:22:46] Oh, like what is the line between like joke and self-degregation?
[00:22:51] Oh, try if you guys later in the show will say about if you see my tiktok, you'll see it's not like my 90s page. It's very morbid humor, but mean my wife, but I will say that too, you know, and this page that I've created obviously, you know, like if I would have thought four years ago.
[00:23:07] It was ever going to turn into what it did. I would have told you were crazy, but you know, I started it during COVID because same thing I was a little depressed board, you know, working out of my mind as well, you know, and four kids going to school at home.
[00:23:19] It was pretty crazy, but you know, at the same time, you know, looking back and out who's one of the coolest things I ever did because I wouldn't be doing stuff like this.
[00:23:28] So absolutely, and it is, it's stuff changes in the modern time and I will say one more thing somewhere.
[00:23:37] I'm glad that my, I remember actually when I got my NES.
[00:23:43] It was actually a handy down from my grandpa, my grandpa like kept it in his basement and I was so happy when he said to me, it was like, oh, I have an Nintendo and I'm like, what kind?
[00:23:53] Because I'm like an Nintendo community, you know, a lot of things, but yeah, he had a whole NES and two controllers and a whole stack of games including Mario and I was like,
[00:24:02] yeah, so it's like, you know, don't get rid of that stuff because it's going to be a lot of known Nintendo.
[00:24:09] I was like the OG Nintendo.
[00:24:12] I didn't think you were even old enough, so I'm glad when you said it was a handy down from your grandfather, that made so much more sense.
[00:24:18] Well, after that, I got on a big retro game kick, so I have like every Nintendo console now from the NES to the switch.
[00:24:26] And like, you know, all five play stations, all the Xboxes. So I have a second genesis, the original Sega Genesis.
[00:24:34] So yeah, no, I got on a huge kick with that.
[00:24:38] But I think we was established by this point at a Sega CD.
[00:24:42] I don't have a Sega CD.
[00:24:43] I only have the genesis in the game.
[00:24:45] I think I'm breaking my legs to find a Sega Saturn.
[00:24:49] Okay.
[00:24:51] I think it was that was you by the point though, that the AJU yourself are like us also a goosebumps fan and you got your whole collection right behind you.
[00:25:02] With all this talk of collecting what's your probably your favorite piece of goosebumps merch that you've collected.
[00:25:09] It is the one that Nick actually just helped me find and I can remember hitting Bjorn on about this probably 10 years ago or something.
[00:25:17] It's the curly's brain bites.
[00:25:21] I had that when I was a kid and I wanted to eat it so bad for so long and then my parents finally let me eat it and it was disgusting.
[00:25:30] So it totally wasn't worth it.
[00:25:31] And then once it was open, the skull was discarded, not only whatever happened to it but I always thought that that clear skull was just the coolest thing ever.
[00:25:39] So I finally got one back in the collection.
[00:25:42] Like four months ago or something like that.
[00:25:44] I was awesome.
[00:25:45] I remember when we did our commercial episode, I was number episode number 27 we did a big reaction to goosebumps commercials and that was one of them was the commercial for the it was the brain bites and then it was also like the monster had maker so how do I got a bunch of toys and one could you know but one of them was the brain.
[00:26:02] And I think we even said is like those don't look remotely appetizing.
[00:26:07] I just remember being said disappointed as a kid.
[00:26:12] And then like the older I got I was like why on earth did I do that why did I open that and then lose it and then yeah.
[00:26:21] Just being like I think the brain bites probably like five days after the endgame and there's no way I'm going to be able to reclaim those because they're just astronaut, luckily expensive.
[00:26:32] Yeah, it's it's a sad truth of today like it's like oh I really wanted to get this dinosaur writers figure from Tyco back in the day.
[00:26:43] It's like oh bitch that's nothing now because it wasn't even all that popular back then.
[00:26:49] No, no, it's like oh you want this T-Rex and the box is like $8,000.
[00:26:54] It's like oh cool I showed my mom that I was like you see what happens when you don't get me the stuff I want.
[00:26:59] It was like $60 than $1,000 now these were investments mom yeah exact.
[00:27:06] They for themselves in no time you were just trying to be smart with your money.
[00:27:13] Yeah, yeah.
[00:27:14] I should have actually been even with like a mask like I still have my original 90s goosebumps masks.
[00:27:22] But of course I took the tags off of course I wanted to wear them and do all this so they got the casual rip in the back like most of them do because.
[00:27:29] Nobody could apparently do a freaking whole punch in the back in the day like you should so it wouldn't tear as easily.
[00:27:39] That was a good one.
[00:27:41] There's no.
[00:27:42] Oh god, no never I mean they were vinyl if I remember if I yeah they are vinyl so yep.
[00:27:50] They won't rot which is great so they still look like they did pass me the first one on a mask one.
[00:27:57] Yeah, so back then like it's just like he said no give so easily ripped because you want to get that over my big fat ass head and I was like yeah I'm on a man.
[00:28:07] Of course I cut like the teeth like open so I could actually like do like she didn't show was like what do we've it's cool so mine's mangles but you know it's mine.
[00:28:18] I think I will stuff as a child.
[00:28:22] I hate what thinking about the kind of things I do with my goosebumps books when I was like ten years old.
[00:28:28] Why don't you just start together?
[00:28:34] No, you're sick man.
[00:28:37] You know what let's change our topic because you talked about what's on the way.
[00:28:41] Reading when the page was not stuck together.
[00:28:44] You, you were mentioning goosebumps.
[00:28:47] I just know.
[00:28:51] We're now we're going to talk about goosebumps masks that's the topic for this week and we.
[00:28:58] Right, we'll mention I mean there was tons of goosebumps masks in the 90s.
[00:29:05] I mean there's a lot of goosebumps and we're going to be looking at some of those in the second.
[00:29:07] Some of them ranged from pretty awesome to honestly pretty pretty.
[00:29:13] But first, we're going to have to take a look at some of the masking costumes that were actually present within the shows and movies of goosebumps so we're going to take a look at those really quick first starting off this other than no particular order chronologically or by episode.
[00:29:30] But we're going to take a look at some of the masks and creatures that were in the original goosebumps TV show first.
[00:29:36] As you can see right here, we have a first off we have the mummy Prince Coru.
[00:29:42] Which I always liked.
[00:29:43] I really liked the mummy and the goosebumps TV show though honestly it looked a little different than he did in the don't like mummy.
[00:29:51] I think it's just because of the eyes.
[00:29:53] It was a creepy or something like that.
[00:29:55] He looks so scary and that like I had nightmares.
[00:29:59] I think it's also because they obscured him in return in the mummy a lot more he was a lot more in shadow so you didn't get a good one get like what he really looked like.
[00:30:09] But I always liked how the mummy looked because it just looked really creepy.
[00:30:14] Then we got Mr. Mormon.
[00:30:16] I mean this one's a classic right here.
[00:30:18] I mean this one is just like anybody ever thinks about the goosebumps TV show.
[00:30:23] I think they probably think about the girl cried monster because it's just an iconic episode.
[00:30:28] Were you guys scared of Mr. Mormon as a kid?
[00:30:34] I did prosthetics so I guess for me I look at it in a little bit of a different light versus a mask because it kind of in my head it kind of I mean it's no it's it's dope like it looks cool like when you're watching on TV.
[00:30:47] But looking back at some deacetic they did it in the 90s like it looks like he's wearing a helmet that goes halfway down his face and then you can see the eternal leg bodies to that comes up below it.
[00:30:59] So it's like but him as a character was it was sick.
[00:31:04] I mean as a 90s kid you know like that was the whole thing back then was a little bit of teasing us with it right so.
[00:31:11] Well when we found out through I mean it's pretty impressive that they were able to pull that off because you know they were able to make the eyes move like that and yeah I think there's even a shot where you like saw his head like pulsating from the top.
[00:31:26] It just looked like really gross and just in human to say the least.
[00:31:34] But I mean it's definitely one of the best like designs for a monster in the goosebumps TV show.
[00:31:39] The important thing is that all of these are practical like 90s goosebumps show had a lot of weird CGI terrible stuff going on but it was never with the creatures which was bad.
[00:31:51] Yeah that's what I was gonna that's exactly what I was gonna point out is back in the 90s you know even early 2000s you were dealing with a lot of.
[00:32:00] This more practical stuff where the eyes are moving or their the brains are oozing out you know that they have some kind of robotic you know function and there that's making it happen and.
[00:32:10] It sucks because you don't see that anymore you just don't and it's.
[00:32:15] Sometimes practical just looks way better and looks way cooler than.
[00:32:19] Yeah.
[00:32:20] Oh the new alien formula is going to be when it's clear practical man I don't know if you guys are seeing a new alien but.
[00:32:29] They actually went back to being quite practical with the is animal I was I was just impressed by that.
[00:32:36] I was like oh wow they used to really.
[00:32:38] Is animal practical affecting this me this is practical always try and for CGI because at least no matter how practical looks it is at least they are.
[00:32:49] With the actors were a CGI you're just there's virtually almost no way to make it look realistic sometimes they can make it look good but it's like well that they're they're sitting in a green screen room to be.
[00:33:03] And you're usually just in a suit and you know I think that's that's the thing about this you know these people are actually in costumes and they're probably sitting there for hours you know I think one of the last practical.
[00:33:16] Mask outfits that I was really impressed by four kind of the turn of the century was Jim carry playing the grinch.
[00:33:22] You know that was for me that was like last like like this like it was one of the last like he probably sat there for six eight hours getting you know prepped every day.
[00:33:32] Well you ever did you ever hear the story that apparently the makeup process was so bad that he had to be trained by a CIA agent it's CIA agent like in the means of like torture.
[00:33:43] Like that's how bad it was like he I think you should have an interview I'll never forget he said it in interview is like you could hit me with a baseball bat it'd be like hi.
[00:33:51] Yeah.
[00:33:53] So oh wait I do know that and and he was sitting there like he said he would sit there and walk back and forth sometimes being like it's for the kids it's for the kids yeah he was like he said he almost quit the entire picture because was so growing.
[00:34:06] I mean I think that's the kind of the way that we're going to have a lot of the things that he did in by God I mean Jim carry just has the face to work with that kind of makeup that's why that we have make up works for that character and.
[00:34:16] I also don't know that green stuff to be like come on.
[00:34:23] Are you sure you're a good.
[00:34:24] I have to point out the ghost in piano lessons can be murdered down here on the bottom right this thing.
[00:34:32] I've scared the hell out of me and.
[00:34:35] And when it's up in the camera in the shot like.
[00:34:39] I've pretty sure I had at least one or two nightmares.
[00:34:47] Yeah.
[00:34:47] I've made episodes from the entire show like hands down agree but that is creepy like everyone in that place that pop so well.
[00:34:55] Even though the street was just terrible and then the bottom left here we have the scariest monster of them all.
[00:35:02] This one I could as a joke it's at the end of the girl cry monster where Lucy's friend comes in with the the master monster.
[00:35:11] But like what even is it is like a bird it also take a bird mask.
[00:35:14] It looks like a lot.
[00:35:17] There's like what's that fish there's like a fish that has like an ugly face and it's caught a camera.
[00:35:23] It's a lot of it's a lot of it's a lot of it's a lot of it's got like a big nose and like.
[00:35:29] I was like it.
[00:35:29] Yeah, it looks like it.
[00:35:31] I'm not even going to say it.
[00:35:33] Yeah, it's go ahead.
[00:35:37] We have to edit that if I say it so well, not going to say it.
[00:35:39] So yeah, the put a it's the first time we're going to have to put a boop in an episode.
[00:35:47] No, I just I've always wondered what that was.
[00:35:50] I'm just like it almost looks like a bird from like far away but yeah, I don't know.
[00:35:56] That's like very birdish up front things like a it almost looks like a puffer fish like with a nose.
[00:36:02] A little bit.
[00:36:02] Yeah, it looks like it.
[00:36:04] Yeah, it looks like a puffer fish with like a Mr. Burns nose.
[00:36:06] Yeah, anyway, I'm moving on.
[00:36:12] All right, so down here in the bottom left we have the mummy from don't wake mummy so it looks a little different from the last one.
[00:36:19] That's totally different.
[00:36:20] Last one.
[00:36:21] Yeah, we just put a new prosthetics on the guys face and maybe that's why they were using shadows more because maybe it was a rushed project because everything with goose bumps was rushed.
[00:36:33] Yeah, yeah.
[00:36:34] Listen, that would six when maybe.
[00:36:36] I was going to say this one, the bottom the bottom right that went see that one when I was a kid as soon as we turn to this bit like I remember that one that one pretty good.
[00:36:46] I've said before that this episode didn't crack my top five scariest episodes but I did mention that it is one of the I do think the scariest moments when the kid is locked in in the basement because it's bitch sister locked him in there.
[00:37:01] And he just gets up and he turns around like and little smoke coming out of his mouth.
[00:37:09] Yeah, like, oh my god, it's an old one.
[00:37:11] Yeah, it's so cool.
[00:37:14] And then of course we have the haunted mask and the unloved down here on the bottom left.
[00:37:19] I mean, these one are pinnacle masks.
[00:37:22] This is on ever.
[00:37:25] That's why I got to go like it just to this day, like eat in my head.
[00:37:30] Like the things the 90s because we really were the last generation to get like pretty raw TV and like just looking at these I'm like in what mind where they like hey you know what these 68 year olds listen this is.
[00:37:47] And it's secretly it was I mean down the road that you know looking back I mean I was scared shitless watching this for the first couple times.
[00:37:55] Well, and when those faces like turn like that in that shot when they slam the door and they turn in that direction that's like creepy enough itself.
[00:38:04] But then when you get to the end where they're floating up and they're chasing her through the graveyard like that.
[00:38:10] Yeah, haunting.
[00:38:14] And to us.
[00:38:17] Well, I'm just honestly it's just the part where they're just lifting up the time and then just because obviously as we know it was the.
[00:38:26] What was it that the makeup crew or something like everyone that worked on the mask?
[00:38:30] Like every person with a watch out there because they each worked on their own very mouse and then they got to wear them any actual episode.
[00:38:37] Yeah, so there's like a photo from Ron were like it was it was either Ron or Alan it was like no it was Alan Alan was there.
[00:38:46] Like all the mask people so they were all wearing them and then they had like completely blue lights suits.
[00:38:54] So look like they're floating.
[00:38:56] Yeah, so just over there doing lunch and squats just before green screen there was a loose green.
[00:39:04] And then we have the mud monster and the swamp monster from you can't scare me until monster respective we the mud monster.
[00:39:14] I think that in the mask mutant are like the most accurate to the Tim Jocobas art in terms of adapting them to the screen.
[00:39:23] I love the mud monster and you can't scare me. I think it's just a great design. I love we found out that it was played by professional wrestler.
[00:39:34] So it was like just big and halting over these kids who just terrifying.
[00:39:40] Andre the giant in there.
[00:39:43] I would have been a bit sweet there would have been and then you have what about captain and say.
[00:39:51] I thought it would have been captain and say captain and say captain and say captain and say no.
[00:39:55] What have been super rad is if he started doing wrestling moves on the kids just like super.
[00:40:00] I don't know where.
[00:40:01] I'm probably more than a program.
[00:40:06] Oh my god.
[00:40:08] I was a little bit of a big team.
[00:40:09] Somebody should make like a YouTube who edited that.
[00:40:12] I was going to say now there's going to be an edit out there somewhere when you see the mud monster walking up.
[00:40:17] It gets as you know music going and then when it gets to the kids.
[00:40:22] Somebody has to do it.
[00:40:24] There's just doing commentary.
[00:40:26] That's got family.
[00:40:37] Oh my god.
[00:40:38] Not at all remotely what I would have thought ever for the book.
[00:40:42] Not at all.
[00:40:43] In fact, it's so weird because the swamp monster in general is like the most drastically redesign.
[00:40:49] goosebumps monster I think because you have like the furry hand on the cover of the book.
[00:40:55] Then you have this version from the TV show which is very reptilian.
[00:40:58] It almost looks like some kind of wizard person and then you have the one from the movie that we're going to get to in a little bit that is almost like covered in moss.
[00:41:06] It almost looks like a moss creature.
[00:41:09] We'll see it when we get to that point but it's just weird.
[00:41:11] It meant to be the monster from how to kill a monster.
[00:41:14] It is.
[00:41:14] I know what you're talking about but I don't remember that one.
[00:41:18] I don't remember that one.
[00:41:19] Yeah, I mean it kind of looks like what the human turd got mutated.
[00:41:23] It came a monster like that's what I imagined.
[00:41:27] That's what I imagined.
[00:41:27] That's what I imagined.
[00:41:27] You know what I imagined even.
[00:41:30] Don't talk about it.
[00:41:31] Don't talk about it.
[00:41:31] Yeah, yeah.
[00:41:32] The shit in the dogma.
[00:41:34] But I love this design and it's just like a massive thing.
[00:41:39] Like I can only imagine what it was like being the actor within that because it just looks like so deformed with the head and the very like very arched back.
[00:41:51] But it's a great design.
[00:41:52] It really looks nice personally.
[00:41:55] Doesn't make sense.
[00:41:56] It's hard to find the eyes out because you obviously the.
[00:41:59] But the neck being extended like that in the head.
[00:42:01] It's an animatronic on that portion.
[00:42:04] Mm hmm.
[00:42:05] Yeah, what are the eyes actually for the person in the suit?
[00:42:09] Could be like right below the next what's like out of like out of sight but yeah it's like you got to wonder like where the proportions are in that thing.
[00:42:19] Moving on we have these four so right up here in the top left we have.
[00:42:26] The mother from cry the cat and this is just.
[00:42:28] And this is like no early.
[00:42:30] Like I will just know her reaction is fine.
[00:42:33] Mm hmm.
[00:42:34] Yeah, this is.
[00:42:35] I get like that much a cat's two.
[00:42:37] That's actually will Smith from hitch it just they didn't show it off camera.
[00:42:42] Right.
[00:42:43] It looks like something that you would have thought was true when you saw it on ebons or a and like the early 2000.
[00:42:49] Right.
[00:42:50] And one of those like a national inquiring magazines.
[00:42:53] Like half.
[00:42:54] Half person half cat.
[00:42:55] You guys you're mom you're like that's that's fake right like that's fake.
[00:43:00] It's like yeah it's fake is like oh that's real.
[00:43:04] And then we have also the the lizard yeah these guys they.
[00:43:08] Oh yeah, the the creeps from calling all creeps creeps freaked me out.
[00:43:13] Oh man it's it's weird though because as I was talking about the monster is like the most drastically redesigned.
[00:43:21] The creeps are actually like the most consistent except for the TV show because every other version they're purple.
[00:43:28] But in the TV show straight like straight up like raptor in a way.
[00:43:34] Also, they they looked like large human raptors yeah that was like some of these original Jurassic Park and when we talked around Stephanie he said that this was actually I think based on the gorens from star track.
[00:43:50] Oh god.
[00:43:51] Oh.
[00:43:52] I see it.
[00:43:53] And when he said that I could totally see it at that.
[00:43:56] Oh yeah you see the eyes and the eyebrows.
[00:44:00] And then we have the horror right down below it we have one of the horrors there's more horrors
[00:44:06] that we will see because there was different versions but this one is a black black from one day at Harley and the one who's like get out.
[00:44:14] Wow you still can.
[00:44:17] But I mean these were that was one of the biggest straight in the book.
[00:44:21] Yeah it was like it's it's very much similar to the book with the horns just like wrapping all around and going like back up through this way.
[00:44:32] And they work really well as like mass they these ones in particular there's another kind of horror in the episode what we're going to look at in a second.
[00:44:40] And then I'm not a huge fan of but these ones they like acted with the eyes and the mouth of the actor.
[00:44:48] So they look more realistic.
[00:44:50] And then we have the pumpkin heads from attack of the jackal and these are classic right here.
[00:44:55] Oh yeah.
[00:44:57] I mean these are so glad to see trick or treat studios made those.
[00:45:01] Yes.
[00:45:02] And honestly that's probably one of the best representations trick or treat studios done as far as goosebumps.
[00:45:08] I don't know me wrong the other sculpts don't look terrible of the other characters that they've done but this is by far of the the closest one they've ever done and I mean it's almost identical.
[00:45:19] Let's talk here.
[00:45:20] So after they came out with those yeah I mean they just they did like times that's the only problem I had actually the Tim's artwork to was I didn't much care.
[00:45:30] For the faces he put on there they were little too like you'd see Halloween rather than scary.
[00:45:36] I get you again kids book so you know I let it slide about like man I just wish I were a little bit more scary.
[00:45:42] They do look like they do look like almost just like regular like goofy looking pumpkin heads.
[00:45:49] Yeah, but these ones look like actually scary like you wouldn't want to run into those things especially when they're chasing after you in the woods and they're like just y'all in like trick or treat forever forever.
[00:46:01] I don't know what that's just these.
[00:46:04] Calls put on the head and after whatever yeah the crowd.
[00:46:11] All right moving on to the next page have those uh,
[00:46:18] we're going to get to those and just the second don't you where I didn't forget about those ones.
[00:46:22] Oh, right.
[00:46:23] But first okay so here on the top left we have what was it piranha person or something from a shotgun shock tree.
[00:46:32] Something like that it was basically just a person with a fish head.
[00:46:38] I like it it's cheesy and corny but I really like it.
[00:46:41] We had sound really weird sound.
[00:46:45] That's what I was trying to tell the world.
[00:46:50] Yeah, it was like it was kind of creepy though in a way but yeah it was it was so weird.
[00:47:00] And then we got the old man mask from asking to.
[00:47:05] I want to go on record say that that is the scariest goose bumps thing to me when I was a kid.
[00:47:12] Yeah, that's like yeah, that's where we had to agree with AJ like yeah.
[00:47:16] It's the scenes when like you know with the sweat dripping down and like yeah that freaked out with the boys and everything.
[00:47:23] I think I already think that like old people are scary.
[00:47:27] So any time there's like old people in horror movies it's like a weird creepy thing but as a kid seeing that like it was way scarier than the original.
[00:47:35] I think it's not a normal thing.
[00:47:37] Well, it's because it's something that goes on what you just said think about the nightmare scene from the Jack of the Jack of the lanterns.
[00:47:45] I think those old people in that were you know we've talked about all the times kind of creepier than anything else.
[00:47:52] I think this bumps were the old you guys.
[00:47:54] You're the guy.
[00:47:55] Yeah, I was in the you don't want to move the X thing.
[00:48:00] Yeah, no X with a weird one dude.
[00:48:03] I said credit credit credit to the actor who played this guy too because I think you nailed it with the old people because I think.
[00:48:13] The the hunt of mass was scary for sure, but I think when you add the realism of like his face is getting sucked in and he's actually becoming the old man.
[00:48:23] Yeah, you know, I think the fact that it was such a good job of actually making it look like he was like this old decrepit man.
[00:48:32] The funny thing about the haunted mask wanted to is that the haunted mask won and I'm sorry to cut you off, but this is something that realized over the years.
[00:48:41] Is that the haunted mask won is more scary about the things happening around Carly Beth like the other masks and just.
[00:48:49] You know, just like kind of what's happening to her internally this one in the haunted mask too is pure body horror it's like you are just rapidly aging and not just aging like.
[00:49:02] Gross aging like your fingers have been coming like a long and untrimmed your face is that you got spiders crawling in your hair.
[00:49:12] So it's like it never be stared by the haunted mask because like it was kind of cool that you were becoming this creepy thing and the only thing happening is that you turn into a kind of a dick, but this one is literally killing you.
[00:49:26] Crazy and then like when the haunted mask itself like comes to him and is like trying to get him to grab the Carly Beth head.
[00:49:35] When he refuses, it's just like then I'll make you worse he's like your tongue will dry up or like your eyes will turn down.
[00:49:42] Oh yeah, he was like.
[00:49:44] Yeah, he's like free.
[00:49:45] Yeah, like the can't breathe.
[00:49:47] Well, it's horrifying terrifying concept on a mask too.
[00:49:51] I just and I will never understand why it's underrated why don't more people.
[00:49:55] I think because the haunted mask one is seen as more like wanted to more nostalgic and to it's a little more.
[00:50:03] I guess gravitas in it's approach the the sequel is definitely more like typical goose bumps sort of stuff in the haunted mask one is.
[00:50:14] A little more emotional in it to approach so that's probably why is people kind of live with the first one more.
[00:50:20] Well, that yeah, you add to the story too that it's not just an nostalgic part but sometimes.
[00:50:28] Directors or whoever's doing it they may not that they nailed a story so good.
[00:50:33] That it's almost like it's not replicated but it's that sequel will never be able to amount to the hype.
[00:50:42] Yeah, first one.
[00:50:44] Yeah, and then we have some of the other horrors from a new and at harrowing so we took a look at the the good version in the last slide these ones I'm not too crazy about I think.
[00:50:58] It's just the static face and the yellow eyes there's really like no expression.
[00:51:05] It's the blossom hat and I never noticed that before.
[00:51:09] Well, that's the that makes it funny that they pull like all this weird stuff on them like you can see one down here has like really big nerd glasses on like can you see that in the bottom of the bottom right.
[00:51:23] Those are very product glasses. Yeah, not nerdy.
[00:51:26] But like when they have to have one talk like this guy with the head like it's funny.
[00:51:31] But it's like when you compare it to the ones that you can actually see their eyes and their mouth move it just there's I don't know you know what I mean it's hard for me to put in words but it's like you kind of wish they all had like really like facial movements and not just static head right talking these ones actually do seem like fake monsters on at park.
[00:51:52] And also the the rushing and it makes me wonder if if there were times when they didn't have the time to do or make the prosthetics with the practical effect and they were like okay with this one we're just going to do a static head you know.
[00:52:10] Yeah, and it's kind of a bummer because you make she think like if that is the case what did it look like if they were able to take their time on it.
[00:52:18] Yeah, they definitely saved it for like more than that.
[00:52:21] But these are cases because this was one I think that we did talk about them Alan and Ron and they both pretty much said yeah this one I think one of the more demanding two part episodes because of how many they had to make.
[00:52:40] Yeah, so I don't doubt that that's probably what happened there's a lot of static monster masks had to be made yeah while there's a few played by Ron in a couple others actually too then.
[00:52:54] Had the eyes in the mouth and everything that were just applied on well we found out that the one that gives the monster punches I think is played by Ron in his voice by Ron so it's like.
[00:53:06] Two monster punches coming all right oh.
[00:53:10] Yeah, that's right.
[00:53:11] So cool.
[00:53:12] I love it.
[00:53:13] All right moving on so all four of these are from the same episode of the hunting house game and they're not the only ones but there were the only ones.
[00:53:21] That they were the ones that I picked for this slide show.
[00:53:25] This episode went for a lot of just kind of typical goosh looks I do like the two ladies here because they almost look dullish.
[00:53:34] But like very creepy doll like old like old ish doll.
[00:53:39] Look to them and then you have the.
[00:53:42] The captain and the fisherman on the right here.
[00:53:46] Yeah, I think they again the practical effect you know these ladies I think with the creepiest part about him is the realism you know not that obviously the darker make it adds to the touch of hint of death I guess but it's it's.
[00:54:01] You know there's there's actually older ladies that sometimes do where they're making a flag that I guess you know and it is kind of creepy when you see it you know and.
[00:54:12] It's yeah that's I'm not a big in that now.
[00:54:16] So what ages is be old people.
[00:54:21] People are creepy this episode people even the kids even the two kids turn out to be old people.
[00:54:31] Moving on we got some classics here so on the top here we have two pictures from the where will the fever swamp so on the right we have.
[00:54:39] I just a close up pick of what the actual wolf looks like from that jump scare.
[00:54:46] That's like the only really clear picture you get of the wolf in the episode a lot of it is very shadow very shadowed.
[00:54:53] Due to the lighting which I kind of like it the thing about goose bumps is that sometimes.
[00:54:59] Obscuring what the monster looks like actually kind of made it scarier.
[00:55:03] You know what I mean because you can only imagine what it looks like then at that point right and there are many moments.
[00:55:09] With that but on the left you have sort of the half transformation of will when the moon gets hidden and he's half transformed and he's been like get away.
[00:55:19] I don't want to hurt you but I can't help myself.
[00:55:22] I can't speak on this one I'm not going to say what it looks like but yeah it is cool.
[00:55:29] It's just like it is neat to see like what half like what is halfway between human and wolf.
[00:55:37] It actually almost looks like sort of the old classic where wolf like the one, Cheney, Junior wolf man sort of thing you guys see it.
[00:55:47] I like how you can see his.
[00:55:49] The bottom of his human mouth at the mask and his little teeth inside the teeth.
[00:55:54] Oh yeah I love you can see the actor like actually in there it's awesome.
[00:55:59] Yeah I think it's just it brings that real is like the digital picture where you see their eyes and their mouth and so on.
[00:56:05] I will say there is one other monster in this show.
[00:56:09] I feel like you were going to probably bring it up be worn we will get to that one in a second that does have the same thing with the mouth inside the mouth.
[00:56:17] But we'll get to that one.
[00:56:20] I threw this one on the bottom left and for fun this is Dr. Ritter what happens to him at the end of deep trouble the series finale.
[00:56:29] Fish people get a hold of them they give him some of that magic plant in or whatever the formula and give him gills.
[00:56:38] More than gills.
[00:56:41] So it's pretty basic but I just like it it's.
[00:56:44] It's a prankton.
[00:56:45] Yeah plankton crabs magic.
[00:56:49] And then we got the lawnnoms on the bottom right here.
[00:56:55] I mean these guys are pretty terrifying I'm going to be honest.
[00:57:00] They did a lot yeah they definitely put the name and know him for that one.
[00:57:06] I mean like when they put them in like bow lighting there's that one shot where the sister falls and then you just see one of them being like.
[00:57:14] Like that's creepy.
[00:57:16] One of the rare occasions where the chiefy show look is scarier than art on the book.
[00:57:24] Yeah that's the thing.
[00:57:25] The art spirit.
[00:57:27] If you went off the art on the book it looks more like gremlins where it's like oh I mean it's not that scary.
[00:57:33] But this show like if there was an army of these things running around like I would get my basement never come out.
[00:57:40] I'm not like we will go up in that.
[00:57:43] It's like I'd be more scared than if the wear will falls next to me and my bed you know what I mean like.
[00:57:49] What's your back in that whole innocent looking thing you know what I mean like.
[00:57:53] What's your intent.
[00:57:54] Whoa I don't know if anybody else here has kids besides me I've got one I got a daughter when she was younger.
[00:58:00] She did that I woke up and she was a stand in there.
[00:58:04] But I'm watching me sleep and she just about got jute no chopped not totally lucky.
[00:58:10] So I have a funeral instead of a tough conversation because.
[00:58:15] I'm glad I was going to have a attack or I was going to like.
[00:58:18] Okay so when I first met my wife one of the very first nights that I stayed tonight.
[00:58:25] It was the millenight I woke up and you know how like you think you see things like even as an adult like when you're sleeping you wake up and you see a shadow whatever anyway.
[00:58:35] So her daughter Hazel our daughter Cheatie the door was open it was pitch black.
[00:58:41] And all I remember is looking at the edge of the bed and there was this dark silhouette couldn't see what it was it was too dark but I knew there was a silhouette and it just stood there.
[00:58:53] And out of the worst possible thing she could do it not just only stand next to the bed.
[00:58:58] She rushed as fast as she could and lunged into the bed.
[00:59:03] And I got to do that when I tell you I jumped up as fast as humanly possible and I turn I just said mother I just like she started a cry felt so bad she started crying out well turn line I go.
[00:59:18] What are you thinking like are you you just about kind of your ex kicked like.
[00:59:23] I said do not ever rush our bed like that again ever ever ever ever.
[00:59:30] Yeah, I should be dead.
[00:59:32] People do you know what's going on?
[00:59:34] Should be dead.
[00:59:37] Yeah, various things on her kids and old people.
[00:59:40] I was going to find out before we move on from the nooms that they are probably so scary because nooms are technically just forceful and statues of old people.
[00:59:50] Yeah, yeah, all the best of the old people.
[00:59:53] Yeah, yeah, yeah, all the best of the old people.
[00:59:57] Yeah, all right.
[00:59:59] Here we are at the next page.
[01:00:02] So first up on the top left we have another one from deep trouble.
[01:00:07] This one also was in shock around shock street but it was more primarily focused on deep trouble but you have this it turned out to be sort of a crab man.
[01:00:17] It's so that he has like a crab claw when he puts it up to Dr. Deep's face.
[01:00:22] But man look at that face those teeth.
[01:00:25] Like in that mouth there's even like teeth like coming out from his lip.
[01:00:30] Like if you can see.
[01:00:31] It looks like a variation of the haunted mask honestly like it's just more twisted but it's a it's a cool looking mask.
[01:00:40] That's a demon mask.
[01:00:42] That's the three cool.
[01:00:45] It's not going to stop mold.
[01:00:47] I will say off topic just nerd now right now.
[01:00:50] I don't care what y'all say about it.
[01:00:52] The scarecrow episode is probably one of like my top three it like books and episodes.
[01:00:58] Same.
[01:00:58] I love scarecrow.
[01:01:00] I love scarecrow.
[01:01:02] Oh, that one that one too.
[01:01:04] Did it inform me.
[01:01:05] I don't know if you want to see it.
[01:01:07] I'm sure that's the one of my favorite episode that is one of my favorite monster designs from the whole goosebumps 90 series right there.
[01:01:14] That is a terrifying looking scarecrow.
[01:01:17] And they didn't show her to lot like you see it still a lot of them like passing the window and like mostly episode it was really like them trying to figure out where he was you know.
[01:01:26] Nice and stereo though like your long to see it.
[01:01:29] Yeah, you got to use like your imagination.
[01:01:32] Yeah.
[01:01:32] Well, and also by these things too like that's what makes it so scary is just I mentioned this in our top five scary step of so but like most of my favorites have some sort of like feeling of isolation.
[01:01:44] Being in the middle of like a farm in the country where nothing for miles is like corn fields and the scarecrow is a horrifying thought.
[01:01:54] And there's just something about scarecrow's in general.
[01:01:57] That like they're not the typical kind of monster you would think of you know like a vampire or where wolf it's like scarecrow's are just inherently creepy because they're just kind of hung up they're just watching over everything.
[01:02:11] And I don't know it's just it almost gets you almost look at them is like for me kind of like dead people.
[01:02:19] Like they just kind of look like you're just hanging dead people over your lawn.
[01:02:23] You know what I mean?
[01:02:25] Yeah, like the the scarecrow's untapped or market because I mean you have dark night of the scarecrow that was a TV and it was okay.
[01:02:34] I mean it wasn't fantastic but it was okay.
[01:02:37] The super super screepers kind of played the scarecrow bit a little bit when you kind of had like that man's hero but that one's not really a monster it's just a feeling.
[01:02:46] The one that the one that really got me honestly into and it was actually a book, private by Alvin Schwartz but as a kid I had the audio tape in the book but in like the fourth grade I had the privilege of an unfortunate privilege of reading scary stories to tell in the dark.
[01:03:04] And that's where I was going.
[01:03:08] Yeah, Harold when I heard that in Alvin Schwartz very dude.
[01:03:13] I don't know if you guys have listened to those audio tapes narrated by Alvin Schwartz but if you do they're a little cheesy now is an adult but some of them especially with the nostalgic creepy music he plays in the background.
[01:03:25] It's it's pretty creepy even now isn't it adult like it's pretty creepy and I'm really surprised them made that for kids to be honest.
[01:03:32] Well and I don't really care for the scary stories movie but I will say that they did a great job bringing that design to life in that movie.
[01:03:41] It made for really creepy scene I will say.
[01:03:46] But yeah scarecrow is more of it like this episode I could use more scarecrow but.
[01:03:52] There's a good scarecrow scare in house of a thousand corpses I really care for obsombies movies but they utilize as multiple scarecros and then one of them just happens to be Otis and he like jumps off the post and whatever.
[01:04:09] Yeah, yeah.
[01:04:11] Yeah, yeah.
[01:04:17] Yeah, yeah.
[01:04:17] But yeah, you're gonna want to make my favorite episodes so yeah that is not a hot take here my friend.
[01:04:26] Down here on the bottom left we have now I hate say cheese and die again it is one of my weak favorite episode in the whole show but I will admit I do think that this skeleton grim Reaper thing from the beginning.
[01:04:39] It's just amazing I love that design of the hooded skeleton.
[01:04:44] Oh, so good.
[01:04:46] I'm going to try and get the slime on Brian Gosling let's go.
[01:04:51] Well that one didn't have a lot of Gosling in though.
[01:04:53] I had a run out of Ryan Gosling who was it who was in he was in say cheese or die was he was in the first one this is the sequel episode we're talking about.
[01:05:02] Yeah, okay see I'm a little rusty on that one now no Ryan Gosling in the sequel which automatically deducted 10 points from it.
[01:05:08] Yeah, that's he came out I mean it's over now you know I didn't want to see it.
[01:05:14] And then we have Harrison's transformation in the sloppy.
[01:05:19] And a brightening dummy now minimal stuff here but those eyes man.
[01:05:25] Well I'm more than sure if I have a perfect capture for that but I don't know if I'm allowed to say it on here.
[01:05:32] Go forward.
[01:05:34] I wish you could keep sucking.
[01:05:41] I mean through.
[01:05:44] You might have to put that out but that's true.
[01:05:46] Yeah, you're.
[01:05:49] You're pulling up the eyes.
[01:05:52] So what about the head?
[01:05:54] I'm more concerned about the little Jerry curl going on in the front.
[01:06:01] That's what he was doing when he was in the sink there he was like fixing his hair so we can do the turnaround and be like so I was a look.
[01:06:12] Should slashing a bit named curly.
[01:06:16] I've got a bad.
[01:06:17] I mean the TV show one certainly had that had that name.
[01:06:22] Wait wait if I told my joke you have to tell yours.
[01:06:26] As you know that are his guy needs pads on he's ready to go to Pantan you know either one.
[01:06:31] Boy.
[01:06:33] Like you.
[01:06:34] Well the 18 plus addition of.
[01:06:38] Yeah.
[01:06:41] Yeah, moving on we got.
[01:06:43] Well, yeah so we got attacking him.
[01:06:46] So we got to go to the last one from deep trouble.
[01:06:50] We got here in the middle.
[01:06:52] I don't even know what this thing is supposed to be.
[01:06:54] I just remember it had a really like.
[01:06:57] Interesting noise that it made it was like a really throwty like.
[01:07:00] Oh, the super soaker.
[01:07:03] Yeah.
[01:07:05] But but then it's.
[01:07:06] And then the galloping gazelle.
[01:07:09] So the galloping gazelle as famous we know and is played by Adam West.
[01:07:13] In the episode of the late Adam West.
[01:07:18] And the mass moon as I said I think is almost like a perfect recreation of the book cover minus the the musky where like just you know the musky where arms being out in the book cover.
[01:07:29] But I think these two are.
[01:07:30] What is it that that episode was like.
[01:07:33] It was a terrible episode but like the.
[01:07:36] The mass means to design is perfect the head quote is looks straight from the.
[01:07:41] Like the outside.
[01:07:42] I just think that was what I know a budget was for that said.
[01:07:47] Well, and getting Adam West too was probably not a you know a cheater.
[01:07:53] Well, what was the budget?
[01:07:55] You remember they said that that set was a.
[01:07:58] An abandoned factory or something that's no longer there.
[01:08:02] But that's why they were able to.
[01:08:04] To utilize it because it was like either free or very cheap.
[01:08:07] They just had a lighting and a few other things.
[01:08:09] Adam West probably was the most expensive thing but he did it because remember they said that he could keep this costume.
[01:08:16] Like he had that put in his contract for to make up the difference and pay that he get to keep the galvanic is a cost to.
[01:08:23] That's cool.
[01:08:23] It's really cool.
[01:08:25] Yeah, I've been like going to clean his house out and you find that as calls it.
[01:08:29] There's like what the fuck is nobody wants it.
[01:08:31] We're like now we'll take it.
[01:08:35] And then the mass mutants got week where I mean we've already said it especially when we pat him on but was just a delight in this role.
[01:08:43] He was so amazing.
[01:08:46] So I mean this episode just captured the sort of Adam West Batman aesthetic that they were going forward with the superhero thing.
[01:08:54] Everything was so colorful.
[01:08:56] It's why I wish that focused on this more like, you know, this is the stuff I wanted to see if they had a whole episode just based on this.
[01:09:03] I think I'd probably like it more.
[01:09:06] But I thought I would present really well without the mass mutants that episode would have really bombed.
[01:09:14] No Adam West could have saved that.
[01:09:16] Now it's got really that role but that's one thing like I really hope sugar treat studios does is that mass mutant mask.
[01:09:23] Like I would be absolutely well.
[01:09:25] I would want to ask you.
[01:09:26] Dark one monster and the long.
[01:09:28] I don't know if you make so many more but one goes like.
[01:09:34] I've seen him did make that.
[01:09:37] Hmm.
[01:09:37] Maybe she needs to.
[01:09:39] Well that was one made by.
[01:09:42] That's me.
[01:09:43] Oh anyway.
[01:09:48] All right, so here we have Mr.
[01:09:51] I wasn't originally.
[01:09:53] It's a very happy in this slide show because slapping himself is a prop.
[01:09:59] I consider but I then I remembered that there is a costume version of slappy in either living
[01:10:04] dummy three and it's pretty unchrysmall.
[01:10:08] I could be honest.
[01:10:10] Well this mask is better than the one that hots put out.
[01:10:14] I'll say that.
[01:10:16] Oh, they went.
[01:10:17] I can say.
[01:10:18] Well, that that hot mask of slappy looks stupid.
[01:10:22] We'll straight up say it.
[01:10:23] It looks stupid.
[01:10:24] I agree.
[01:10:25] I said.
[01:10:26] But I don't have any.
[01:10:28] Yeah, but yeah.
[01:10:30] Well it's because you can obviously go when it's a person in a mask and when it's the actual
[01:10:35] dummy like it is.
[01:10:37] Waiting the obvious.
[01:10:39] Especially when it goes from like him being on the table like as the dummy and then he starts
[01:10:43] chasing them and it's very clearly like a person in the costume.
[01:10:48] Yeah, I hate the environments and like just I don't like it at all.
[01:10:52] So we're just like the Sue actor like had to have the hands like this.
[01:10:56] Yeah, I don't know how that trend is like kind of just stop just talking.
[01:11:01] Yeah, yeah, there reminded me of a C.
[01:11:03] P.O.
[01:11:03] It was like, Oh, you do well.
[01:11:06] You're right.
[01:11:07] That's why I still think not only the two is the best one.
[01:11:10] Is it's just it's the practical effect in time to surprise.
[01:11:14] And it was genuinely free.
[01:11:17] Like not only do we choose free.
[01:11:19] Yeah, I don't know.
[01:11:21] Yeah, the only thing is just a group of great bad decisions who said hey we need a suit version
[01:11:26] from sloppy.
[01:11:27] I think it's just because how much sloppy movies in this episode.
[01:11:31] You know what he moves a lot but you know what would have made it better was if they just
[01:11:36] chose between one or the other.
[01:11:38] Because the episode was shot well how good sound tracking everything the actors were really
[01:11:42] good.
[01:11:43] I'm not saying well like it's yeah, I don't know.
[01:11:48] I just think they should have chose between one or the other because if the whole episode just had this.
[01:11:53] It's the going back and forth thing that really bug me.
[01:11:57] They should have just made a decision we're going to do the mask one for the entire episode
[01:12:01] or going to use the public for the whole episode.
[01:12:03] Make the decision.
[01:12:05] You know what I mean?
[01:12:05] I don't even think it's just a bit of thought.
[01:12:11] And then I didn't have a picture of it in the slideshow but as we were talking about earlier,
[01:12:16] you know, the mouth being within the mouth and then the digital thing.
[01:12:20] There is a shot in this episode where you can see it like clear as day that there's just a mouth
[01:12:26] within slapping mouth.
[01:12:28] That is the one part about the night of living.
[01:12:31] I think why I never got super attached to it was I will say Tim's art on night of living
[01:12:40] in the original like his first couple of covers really captivated me as a kid.
[01:12:46] And when I saw it on TV like this, I was immediately as a kid like turned off to it
[01:12:52] because it doesn't look really anything like what he had put on the art.
[01:12:58] And it was one of those that I really was hoping they were going to stick kind of true to the dummy.
[01:13:04] And like you said, when they went kind of live with it and he became,
[01:13:07] I was like, eh, this is not you know.
[01:13:10] There's something really creepy about the aesthetic of a doll coming to life and talking and you know all the things
[01:13:17] and yeah they butchered it in my opinion.
[01:13:21] So yeah, I'm the office that I love the art on the books but I love TV so that I think he is like the perfect thing.
[01:13:29] It was on.
[01:13:35] It's a it's a it's definitely a taste sort of thing because I've heard people say both.
[01:13:39] I've heard people say that the TV show one is like really, really good.
[01:13:42] Some people I've actually met people who like it more than the Tim Jocobas art like they just think it's the like definitive version
[01:13:50] and then there's some people who aren't a fan of it and I mean I see both sides.
[01:13:55] I feel like I mean obviously the voices I kind of you know, I mean it.
[01:13:58] Yeah, I think for me, I watched it anyway.
[01:14:02] I think just like that's the kind of bummer is I feel like if I would have saw the TV show first versus the art,
[01:14:08] I probably would have had as I respected now.
[01:14:10] I love it now.
[01:14:12] Like now is an adult like I appreciate all of it but as a kid looking back,
[01:14:18] it's kind of like that movie versus book which ever comes first you tend to like more you know.
[01:14:23] Yeah.
[01:14:23] Yeah.
[01:14:23] So actually that leads to my question for you then so since the movie slapy, I was going to ask
[01:14:29] to say more looking more like the book is do you prefer that over TV?
[01:14:36] So hey, are you talking about the Disney plus one that you hate astronomically?
[01:14:42] No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[01:14:43] The jackpot is not a new TV show.
[01:14:45] I try not to talk about the new TV show unless I like absolutely have to.
[01:14:48] But thank you.
[01:14:49] I was talking about the jackpot movie.
[01:14:51] So, oh, um, you know, I, I don't know, I wasn't a huge frame of that movie to be honest.
[01:15:03] I thought it was a little goofy.
[01:15:05] Uh, but my kids really enjoyed it so I watched it quite a bit but I, I don't know.
[01:15:13] I feel like in that one was it seemed like in the movie version they made him a little more
[01:15:18] childish.
[01:15:19] I guess you could say like, um, I don't know if it was an innocence thing kind of but
[01:15:25] I mean, if you watch that compared to like this, I mean, it's nine day like they're two
[01:15:30] different spectrums.
[01:15:33] And then of course, obviously the new one on Disney plus as well, that it's pretty dark for
[01:15:38] going to be honest.
[01:15:39] I mean, it's not quite as a compared that one reminds me a little more the old one.
[01:15:43] Like it's pretty dark in a lot of ways because they're gearing more towards our generation
[01:15:47] not just kids.
[01:15:50] But yeah, I wasn't a big fan of the, um, of the RL style ones.
[01:15:59] The movie version definitely was like, it was kind of equated until like Keith
[01:16:08] Letters Joe Curtis, like, I'm an agent of chaos.
[01:16:10] Like he was just kind of like, I just want to do stuff to do stuff.
[01:16:14] Yeah, it just seemed like he was just like, oh, let's see how much we can get away with.
[01:16:18] Yeah, he shows up.
[01:16:20] He was going to hit Amy's parents with a guitar and, you know, then was going to turn
[01:16:26] Zane and what dummy and just kind of fuck with him for the rest of his life or
[01:16:31] was going to like, in the, in the book, you know,
[01:16:34] I was going to talk with him.
[01:16:39] Yeah, it's like exclusively looked angry all the time.
[01:16:43] Yeah.
[01:16:45] Yeah.
[01:16:45] When you can tell he was pissed all the time.
[01:16:47] And that's kind of like this new one too.
[01:16:48] I think that's why I think I respect Disney plus one and I know they messed up the, I'm
[01:16:53] 100% with you on the haunted mask.
[01:16:56] I was very pissed about that.
[01:16:57] But I will say the one I feel like the sloppy, uh, I was pretty impressed with.
[01:17:03] Like I thought not only did they do a good job aesthetically like through his looks, but
[01:17:08] I think just personality wise it's a lot darker.
[01:17:12] I mean, not if this was like the best review.
[01:17:15] Um, not allowing dummy was considered the best episode of the Disney
[01:17:18] Plus show because I was a one thing people actually said they liked was this sloppy.
[01:17:22] Yeah, we're not even back.
[01:17:23] You finally got his backstory too, right?
[01:17:25] You got kind of like where he originated from and how and why.
[01:17:30] And it like it kind of made it make so much more sense in that regard, you know.
[01:17:35] Well, I'll leave that version.
[01:17:37] Right.
[01:17:37] I know.
[01:17:37] I want to move on really quick to, um, we're almost at the end of the 90s TV show,
[01:17:42] but I want to give two exclusive honorable mentions to to Halloween costumes in the show.
[01:17:48] And the first one is both cats with cats and long as the duck costume.
[01:17:54] Yeah, duck walk.
[01:17:56] So, ducks, baby.
[01:17:58] Woo.
[01:17:59] And then we have a walker as a dark and story night.
[01:18:04] I say, I see the dark, but where's the story me?
[01:18:13] He is lucky.
[01:18:15] Her dad didn't just punch him in the face.
[01:18:20] Well, that's what we're talking about.
[01:18:22] Oh, you just feel like, uh, what the fuck are you supposed to be?
[01:18:29] I'm a little bit.
[01:18:30] I just love the, I don't know if you guys watch Only Plays, but he once told a story about how
[01:18:36] one Halloween and like I think it's late 20s.
[01:18:40] He wore like a gorilla, like one of those skin type gorilla costumes.
[01:18:43] But he wore like, uh, it was cold, so he wore like a jacket and a beanie, like a big hat and he wore
[01:18:50] a big boots and he got stopped by a black guy and he was like, so, um, what the fuck are you supposed to be?
[01:18:55] And they was like, uh, silver back gorilla.
[01:18:58] And then the guy was like, ah, later.
[01:19:05] So good.
[01:19:07] All right.
[01:19:07] Now we're going to take a look at some of the aftermath of these TV show costumes because as we said,
[01:19:13] I mean, this TV show was over 30 years ago now and as Ron Stephanie gave us all this, not all of these
[01:19:19] prosthetics and mass experimentalists.
[01:19:21] So first we're going to start off with what the haunted mask looks like now.
[01:19:26] Oh, one of them.
[01:19:29] Now it looks like the old man mask.
[01:19:33] Yeah, I have one for that for that being foam latex.
[01:19:38] That's a really good shape for them to not have really taken care of it.
[01:19:43] Like foam latex is crazy, crazy, uh, rot,
[01:19:48] like if you think latex masks are rot worthy, foam latex, the inside is a sponge.
[01:19:54] So every time they put that on and off it absorbed every little bit of sweat or,
[01:20:01] yeah, it's just I've had foam latex masks that lasted like a year and a half under my care.
[01:20:07] So that is actually really impressive to me.
[01:20:10] But unfortunately, I mean, you can definitely see that there is a mask sold and became publicized.
[01:20:16] Like I was talking to the guy who owned it beforehand.
[01:20:20] Yeah, that's the one I'm, that's how I got at the pieces from it.
[01:20:22] It's very brittle and why it's that way is because Steve Levitan, who was an executive producer for goosebumps,
[01:20:30] took this mask at production because he liked the episode so much.
[01:20:35] Captain apparently, we're some like hit it every day of its life.
[01:20:38] Oh, still going to desk in a office.
[01:20:40] I saw it.
[01:20:41] Yep.
[01:20:41] And it shrunk and it's hardened.
[01:20:44] And I think the only reason it might be preserved at this point like it is, I mean, yeah, it's brittle.
[01:20:51] And I guess the person who owns it now told me that they were going to take it and get it sealed and everything else.
[01:20:58] So try to preserve it as best as possible.
[01:21:01] It's good.
[01:21:01] Stay it.
[01:21:03] But I know there's two more out there.
[01:21:05] I just don't know what they look like.
[01:21:07] Yeah, it's a long as long.
[01:21:09] I got one and Captain long has one.
[01:21:13] So, but this is the only one that has been like a frecially existence.
[01:21:18] And yeah, this is the only one that we've seen at least.
[01:21:21] Yeah, has been officially publicized to be like, hey, this is one of the original masks used in the episode.
[01:21:29] So I mean, I was supposed to buy that off of that guy before it got out to whoever else.
[01:21:34] But he was so incredibly difficult to work with that I gave up.
[01:21:42] I mean, yeah.
[01:21:43] Well, we were talking about that.
[01:21:45] Yeah, I talked to him quite a bit.
[01:21:47] I just never, I never got the offer and next thing I know it's all of them like, oh.
[01:21:52] Yeah, because it was a very bizarre situation between me and him and like his assistant or some like maybe a doll.
[01:21:58] I'd rather than was like trying to help him or something.
[01:22:01] But whatever.
[01:22:03] You know, AJ, I know that I have an original cast for place that back here in the box and the guy worked at trendmaster.
[01:22:10] And it's like one of the original like there's like three left and it was the same situation.
[01:22:16] Like I had to, it was on eBay and I had to email this guy like for like a month before he would he like made me prove to him that I had an actual collection all these things before he would even send it to me.
[01:22:28] Finally anyway, finally he did, but it was almost gave up.
[01:22:32] Same thing I told him at one point I might do listen, are we?
[01:22:35] Are we doing this or we not?
[01:22:37] Yeah, are we going to make it sale?
[01:22:39] Are we going to ask questions back and forth?
[01:22:42] So yeah.
[01:22:44] Well, so we've seen what one of the original mask looks like now we're going to take a quick look at the original mask that are present currently in Ron Steffin.
[01:22:53] Like studio courtesy it came for the 90s on YouTube.
[01:22:58] Oh, on May 18, 2018 I traveled to Scarborough on Tariot and meet with Ron Steffin.
[01:23:02] They get a studio, Ron is the original voice and puppeteer of Slappy as well as the creator and many monsters.
[01:23:10] There it goes.
[01:23:13] Look at some of these.
[01:23:23] That's the original skeleton for the trunk and head.
[01:23:28] That's the original skeleton for the trunk and head.
[01:23:33] That's the original skeleton for the trunk and head.
[01:23:37] On the moment cat.
[01:23:44] You can see that's someone that held up there in the others.
[01:23:48] This one's too close.
[01:23:50] Definitely man mask.
[01:23:52] You have to move.
[01:23:58] Mm-hmm.
[01:23:59] It is man.
[01:24:01] It's a carcrow.
[01:24:02] That actually looks decent shape.
[01:24:03] Oh yeah, I have to have them.
[01:24:04] Free folks pretty good.
[01:24:05] Looks good shape.
[01:24:06] That's good too.
[01:24:07] It goes like good.
[01:24:08] Hold man, what's good?
[01:24:11] Does that taste?
[01:24:14] It's a potato right beneath me.
[01:24:17] I'm probably going to smell it.
[01:24:20] I don't know why I'm helping you.
[01:24:22] What's up?
[01:24:22] I don't know what it is.
[01:24:25] There's anything.
[01:24:28] I believe that last ton of masks that was in that last shot is the one that got war in on
[01:24:34] mass 2 was.
[01:24:37] What was?
[01:24:40] Where's a where will he has to somewhere, I know.
[01:24:43] There's something more to there.
[01:24:47] It's a little bit of a lot of people.
[01:24:47] It'll be right there.
[01:24:52] Body for one of the ants from Austin ants.
[01:24:55] It's okay.
[01:24:57] Shane, they know how that malice part of it.
[01:25:00] There's the big puffer fish.
[01:25:05] The retro choice store that I used to help out at and get a bunch of really awesome collectibles with their.
[01:25:11] They make the mistake all they still do it.
[01:25:13] I don't I've told them to not do it but they do anyway.
[01:25:16] They have a really big windows like huge windows in the front and they put all like a bunch of retro toys up front.
[01:25:22] Well, this son and Oregon City Oregon when it comes up.
[01:25:26] It's like right there in the west you know so it like it doesn't take more than just a couple months and all that stuff.
[01:25:34] It doesn't matter if it's winter summer it just fades.
[01:25:38] And I mean some of the toys I brought off the front you know I mean they're like pink and teal you know it just all the colors gone.
[01:25:45] And it's so sad watch because I'm just like I tell them like this toy is like ruined you know like I mean you use I mean the packaging at least you've essentially ruined it.
[01:25:57] You know I know AJ you just picked out the window in your place too.
[01:26:03] Yeah, because I actually just watched that video recently and how were some of those.
[01:26:09] The mask of there you said they've been in that window for what it's close to four years.
[01:26:15] Yeah, we're all.
[01:26:17] It was three but probably closer to four.
[01:26:20] I did have a trigger treat studio is on a mask that my first one I had because the one up there in my background that's my second one.
[01:26:27] The first one I had I didn't really know much about latex at the time so that one ended up browning and cracking in a lot of places and I had to get rid of it.
[01:26:37] But fortunately I was able to find a new one actually at a retail store funny enough.
[01:26:44] I didn't change the price it was still the same price but it was much better taken care of.
[01:26:50] But a trigger treat down biggest downfall is like the cheap Mexico latex that they use.
[01:26:56] Which is why I'm happy that they do.
[01:26:58] I'm sorry the vinyl and the trigger treat studio span club occasionally you'll see somebody who's brave enough to show mask that.
[01:27:07] They haven't had very long but it's already my browningers starting to rot.
[01:27:12] Yeah, and just because of latex that use.
[01:27:15] So moving on to the goose bumps movie.
[01:27:20] Yeah, I want to line up some of the monsters here.
[01:27:24] I went primarily for the ones that weren't practical so the stuff like the mom will snowman the where will they're not going to be in this one.
[01:27:31] I wanted to focus on the ones that were purely make up or masks.
[01:27:35] So we have a lady.
[01:27:38] We have one of the graveyard ghouls professor shock.
[01:27:42] A creep and the bog monster so that is supposed to be the monster from how to kill monster at the end there.
[01:27:51] I guess that is the one thing that they got right with the movie was the creeps.
[01:27:55] It's like Tim's up.
[01:27:57] Road straight off.
[01:27:58] So we're going to cover even like the clothes that's wearing.
[01:28:02] Yeah.
[01:28:04] One thing they got right with the movie was the creep.
[01:28:08] And it just it looks so good so I make sure one to why they couldn't do that for the rest of the monsters in the movie.
[01:28:13] I was going to say I have almost I'm going to just sit this one out because I have almost nothing nice to say about it.
[01:28:20] I think some of them look good.
[01:28:22] I think the snake lady looks pretty nice.
[01:28:25] I do like sort of the texture on the skin and the eyes there.
[01:28:29] Going up next we have.
[01:28:31] Well first here we have the haunted mask in the goosebumps movie.
[01:28:35] We will revisit that and the next slide by the way because I actually found something very interesting but we have that one we have another graveyard ghoul.
[01:28:44] We have.
[01:28:44] We look like Ryan Reynolds put that on.
[01:28:48] Kind of does doesn't it.
[01:28:52] I see this.
[01:28:53] I can't see it now.
[01:28:57] And Captain Ben and Cronbee the troll.
[01:29:01] Both are very what will known goose bumps monsters I'm surprised they made it in the movie.
[01:29:07] So I found this picture.
[01:29:09] It is actually of a concept or what the haunted mask was going to look like in the movie.
[01:29:15] This is what it was originally set to look like before the final version.
[01:29:19] What do you guys think about this one?
[01:29:22] I think that looks like the look like most recent like book release for us.
[01:29:28] The eyes are a little wide in my opinion.
[01:29:32] Like I feel like there's too many.
[01:29:34] Too many arches between the nose and the eyes.
[01:29:39] I mean it's a cool kind of concept.
[01:29:41] I mean it looks really pissed off.
[01:29:43] Like the TV show, Mathbook had like an angry brow but it was more kind of like
[01:29:48] resting angry this one is just like.
[01:29:52] Yeah, it looks like it's going to try and eat.
[01:29:54] Oh, a little bit.
[01:29:57] But yeah I found it interesting.
[01:29:58] I was like wow I can't believe it was going to look so drastically different from the final one.
[01:30:04] I don't know what's other that to.
[01:30:06] Yeah.
[01:30:07] Moving on we got a few more monsters we got two graveyard ghouls bottom left or top left and bottom right.
[01:30:14] We have the mummy prince Coru we got the long hot the ward high executioner a scarecrow and count nightwing.
[01:30:23] I mean I like the scarecrow and I like the mummy.
[01:30:27] I'm not a big fan of count nightwing to be honest.
[01:30:32] No count nightwing looks like he belongs on a count no Brian sketch.
[01:30:36] Yeah.
[01:30:38] Like I can totally see that version just on a late night talk show sketch like it's it's bad.
[01:30:46] Yeah, I want to know how you mess up the executioner.
[01:30:50] Yeah, that one I'm not a big fan of you.
[01:30:54] It's a it's a cool suck.
[01:30:55] And it's terrifying on the book cover.
[01:30:58] It literally looks like you're going into party city.
[01:31:00] I mean as they have those ads of people in the costumes like that's what that's the vibe I get.
[01:31:06] I'm like it's fake that it doesn't look real.
[01:31:10] Hmm.
[01:31:10] Well, I mean you have this awesome scarecrow down here like I really do think so I think the scarecrow in this movie looks great.
[01:31:17] And as we'll see in a few slides they're pretty tall too like they made these things like towering over the actors.
[01:31:26] But yeah then you got one such is kind of kind of miss the ball on adapting these monsters.
[01:31:33] You think they've done down designs and made them less scary on purpose.
[01:31:38] I mean actually it kind of looks like could have been I mean here you got that.
[01:31:44] Because if we have the Jeff the end release.
[01:31:47] So I totally think they did.
[01:31:48] Yeah, it's not like hearing it's hard to get the planner.
[01:31:51] We got murdered the clown and then I forget the name of this person.
[01:31:57] I'm pretty sure.
[01:31:57] Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
[01:31:59] I'm pretty sure.
[01:32:00] It's like the dumb.
[01:32:00] The dumb dude.
[01:32:02] Madam.
[01:32:02] Madam.
[01:32:03] Yeah, I think so.
[01:32:05] I will say.
[01:32:05] Madam.
[01:32:06] I mean, I'll give her that and I like that they used an actual real person and like she's not like super over really done.
[01:32:14] But like the yeah, that the jackalander and like it's kind of weird because they basically took a pumpkin and then it literally has a skull face.
[01:32:24] But try to do the link to pumpkin.
[01:32:27] Yeah, yeah.
[01:32:28] That's a little odd.
[01:32:30] And then the clown is just a clown like I think.
[01:32:34] We're not going to have a green platform.
[01:32:36] My own clown.
[01:32:37] He's got your grills.
[01:32:39] Well he was from what I was told he was to promote the new book that was coming out at the time which was not my clown straight because you got murdered the clown.
[01:32:48] And that because that book came out right when we was coming out.
[01:32:52] So they were like, oh yeah, to those that don't know this character you will soon.
[01:32:56] I remember that was some of the things they said in the press talk and then sure enough there was a book not a wrong country.
[01:33:02] And that was who he was basically based on a note of the clown.
[01:33:08] Yeah.
[01:33:10] I don't know more than really impressing me with the clown.
[01:33:13] I just think scary clowns in general are silly.
[01:33:16] So here we have some group.
[01:33:18] I'm just thinking that I know man like the creep is stand out.
[01:33:23] I don't know.
[01:33:24] Yeah, you know what it is.
[01:33:27] What was your answer?
[01:33:28] Yeah, you also have like the body squeezer in the back here if you look at the left picture in the back you can see the body squeezer.
[01:33:35] That haunted mask looks so dumb.
[01:33:39] I literally like I'm looking at Ryan Reynolds like every time you show it like I'm like.
[01:33:43] It looks like an old lady who like had some bad piece of.
[01:33:51] I just think I picture him as like Deadpool just saying random shit like in that mask.
[01:33:59] We don't need that we need a spiff.
[01:34:02] Okay, I'm done.
[01:34:02] Sorry.
[01:34:03] But I just like like the skills.
[01:34:06] It does kind of look like a little bit.
[01:34:08] I just like that the scarecrow and the jackalaner and are like so tall like I just like that they tower over the other monsters that that's one thing I like about them.
[01:34:19] I'll snap.
[01:34:19] We got a pop a shangodam there.
[01:34:23] Who's.
[01:34:23] I'll snap.
[01:34:23] Wait though.
[01:34:26] Oh, yeah.
[01:34:28] Quickly taking a peek at movie number two.
[01:34:32] We have these three.
[01:34:33] Now these ones are purposefully done so the main characters can get past all the other monsters.
[01:34:40] I kind of like that it's almost like a reference to Halloween three because you have the wigs.
[01:34:44] Pumpkin and the skull.
[01:34:46] Big done.
[01:34:48] Yeah.
[01:34:48] I don't know.
[01:34:49] Very intentionally done there.
[01:34:51] Yeah, absolutely it has to be either that or it's just a very very good coincidence.
[01:34:58] All right moving on to the 20 23 series we're going to start off with slapping.
[01:35:04] So here we have going off of costume masks alone.
[01:35:07] We have two promotional ones.
[01:35:10] The one on the left was given out to I think just like fans.
[01:35:15] They're just like little paper cut out masks of slappy that you can hold over your face.
[01:35:20] And then on the low right here we have ones that were in a bunch of like tick talks and promotional videos that would be.
[01:35:26] Next to this version promotional version of slappy.
[01:35:33] I know I did you guys say you liked this version of slappy or did you say you didn't like it?
[01:35:39] I did.
[01:35:40] I thought it was a close as variation of the artwork that was put into play.
[01:35:48] And I don't like it at all. It looks like Vince McMahon to me.
[01:35:52] I like that. I see that it does look like now I can't see that now it does look like Vince McMahon.
[01:35:59] It looks a little better in the show when it's under like the second lighting.
[01:36:03] I do now I kind of like it you know.
[01:36:06] I see I seem to walk down to the.
[01:36:09] Yeah, this is doing the beam very your hot.
[01:36:14] Yeah, but I like him in the show.
[01:36:18] I thought.
[01:36:19] Brits a gear was a really great choice to do slappy.
[01:36:22] I did make the initial joke when the episode first dropped of like holy shit slappy's British.
[01:36:30] But I actually really like it and I do like this version of slappy.
[01:36:35] I think it's up there as one of my favorite interpretations.
[01:36:39] So I thought that for me, the eyes, I think they did like I think of the one difference that kind of made up with.
[01:36:46] The eyes they gave him were just they're so glassy and big, you know, and it just kind of gives him a new look.
[01:36:54] I guess in a sense compared to the others.
[01:36:56] Mm-hmm. Absolutely. I agree.
[01:36:59] All right. Now it's time to get into the forbidden zone.
[01:37:04] I don't know.
[01:37:05] The haunted mask.
[01:37:06] Oh, God.
[01:37:08] Why are you doing this?
[01:37:09] My God.
[01:37:10] We're watching the it's the goblin from Harry Potter.
[01:37:13] Well, I posted it for the other day.
[01:37:15] I always said it looked like Schmiegel's sister.
[01:37:19] That too.
[01:37:20] She was going to say I posted it for the other day.
[01:37:22] Go on, sister.
[01:37:23] Where I first went to spirit hall, Wayne and I found the trickery studios on a mask.
[01:37:28] And right next to it was like a golem mask.
[01:37:31] And Nick commenting was just like, wow, they have the original and the 2023 one there.
[01:37:40] Yeah.
[01:37:40] As soon as I saw the poor someone they advertised it because they didn't say was the haunted mask.
[01:37:46] At first, I was like, I swear to God, if that's the haunted mask, like I'm going to have a problem.
[01:37:53] Like, I don't think we can then like put a lunch in literally.
[01:37:57] They're literally Rob Letterman then had a video.
[01:37:59] We had to come out. Oh, it's going to look more like the book version.
[01:38:03] Once, you know, it fully takes over.
[01:38:06] I'm like, okay.
[01:38:06] We're not going to have that thought I'm let's see here.
[01:38:09] I was still skeptical.
[01:38:11] And sure, I'm glad I was because God damn what we got.
[01:38:17] We got like the middle one when it's smiling like that.
[01:38:20] I think it is creepy.
[01:38:21] I think that was like the only time it like really worked for me.
[01:38:25] But yeah, the I will say the transformation part, the two minute like transformation part.
[01:38:32] I think for me, like that was pretty cool to watch.
[01:38:36] Like, I mean, it's like the actual her transforming was kind of cool.
[01:38:40] But then when it became the full effect and the only thing I would say after is when she takes it off.
[01:38:46] Like you see like a little blood like she actually had it almost looks like she ripped it from her head.
[01:38:51] That I thought director wise like that was a cool like aesthetic to put in practically.
[01:38:57] But yeah, as far as the Grimlin here, you know,
[01:39:00] I think I just it looks so cheesy and fake and not not real.
[01:39:06] Even kind of made a green and it would have like improved it a little bit.
[01:39:12] Like even if you made it like green tint, like I don't know, it just I just want to know like what book he was referring to because it definitely wasn't based on Tim's art.
[01:39:22] And almost look like like oh, like my like scream of the haunted mask or I was like,
[01:39:28] I guess it looks like the one from the house of shivers.
[01:39:34] Yeah, it kind of looks just like that one like without the green.
[01:39:39] Like that's the one that when I first saw them like, I guess they would house like little back creatures.
[01:39:46] Yeah, I just watched the South Park Jersey shore episode the other day and all I can see is the Snoopy monster.
[01:39:57] Yeah, I love that maybe it should.
[01:40:00] Honestly if it was that, it probably would have been a little better.
[01:40:04] Well, we're officially out of the TV shows in the movies.
[01:40:07] So now we're going to get into stuff outside of those first up.
[01:40:10] We're starting with how the goosebumps monsters looked at the Walt Disney,
[01:40:13] probably in Freit Show in 1997.
[01:40:18] As you can see, Slapby here looks very similar to the TV show, but you have cuddles Prince Coru.
[01:40:23] I don't know if you guys can notice it, but the executioner in the back here right by RL's guy.
[01:40:28] Yeah, you just like, I like the executioner.
[01:40:31] Just like the Danny Divido's got to be in that slap I'd be costume.
[01:40:36] The slap he looked like they knitted out of cake for real.
[01:40:40] He looks big.
[01:40:43] But the RL's guy looks great, that looks really real.
[01:40:46] I know it's like such a realistic costume.
[01:40:48] I don't know how they did that.
[01:40:50] That actually looks like you at 50, bro.
[01:40:53] It's a little glitch.
[01:40:54] You can't see it fully, but like you don't know what I mean?
[01:40:58] Yeah.
[01:40:58] That's like the one live action tunnels we've ever gotten.
[01:41:02] Yeah.
[01:41:04] Yeah.
[01:41:04] It looks like he's got like grass in his mouth.
[01:41:08] One thing I'll say is that the slap you can't see it here, but the slap he had actually
[01:41:13] like has moving eyebrows in mouth.
[01:41:15] So like a guy who like talk, which was interesting.
[01:41:22] Yeah.
[01:41:22] Like when Disney was trying to make these bumps look like the old stuff.
[01:41:27] Like when Disney was trying to actually make these bumps, you know, like the original stuff.
[01:41:32] Yeah.
[01:41:35] Next up we have what we talked about recently in another episode of the podcast.
[01:41:41] From goosebumps alive and the Ministry of masks.
[01:41:45] Goose bumps alive versions of both the haunted mask, slapy and the scare crows.
[01:41:51] Those pumpkin hits are actually the scare crows and not attack the jack liners.
[01:41:56] I like these.
[01:41:57] I love the really like grotesque nightmareish designs of these masks.
[01:42:03] Personally.
[01:42:05] I just see Chuckie.
[01:42:08] Yeah.
[01:42:09] Yeah.
[01:42:09] They're cool.
[01:42:10] They're cool concepts though.
[01:42:12] Well, definitely the scare crows I like with the different kinds of pumpkins.
[01:42:16] You can see that one is just like completely rotting.
[01:42:19] And like some of it's not even orange.
[01:42:21] It's so rotten.
[01:42:22] Like I think those work really well.
[01:42:25] But if you guys haven't seen our interview with Samuel Lyer on Goose bumps alive,
[01:42:28] by the way episode number 37 go check it out.
[01:42:30] It is a great interview.
[01:42:32] We found out a lot of info we didn't know before.
[01:42:35] So check that one out.
[01:42:37] The slabs look like that toy monkey that hits the symbols together.
[01:42:40] Yeah, just like the first of the goosebumps.
[01:42:44] Next up we have the first of the Goose bumps merchandise for masking costumes.
[01:42:51] So first up we're starting off with the Goose bumps in 90's costumes.
[01:42:56] We have cuddles curly the mud monster slappy, Prince Coru and the horror.
[01:43:02] You know I gotta say I had wow this brings me back because I totally forgot
[01:43:11] I had this but I don't remember how old I was probably six or seven but I had that mummy
[01:43:18] 100%.
[01:43:19] I personally like the mud monster the best.
[01:43:24] I think that might be my personal favorite.
[01:43:27] I think it's got the cool oversized heads so it fits under shoulders.
[01:43:30] So it makes it look kind of like you have this huge glob on your head.
[01:43:34] Yeah, it's like very baggy.
[01:43:36] It almost looks like.
[01:43:38] I mean it's those typical old children's costumes.
[01:43:41] You know, it's almost like a big onesie.
[01:43:44] Yes.
[01:43:45] Oh I have all these except for the mud monster.
[01:43:49] And I do look like that slappy from the other side.
[01:43:51] We just saw live show when I put that costume on.
[01:43:54] So that's the one.
[01:43:57] That's ironic.
[01:43:58] Yeah, that's ironic.
[01:44:00] But then we also had some final masks that you were actually talking about.
[01:44:04] I'm pretty sure if these are the ones you were talking about Nick.
[01:44:08] These three.
[01:44:10] So we have curly the horror and the haunted mask which that one took inspiration from the TV show.
[01:44:17] I think these are pretty nice.
[01:44:19] I like these for a while.
[01:44:20] I mean, before tots like these were the full of or goose bumps masks that you had.
[01:44:25] I think the horror is done really well.
[01:44:27] Yeah.
[01:44:28] Mm-hmm.
[01:44:28] I think they're not really on the tape.
[01:44:30] They're trying to put on because of the way they formed it.
[01:44:34] It's like a cut off sloped mask which is really odd.
[01:44:39] And way it sets especially if you got multiple chins like I do.
[01:44:43] It doesn't really go on there.
[01:44:44] Well, I had a hard time with the horror.
[01:44:48] Listen to be fair.
[01:44:49] These were made for children.
[01:44:51] That is true.
[01:44:52] I was not within this came out.
[01:44:55] The demons that came around and made these for adults.
[01:44:58] So I will say the one thing I've always one of my favorite characters was I was curly.
[01:45:04] And I really wish they would have made him more of less than a promotional and put him more.
[01:45:09] Or even is like a host.
[01:45:10] You know, like the creeper.
[01:45:12] Yeah.
[01:45:12] So it would have been really cool if they used curly as a host for some of those.
[01:45:18] Yeah, how was the NRL style?
[01:45:22] The introductions to the episodes.
[01:45:25] Oh, that would have been cool guys.
[01:45:28] Yeah.
[01:45:29] He could have done like the short episode.
[01:45:34] So like I was dying to obviously two parties like 40 minutes.
[01:45:37] But it could have used curly for like 20 minute runtime once.
[01:45:40] Yeah.
[01:45:42] That would be cool.
[01:45:43] That would correct me.
[01:45:44] I think I watched the haunted mask.
[01:45:46] He'd be like, was that scary guys?
[01:45:48] Like I mean, yeah, I guess.
[01:45:50] Yeah.
[01:45:50] It's not a scary anymore.
[01:45:52] Or when a tear tower, when he's like, how do you get out of here?
[01:45:57] Somebody let me out.
[01:45:58] Let me out of here.
[01:45:59] Let me out.
[01:46:00] Yeah.
[01:46:01] Yeah.
[01:46:02] It's like I'm an awkward actor.
[01:46:04] I love to reach out.
[01:46:06] Next up we have these voice changing masks.
[01:46:10] Yeah.
[01:46:11] I actually have it's on my top of my shelf.
[01:46:15] Yeah.
[01:46:15] The curly and the haunted mask, and you could change your voice with these masks.
[01:46:20] Yeah.
[01:46:22] I actually like how the haunted mask one looks like.
[01:46:25] I don't know how it sounds.
[01:46:27] Yeah.
[01:46:27] It goes in the dark.
[01:46:29] And it goes in the dark.
[01:46:30] The haunted mask one looks a lot like the book.
[01:46:33] Never had these.
[01:46:34] Those are cool.
[01:46:35] Yeah.
[01:46:35] That's the one curly product where I told they made it look kind of.
[01:46:40] Yeah.
[01:46:41] Like he's a bit of a nerd.
[01:46:42] Somehow.
[01:46:43] Yeah.
[01:46:44] He doesn't look like the one.
[01:46:46] I just think of the one.
[01:46:46] Why are you looking here?
[01:46:47] I'm surprised.
[01:46:49] We just appreciate how much cooler the packaging makes a goosebumps product.
[01:46:54] Oh, big ass.
[01:46:55] I mean, yeah.
[01:46:56] The drag difference between the haunted mask and the middle and the haunted mask on the right is crazy.
[01:47:01] I think it's like that's the thing too.
[01:47:04] It's like it truly came out of thinking in the perfect time at the 90s right?
[01:47:08] Everything was kind of me on it.
[01:47:10] Shim blue, full and teal and these greens and it's.
[01:47:15] Yeah.
[01:47:16] It's still like it was how you knew it with the goosebumps product.
[01:47:21] Yeah.
[01:47:22] Because they put that color scheme on everything.
[01:47:25] So I mean, the the packaging for everything in the 90s was fantastic.
[01:47:30] That's one thing I really was hoping to see out of trickery series actually when
[01:47:35] they're on the packaging that they would at least try to throw it back, not exactly copy maybe.
[01:47:41] But at least try to throw it back to the 90 stuff.
[01:47:44] And so far with everything I haven't seen that.
[01:47:47] It's like they try to do their own original take on everything which is fine.
[01:47:51] You know, they're company.
[01:47:52] They got to do what they got to do.
[01:47:54] But with nostalgia being what it is and how great this packaging looked back in the 90s.
[01:48:01] I think it's a damn shame and a missed opportunity not to try to replicate that.
[01:48:05] Yeah, totally agree.
[01:48:07] Next up we have I don't know if you guys know about these but when Peter did a tie in with goosebumps the escape from harrowing game, they made these hollow masks.
[01:48:19] Yep.
[01:48:20] Or of them.
[01:48:22] The mummy currently has.
[01:48:26] But that's cool because it seems like three days goosebumps.
[01:48:29] Like those are like been Cooper masks from the 60s.
[01:48:32] Yeah, so hard to get man like those are so hard to get because they're so fragile.
[01:48:38] Like that break I've got a full set and man like just trying to get all formal and not be like, you know, bands increased on my day.
[01:48:48] The amount of sweat that those accumulated as well as the kid was just really not hard plastic.
[01:48:55] Right.
[01:48:55] And they write in and like a pool.
[01:48:57] That's what came out on Halloween night.
[01:48:59] Let's work out.
[01:49:02] I remember those those are around the mud monsters super cool.
[01:49:06] Yeah, I think one's give a shout out to Pete to have by the way not a sponsor just saying you spilled a dime and actually enjoy your food pretty cool, you know.
[01:49:14] You have missed the old kids.
[01:49:15] I'm a great back face.
[01:49:16] Guys please bring it back back to message you start.
[01:49:21] Next up we're jumping up like about a decade to the mid to late 2000s with these goosebumps mask and costumes.
[01:49:30] So you had a slapy costume you had a vinyl haunted mask and then you had the slapy mask that came with the costume but you could also get the mask itself.
[01:49:41] I never appreciated this haunted mask.
[01:49:44] I feel like it made it look like an alien.
[01:49:47] Mm-hmm.
[01:49:47] Yeah, I mean at the time though, it was the closest you had to have a little never found her.
[01:49:51] Yeah, there's really one person I know who has that mask.
[01:49:55] And he will not let it go.
[01:49:56] I cannot find this mask with the life of me.
[01:50:01] So it sucks because I would absolutely love to have that for my collection.
[01:50:07] On the phone, that one.
[01:50:08] Yeah, I don't start to go on, but it's starting.
[01:50:11] Yeah, I can find slapy one all day long.
[01:50:13] And like I see them so all the time.
[01:50:14] I don't know if they just like made limited run of that haunted mask one and a lot more of slapy.
[01:50:20] I really don't know, but I personally like to look at that haunted mask.
[01:50:24] And at the time, it was the closest to the book that we got.
[01:50:29] Yeah.
[01:50:29] Oh yeah, like, how do you get one?
[01:50:32] Do you try Google and search or something?
[01:50:34] Maybe they'll be some of my own websites.
[01:50:36] I just found one.
[01:50:39] The Google search only brings up the picture of the guy I know that has it.
[01:50:46] Okay.
[01:50:48] Wait Nick, can you tell me a bit about it?
[01:50:54] Well, it's better than the thoughts vacuum form contest.
[01:50:58] Mm hmm.
[01:51:00] Yeah, yeah, the vacuum form mask.
[01:51:02] Yeah, I do think so.
[01:51:03] And I am trying to find that slapy costume.
[01:51:08] Uh, I'm not sure what finding one.
[01:51:11] So is that mask?
[01:51:12] Is it a like a plastic or is it a like, what is it made of?
[01:51:18] No, sort of that mask.
[01:51:20] Yeah.
[01:51:22] Yeah.
[01:51:22] So that mask is vinyl made by disguising.
[01:51:27] And this slapping mask, you know, it looks really good in this picture, but I'm going to show you
[01:51:32] This picture because that's what it actually looked like.
[01:51:35] That's a bad thing.
[01:51:37] Oh, no.
[01:51:38] What the hell?
[01:51:40] Oh, you'll say it.
[01:51:41] Yeah.
[01:51:42] Look at that.
[01:51:42] Look at that.
[01:51:43] Look at that.
[01:51:45] That's insane.
[01:51:47] Yeah.
[01:51:48] Yeah.
[01:51:48] That's another cake.
[01:51:49] So somebody's grandma just tried to make a slapy cake.
[01:51:53] Ha ha ha ha ha.
[01:51:54] Oh, it's a real shame.
[01:51:56] Okay.
[01:51:56] So I can at least say the haunted mask one.
[01:51:59] I have pictures of from that guy that he hasn't.
[01:52:02] He sent me pictures.
[01:52:03] It does look like that photo.
[01:52:04] However, this is entirely accurate because this is exactly what I see on my
[01:52:09] Sir purchase.
[01:52:10] Why the eyes.
[01:52:12] Why is his eyes written?
[01:52:14] Yeah.
[01:52:14] I don't know.
[01:52:15] No.
[01:52:16] Again, why is he had this?
[01:52:20] He's not the same mask at all.
[01:52:22] It's not the same skull.
[01:52:24] It's literally not look at the definition on the nose in the catalog picture.
[01:52:28] And then look at that.
[01:52:30] And then we'll get to different masks.
[01:52:32] Oh, gee.
[01:52:34] It's like it's got like it's like here's the it's like it's like hot toys.
[01:52:38] If anybody out there knows hot toys, it's like here's a prototype and it looks fantastic.
[01:52:42] Everybody free orders and loves it.
[01:52:44] Then the final product photos come out and it doesn't look.
[01:52:47] Half is good as the prototype did.
[01:52:50] And two light suckers, you already gave it your money.
[01:52:53] Not only that.
[01:52:54] It's like when you order something off like I don't but like when you order a switch.
[01:52:59] Wish.com and be like, oh, this is great.
[01:53:02] He moved.
[01:53:03] He's cataloged.
[01:53:04] Like, he's a sock.
[01:53:08] Did you see that was a guy that bought a fishing rod off team.
[01:53:12] He called $2 or something and he got it and he's like a professional fish and then he's like, let's just see if this actually works.
[01:53:19] And he actually really didn't end some fish with it.
[01:53:21] And he was like, holy shit.
[01:53:23] This is like $2 is perfect for like a kid starting fishing rod.
[01:53:27] And he was literally really going to fish with me.
[01:53:29] Spent $2 on team.
[01:53:32] Wow.
[01:53:33] I like it.
[01:53:34] I can hear.
[01:53:35] And now.
[01:53:36] All right.
[01:53:37] Moving on to trick or treat studios.
[01:53:39] And this was the first line of their goosebumps collection that was first introduced in 2018.
[01:53:46] And then was added to in 2018.
[01:53:52] So you started off with the slappy and haunted mask.
[01:53:56] TV show versions and then you had the vacuum form,
[01:54:00] Slappy and Hauna mask, which were based on the books.
[01:54:03] And then in 2018 they added the old man mask and the pumpkin head from attack in the Jackalannons.
[01:54:09] I think these masks did their job.
[01:54:12] I think they're really one for one with the TV shows.
[01:54:16] I know you guys said you're not to impress with the slappy one.
[01:54:21] I mean, it looks like slatpy.
[01:54:23] Yeah, I just don't think that it exists.
[01:54:25] Yeah.
[01:54:26] Yeah.
[01:54:27] I mean.
[01:54:30] So I don't know.
[01:54:31] Like it has characteristics of Slappy but the problem is they based it off of their static prop rather than the actual TV show look.
[01:54:40] Yeah.
[01:54:41] And that was the problem came in.
[01:54:44] Because if I remember right, they're slappy.
[01:54:46] They were able to take from scary closet.
[01:54:51] Yep.
[01:54:52] And that's their design and I don't think it's scary.
[01:54:56] Scary shit closet.
[01:54:58] Right down to like, yeah, I just take the facts.
[01:55:00] Like the eyes are painted green and like,
[01:55:03] I think I thought weird like evil look to them and they shouldn't.
[01:55:08] Right.
[01:55:09] That's a scary closet thing and I never understood why they would base their paint master off of that.
[01:55:15] Yeah, I don't know.
[01:55:16] That's why it's going to be a little too awkward.
[01:55:19] Like it.
[01:55:20] Most people just want to slap you.
[01:55:23] They invite us.
[01:55:24] But even the same people together.
[01:55:26] The vacuum masks tried to capture the original book though with what we're going to see coming up.
[01:55:35] They're latest endeavors.
[01:55:37] I think do a much better job of capturing the books look.
[01:55:42] But what do you guys think of the vacuum forms for slapping in the haunted masks?
[01:55:46] Do you think those were pretty decent for what they were?
[01:55:52] Yeah, I don't have any plans about those.
[01:55:54] Yeah, they were all for the process.
[01:55:56] We talked about the concept plan.
[01:55:59] They did their job.
[01:56:00] Yeah, they did with the orphanage to do.
[01:56:01] They were just vacuum form there.
[01:56:02] They're good.
[01:56:04] Well, I haunted mask would be the only two.
[01:56:08] I would say really could have been worked on.
[01:56:12] I know originally who did it was a hand production to does work for tots.
[01:56:17] That's why he has this sculpt that they used.
[01:56:21] But when you compare them to actually the the show version.
[01:56:24] I mean, they're not completely accurate.
[01:56:28] There are a lot of differences.
[01:56:29] Actually dive into what they look like the angles and the scent of the other.
[01:56:36] Like my haunted mask in my case is probably the closest you'll get, but you're also paying a custom mask maker to make that.
[01:56:43] So I mean, $60 what you see there compared to hundreds of dollars back here.
[01:56:49] I mean, you can't really complain.
[01:56:51] It's a good mask.
[01:56:52] It's a good sculpt.
[01:56:53] But moving on to their latest endeavors over at Trigger Treat Studios.
[01:56:57] We have their currently still still in their pre order stage.
[01:57:03] Collecting them comes masks now these ones must be accurate.
[01:57:10] So I think that must.
[01:57:13] Yeah, yeah, these are absolutely incredible masks.
[01:57:19] They're vinyl mask too so they're going to last much longer.
[01:57:22] They look exactly like the Tim Jekobas are.
[01:57:24] I mean, you can tell they really did all that they could to like make these look like the original books.
[01:57:32] And I'm super stoked to get mine.
[01:57:35] Has the potential to be the best official release in a long long time.
[01:57:40] Yeah, that I mean, those are pretty dope.
[01:57:42] Yeah, even the month like as simple as the release it's so scary.
[01:57:48] Yeah, I love the money and that's what the fact that they put the Gs play on the back like the 90s mask.
[01:57:53] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:57:55] Yeah, I agree.
[01:57:56] That slapy is the best mask representation of the book cover slapy that I've seen.
[01:58:02] And it's yeah.
[01:58:03] Yeah, it's all.
[01:58:05] I think of the choice was done with the same like look and everything.
[01:58:10] I think you could just.
[01:58:12] Yeah, yeah, well, the darkness around the eyes like everything like they really went into the detail of.
[01:58:20] Like making it.
[01:58:21] I will say, Kerala looks a little.
[01:58:25] A little cartoonish, I guess.
[01:58:28] You can't put braels on a skull.
[01:58:30] That's I guess that's what I mean, yeah, he looks like like back you man, you know, like.
[01:58:36] But it's Arnold's.
[01:58:40] It's Arnold's Arnold's.
[01:58:43] Yeah, it's Arnold's.
[01:58:43] Yeah, it's Arnold's.
[01:58:45] Oh, yeah, it's.
[01:58:46] Now we're going to look at some slapy costumes now.
[01:58:50] We've looked at, you know, trigger two studios and some official releases from the 90s, which
[01:58:55] While not perfect, a lot of them looked a lot like what they were going for.
[01:58:59] But we're here.
[01:59:00] We're going to take a look at some a little bit third party versions of slapy.
[01:59:05] Oh, let's take a look here.
[01:59:08] Oh, boy.
[01:59:09] Oh, no.
[01:59:10] Wait, the one on the far right is actually.
[01:59:14] The eyes are terrible.
[01:59:16] Why do we gotta go to you, though?
[01:59:19] So, the practice.
[01:59:21] Well, like, we could have a look at the shape of the head and everything is very accurate, but just the eyes of
[01:59:28] the.
[01:59:28] It wasn't supposed to be slapy.
[01:59:30] I would say that's like a pretty creepy mask.
[01:59:35] Yeah.
[01:59:36] Yeah.
[01:59:36] Yeah.
[01:59:36] Yeah.
[01:59:36] Yeah.
[01:59:37] And the one on the far left.
[01:59:41] I actually have that was a spirit Halloween exclusive.
[01:59:44] I think it's a great idea of tying in with the goosebumps movie.
[01:59:46] So it came with a suit and the face mask.
[01:59:53] So middle one looks terrible.
[01:59:55] Yeah, that middle one is bad.
[01:59:59] That's a very divergent slapy.
[02:00:01] Yeah.
[02:00:02] We can different slapy.
[02:00:06] Moving on here.
[02:00:07] It plays.
[02:00:09] What the hell put it on here?
[02:00:13] Oh, yeah.
[02:00:15] That's so right there on the top right to start off.
[02:00:20] I mean, look at how small his face looks.
[02:00:24] Is that the worst one?
[02:00:25] Can we say that's the worst one?
[02:00:27] Either that is the bottom right.
[02:00:31] I feel like we're watching P. We Herman now.
[02:00:35] Yeah.
[02:00:36] Mr. Bean.
[02:00:37] Yeah.
[02:00:38] Mr. Bean.
[02:00:39] The one on the bottom left is actually an upcoming release.
[02:00:43] From Halloween costumes.com and apparently has glow in the dark eyes and
[02:00:49] In movable mouth, but it looks so uncanny valley.
[02:00:53] Do you have a picture?
[02:00:54] I don't have any other pictures besides that one.
[02:00:57] If you want to go see the pictures, you can actually go look it up on Halloween
[02:01:00] costumes.com or check out my post over on the goosebumps crew.
[02:01:06] Instagram page.
[02:01:08] Yeah.
[02:01:09] It's creepy disturbing.
[02:01:13] Well, I will say I asked a tots about glowing eyes on their sloppy and I feel
[02:01:18] that was a missed opportunity.
[02:01:19] They said they're not doing that.
[02:01:21] I was like, yeah, you know, put the glow feature on sloppy's eyes and
[02:01:24] that was like that would have been awesome.
[02:01:27] Yeah.
[02:01:27] Okay. Wait.
[02:01:28] The drastic difference between how the mask looks when it's like not with
[02:01:33] the mouth open and with the mouth open is crazy.
[02:01:37] Yeah.
[02:01:37] The one that's like fully open like this is pure nightmare.
[02:01:41] Yeah.
[02:01:41] It was like somebody looked at the night of the living dummy three suit costume and
[02:01:48] that's like air got to do that.
[02:01:49] We got to do that.
[02:01:53] So I will say the murder clown looks identical to the one in the 2015 movie.
[02:02:01] Yeah.
[02:02:02] I mean, other than the fact that it's not true yet.
[02:02:04] But, um, it looks Jackalander too.
[02:02:09] Yeah.
[02:02:09] Yeah.
[02:02:11] Yeah.
[02:02:12] Yeah.
[02:02:12] You can't all be winners.
[02:02:14] But now we're going to in our home stretch, we are going to actually take a look at some of the
[02:02:20] costumes that were submitted to us and also that I've found through searching online.
[02:02:26] So these are costumes that people wore.
[02:02:29] Some of them are actually custom made and are pretty interesting to look at.
[02:02:33] But before we get into, you know, other people's I think it's only fair to take a look at what we the goosebumps crew of Warren for Halloween masks and costumes.
[02:02:44] Starting with me, you guys remember that a sloppy costume with the drastically different, you know, mask compared to the store one.
[02:02:52] I wore that.
[02:02:54] Yeah.
[02:02:56] That's a little, uh, that's a little 10 year old me where a sloppy costume.
[02:03:01] Oh, man.
[02:03:02] That's a lot.
[02:03:04] It's like, slightly better when it's not actually most convenient.
[02:03:09] Uh, the funny story, there was many people on Halloween that year that were saying I looked like and they were like, are you supposed to be pee we Herman?
[02:03:17] No, I'm sloppy from goose bumps.
[02:03:21] I love how the mask is so big on your face that your chin is like showing.
[02:03:26] Yeah.
[02:03:27] Oh, man.
[02:03:30] My head is my head was so small, but I loved this costume.
[02:03:34] I wore it like I was when I was getting here to the bumps for the first time.
[02:03:38] So I was like obsessed and when I got this costume, I was so happy.
[02:03:43] I would like wear it around the house.
[02:03:44] I loved it so much.
[02:03:46] I'm pretty sure my parents got rid of it because they were so sick of it.
[02:03:49] I've resented them.
[02:03:50] You did have that costume.
[02:03:53] Yeah.
[02:03:54] They admitted to me.
[02:03:55] They were like, I think we hit it for you because we were sick of it, but they told me they regret it.
[02:03:59] Uh, but whatever.
[02:04:02] Um, my teacher in 2018 wearing that this costume that I just showed off, uh, that's me with the full thing and I even made a night of the living dummy manuscript that you can tell it's very crude.
[02:04:16] We put together.
[02:04:18] But yeah, that one was got to, yeah, got to get it.
[02:04:22] I would be actually on you.
[02:04:24] Yeah.
[02:04:25] It's not bad.
[02:04:26] Yeah, it looks pretty okay.
[02:04:27] You can see kind of a tough of my hair at the top there.
[02:04:30] I don't know if you can see that.
[02:04:33] This is a hit that.
[02:04:34] Alright, this is a lot of these man bun.
[02:04:36] Yeah, what a slab of man bun.
[02:04:39] Alright, Nick, you're not next.
[02:04:41] Don't get it.
[02:04:41] Wait, don't get it.
[02:04:42] You're not going to do that.
[02:04:43] I'm going to say no.
[02:04:45] I got them or the big stuff.
[02:04:46] This is Bjorn.
[02:04:48] We just have some like Bjorn.
[02:04:49] It's crazy.
[02:04:50] So Bjorn, you went as slappy for Halloween one year.
[02:04:55] And then on the right, the right was the one that I got stopped so many times to take a fight
[02:05:00] because I was like, I can't believe you did that.
[02:05:03] You're like, I'm coughed through my vever scene.
[02:05:06] Yeah, it's pretty cool.
[02:05:08] Yeah, because I was like, I got one of my best fun books that was completely falling apart.
[02:05:12] Like it couldn't be safe.
[02:05:14] So I like took the pages out and I stuck it on the,
[02:05:16] so I tried to do like the intro and then I even added like the G.
[02:05:20] So kind of like the pages on Wolf.
[02:05:22] I tried to do.
[02:05:25] Where did you find the letters for the RL style?
[02:05:28] That's pretty sick.
[02:05:29] That's a good job.
[02:05:31] Oh, so yeah, they're just pages from a piece of the book.
[02:05:35] Oh, no, there's like a RL style like the letter.
[02:05:37] Oh, the lettering lettering lettering lettering that.
[02:05:40] All of them, all of them, you know, the actual recalence.
[02:05:42] Oh, I, I had to get those like maybe custom somehow to like actually like custom put them on the case.
[02:05:51] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[02:05:53] Yeah, that one I stopped for a hell of a lot.
[02:05:56] It was that all those comic coms just like straddling comic com and yeah, like someone.
[02:06:02] So one of the guys I was with that he was playing with the goosebumps theme like off the
[02:06:06] on his phone while I was walking with.
[02:06:08] So like people just for like, oh my god, like that's got the music playing and everything.
[02:06:14] Like, well, that's pretty nice.
[02:06:18] I enjoyed that.
[02:06:19] That was definitely the best cosplay.
[02:06:21] But then I just did sloppy one year because my niece we went to see world in Australia.
[02:06:26] She was like, go sloppy.
[02:06:27] So I was like, all right, so I just, I mean sloppy costumes easy, but I didn't want to wear a mask.
[02:06:32] And like, no, I'm just going to, I'm just going to go with me and draw the mouth on whatever.
[02:06:37] You still have the whole outfit for the intro thing.
[02:06:42] Oh yeah, I'm still going to go with that need to be on my side.
[02:06:46] Like in a career.
[02:06:47] Yes, cool.
[02:06:48] Yeah, that would be awesome.
[02:06:52] But I just had to add sloppy with me just to really, you know, just in case the other person doesn't know what it is.
[02:06:57] I thought if I have sloppy, I have to know.
[02:07:00] Yeah, you know, the golden retriever and walk it around with you too.
[02:07:03] I don't know what the eyes, but the eyes.
[02:07:08] I should all right.
[02:07:10] Next up we got, I mean, these, these are awesome.
[02:07:13] I remember when you posted the, your cosplay as RL Stein and that was just like, it blew me the hell away.
[02:07:19] I had to encuited it here absolutely.
[02:07:22] So that was perfect.
[02:07:24] And then Nick, we got you.
[02:07:26] Now, I remember when I met you, we were at Wisconsin,
[02:07:30] and the me are also finding you were fully dressed as a,
[02:07:35] a carway bath in the Haunted mask.
[02:07:37] I remember that.
[02:07:40] So well, I mean, I didn't see you when I was in full costume.
[02:07:44] How hot was that costume by the way?
[02:07:47] Not really.
[02:07:48] Really?
[02:07:49] That's good.
[02:07:52] I mean, that's probably the most comfortable cosplay I've ever done.
[02:07:56] And honestly, like, I'm sorry, it's been wearing masks for a long periods of time.
[02:08:00] I, it doesn't even, I guess, bother many more.
[02:08:04] Yeah.
[02:08:07] All right.
[02:08:07] Now it's time to take a look at what I took the mask off.
[02:08:09] Yeah, like sweat would probably just pour out of that thing.
[02:08:12] You know, so I got to, well, I remember when I wore it.
[02:08:16] I remember what I did.
[02:08:17] I remember what I did.
[02:08:17] Yeah.
[02:08:17] The top Haunted Mask for Halloween one year, but it, number one, it was tight.
[02:08:23] Like it is, it is like legitimately tight on your face.
[02:08:26] So it just got like really claustrophobic underneath, which I guess is the point.
[02:08:33] But yeah.
[02:08:34] But it would like traps sweat so easily.
[02:08:37] And when you're walking around, like that is absolute hell.
[02:08:40] So I couldn't even do it.
[02:08:42] So yeah, it was bad.
[02:08:45] But now it's time to take a look at some,
[02:08:48] use or submitted ones.
[02:08:50] And then as I said, I also found a few searching through Google.
[02:08:54] All credits are down below.
[02:08:55] So you guys can go check out whoever, you know,
[02:08:59] submitted the photo.
[02:09:00] But let's start off with this lovely color.
[02:09:03] And I'm like right here.
[02:09:05] Oh, man.
[02:09:06] I was looking forward to seeing it in Tyler and AJ's photo.
[02:09:09] Never already, but I'm strong.
[02:09:11] Yeah, I've got some other cosplay of a nag nag who's bumped yet.
[02:09:15] Now I'm tempted though.
[02:09:17] But here we have a Haunted Mask one and two couples cosplay.
[02:09:21] So we have Carly Beth from the first one
[02:09:23] and then the shopkeeper from the second one.
[02:09:26] I like the shopkeeper.
[02:09:27] I think that's pretty dope.
[02:09:30] Well, it's just a great couple's cosplay.
[02:09:32] It's just both versions from both episodes.
[02:09:35] I think that's really cute right there.
[02:09:38] All right.
[02:09:38] Next up we got a doctor, Baru.
[02:09:40] Oh, yeah.
[02:09:41] That's cool.
[02:09:42] That's really cool.
[02:09:44] And then we'll stay in the.
[02:09:45] Yeah, that's such a simple idea to.
[02:09:47] Mm-hmm.
[02:09:48] Yeah, it's like very face like you know, we're actually.
[02:09:51] What it is yet.
[02:09:53] Yeah.
[02:09:54] I wonder if he had the leaves on his head too, so if you like her group.
[02:09:57] He's like, yeah, got the leaves.
[02:09:59] That's so cool.
[02:10:01] All right.
[02:10:01] We got another Haunted Mask.
[02:10:02] We're going to have a few Haunted masks on here,
[02:10:04] but I love this photo because of the lighting.
[02:10:07] This is a really nice one.
[02:10:09] Mm-hmm.
[02:10:10] That's a big film guys.
[02:10:11] Yeah.
[02:10:12] Next up we got goosebumps for dummies.
[02:10:15] Slappy, Holonging costume.
[02:10:16] I believe he said he took this a few years ago.
[02:10:19] It was very makeshift.
[02:10:21] It looks nice.
[02:10:23] Next up, another Haunted Mask.
[02:10:25] Oh, there's not a mask here up in the.
[02:10:27] Yeah, this is the guy I was talking about.
[02:10:31] Mm-hmm.
[02:10:31] I'm not mistaken.
[02:10:32] I'm not mistaken.
[02:10:33] This is also the same guy who did a complete overhaul of the slappy like dummy.
[02:10:39] Like the one with the pole string month and he made it like a full on book accurate
[02:10:43] slappy that's actually even trodoku's dummy.
[02:10:46] I'm pretty sure that it's the same guy.
[02:10:48] If it isn't correct me from wrong, but he has a great video over on his Twitter
[02:10:54] go check it out.
[02:10:56] But I really like the goosebumps pumpkin here.
[02:11:01] That he's carrying.
[02:11:03] Next up.
[02:11:04] You can have been Trilokwiss dummies.
[02:11:06] What are your guys' thoughts on the dummies that I know you got on behind you?
[02:11:11] I've got one up here.
[02:11:12] But the ones where they actually took the insides and made the sloppy movable like his eyebrows and stuff.
[02:11:20] I like them.
[02:11:20] I just wish they didn't go for the realistic hair.
[02:11:25] But I really liked them.
[02:11:26] Yeah.
[02:11:26] I remember when I got one down with the realistic hair.
[02:11:31] I was like, this is the whole thing.
[02:11:32] It's straight up has like some Eugene levy eyebrows and right up like Donald Trump
[02:11:38] like hair going on.
[02:11:40] It's freaking weird.
[02:11:43] So here we have the Haunted Mask and Chee Hulk.
[02:11:48] I mean, I can't tell you.
[02:11:50] Which is wish.
[02:11:53] I don't know.
[02:11:54] You should have labels on these.
[02:11:57] I can't tell.
[02:11:57] Which I don't know if that mask is like the 90s mask.
[02:12:01] I don't know.
[02:12:02] I can't really tell.
[02:12:03] It is nice.
[02:12:05] It is.
[02:12:07] The 90s.
[02:12:08] All right.
[02:12:09] There it is.
[02:12:13] So there we got.
[02:12:14] Yeah, I mean, we're talking about.
[02:12:17] She admitted that it's not really a costume but she really like Toshitra's upper slappy here.
[02:12:22] I really like the the goose bumps tucks.
[02:12:26] That the slappy has here and the little top hat.
[02:12:28] Oh yeah.
[02:12:30] I like.
[02:12:32] Yeah, there was like three versions.
[02:12:33] There was like the regular one with the fake hair.
[02:12:36] And then there was the next step, which is this one that had the regular eyebrows.
[02:12:41] But real hair and you had the pull on side.
[02:12:44] And then the third one was the one where as eyebrows were super bush.
[02:12:47] She didn't like you can move everything.
[02:12:49] Yeah.
[02:12:49] You got the Eugene Ledi.
[02:12:51] Early army eyebrows.
[02:12:54] And stuff and nightmares.
[02:12:56] All right.
[02:12:57] Next up we got a slappy and on a mask combo.
[02:13:02] It's the one.
[02:13:04] It's the killer mask.
[02:13:07] And then we have makeup of slappy and the haunted mask.
[02:13:12] That's pretty cool.
[02:13:13] It was really cool.
[02:13:15] I mean, we just didn't know those alike that you like.
[02:13:18] Well, curly's missing but like the three masks got some goosebumps.
[02:13:22] I'll tell you, slightly in the haunted mom.
[02:13:25] Like they have they are the definitive masks right.
[02:13:28] Those three.
[02:13:30] Three.
[02:13:30] Three.
[02:13:31] All right.
[02:13:33] All right. Here we have another shop keeper, haunted mask.
[02:13:36] This one looks really nice. I love the hood on it.
[02:13:38] Pretty cool.
[02:13:39] Yeah. That's cool.
[02:13:41] I love the shock keeper design.
[02:13:43] You know, I just love the suit with the mask.
[02:13:45] Just as you do.
[02:13:46] Yeah.
[02:13:46] We have another slappy.
[02:13:48] I actually prefer.
[02:13:50] Lump makeup approach than the mask approach unless the mask looks really good.
[02:13:55] Like the like the new top one.
[02:13:58] But I actually really like the makeup approach.
[02:14:00] I'm going to slap you.
[02:14:01] I have a new shop. I'm going to look so sick.
[02:14:03] Like when people do cosplays to go.
[02:14:07] All right. Here we have a little boy in this slappy costume and his slappy.
[02:14:13] Oh, that's cute.
[02:14:14] I like that.
[02:14:15] He's missing his shoes.
[02:14:17] You know, we have another one.
[02:14:21] Oh, here's probably my favorite.
[02:14:24] Yeah.
[02:14:24] I was going to go on a mask.
[02:14:26] Someone looks like a Sith haunted mask.
[02:14:29] The photo.
[02:14:30] I'm going to look like a Sith haunted.
[02:14:31] I'm going to look like a Sith haunted.
[02:14:32] Definitely makes the mask look like a headball on its chin.
[02:14:36] Like it has Peter.
[02:14:38] Peter.
[02:14:41] That's you.
[02:14:42] I mean, these are my favorite shopkeeper so far but
[02:14:47] I'll try it.
[02:14:49] All right.
[02:14:50] This one I found over on Deviant Art.
[02:14:52] It's a whole group of all of these bumps cosplays.
[02:14:56] Billy, bodies on the.
[02:14:58] I love that.
[02:14:59] Yeah.
[02:14:59] I'm the scarecrow and Prince Coru.
[02:15:02] That does it really neat.
[02:15:04] Pretty good.
[02:15:04] And I can't believe that you haven't done a camp jelly gem cosplay.
[02:15:09] Oh, that's that's this year.
[02:15:10] Hello, waiting for sure.
[02:15:11] Well, I think we said one week in at Harley that we're going to dress up and I said I'd go as
[02:15:16] body.
[02:15:17] I think I was as I say goes sloppy and the neck obviously will go.
[02:15:21] Going to the mouth.
[02:15:21] We just go with like our favorite.
[02:15:24] I think it really is.
[02:15:28] Yeah, 100%.
[02:15:29] I think I should go as body definitely.
[02:15:32] Now here we have a calling all creeps cosplay right here.
[02:15:37] Look at this.
[02:15:37] That's wild interest.
[02:15:39] That's all.
[02:15:41] I.
[02:15:41] I look like they took a Jurassic Park mask and painted it.
[02:15:45] That's a good idea.
[02:15:47] Yeah.
[02:15:47] I like the dinosaur masks or everywhere.
[02:15:49] Like at Walmart all around.
[02:15:52] And the green.
[02:15:53] It actually works.
[02:15:55] If you had that mask in that way with the action.
[02:15:57] Like the hoodie like the you know, like we see on the cover.
[02:16:01] Tins.
[02:16:01] That could work.
[02:16:02] So what.
[02:16:03] Yeah.
[02:16:04] Next up.
[02:16:05] Having another haunted mask.
[02:16:07] But this mask looks like it actually looks like the slimy skin version in the episode,
[02:16:14] which I think that's one of those silicone ones.
[02:16:16] I forget who makes them that they're really nice.
[02:16:18] And here we have a city guy costume.
[02:16:23] That's sick.
[02:16:24] I want that.
[02:16:26] Yeah.
[02:16:27] Like it's not it's not accurate, but.
[02:16:31] Say cheese and die had some of the coolest cover art and I've never seen somebody cosplay.
[02:16:34] So that's really, really cool.
[02:16:36] Yeah.
[02:16:36] That is like I think and outside the box right now.
[02:16:39] That might be the first time I've ever seen anybody cosplay say she's in die.
[02:16:43] So I mean, that's.
[02:16:45] That's kind of an early.
[02:16:46] Here's another one you might have not ever seen before.
[02:16:49] A curse of camp cold lake.
[02:16:50] Oh, oh, oh.
[02:16:55] That's like a what she sees versus what you see.
[02:17:03] All right.
[02:17:05] All right.
[02:17:05] All right.
[02:17:05] I love to act the jackalainers.
[02:17:10] This one is pretty solid.
[02:17:12] It's pretty solid.
[02:17:13] Someone looks like someone's made there on my.
[02:17:15] Yeah.
[02:17:16] That's a real pumpkin.
[02:17:17] Yeah.
[02:17:18] I'm looking for a real pumpkin.
[02:17:21] And they are.
[02:17:23] So you're going to look at the hands.
[02:17:24] I like that.
[02:17:26] The hands are cool.
[02:17:27] Like they can still see the sharpie on the island.
[02:17:31] All right.
[02:17:32] Don't tell anybody.
[02:17:35] Rewning the effect.
[02:17:37] Next up, we got another double attack of the jackalainers and the haunted mask.
[02:17:41] You can get to talk to Loske and the shadows.
[02:17:44] I'm going to put it in.
[02:17:47] All right.
[02:17:48] Next up, we got a three three costways at the same time.
[02:17:53] Two haunted masks and I'm happy.
[02:17:55] Look how good the haunted masks look next to that slappy.
[02:17:59] I just like they're doing these poses.
[02:18:02] And almost looks like a poster for like a sick.
[02:18:05] I mean, whatever.
[02:18:06] The boy band cover.
[02:18:08] Yeah, that's a CD cover.
[02:18:10] It's like the goosebumps.
[02:18:13] You could put like one of those parental advisers.
[02:18:15] You're running on the bottom.
[02:18:18] We're goosebumps.
[02:18:19] That's the cover of that baby TV.
[02:18:21] It is right.
[02:18:24] We're goosebumps.
[02:18:27] I'm alive.
[02:18:28] All right.
[02:18:29] We got a curse to the mummy's tomb cosplay.
[02:18:32] That's cool.
[02:18:34] That's cool.
[02:18:36] Look at this.
[02:18:37] Wow.
[02:18:39] This one.
[02:18:39] Great.
[02:18:40] Really cool.
[02:18:42] That one's great.
[02:18:44] I can definitely win my favorites.
[02:18:48] Ooh, look at that mask.
[02:18:49] I like the eyes on it.
[02:18:51] It looks almost like the Harlem horror.
[02:18:54] You're like glowing eyes.
[02:18:55] How do you like this one?
[02:18:57] But you hate the horror land horses because it looks like identical.
[02:19:00] Because it's a piece of the one for people.
[02:19:03] Like this is just a cosplay.
[02:19:07] There was no correlation between the two.
[02:19:09] I was telling you.
[02:19:12] Here we have a life-gened visible cosplay.
[02:19:16] It's cool.
[02:19:16] What do they do to make the head?
[02:19:19] It looks like they just hit it underneath and then put a little stand for the glasses and hat.
[02:19:26] Yeah, I'll say it's probably a wire.
[02:19:29] You could use like a coat hanger or something probably.
[02:19:33] To hold up the other stuff.
[02:19:35] All right.
[02:19:35] Here we have a custom made on a mask.
[02:19:38] Nice.
[02:19:40] And then I like this genre of costume with the goose bumps book cover in front.
[02:19:47] Yeah, that's cool.
[02:19:48] I found there was a few of these.
[02:19:50] And one last haunted mask.
[02:19:53] I really like the mask.
[02:19:55] The goose bumps nails.
[02:19:56] You can see right there.
[02:19:57] This slapping.
[02:19:58] The goose bumps G.
[02:20:00] Yeah.
[02:20:01] Good job.
[02:20:02] Well, we're going to stop it right there.
[02:20:07] There's tons of goose bumps, you know, massing costumes both official and non-official.
[02:20:13] But you know, we felt since it's the start of fall and you know, Halloween is just around the corner.
[02:20:19] You know, you kind of start thinking about what you want to be for Halloween and, you know, really look back on all the different practical effects that were done in the show.
[02:20:26] And see all the different blunders it took in bringing these characters both to the screen and to you guys to wear around town.
[02:20:35] And I think at this point in time, you know, we have a lot of people really trying to bring those characters to life as accurately as possible.
[02:20:45] So I can say as I'm pretty stoked for those thoughts masks.
[02:20:51] Yeah, I'm pretty static for what do you guys think is the worst mask my last question for the night. What was the worst mask among that whole bunch?
[02:21:01] There's really bad at slappies in there.
[02:21:04] Yeah, I would say one of the slappies for sure.
[02:21:07] Yeah.
[02:21:08] No, I think that P we Herman looking for them one that looks like that once lappy mass it looks like it belongs in a cartoon when we had the multiple ones up there was on the bottom right.
[02:21:21] It literally looked like it was out of like a Disney cartoon. It was freaking weird for the most slime mask.
[02:21:27] Yeah, I know it's when you're talking about I completely agree on that.
[02:21:31] So again, wonders it took the get here. But I think we're on the right track by this point.
[02:21:37] But that is going to do it for tonight.
