[00:37:07] the 90s i can assure you that it's even better uh now i mean take a look at the some of the stuff

[00:37:13] that tim jacobus has been putting out uh in the last few years it's phenomenal uh non-goosebump stuff

[00:37:20] even so um his magic the gathering art he put out recently was incredible

[00:37:26] so stuff like that you know making original concept uh or original art for shirts uh they have an

[00:37:32] incredible team over at cavity colors uh doing all the shirts there and like the ones like with slappy

[00:37:39] and curly and the werewolf of fever swamp and uh even stuff like attack of the jack-o'-lanterns for

[00:37:44] halloween like those were really well done so um yeah i think that art is by i think his name is

[00:37:50] devin whitehead i think is his name but he actually did he does a lot of the art for scream factories

[00:37:54] like custom releases as well so he has a very distinct style uh to his drawings so it's very easy

[00:38:03] to spot out but um fantastic work going on over there at cavity colors um if there were any other

[00:38:10] goosebumps merch what would you guys want to see going into 2025 is there any sort of like gimmicky

[00:38:15] novelty stuff that you'd like to see well i know jude brought up a cartoon i guess we're going back to

[00:38:22] content um i don't really care for merch i just want more content either a sister series to house

[00:38:28] of shivers maybe like a comic or bring back gyg or something that's really what i want more then we'll

[00:38:35] have another graphic novel coming out next year uh on monster blood so uh graphics line continues to go

[00:38:42] we got that's another thing we got the incredible haunted mass graphic novel that came out this year

[00:38:47] uh that was fantastic great work by uh maddie gonzalez on uh the art for that one uh what did

[00:38:55] you guys think of that book oh i loved it i thought it was great like i bought it i think after for my

[00:39:01] birthday money i think i got it and i really think it's great and i really hope that they i think maddie

[00:39:05] gonzalez is continuing on with the monster blood one isn't she or is it a different artist but like i hope

[00:39:10] she continues because i really like her style and while it's not necessarily that dark tone that some of the

[00:39:16] graphics books like you know scare coax at midnight or world of fever swamp had it fits very well with

[00:39:22] the tone of goosebumps that kind of scary slash silly vibe to it because it has you know some of

[00:39:27] her art is very silly and then there's some frames in that haunted mass panel that are genuinely scary

[00:39:32] and i think she does a good job balancing that i would love to see her continue on to do books like

[00:39:36] welcome to dead house say cheese and die you know i would love to see so many other adaptations

[00:39:40] in this i hope that the graphics line continues definitely i i loved the sequence she included

[00:39:50] in the graphic novel where we have like carly beff having to choose between her own face and the

[00:39:55] haunted mask and when we get a look at her her face is blank until she's ready to choose i thought

[00:40:01] that was a great addition to it yeah definitely it was it's like she added her own like nuance to the

[00:40:10] book and the book was already pretty nuanced for like your typical goosebumps story um it was a great

[00:40:18] reimagining of that story and i'm so glad that she's sticking around for monster blood and i i hope to see

[00:40:23] more in the future it sounds like there will be more um the graphics line i think was like you said

[00:40:28] austin was sorely needed to go alongside the main series um just kind of have something and i'd love

[00:40:34] to see give yourself goosebumps brought back uh or just something gimmicky like just the thing that was

[00:40:41] so great about goosebumps in the 90s is that it was it was a whore of a franchise it was whoring

[00:40:48] itself out to everyone that they possibly could um there was tons of goosebumps things the reason why

[00:40:55] there's so much goosebumps 90s merch is because they were not afraid to let other companies if a company

[00:41:00] came up and said i want to do a goosebumps uh this like uh we talked with steve casino a toy inventor

[00:41:06] for happiness express back in the 90s they did nothing but goosebumps back to school items like

[00:41:12] but it was a big franchise so they could do it there's just not a lot of that these days it seems

[00:41:17] like goosebumps is a very sort of strict walled off franchise now that uh only scholastic can have

[00:41:24] their have their hands on and i think that's a result of how parachute press ran things back then too

[00:41:28] um because now scholastic owns the full rights like so they have full control over all of the

[00:41:35] merchandise so that's my two takes on uh on that one but uh i'd love to see more of that just weird toys

[00:41:44] and staplers and tape dispensers like come on just get weird with it again yes that's what i want just

[00:41:52] weird merchandise that doesn't make sense give us goosebumps bike helmets again you know

[00:41:58] like just silly things that are like why the hell is that on a you know something that it just give

[00:42:06] me all of it just give me all of it just oodles and oodles of merch is what i want i want to be able

[00:42:12] to walk into target again and just the whole halloween section is goosebumps and the whole back to school

[00:42:19] section is goosebumps like that's that's what we want yeah i mean i have two things that i've always

[00:42:26] thought about that have kind of bothered me one is that i don't feel like the original tv show got its

[00:42:34] uh proper merchandising like i don't think i've ever seen tv slappy on a t-shirt maybe there i mean maybe

[00:42:41] it's out there but i don't think i've ever seen it so especially now like if you go to walmart um you'll

[00:42:46] see all sorts of like original 1978 meyer shirts and they have images from that the movies themselves or

[00:42:54] whatever so i'd love to see some sort of like i don't know like nod to the tv show on merch and

[00:43:00] another thing that i always wondered why it wasn't paid more attention to is like legacy anniversary

[00:43:08] releases like i loved series 2000 i loved the whole rebranding and i loved the artwork and stuff

[00:43:14] and i don't feel like there was like a 20 year re-release special blah blah like all this i feel like

[00:43:21] that's such a missed opportunity for collectors definitely it's i don't know it just seems like

[00:43:28] we talked about that aforementioned goosebumps dark age and even though goosebumps has come back

[00:43:32] it just seemed like it wasn't exactly the same uh they were a little less uh willing to i don't know

[00:43:39] if it also was because of harry potter so they're like oh why do we need to do this with any of our

[00:43:43] other franchises we got harry potter we put harry potter on everything put harry potter on

[00:43:48] bathroom doors for all we care yeah off your bedroom down yeah i mean you're walking to a

[00:43:55] barnes and noble now and they still have an entire shelf of just harry potter wands and books and scar

[00:44:02] and all that junk and meanwhile goosebumps is with the rest of the the impoverished franchises

[00:44:09] i've always had such resentment for harry potter like i like harry potter but i have this like

[00:44:14] unspoken like i just want to do this when i see the shit because it took away goosebumps yes potter

[00:44:21] fuck you i fully fully agree i will say to daniel radcliffe come on man give me my goosebumps back

[00:44:30] yeah he's like hey daniel if you act in the next goosebumps tv series we'll call it even

[00:45:21] up is uh the uh the goosebumps coloring book that came out uh this year that was uh an interesting

[00:45:30] release uh lots of representation of course of tim jacobus's art and brandon dorman's art um but

[00:45:37] also like it's the first time i think i've ever seen books like werewolf skin or i live in your

[00:45:43] basement or monster blood 4 get any kind of representation and goosebumps since their initial

[00:45:48] releases um so that was like i i'm cracking open that book and seeing like chicken chicken

[00:45:54] in in there and i'll have a yeah the world is the world is healing yeah here's to hoping with those

[00:46:01] like now that i have in your basement werewolf skin mouse before here's to hoping that those

[00:46:05] eventually get retro tin releases i hope oh i wish that would be getting a new retro tin

[00:46:10] coming out in summer of next year is going to be five new books and i was so happy to hear because

[00:46:17] i thought they stopped them um i i personally get them just for the tins themselves uh i hate that

[00:46:24] they get mixed in now at half price books with all the actual original books because they look the

[00:46:28] same but like i can tell like i hate like i love the tins i don't have any of them but i hate the

[00:46:36] quality of the books inside because they're just flimsy they get fingerprints all over the covers like

[00:46:42] they're just really bad the book quality so the end here reprints basically yeah so like

[00:46:49] these are essentially haven't been read yet but they're very like i don't know they just feel a

[00:46:56] lot softer they feel like you could definitely dent these if you sit right wrong or something they

[00:47:01] don't even have the numbers on the spines or anything so they look out of place on your shelf

[00:47:05] like if you just have those instead of the regulars yeah oh that's that don't sit right with me

[00:47:16] agreed yeah now uh they're still good for you know newer audiences who don't have access to the

[00:47:21] original copy you don't have easy access to the original copies you know it's a way for them to

[00:47:25] get the original cover still to read the books and stuff when we talked with uh james rolf uh he was

[00:47:31] uh talking about how he still had some of his original books but uh he went out and bought uh i think it was

[00:47:37] actually this tin uh he went out and bought a tin so we can have a few more and then he was able to

[00:47:42] talk about like haunted mask and living dummy and stuff like that so they're definitely it's like

[00:47:47] you know if you're not hardcore collectors like we are scouting ebay every day of your life

[00:47:52] um you know sometimes it's a it's a good way to just get those books just to say you have them

[00:47:57] um anyway um now i have to talk about um of course we had goosebumps make its way on

[00:48:07] streaming again very recently uh it is now on tubi after being essentially homeless for the last

[00:48:13] few years um for originally it was on netflix it still kind of is but they only have like the

[00:48:19] the special episodes like haunted mask and terror tower um but the entire series is now up on tubi

[00:48:26] and they're also being uploaded slowly but surely to youtube uh on the official goosebumps youtube

[00:48:32] channel now uh which is very interesting to hear but one thing i would love to see we always bring

[00:48:39] this up give us a goddamn box set yeah give us it's all we've ever wanted yes like there are so

[00:48:49] many shows getting complete series box sets on blu-ray and 4k remastered like god damn just do it

[00:48:55] already other countries have this already so like why don't we have this in the u.s um especially

[00:49:01] because some episodes never got released at all yeah the clock of doom has not gotten a release on

[00:49:08] tape or on uh dvd in the u.s and then uh werewolf skin and haunted mask haunted mask one is only

[00:49:15] available physically on vhs there's never been a dvd of it in the state so that's criminal that's wild

[00:49:24] it is and um i just hope to see a full box set especially because next year is the 30th anniversary

[00:49:33] of the 90s show uh premiered uh october 1995 so this year was the 29th anniversary next year is the

[00:49:41] 30th so uh you know that would be my my one christmas wish right there give us a full box set

[00:49:49] of the series please throw the goosebumps fans at bone maybe disney will do it i mean they did it

[00:49:54] with chip and dale rescue rangers when that new movie came out for no reason they're like complete

[00:49:59] series on blu-ray yay uh you know maybe they'll do that with this if season two is a big enough hit

[00:50:06] i sure hope so i hope season two is good definitely um of course we did our episode talking about our

[00:50:13] predictions um it looks like it's going to be a little uh more fun than season one goosebump season

[00:50:21] two will be uh what do you guys think on your initial reactions oh i think the trailer alone was

[00:50:28] 10 times better than the former seasons trailer i think i think it lays out the idea way better than

[00:50:34] the first one and i think it's more captivating and hearing that the characters are like named dr

[00:50:39] brewer i mean come on i mean how does that not tickle your heartstrings compared to the first season

[00:50:45] i'm like holy crap we got dr brewer on screen count me yeah i guess like i mean for me it's like i'm

[00:50:51] so hyped because it definitely seems a lot better it does still seem like we're probably gonna get

[00:50:54] more loose adaptations of the books because like it seems like stay out of the basement dr brewer is

[00:50:59] gonna get like taken over by this plant entity instead of being cloned by it and it seems like from

[00:51:04] the trailer looks like monster blood is almost maybe gonna be that black substance that we see or it's

[00:51:09] like sentient blood from like cc or that character's like nosebleed that you see at one point in the

[00:51:14] trailer so it seems like they're still going the loose adaptation route but for me personally i don't

[00:51:20] mind loose adaptations as long as they're done well because look at episodes from the 90s show like

[00:51:24] haunted mass 2 haunted house game those are very loose adaptations and they were great so

[00:51:30] yeah that's the thing you can make it a loose adaptation and still be good writing

[00:51:36] like goey worms yeah goey worms was like the prime example of that because that's nothing like

[00:51:42] the original book and yet honestly i think they made the story better that's like the one scenario i

[00:51:49] will give season one that fully they took a terrible goosebumps book one that even i think rl stein

[00:51:56] says you regretting and uh made it into arguably the best episode of the entire show um

[00:52:02] because they changed the concept so and they gave they gave the writer of goey worms uh the i think

[00:52:09] the lead writer position of this new season so i think that's a good promotion there you see that

[00:52:14] too because it just seems like you know you got plants flying everywhere you have the the whole scene

[00:52:19] where he's picking the worms out of his arm uh which as someone with trypophobia really made my skin

[00:52:26] crawl uh i'm really curious to see what that full scene is gonna be like like what's like what's

[00:52:32] what's causing those like tendril things what's gonna come out of those like

[00:52:37] but i mean it definitely seems a lot more uh interesting than season one i'm a lot more

[00:52:43] intrigued to see what happens but uh i'm also going in cautiously optimistic because

[00:52:48] uh you never know they could still muck it up right and also i really remember watching like

[00:52:55] they released like part at least parts of the actual comic-con panel that premiered when the

[00:52:59] trailer premiered on youtube and i saw that and they said that they're one of the episodes is a

[00:53:04] found footage episode which we already kind of knew but i saw i think it was they had the director

[00:53:09] of the blair witch project to do the found footage episode oh well then any more authentic than that

[00:53:17] and like even i think um isaiah you posted this on your instagram story but i saw too

[00:53:22] in one of season two is like promotional materials for like i think it was a photo op or something that

[00:53:26] they're doing they did it as like an homage to the 90s show theme with like the new

[00:53:30] floating across like different scenes from the show new season they i was gonna say if you guys

[00:53:37] haven't seen that over on the goosebumps uh series instagram they posted a teaser for like a photo op

[00:53:43] that's happening and i swear it's basically just an homage to the 90s show with the g gliding a pat past

[00:53:50] the whole city um and it's like following people it's like flying over new york i think it's really

[00:53:57] if that were the intro to the show i would immediately be seated it'd be a lot more interesting

[00:54:03] um now i want to move on to something really quick uh there are not many goosebumps related uh

[00:54:09] commercials out there and uh but i did want to do one video reaction and this is to uh something that

[00:54:16] was part of a televised special back in 1997 uh for the at the time newly opened goosebumps horror

[00:54:25] and fright show at disney mgm studios in walt disney world so i just want to share this video really

[00:54:31] quick um it's one of the last surviving pieces of that um that endeavor stay tuned beauty and the

[00:54:40] beasts page o'hara and a christmas celebration with the creepiest characters this side of horror land

[00:56:41] uh photos behind the scenes photos from uh the mask of slappy and it was actually done by some people who

[00:56:50] worked on the goosebumps movie i i don't remember the name i would have to look it up um again but it

[00:56:56] was like an effect studio that worked on the goosebumps movie but also coincidentally worked on those masks for

[00:57:02] that show but uh we plan to do an episode talking about that live show coming up in uh the next year

[00:57:09] but uh that's like one of the only surviving footage of that besides like footage of the actual show so i

[00:57:15] felt like that would be a great thing to show and it's christmas related too you know they're having a

[00:57:20] whole big christmas party with rl stein in front of horrorland um i just love rl stein coming out with

[00:58:40] my birthday but it was close to christmas well what'd you get do you guys remember the book set

[00:58:48] that came out with those werewolf slippers yes okay they were brown remember there was like it took me

[00:58:55] forever to find them again and i think uh one of you uh found them for me but it it it was uh my dad

[00:59:03] got me him one year i don't know where he got him but i was super thrilled to have him i wore the hell

[00:59:08] out of them and uh obviously never saw him again after that but yeah that was probably one of the

[00:59:14] coolest goosebumps like merch i had gotten so yeah that's awesome we were talking about uh sort of the

[00:59:23] rise in goosebumps merch uh over the last year and all the different things that we've gotten

[00:59:27] but uh now i want to talk about uh goosebumps from the perspective of this here podcast you

[00:59:33] know uh this is a time to reflect and uh really be thankful for sort of the the things that you

[00:59:39] know you get to do in life and i just gotta say with all you guys here uh 2024 has been awesome

[00:59:45] because we've gotten to grow the goosebumps crew um both in terms of members and just the podcast in

[00:59:51] general uh we started this podcast back november of uh 2023 we got about three or four episodes in

[00:59:59] before we went into 2024 and uh one of the first things that we did was join rt media uh thanks to

[01:00:06] jake he was super welcoming to us and uh we came in with guns a-blazing and uh it was just an awesome

[01:00:14] delight to get to join the rt family and uh you know get to know everybody there who hosts all the

[01:00:19] other podcasts and just be a part of that crew uh our own you know the goosebumps crew joined the rt crew

[01:00:25] so uh thank you to jake for uh being open to bringing us on well we were thrilled to have you

[01:00:32] guys um when nick told me you guys are starting that podcast i immediately said um i would love

[01:00:37] for you guys to join because i knew you guys were going to be big so and i was 100 correct your guys's

[01:00:45] growth has been incredible and we have to mention the star power that you've gotten over the past year

[01:00:51] i was gonna say one thing we love to do on this podcast is that we've gotten to uh one thing i just

[01:00:59] want to say is that i hope that with our podcast we uh give exponentially to the goosebumps community

[01:01:09] the goosebumps crew is everyone the whole goosebumps community is the goosebumps crew um i've seen so many

[01:01:20] recently um who just love this franchise and uh continue to share their collections and their love

[01:01:41] posts he sees on instagram are from us the goosebumps crew uh because we uh we try to be out there as

[01:01:48] possible and uh another thing i feel that we've done is uh bring all these wonderful interviews with uh

[01:01:57] people in the goosebumps franchise to you guys in the goosebumps community uh but before i go ahead

[01:02:03] and give my acclimates to them i want to once again thank all of you guys uh for being extended

[01:05:07] very first full goosebumps art in years not officially but uh you know he did an official

[01:05:19] we brought on alan ducette and matt the wild ron stefanik director ron oliver who actually uh

[01:05:25] not only was he super fun to talk to but he got us actually this close to possibly getting ryan

[01:05:31] gosling on uh at the very least he got us in contact with his uh his agent who said he's not doing any

[01:05:37] fan podcasts right now we'll get him we'll get him well we'll just just wait for him to stop being so

[01:06:33] goosebumps musical that was a lot of fun we actually got uh contacted by a theater in new york who wants

[01:06:39] to possibly do an interview because they did a uh their own interpretation of that musical

[01:06:44] hopefully we can get that going uh jen vaughn who did download and die she was awesome samuel wire

[01:06:50] who did uh goosebumps alive the show in london uh god who else avery jones came on two times one time

[01:06:57] he brought slappy with him that was super super fun oh man i i hope i'm not forgetting anybody

[01:07:47] nagata another goosebumps cover artist coming out uh maddie gonzalez who we were just talking about is

[01:07:52] doing the recent line of goosebumps graphics uh has uh said she's interested to come on robert ball the

[01:07:58] very current goosebumps cover artist uh for house of shivers has expressed interest so there's lots of

[01:08:04] lots of other people but uh i also got to kick it to uh just you the goosebumps community whether

[01:08:10] you've liked commented subscribed followed rated whatever it is uh or even just shared with your

[01:08:16] friends uh it means the world to us um that we get to share our love for goosebumps with the rest of

[01:08:23] the world and we hope that um you know going into 2025 growing our podcast and hopefully uh with one

[01:08:30] week in a harlan which i also got to give a big shout out to everybody who supported uh one week in a

[01:08:35] harlan unfortunately we weren't able to raise enough money for the kickstarter but uh from what

[01:08:40] jake has told us this is uh some good news on the horizon for the convention so hopefully by the

[01:08:45] time we get to the 30th anniversary of the tv show the 10th anniversary of the movie uh we can bring

[01:08:51] that convention to you guys and you guys can get to meet uh all these people that we've talked with

[01:08:56] you know catherine long catherine short cal dodd the voice of slappy in the 90s show and also

[01:09:02] wolverine but uh slappy's better well and one one quick note about those that supported the kickstarter

[01:09:09] um we know who you are we have a list and you will not be forgotten yep wink wink hint hint

[01:09:17] yep because you guys were there for us when we needed it and even though it didn't work out we

[01:09:23] are going to honor your guys's commitment in some way so keep stay tuned we're going to be bringing

[01:09:27] you guys uh lots and lots of uh information on that once it becomes available i want to kick it back

[01:10:06] that was so much fun that was uh that was that was man that took me back i'm not gonna lie that one

[01:10:13] i mean i had vivid memories of just seeing those screenshots like as a kid like it was

[01:10:19] that was pretty dope i'm not gonna lie i was really impressed we were able to go through all that stuff

[01:10:24] and uh what i i know i asked the question but actually really quick uh you know we got to do

[01:10:30] catherine long catherine short name is crawling all in one episode um you know if it weren't for

[01:10:37] catherine long's first episode being our no doubt biggest one uh 10 000 views so far uh what do you

[01:10:44] guys think of just the fact that you know all these actors have come out of the woodwork to talk about

[01:10:48] goosebumps like it's it's just very surreal to see this stuff happening especially like back when i was

[01:10:53] more of a full-time member of this podcast just it's such it was such a surreal experience to be

[01:10:57] able to talk to all these people that just you know made my childhood i know for you guys obviously

[01:11:02] we do this every day it's another awesome experience for you all and just you know even just watching

[01:11:07] the podcast now even though i'm not really a full-time member anymore it's still just really

[01:11:11] cool to see all these interviews come to life and just see all these again all these actors who are

[01:11:17] just so impactful to me as a kid and to all of us as a kid just getting to see them come out of

[01:11:22] the woodworks and talk about goosebumps it's just really fun to see and just bring unlocking some

[01:11:26] memories for these people who probably haven't thought about this show ever since they stopped

[01:11:30] production on the episodes like you literally had movie slappy on like that is so cool i don't even

[01:11:40] like the movies and honestly that's probably my favorite episode because it was like funny

[01:11:46] he just kept his jaw kept freezing like i just that that was that whole thing was really fun

[01:11:51] it was really cool i mean that was that was incredible and seriously huge shout out to avery jones

[01:11:56] for that because uh he was such a good sport about that and uh yeah it was so surreal to talk to

[01:12:02] slappy like we just slappy there especially with his like his like his dress shirt and his sunglasses

[01:12:10] and he looked like just a rockin movie star that was so much fun i i remember i just had the biggest

[01:12:17] dopiest smile on my face um the whole time i loved that episode yeah um and then uh like i said you

[01:12:26] know getting to talk with uh even cal dodd staying on topic with slappy cal dodd was fantastic uh that

[01:12:32] was a really fun episode and very recently the one that uh we nominated for best episode at the

[01:12:38] 2024 arty awards uh our interview with judah katz and becky lantos from stay out of the basement

[01:12:45] um i think that was by far our funniest episode and that's because of judah katz uh the actor

[01:12:51] brewer um i think that's my favorite episode personally i've been listening to all of them

[01:12:58] since it's come out and to me to me that that podcast episode really exemplifies why i love this

[01:13:05] podcast and listening to you guys interview these actors and creators because it humanizes them you

[01:13:11] know we grew up just watching them in roles right you get to actually see them as people and that

[01:13:15] and that breaks that fourth wall uh and gets us insight into how they were thinking because there's

[01:13:21] there's no real interviews on a dvd box set like we brought up earlier there's there's no making of

[01:13:26] or anything on video records so having this is very important in archival uh history for goosebumps fans

[01:13:34] and i just i think that what you guys are doing is much needed and needed to be done years ago but

[01:13:41] better late than never and uh you guys are doing a lot of great work really yeah i didn't get to add

[01:13:48] on to that i think what's really cool is through some of the interviews that i've seen it's uh you're

[01:13:53] seeing that a lot of these actors you know it was a big prime time for them you know as kids or

[01:13:58] whatever and i think not only that but you see that they're fans too and you know this is for some of

[01:14:04] them like you said kind of the first woodwork of them getting out there and opening the door to

[01:14:08] doing an interview or whatever and uh it should be done it should have been done a long time ago and

[01:14:13] it's cool that you guys have finally brought that to light and so you know not only are you talking to

[01:14:18] actors actresses whatever like avery jones it's like but in seeing the talent but you get to talk to

[01:14:23] them as people and you know you get to see kind of the person behind the mask you know and that's

[01:14:28] that's really cool so definitely and another thing i've loved that we gotten to do is just kind of uh

[01:14:36] tackle a goosebumps podcast that talks from a super fans perspective a lot of goosebumps podcasts

[01:14:41] that i've seen at least and this was something that like going into doing this i was worried it was

[01:14:48] like well what are we going to do to stand out um because many goosebumps podcasts focus more on the

[01:14:52] reviewing side they'll talk about one book or one episode and we just wanted to like talk about

[01:14:59] goosebumps like nerds like so we have episodes where we like talk about a certain series or we'll talk

[01:15:05] about things like uh a certain genre a sub-genre of goosebumps books uh or we'll talk about like the

[01:15:12] ones that are most expensive or more rarest to find almost like a guide um very recently our episode

[01:15:19] with jared and elvis where we talked about like advice to aspiring goosebumps collectors that was

[01:15:24] a really fun one uh because we just got to give our own like experiences and advice with collecting

[01:15:29] and uh i feel like that's most important especially for our fans out there who um maybe are looking to

[01:15:36] find more goosebumps stuff or uh you know just looking to start a collection i actually sold a bunch of

[01:15:42] doubles recently and uh they were super super happy just to like get closer to finishing like a set of books

[01:15:49] um or like they're like i'm this closer to finishing my og 62 and it just makes it feel really good

[01:15:55] um that's why the goosebumps community is so great because everybody from what i've seen is just so

[01:16:00] attached everybody's so friendly to each other everybody's willing to just be like hey if you're looking

[01:16:05] for this book i got it um like i can give it to you uh i feel like that's the camaraderie uh is the

[01:16:12] best part of the goosebumps community overall hell yeah could have said it better myself

[01:16:19] and um i guess uh one last thing uh i do want to ask um in terms of goosebumps uh what would you guys

[01:16:29] say was like probably the best goosebumps experience uh out of 2024 what would you say if you could think

[01:16:38] of one for us personally like something that happened to us yeah oh dude i got one of the caesar

[01:16:45] ramirez tv slappy replicas and that's like my ultimate grail piece is like an accurate working tv slappy

[01:16:54] wow that's the one yeah yeah for me uh i got to finally meet rl stein this year uh that has been a

[01:17:02] lifelong goal and i've tried for years to make it happen i had to travel to new york to do it but uh

[01:17:09] it finally happened and now i can die in peace i'm jealous yeah uh i met rl stein back in last year

[01:17:20] so i can't comment on that for in terms of this year but um hopefully we can get him at the convention

[01:17:26] uh that's another one we want to get so fingers crossed on that one there is a contingency if

[01:17:34] if he or someone else does randomly show up so there is a plan there is an action plan in place in case

[01:17:41] that happens and another thing i want to bring up uh in terms of because i'm a full i'm a goosebumps

[01:17:48] wiki editor at heart so um one thing i love doing with our interviews is getting to uh bring that new

[01:17:55] trivia like you guys like you guys said uh you know just getting to learn new things about uh

[01:18:00] you know whether it be stuff from ron stefanik about like how slime apparently made the the masks

[01:18:08] deteriorate faster or uh just stuff like that like the little trivia stuff that's the best part of doing

[01:18:14] these uh sorts of things because you get to learn more about the goosebumps series um from an angle

[01:18:20] you may not have heard of from before um that's been the best part for me personally or one of the

[01:18:26] best parts my best goosebumps related experience this year was um me being able to finally track down

[01:18:35] some of the other contestants from the 1994-1998 title contest like when i was able to get in touch with

[01:18:43] katie easton from the brain juice contest and she texted me a list she had of all these other titles

[01:18:51] that she came up with that she considered submitting instead of granny's gruesome graveyard garden and

[01:18:57] getting to write that story for one of her titles that was fun you know what something i'd love to do

[01:19:04] in the future because you know we talked to uh jim smiley did slime doesn't pay that was the winner of

[01:19:10] the 1994 contest we should do an episode getting all the other uh finalists that'd be cool like

[01:19:16] yeah creator of uh of like uh 40 what was it god i always forget i think one of them is like the

[01:19:24] grim libra lives in my locker no i can kill you like those kind of ones i mean i have i've spoken to

[01:19:33] mike sneed a couple of times i could pass along the information if you guys want to try to get in

[01:19:38] contact with them that'd be awesome yeah i'd be done for them i've got tobias falzone and lauren

[01:19:46] fishman i was able to find michelle devlin but she had like absolutely no memory of that contest so

[01:19:53] she wasn't sure if she participated in it or not and i have like no idea where to find the one who came

[01:20:01] up with the frog's rough tile because there was no actual name attached to that i think it might

[01:20:08] potentially be somebody who lives in like sparta new jersey i don't know i've been meaning to like

[01:20:15] try and investigate that rap but i just haven't had the time and energy for it and um did i mention

[01:20:24] lauren fishman as well yep yep so if you guys want i could try to pass along the info to them like a couple of

[01:20:34] them i've only like texted via phone so be a cool episode just fully dedicated to that um series yeah

[01:20:43] yeah that'd be awesome i'd love to talk more about uh just sort of the you know the more unknown parts of the

[01:20:53] contest like lost goosebumps books like that was really fun because that was info that not a lot

[01:21:00] of people knew i even got people who were being like i had no idea that they had like these contests

[01:21:04] back in the 90s i'm like yeah man goosebumps had everything everything was goosebumps um one thing

[01:21:12] uh i want to say before we close things off is uh once again all you guys have uh really been a part

[01:21:20] of our uh extended goosebumps family and uh i guess my last question is uh just besides goosebumps uh any

[01:21:27] plans to end off the new year or uh just kind of hanging out hanging out with family yeah pretty

[01:21:32] much with me you know just doing a bunch of christmas celebrations just relaxing while preparing for the

[01:21:36] new semester yeah you guys not much really eat lots of christmas celebrations really probably spend some

[01:21:45] time with some friends back home things like that i'm waiting for my organ ducks to win the national

[01:21:49] championship so they just might i'm just you know a season ticket older so you know just waiting for

[01:21:58] that but no same thing i got four kids so we just dropped a grand unfortunately on christmas presents so

[01:22:05] i'm broke as a joke so we're uh we're done but at the same time uh yeah no it's

[01:22:14] holidays are always they're always they're always tough sometimes too it's been a rough year and death

[01:22:19] on this side of the on the screen so you know it's i'm hoping every bone of one of you guys next year

[01:22:26] you know has a really good positive year i feel like 2024 was a little rough for a lot of people

[01:22:30] so yeah well you know here's to uh a great 2025 you know uh both in terms of goosebumps and life

[01:22:43] you know you never know uh start of the new year you know you never know where life's gonna lead you

[01:22:49] so it can only go up but uh any any last words you guys want to give to the the listeners and viewers
