[00:02:58] And we thank you in advance for your support.

[00:03:01] So, it is officially 2025.

[00:03:03] We're in a brand new year.

[00:03:04] Brand new year of Goosebumps.

[00:03:06] The brand new year of Goosebumps crew.

[00:03:08] And, you know, at the start of every year, you do two things.

[00:03:16] You look back on the previous year, and you look forward in the new year.

[00:03:21] And looking forward is what we're going to be talking about today.

[00:03:26] Specifically, looking forward in terms of Goosebumps.

[00:03:29] Now, for any of you guys who grew up with the books back in the 90s, you'll remember that at the end of every Goosebumps book, there was always a few pages that advertised what was next from the franchise.

[00:03:40] This was upcoming books that were coming later in the year.

[00:03:44] These were other, like, contests, fan clubs, and just a bunch of other little trinkets and whatnot.

[00:03:52] It was always just a great part of Goosebumps is when you finish a book, and then you just get to turn and see all the awesome stuff that was coming up next.

[00:04:00] And as Bjorn's showing off, there's a...

[00:04:03] He's got a book.

[00:04:04] Yeah, we need to mail that guy.

[00:04:07] Someone wrote in it, but they didn't mail it.

[00:04:10] I hope we didn't just dock someone.

[00:04:14] They just showed some random person's, like, yeah.

[00:04:20] But that's exactly what we're going to focus on today is the little back of the book or in-book advertisements that were in the original Goosebumps books.

[00:04:30] And there's a lot of them for many, many different things.

[00:04:33] So we're going to go through as many as we possibly can and give our thoughts on them.

[00:04:37] This was the...

[00:04:40] As Bjorn said, this was in the back of Scarecrow Walks at Midnight.

[00:04:43] This was the What Gives You Goosebumps contest.

[00:04:46] And if I'm not mistaken, I think it was the very first back of the book contest in the Goosebumps series.

[00:04:53] Basically, as it says here, in 25 words or less, tell R.L. Stine what gives you Goosebumps, the scariest, grossest, creepiest thing you can imagine.

[00:05:01] And if you win, your answer will appear in an exciting new Goosebumps book with before and after pictures of you.

[00:05:06] Our special effects experts will monsterize your photograph, showing you as you are and as you might be after reading it.

[00:05:14] I've seen those.

[00:05:16] Pictures are epic.

[00:05:17] Yep, they were.

[00:05:19] And we're going to take a look at them.

[00:05:20] But yep, you had to mail in this little postage right down here with a photo of yourself.

[00:05:27] And then there were, I believe, five people who got featured in the back of a Goosebumps book.

[00:05:33] So here's the first of them.

[00:05:35] And it says,

[00:05:36] We ask Goosebumps fans everywhere to tell us what gives you Goosebumps.

[00:05:39] This month's winner was Sam Walling, age 10, Kingwood, Texas.

[00:05:45] Having cold as death hands run down my back.

[00:05:48] And when I turn around, it is a green five eyed monster.

[00:05:51] My sister.

[00:05:53] Oh, that's mean.

[00:05:56] He's mean.

[00:05:57] He's worse than the Huck 2 girl.

[00:06:00] Shut up.

[00:06:01] And of course, we have a before and after picture of little Sam here.

[00:06:09] I really like this.

[00:06:11] It's basically like old school Photoshop in a way.

[00:06:16] You can see sort of like the faces distorted.

[00:06:19] Can you imagine you were in the back of a Goosebumps book forever like that?

[00:06:23] That was me.

[00:06:24] That was me.

[00:06:26] Me.

[00:06:28] The next one we got the next month.

[00:06:31] Immortalized in a Goosebumps book forever.

[00:06:33] This one was Malia Spencer, age 10, Santa Ana, California.

[00:06:39] Blood sucking vampires that just moved in next door and have a refrigerator filled with big huge jars of blood down in the basement.

[00:06:46] And of course, little Malia got transformed into a vampire.

[00:06:53] Very fitting.

[00:06:55] Next up.

[00:06:56] More like a werewolf.

[00:06:57] Holy moly.

[00:06:59] That one looks terrifying.

[00:07:00] Look at him.

[00:07:01] Ryan.

[00:07:01] Ryan looks like straight up porn star vampire.

[00:07:05] What is happening here?

[00:07:06] That is Ryan Rogers, age 12, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

[00:07:11] I've always been afraid of frogs.

[00:07:13] They scare me more than anything.

[00:07:15] They give me goosebumps.

[00:07:16] When I see one, I just want to croak.

[00:07:19] Oh, I see what you did there.

[00:07:22] Mike.

[00:07:22] I want to know exactly what book this was in the back of.

[00:07:25] This one.

[00:07:26] I don't know.

[00:07:26] This looks like.

[00:07:27] Vampire Breath, surely.

[00:07:28] Vampire Breath.

[00:07:29] I mean, yeah.

[00:07:30] No, May 1995.

[00:07:32] This would have been like in the middle of the series.

[00:07:34] Probably around like books 30 or so.

[00:07:37] And these don't have to be first print books too.

[00:07:39] I highly doubt when they reprinted these.

[00:07:43] These were in first printings.

[00:07:44] You'll find a lot of the sort of contest stuff in the first printings or at least early printings.

[00:07:51] I remember this one.

[00:07:53] Sarah Razemski, age 14, Trenton, New Jersey.

[00:07:56] I get goosebumps when I look in the mirror at night.

[00:07:59] I'm always afraid a ghost or someone else will be looking back.

[00:08:03] That is kind of scary.

[00:08:04] Bloody Mary.

[00:08:05] He's an older Goosebump fan.

[00:08:06] 14.

[00:08:07] I know.

[00:08:08] Wow.

[00:08:09] 14 years old.

[00:08:11] Would have been like, I don't know.

[00:08:14] Probably like middle school, I would think.

[00:08:16] How old?

[00:08:19] What year was this?

[00:08:20] 195?

[00:08:23] I think this was in 1995.

[00:08:27] It says,

[00:08:27] New Year's are announced each month in the back of a Goosebones book through May 1995.

[00:08:33] So this was the first five months of that year.

[00:08:36] You're like 43 now.

[00:08:38] 44?

[00:08:39] That's not 43.

[00:08:41] And then the last one.

[00:08:43] Yeah, I mean, right in my wheelhouse.

[00:08:45] We have Kelly Siren, I think, age 7.

[00:08:50] In Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

[00:08:53] Crickets.

[00:08:53] Big, giant crickets.

[00:08:55] Big, giant, noisy crickets.

[00:08:56] Crickets under my pillow.

[00:08:58] Bigger ones under my bed.

[00:08:59] Giant crickets that eat people.

[00:09:01] I get goosebumps.

[00:09:03] Honestly, I should do a Goosebumps book about that instead of go eat worms.

[00:09:07] Don't tell if the left one or the right one's more scary, though.

[00:09:09] Yeah, she does look pretty evil in her normal picture.

[00:09:13] Yeah, she does.

[00:09:14] It's because she's missing her teeth.

[00:09:16] At least it looks like it.

[00:09:19] She's having a gay go teeth on the right.

[00:09:21] They, like, added some teeth in.

[00:09:22] They're like, here you go.

[00:09:23] Yeah, they did.

[00:09:26] Oh, we got one more.

[00:09:27] So we have...

[00:09:28] I remember this one.

[00:09:30] Age 9, Seattle, Washington.

[00:09:33] What gives me goosebumps is if instead of you taking the flavor out of the gum,

[00:09:37] the gum will take the flavor out of you.

[00:09:41] Wrong.

[00:09:42] Eh, it was all right.

[00:09:44] Kind of like the goblin in front.

[00:09:46] This actually looks like the mask episode in the 2023 series.

[00:09:51] Yeah, a little bit.

[00:09:53] Yeah.

[00:09:54] That was foreshadowing.

[00:09:55] Probably the same kid.

[00:09:56] This is what they based the goblin off.

[00:09:58] They saw the back of the book and went, hey, we'll do that.

[00:10:00] When you said goblin, I thought you were going to say green goblin.

[00:10:03] No, no, no.

[00:10:04] That's the goblin from the haunted mask episode in the new show.

[00:10:09] So that's why I reckon they...

[00:10:11] Because, like, obviously, you know, they always looked at the covers,

[00:10:13] but maybe this time they're like, let's look in the back pages.

[00:10:16] And we'll get some inspiration.

[00:10:18] Well, next up, we're taking a look.

[00:10:20] Yeah, I didn't think she took a golem mask from the novelty shop.

[00:10:23] Oh, yeah.

[00:10:24] Ooh, that's a rare calendar, isn't it?

[00:10:26] Yep, we're taking a look at Goosebumps calendars.

[00:10:28] This is for the Goosebumps calendar 1995.

[00:10:32] Celebrate spooktacular events like Mummy's Day, April Ghoul's Day,

[00:10:37] National Scream Month, and more with the Goosebumps 1995 calendar.

[00:10:41] Each month features full-color illustrations from your favorite Goosebumps book.

[00:10:45] Plus, you get 75 glow-in-the-dark stickers,

[00:10:49] a full-color glow-in-the-dark poster, fun facts about R.L. Stine, plus a photo.

[00:10:54] And then...

[00:10:55] It's the R.L. Stine photo.

[00:10:58] I feel back to the 90s, bro.

[00:10:59] I don't know where all the calendars is.

[00:11:01] Then we have to live in the 90s.

[00:11:03] The 96 calendar featured two Goosebumps pull-up pictures in 3D,

[00:11:10] a monsterized photo of R.L. Stine with more fun facts about your favorite Frightmaster,

[00:11:16] and 75 all-new scary stickers.

[00:11:19] That's where they all came from.

[00:11:20] These photos of R.L. Stine that you find all the time,

[00:11:22] with the random scary face and the normal R.L. Stine.

[00:11:25] They're all from these calendars.

[00:11:26] Yeah, the poster and stuff that you see out there.

[00:11:29] Yeah.

[00:11:29] Yeah.

[00:11:30] Like, just kind of the stock ones you probably get,

[00:11:33] that are probably from these calendars.

[00:11:35] Next up, we have the 19...

[00:11:38] Oh, we skip ahead to 1998.

[00:11:40] The rarest of the calendars.

[00:11:42] Wall calendar.

[00:11:44] Full color covers of your favorite Goosebumps books,

[00:11:46] as well as something new to scratch and sniff each month.

[00:11:49] Your wall will never be more horrifically decorated.

[00:11:53] And the 365 Scare Day 1998 calendar.

[00:11:58] Test your daily scare howl with cool Goosebumps trivia questions for every day of the year.

[00:12:04] Don't risk missing a day of spooky fun, but don't peek ahead.

[00:12:07] You'll never know what will happen.

[00:12:09] They're actually my favorite ones, though.

[00:12:11] So, you know, I wish they did a 99 calendar, because if they did,

[00:12:14] because we would have got Series 2000 ones on the...

[00:12:17] Each month would have been like a Series 2000 if we had a 99, which is so sad.

[00:12:22] Didn't another country continue the calendar years, though?

[00:12:25] Yes.

[00:12:25] Yes.

[00:12:26] Italy or Germany, or one of them.

[00:12:29] They did the...

[00:12:29] Yeah, one of them did.

[00:12:30] They continued calendars to 2001.

[00:12:33] And they had a Series 2000.

[00:12:34] Literally, the front cover of one of them, I'm pretty sure, was Are You Terrified Yet?

[00:12:38] So, that was interesting.

[00:12:40] And, yeah, I would get those just to see the months.

[00:12:43] That'd be awesome.

[00:12:44] Well, next up, we're moving on, talking to that Goosebumps chick about the...

[00:12:48] That Scratch and Sniff calendar.

[00:12:50] I think we remember...

[00:12:51] I think we asked her, how's that smell today?

[00:12:54] Oh.

[00:12:55] I don't think there was an answer to that.

[00:12:58] I think it's sealed.

[00:13:00] If it's still sealed, do you reckon it would still smell?

[00:13:04] Like, if it was sealed?

[00:13:05] No.

[00:13:06] Like, those...

[00:13:07] I don't know.

[00:13:08] I mean, where's the smell gonna go?

[00:13:10] I mean, I would think so.

[00:13:12] It's a 25-year-old calendar.

[00:13:15] I don't really know.

[00:13:19] Well, this is a very iconic one.

[00:13:21] Yep.

[00:13:22] This was the...

[00:13:22] We're moving on now to the Goosebumps fan clubs.

[00:13:25] We won't spend too much time on these because we want to talk more about Goosebumps fan club.

[00:13:31] Next week.

[00:13:32] I've spoiled next week.

[00:13:33] So, look.

[00:13:34] See?

[00:13:36] But...

[00:13:36] Go spoil.

[00:13:37] This was the first advertisement for the, at the time, newly published Goosebumps fan club.

[00:13:45] This was in a very early book.

[00:13:47] I think this was, like, probably in Girl Cry Monster or Camp Nightmare or something like that.

[00:13:55] This was early.

[00:13:56] It says, join the Goosebumps fan club.

[00:13:58] It's more fun than the Barrel of Mummies.

[00:14:00] Get a one-year membership and all this great stuff.

[00:14:03] All for just $8.95 plus $2 postage and handling.

[00:14:08] You can't get all this great stuff anywhere else except in the Goosebumps fan club.

[00:14:13] Monkeys in a barrel?

[00:14:15] Ha!

[00:14:16] What's up.

[00:14:16] We got mummies in a barrel.

[00:14:18] And then this is one that started appearing later in the series.

[00:14:22] This had a picture of what the fan club pack came in.

[00:14:26] It was a green coffin that said, beware Goosebumps, the official fan club pack.

[00:14:33] Yeah.

[00:14:33] That's the most attainable one, too.

[00:14:35] Like, the most common of all the fan clubs.

[00:14:37] If you want one, you'll most likely find this one.

[00:14:40] There's probably one online right now.

[00:14:43] Although there's somebody just trying to sell the box.

[00:14:46] Just the box for $200.

[00:14:48] I'm like, bro.

[00:14:49] No!

[00:14:50] You're dreaming, buddy.

[00:14:51] You're dreaming, buddy.

[00:14:53] Nobody out there buying that.

[00:14:54] You only want to pay $200 for it if I wanted just the box would be the series 2001.

[00:14:59] If I had all the contents inside and I needed just the box, I would only pay that much for

[00:15:04] the series 2001.

[00:15:05] Because that one is like...

[00:15:06] I wouldn't pay that much.

[00:15:07] You're paying for a small piece of cardboard.

[00:15:09] Yeah.

[00:15:10] Not for that one.

[00:15:11] Not for that one.

[00:15:11] That's what the card would represent.

[00:15:13] That's like telling people who buy sports cards or Pokemon cards that they're spending $200 or

[00:15:18] $300 on one card.

[00:15:20] Not worth it.

[00:15:21] But it just really depends on the individual and the value.

[00:15:24] I mean, stuff is rare.

[00:15:26] Like that two series 2000 box, I would even pay $200 just for the box for that if I had

[00:15:32] the other contents.

[00:15:33] Yeah.

[00:15:34] Yeah.

[00:15:35] Moving on.

[00:15:36] This one is probably the one I remember the most.

[00:15:39] That's common too.

[00:15:40] Those two.

[00:15:41] This one and the one before.

[00:15:42] These are the ones you find all the time.

[00:15:44] This one I always remembered seeing in the back of the books.

[00:15:48] Most definitely because of Curly.

[00:15:51] Which I don't know if that technically is Curly.

[00:15:53] That's just the skeleton from the Say Cheese and Die poster.

[00:15:56] Say Cheese and Die.

[00:15:59] But unbelievable dudes.

[00:16:02] It's more exclusive.

[00:16:03] New Goosebumps stuff to collect.

[00:16:05] Get the stuff.

[00:16:06] Get the inside scary scoop on the latest books, the TV show, video games, and everything Goosebumps.

[00:16:12] So this one came in a different box.

[00:16:15] It was almost like a rectangular box with a tombstone that says, here lies Goosebumps.

[00:16:20] The official Goosebumps fan club.

[00:16:24] I love that one.

[00:16:25] And then moving on.

[00:16:27] We have the official Goosebumps fan club.

[00:16:30] This one I believe was from...

[00:16:32] It's the same one.

[00:16:33] It's the same one as the...

[00:16:35] The same one.

[00:16:36] It's just that this one's just got...

[00:16:38] This is what it actually looked like.

[00:16:42] It actually put a real photo of Curly on there for one.

[00:16:46] So props to them for that.

[00:16:47] Yeah, this is the real box.

[00:16:49] The other one was almost like the prototype of what it was going to be.

[00:16:53] And this was like the official...

[00:16:55] That's the official image.

[00:16:58] So that's really cool.

[00:17:00] And then moving on.

[00:17:01] We come to the one right there.

[00:17:04] This was the Goosebumps fan club 2000.

[00:17:09] Be the first on your block to join the all new Goosebumps fan club 2000.

[00:17:13] Your favorite fan club just got better.

[00:17:17] Sign up today and get an all new exclusive Goosebumps series 2000 stuff for your locker,

[00:17:22] your room, or anywhere.

[00:17:23] All items will be mailed in a one-of-a-kind shipper that's so cool it's scary.

[00:17:29] So...

[00:17:30] It is really weird.

[00:17:33] So you'll probably find the original Goosebumps fan club stuff a little more common,

[00:17:38] albeit expensive.

[00:17:40] This one, not only is it going to probably be harder to find,

[00:17:44] you're going to be paying a lot more for it.

[00:17:46] Oh, yeah.

[00:17:48] But definitely...

[00:17:50] I mean, just the fact that there's series 2000 merch in this fan club pack

[00:17:56] already makes it all the more rare.

[00:17:59] The box is amazing.

[00:18:00] That Cry of the Cat photo, it's just like...

[00:18:03] Aesthetically, this is the coolest of the boxes, man.

[00:18:07] Like, it's small, but just the image looks so cool.

[00:18:10] I love it.

[00:18:11] It looks like he's ripping...

[00:18:12] Because it looks like he's actually ripping through the...

[00:18:15] Rip.

[00:18:15] He's ripping through.

[00:18:18] Rip!

[00:18:19] Yay!

[00:18:19] He's ripping through!

[00:18:20] He's ripping through the box.

[00:18:23] It is really cool.

[00:18:24] And I think that's what they did there.

[00:18:26] Yeah, I love it so much.

[00:18:27] The design packaging for that one was far superior to the previous ones.

[00:18:31] I do like the coffin-shaped one.

[00:18:33] Yeah.

[00:18:34] But this one, like...

[00:18:35] Other than that, it was just pretty lackluster.

[00:18:37] But this one overall is really good.

[00:18:38] Like, if you receive that in the mail, like, you're going to be like,

[00:18:41] I really want to open that.

[00:18:43] Yeah.

[00:18:44] Yeah.

[00:18:44] I can only imagine getting that in the mail.

[00:18:46] I would have pooped myself.

[00:18:47] It would have been amazing.

[00:18:49] You would have shat your pants.

[00:18:51] Well, moving on.

[00:18:53] We're out of the fan clubs.

[00:18:54] I would have baby TV doll over that.

[00:18:56] Now we're in...

[00:18:56] This is...

[00:18:57] Collector's Club.

[00:18:59] So, this insert was not in the back of the book.

[00:19:02] This was in some of the later OG series books in the middle.

[00:19:07] This was for Keep the Thrills Coming every month and get eight Goosebumps gifts absolutely free.

[00:19:12] Join the new Goosebumps Collector's Club.

[00:19:14] So, this came with a bunch of other stuff.

[00:19:18] So, things like the bookends, the gallery arts, and just getting, like, free books with this collector's club.

[00:19:26] This was different from the fan club.

[00:19:29] But these inserts you would find in, like, werewolf skin and haunted school and I live in your basement in the middle.

[00:19:37] They were, like, really, really thick.

[00:19:38] You could feel them.

[00:19:41] So, this was pretty interesting.

[00:19:43] Not as cool stuff as the fan clubs, in my opinion.

[00:19:47] Because, you know, you're getting a lot more trinkets and stuff in the fan club.

[00:19:51] Here, it looks like you're just kind of getting a few things with some free books.

[00:19:55] But it was still pretty interesting.

[00:19:57] That card is rare, though.

[00:19:58] That little 3D card of curly and slappy.

[00:20:01] That's actually...

[00:20:02] People sell that for a lot for some reason.

[00:20:04] I don't know why.

[00:20:05] But it's always a expensive card in the top right.

[00:20:07] But...

[00:20:08] The membership card?

[00:20:10] It's, like, it's slappy and curly when you do this.

[00:20:13] Is it, like, holographic?

[00:20:14] So, it's a lenticular?

[00:20:17] Yeah.

[00:20:18] A lenticular card.

[00:20:19] Yeah.

[00:20:19] I got one from my cousin, so I didn't even have to try and source one.

[00:20:22] But, yeah, they're pretty expensive to find now.

[00:20:25] Now, this one, I don't think I've ever seen.

[00:20:29] This is the same collector's club, the same items.

[00:20:32] It's just a different format, different style.

[00:20:36] But it's the very same thing.

[00:20:38] I like the bookends, though.

[00:20:40] I still haven't even bought the bookends.

[00:20:42] I don't know why.

[00:20:42] I see them all the time.

[00:20:43] They're very common.

[00:20:44] They're everywhere.

[00:20:46] I'd love to get them.

[00:20:47] They are cool, though.

[00:20:48] This is the Goosebumps collector's club.

[00:20:49] This is in the UK prints of the original series.

[00:20:54] Still the same items, even the same books.

[00:20:58] But, obviously, in the UK.

[00:21:01] So.

[00:21:01] A little less things to get, dude.

[00:21:04] Now we're moving on to some merchandise.

[00:21:07] And the first one we got.

[00:21:09] I'm sure Bjorn's got it all ready to go.

[00:21:12] Oh, yeah, he does.

[00:21:13] So, this is the Goosebumps backpack.

[00:21:18] Be cool when you go back to that backpack.

[00:21:22] This is the, yeah.

[00:21:24] The original mail for that backpack from Scholastic.

[00:21:27] I have this still with the original.

[00:21:30] So, if you open it.

[00:21:32] First thing I'm going to show you is it actually came with this, which is really cool.

[00:21:36] This is like an original little thing that they threw in there.

[00:21:41] Telling you what you can get.

[00:21:44] So, there's books and stuff.

[00:21:46] And it even has like the little.

[00:21:48] So, this is what came inside that backpack mailer.

[00:21:51] I figured, well, when you got to that one, I'm going to pull it out.

[00:21:53] And then, one thing that you never see is that backpack still sealed.

[00:22:03] Nice.

[00:22:04] We see this on eBay all the time.

[00:22:06] This backpack.

[00:22:07] But, like, finding a sealed one.

[00:22:08] We used to have that one.

[00:22:10] That's sealed.

[00:22:11] So, that's the backpack you got in the back of the book.

[00:22:14] But mine has never been taken out of the wrapper.

[00:22:17] And it's still in the original shipment box with the newsletter for the fan club.

[00:22:22] So, they get a little bit of show and tell for that one.

[00:22:26] Yeah.

[00:22:26] No, it's really cool to see that.

[00:22:28] I didn't even know it came with an insert with all the upcoming stuff in there.

[00:22:33] And I was actually just reading, too.

[00:22:35] It says, to get your backpack, you have to send four proof of purchase, original series only, and a check.

[00:22:42] I'm wondering if you had to send, like, those little curly dollars at the bottom.

[00:22:45] If you can see those.

[00:22:47] Oh, yes.

[00:22:48] So, you had to send four curly dollars with your order form to get the backpack.

[00:22:54] That's pretty funny.

[00:22:57] I have found books that were used that have the mail-in offer for the backpack missing.

[00:23:05] So, it's like you would know who submitted in for that backpack back in the day.

[00:23:10] It was peak goosebumps time, too.

[00:23:12] I think this was, like, 95, 96.

[00:23:14] So, 95.

[00:23:16] So, this was when kids were ordering goosebumps stuff.

[00:23:18] So, a lot of people must have ordered this bag because you see it commonly all the time.

[00:23:22] But you don't see it with the original mailer with the inserts.

[00:23:26] And you don't find it sealed.

[00:23:28] Like, who bought one and just never took it out of the mailer, apparently?

[00:23:31] They just left it in there.

[00:23:32] So, it makes me wonder where that actually, yeah, where that came from.

[00:23:37] I just ordered it on.

[00:23:38] In a collector at the time.

[00:23:40] Yeah.

[00:23:41] Yes.

[00:23:41] Well, now we're moving on to this one for Goosebumps Games and Puzzles.

[00:23:46] All the thrills and chills you can imagine.

[00:23:48] This featured the Terror in the Graveyard board game, the Milton Bradley Goosebumps puzzles,

[00:23:54] the Shrieks and Spiders game, and the Goosebumps Storytelling Card Game.

[00:23:59] So, they were all Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers products, board games, puzzles, and whatnot.

[00:24:07] I do have only two of those puzzles.

[00:24:11] They're still, like, I don't know.

[00:24:13] I don't even know how many of them there are.

[00:24:15] There's, like, six or seven of them.

[00:24:18] I think so.

[00:24:19] Actually, just of the covers.

[00:24:22] And then they made a whole bunch of other ones, too.

[00:24:24] It's larger piece ones, too.

[00:24:26] Like, larger ones as well.

[00:24:28] There's actually a lot more that aren't even just Tim Jacobus ones.

[00:24:31] There's a lot of hundred-piece ones that are just the same rectangular shape, and they had, like, random ones.

[00:24:36] Like, they had one that was, like, they were trick-or-treating.

[00:24:39] There was one.

[00:24:39] There was actually some of the rarer ones.

[00:24:41] There's one where it's, like, literally them going down a roller coaster at Horrorland.

[00:24:45] And then there's one where they're, like, I think there's, like, snowboarding or something.

[00:24:50] And it's actually Beast from the East, which is snowboarding.

[00:24:53] So, that was really interesting.

[00:24:55] They did some very different artwork ones for those.

[00:25:00] But the most iconic ones, of course, are always the Tim's art ones.

[00:25:04] I mean...

[00:25:05] Yeah, I have Ghost Beach and Say Cheese and Die Again.

[00:25:08] And then I have the one of them trick-or-treating that you were talking about.

[00:25:11] So, I have that one.

[00:25:12] Where's your Night Living Demi 3 and your Ghost Camp and your Beast from the East one?

[00:25:18] But they did a lot of different ones in the UK.

[00:25:20] They had, like, Tales to Give You Goosebumps puzzles, which was interesting with, like, those covers.

[00:25:26] Now we're moving on to the first print advertisement in the back of a Goosebumps book for the Goosebumps TV show.

[00:25:34] Monster Proof Your Living Room.

[00:25:36] Watch Goosebumps on Fox TV this fall.

[00:25:38] It's the primetime TV premiere based on the classic Goosebumps number 11, The Haunted Mask.

[00:25:44] Read the book!

[00:25:45] Plus, look for the special TV edition of The Haunted Max in your bookstores this September.

[00:25:51] They were gonna do a TV book for The Haunted Mask.

[00:25:54] They never did.

[00:25:56] Or it was the one with the emboldened letters on there that came with the mask.

[00:26:01] Yeah, that's true.

[00:26:03] Yeah.

[00:26:06] It could have been the reprint with the mask, yeah.

[00:26:10] This is TV edition.

[00:26:11] TV book.

[00:26:12] It does say TV edition.

[00:26:14] That's weird.

[00:26:15] Maybe they were going to.

[00:26:17] See, that's the thing.

[00:26:18] Well, no, because we know for a fact, though, that was never on the table.

[00:26:24] Right?

[00:26:24] Because we talked to people and we've done the research on it.

[00:26:28] I mean, the only one that was supposed to come out that never got a release was The Blob,

[00:26:32] The Ate Everyone.

[00:26:33] And supposedly there's one of those out there, too.

[00:26:35] Maybe The Haunted Mask wasn't originally going to be done.

[00:26:39] And because this is early.

[00:26:40] This is like, this advertisement is promoting for later in the year.

[00:26:44] So it makes you think.

[00:26:46] Right.

[00:26:46] And it's this September as well, which was a month before the episode came out.

[00:26:50] So maybe there was going to be a tie-in book to the, that was the original plan.

[00:26:55] Because remember, there's a lot of Goose Meantle stuff that was like, oh yeah, this is coming.

[00:26:58] And it never did.

[00:26:59] So, I don't know.

[00:27:02] Maybe they were going to.

[00:27:04] Yeah.

[00:27:04] Like I said, it could have also just been that reprint version with the mask inside.

[00:27:08] But you never, you never know.

[00:27:10] Maybe they did.

[00:27:13] But then we got the advertisement for the video.

[00:27:17] Now your favorite books are on video.

[00:27:19] Don't miss the first episode.

[00:27:20] The Haunted Mask on video now.

[00:27:22] Includes special behind-the-scenes previews of upcoming Goosebumps episodes.

[00:27:26] Only $14.98 or less each.

[00:27:29] And a free bookmark inside every video.

[00:27:32] Behind-the-scenes preview.

[00:27:33] And if you haven't already, go watch our previous episodes where we talk to the cast of the Haunted Mask.

[00:27:38] Yeah, you're welcome.

[00:27:39] The behind-the-scenes preview must have been between the tower because it's the only one.

[00:27:42] Yeah, there was only the one for Night and Terror Tower.

[00:27:46] I'm assuming maybe they were hoping they were going to do more than just one.

[00:27:49] But we didn't get any.

[00:27:52] There's another thing they said they were doing, but they didn't.

[00:27:54] Yeah.

[00:27:55] Who knows?

[00:27:56] Back to back.

[00:27:58] Next up, we have a double here.

[00:28:00] The Terrorific Video Series based on your favorite books.

[00:28:04] The Haunted Mask.

[00:28:06] A Night and Terror Tower and Stay Out of the Basement.

[00:28:08] Now on video.

[00:28:10] Free 3D sticker in every video.

[00:28:12] Only $14.98 or less each.

[00:28:15] That's a beautiful...

[00:28:16] Something I wish they continued in all the other VHSs because they quit doing those after,

[00:28:20] I think, these two right here.

[00:28:23] No, I don't recall.

[00:28:25] I don't recall the other ones having lenticulars.

[00:28:28] Oh, the lenticulars.

[00:28:30] Yeah.

[00:28:30] No, we didn't get any after Stay Out of the Basement.

[00:28:34] Lenticulars.

[00:28:34] But we just got a random little...

[00:28:36] What was it in Dead House again?

[00:28:37] It was just a little card.

[00:28:39] Glow in the Dirt sticker.

[00:28:41] For dead.

[00:28:41] That's what we got.

[00:28:43] Yeah.

[00:28:43] This is a sticker.

[00:28:44] But see, the first...

[00:28:46] The Haunted Mask was a bookmark, but it was a lenticular.

[00:28:48] But it says these were cards, but they were stickers.

[00:28:51] I never took mine off if they were stickers.

[00:28:54] I always took them as cards.

[00:28:54] No, they are cards.

[00:28:55] The Terror Tower and Basement are cards.

[00:28:58] They're not stickers.

[00:29:00] Yeah.

[00:29:00] And yet, it does say, like, 3D sticker, which is weird.

[00:29:05] If they are stickers, I never took it off.

[00:29:07] Like, I always took them as being cards.

[00:29:09] So...

[00:29:09] Anybody out there ever who's watching this, comment below.

[00:29:13] Like, did you take those off?

[00:29:14] Are they actually stickers?

[00:29:15] I'm actually curious now.

[00:29:16] Like, well, and...

[00:29:18] I don't see them there were cards.

[00:29:19] Comment below if there are stickers inside of those videos.

[00:29:23] Let us know where we can find a picture of them.

[00:29:26] Because we'd like to see them.

[00:29:28] Right here, we have...

[00:29:29] Yeah, they'll say mine are sealed.

[00:29:30] I'm not opening them up.

[00:29:31] So...

[00:29:32] The print for...

[00:29:33] Welcome to Dead House.

[00:29:35] This is a very hard to see print right here.

[00:29:40] Because you can barely see the Dead House art on that video there.

[00:29:44] Just to show how dark that episode was.

[00:29:46] They were like, we're gonna make it dark on the adverts, too.

[00:29:49] So dark, you can't dark fall.

[00:29:51] You can't see it.

[00:29:52] Dark printing.

[00:29:54] Thanks to you, Nick.

[00:29:55] I have a sealed welcome to Dead House tape.

[00:29:57] And I'm still trying to find my sealed Australian copy.

[00:29:59] But for now, I'll take the sealed American one.

[00:30:03] And then we have one for Night of the Living Dummy 3.

[00:30:07] Enter the...

[00:30:08] On VHS.

[00:30:10] The Spine Taming video series on VHS based on your favorite books.

[00:30:15] On VHS.

[00:30:15] And then it says...

[00:30:16] I have 37 copies.

[00:30:18] Enter the Goosebumps sale with the Star Sweepstakes for a chance to win a cruise for four to Walt Disney World with R.L. Stine.

[00:30:24] Now, actually, funny enough, the actual commercial for that was in the end of Dead House.

[00:30:32] But they advertised it here with Night of the Living Dummy 3, which is odd.

[00:30:37] And then I also wonder who won this.

[00:30:39] Could you imagine if some kid won it and was like, is Slappy going, too?

[00:30:42] No?

[00:30:43] Well, I don't want to go.

[00:30:45] Or else Don will be there.

[00:30:46] I don't care.

[00:30:48] I want to see Slappy.

[00:30:49] Right down here, it says, watch the new Ultimate Goosebumps Saturday morning on Fox Kids.

[00:30:55] So this is...

[00:30:56] You imagine a kid like, I want to see Slappy.

[00:30:58] I don't watch the CD.

[00:31:00] Is it so weird?

[00:31:02] I don't know.

[00:31:02] I want to see Slappy.

[00:31:04] What's up, Bob?

[00:31:06] I don't know.

[00:31:06] Did this switch over to Little Nicky going on this cruise with R.L.

[00:31:09] It did sound like Little Nicky.

[00:31:12] I don't care about R.L. Stine.

[00:31:17] And then we got this one I really like.

[00:31:19] I want to wash my wooden winky in your kitchen sinky.

[00:31:22] We got Relive the Fright Night After Night.

[00:31:26] Goosebumps videos are the ultimate in scary fun.

[00:31:29] So we had Ultimate Goosebumps, Werewolf of Fever Swamp, One Day at Horrorland, and Bride

[00:31:35] of the Living Dummies Slash an Old Story.

[00:31:37] I still will never ever...

[00:31:38] That's a rare advertisement, man.

[00:31:41] That would be the rarest of all.

[00:31:42] Well, now available for $9.98 each.

[00:31:46] So these are actually less expensive.

[00:31:47] I would freaking kill to get Bride of the Living Dummy sealed for $9.98 right now.

[00:31:53] Well, these were...

[00:31:54] These were less expensive than the ones that came beforehand.

[00:31:59] Just the package cheaper.

[00:32:00] I think it's because they weren't in the clamshells and they didn't come with anything that I'm

[00:32:04] aware of.

[00:32:05] I don't think so.

[00:32:05] They cheaped out with Goosebumps.

[00:32:07] I think it was just the VHS.

[00:32:08] They did cheap out.

[00:32:10] Yeah.

[00:32:12] It's funny how they cheaped out.

[00:32:13] Yeah.

[00:32:14] Those are the most expensive ones.

[00:32:16] Yeah.

[00:32:16] It's like the series cheaped out itself, the budget, and they cheaped out on even the packaging.

[00:32:23] Like...

[00:32:23] Oh.

[00:32:23] The most expensive VHS is defined.

[00:32:26] Well, look at here.

[00:32:27] I literally...

[00:32:28] I think I saw like a werewolf skin go for like $200 plus sealed.

[00:32:32] That's insane.

[00:32:33] Oh, they're super expensive now.

[00:32:34] Especially for seals.

[00:32:35] Yeah, it's crazy.

[00:32:36] I don't know.

[00:32:37] Yeah.

[00:32:37] I'm happy to just have any sealed of like the first one.

[00:32:41] Maybe because they were more printed.

[00:32:42] But you can find like a dead house sealed for like $50 or $60 probably.

[00:32:49] But man, you get into these ultimate tapes though and try to find those sealed.

[00:32:54] Although One Day at Horrorland was pretty like everywhere.

[00:33:00] I think Horrorland is the most common of the cheapest to find.

[00:33:03] Yeah.

[00:33:04] I have to agree.

[00:33:05] Like when I do my searches for Bride, I see Horrorland quite often.

[00:33:08] It's rare when I see a werewolf skin.

[00:33:10] And if I find Bride, it's always open.

[00:33:12] Well, if you take a look at this advertisement here.

[00:33:14] It's for the same videos.

[00:33:15] There's two things about these tapes here.

[00:33:18] The Horrorland in the middle.

[00:33:20] So the actual tape says One Day at Horrorland parts one and two.

[00:33:23] This tape, it just says One Day at Horrorland.

[00:33:26] And actually right here, it says Bride of the Living Dummy.

[00:33:30] And it says just Bride of the Living Dummy on the sleeve.

[00:33:33] It doesn't mention Old Story.

[00:33:36] Oh.

[00:33:37] That would have been so crap.

[00:33:39] It's like 20 minutes.

[00:33:40] They'd be like a 25 minute take.

[00:33:41] I just wish they put a different episode on there.

[00:33:45] That's all I would say.

[00:33:47] Don't knock Old Story.

[00:33:48] It's hilarious.

[00:33:50] You know what they should have done for you guys in America?

[00:33:52] So like obviously we got Night at the Living Dummy 2 and 3 on our tape.

[00:33:55] They should have put Night at the Living Dummy 2 with Bride to the two 20 minute episodes together.

[00:34:01] And then you would have had all three.

[00:34:02] I don't understand why.

[00:34:04] Ultimate slappy VHS.

[00:34:06] It would have been like, yeah, they could have put 2 and Bride on there.

[00:34:09] Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

[00:34:11] They could have even put Bride first.

[00:34:14] So like it's your headlining, you know, episode.

[00:34:17] But yeah, just keep it slappy related at least.

[00:34:20] Yeah.

[00:34:21] But they're also going for season 3.

[00:34:23] So like they had, I think they had to stay in season 3.

[00:34:27] Yeah.

[00:34:28] So who knows?

[00:34:29] It would have been, it would have been, but ask us fans.

[00:34:31] We would have.

[00:34:33] We got the ad for the Attack of the Mutant PC game.

[00:34:38] Play if you dare, mortal.

[00:34:40] Discover the Masked Mutant's evil plan to take over the world and it's up to you to stop him.

[00:34:46] An army of evil henchmen and a hideout full of mazes and traps will keep you on the edge of your seat.

[00:34:54] Foil is plan and save the world if you can.

[00:34:56] Goosebumps.

[00:34:57] Attack of the Mutant.

[00:34:59] Oh my god.

[00:34:59] And I recently saw a guy review the games and he even said like how the Horrorland one was fun and everything.

[00:35:06] But he's like, the Attack of the Mutant game was like terrible.

[00:35:08] And I'm like, sorry, Attack Baby TV.

[00:35:10] It was terrible.

[00:35:11] It was terrible.

[00:35:13] Here we have one that's not terrible.

[00:35:15] It's an ad for Escape from Horrorland one.

[00:35:18] It's Here, Goosebumps, the CD-ROM game where you dodge mutants, weirdos, and creatures that drool just like the hallways at school.

[00:35:25] Goosebumps, Escape from Horrorland.

[00:35:27] Available at your local software store.

[00:35:30] The most iconic Goosebumps game.

[00:35:32] Hands down.

[00:35:33] It's the one that had the most effort put into it.

[00:35:36] You had Steven Spielberg direct.

[00:35:38] Yeah, for sure.

[00:35:39] DreamWorks, Jeff Goldblum.

[00:35:41] Yeah, that was great.

[00:35:43] Attack of the Mutant.

[00:35:44] And then Jack.

[00:35:45] And then Adam West.

[00:35:46] But that was about it.

[00:35:49] Sorry.

[00:35:50] Sorry, Zach Baby TV, but that game was sick.

[00:35:53] Now we're moving on to the Goosebumps postcard book.

[00:35:57] Need to send a creepy card?

[00:35:59] Boo, dudes.

[00:36:00] Get ready for a collection of the coolest cards you've ever seen.

[00:36:03] I have 30 postcards in my all-new Goosebumps postcard book.

[00:36:06] And each one has a different Goosebumps cover on the front.

[00:36:09] Collect them, swap them, or send them to your favorite monster.

[00:36:12] Yours, Ghoulie, Curly.

[00:36:14] I love that they've used the Stay of the Basement hand for that.

[00:36:17] I do.

[00:36:18] I love whenever that hand makes an appearance.

[00:36:21] Yeah.

[00:36:22] It just made sense.

[00:36:23] And then we got Curly's hand now.

[00:36:24] Yeah.

[00:36:25] I was going to say, and then they swapped it out for Curly's boring hand.

[00:36:29] That's a boring hand compared to the other one.

[00:36:31] I'm sorry, Curly.

[00:36:32] I love it.

[00:36:34] That's just a...

[00:36:35] That's just like a...

[00:36:37] Goosebumps fans, don't write this one off.

[00:36:39] The Boney.

[00:36:40] Dude, more greetings from the world of Goosebumps.

[00:36:42] I've got a brand new collection of 30 totally terrifying cards in the Goosebumps postcard book, too.

[00:36:47] With a different scary Goosebumps cover on the front of each one.

[00:36:51] Collect them, swap them, or send them to your favorite monster.

[00:36:53] Yours, Ghoulie, Curly.

[00:36:54] That postcard book is so freaking rare, too.

[00:36:58] Like, what the hell, man?

[00:36:59] Like, that one is just impossible to find compared to the first one.

[00:37:03] Like, I spent, like, over $100 to get that when I first bought it.

[00:37:06] Yeah, you can find the first one pretty commonly.

[00:37:09] But the second one?

[00:37:11] Yeah.

[00:37:12] I found so many of them in the wild of that first one.

[00:37:15] Like, that's commonly found.

[00:37:17] And then postcard book, too.

[00:37:18] It's like, you got to order it.

[00:37:20] And I remember when I ordered it, I, like, messaged the seller being like,

[00:37:22] now is every postcard in there?

[00:37:26] Like, they're like, yes.

[00:37:28] It just shows up and, like, the entire inside is missing.

[00:37:32] It's just the front and back cover.

[00:37:34] I would have killed someone.

[00:37:35] But that's another one that they did over in the, I think, Italy.

[00:37:39] Yeah, pick a lot.

[00:37:40] But they did one in Italy for the postcard book.

[00:37:42] And it has actually different postcards in it.

[00:37:44] Like, some are the same, but some are different.

[00:37:46] There's a lot more tales to give you ones in there, which was interesting.

[00:37:49] They chose a lot of them over in Italy for a lot of the posters and calendars and stuff.

[00:37:56] Right here we have the ad for it came from Ohio.

[00:37:59] My life as a writer, the R.L Stein autobiography.

[00:38:03] You asked for it.

[00:38:05] And then it says, there's a quote from the book.

[00:38:08] When I was four, it was my job to let our dog Whitey out of the garage every morning.

[00:38:12] As soon as I stepped outside, I could hear him scratching at the door, barking and crying.

[00:38:16] He would leap up on me and knock me down to the driveway.

[00:38:20] Every morning.

[00:38:20] Down, Whitey, down.

[00:38:21] I begged.

[00:38:22] Thugged.

[00:38:23] Whitey was a good dog, but I think he helped give me my scary view of life.

[00:38:27] What was your favorite author, R.L.

[00:38:29] Stein, like as a kid?

[00:38:30] How did he start writing books?

[00:38:32] Where does he get his scary ideas from?

[00:38:34] Find out all about R.L.

[00:38:36] Stein and his funny biography, written in his own voice, includes lots of never-before-seen

[00:38:40] photos and drawings from R.L.

[00:38:42] Stein's personal collection.

[00:38:46] That's cool.

[00:38:47] I like it.

[00:38:48] It has a very iconic cover.

[00:38:50] It does.

[00:38:50] It's a shame.

[00:38:51] It just has all the monsters.

[00:38:53] All there.

[00:38:55] And then we have another one.

[00:38:56] There it is.

[00:38:57] This was when they were advertising the paperback version.

[00:39:01] Basically the same ad, except it features the cover art.

[00:39:04] Very nice.

[00:39:05] Only $3.99.

[00:39:06] All for the paperback.

[00:39:08] Yeah, for the paperback.

[00:39:09] This one is for the Goosebumps triple header.

[00:39:12] Three monsters, one box.

[00:39:14] Three stories, one book.

[00:39:16] And then it shows off.

[00:39:17] This is Lefty.

[00:39:19] He's cruising for scares or something worse.

[00:39:22] This is Slim.

[00:39:23] Don't think for a minute you can get away from him.

[00:39:27] This is Righty.

[00:39:28] But he's here to tell you that something is definitely wrong.

[00:39:34] You know, it's a shame we never got triple header three, because it's called Triple.

[00:39:39] Yeah, we're going to have the triple book series.

[00:39:43] Yeah.

[00:39:44] Not meant to be.

[00:39:45] There was supposed to be one, but they got canceled.

[00:39:48] It's a shame.

[00:39:48] Then this was for the second one.

[00:39:50] Lefty, Righty, and Slim are back with three new stories that will scare you silly.

[00:39:54] The Revenge, The Mummy With My Face, and Ghoul School.

[00:39:58] Cool holographic cover.

[00:40:00] Ooh, Ghoul School.

[00:40:02] Here we have the Goosebumps Monster Blood Pack.

[00:40:05] More monster blood?

[00:40:06] That's what you asked for.

[00:40:08] I don't think anyone asked for that, but regardless.

[00:40:11] So now you can get a triple dose of your favorite slime in a totally cool Goosebumps pack.

[00:40:17] Includes copies of all the Monster Blood books packaged in a special Goosebumps slipcase with your own personal container of the gross green stuff.

[00:40:25] That shit's dried up.

[00:40:27] I'll tell you now.

[00:40:28] I would love to know.

[00:40:29] Oh yeah, it's dried up to shit.

[00:40:31] I'd love to know who handled all the sales data so we could actually see how many copies of Monster Blood sold compared to other books.

[00:40:46] Why it garnered three sequels in the original 62.

[00:40:51] Why it got a triple pack.

[00:40:54] Why it had so much merch.

[00:40:56] It sucked.

[00:40:58] I don't care who out there has that I love Monster Blood feel.

[00:41:03] Tim's covers were great.

[00:41:05] Don't get me wrong.

[00:41:05] The books themselves were terrible in my opinion.

[00:41:08] How did it get so much merch?

[00:41:12] And who wrote this?

[00:41:13] Who wrote this?

[00:41:14] That's what you asked for.

[00:41:15] I call bullshit.

[00:41:17] I don't know.

[00:41:18] I don't want to ask for more of that.

[00:41:22] They should have waited until 1997 because then they could have had all four Monster Bloods in a fucking pack and they could have had blue slime.

[00:41:29] I don't know.

[00:41:30] Right?

[00:41:30] Yeah.

[00:41:31] Missed opportunity.

[00:41:32] I can't believe they didn't capitalize on.

[00:41:34] Hey, you asked for it.

[00:41:36] Well, here's the Monster Blood four pack, which has all four books.

[00:41:40] It's blue.

[00:41:42] It's blue.

[00:41:43] So that makes it.

[00:41:44] I suppose they didn't do that, actually.

[00:41:46] Because Goosebumps was still popular in 97.

[00:41:49] Like, yeah, it dropped off a bit.

[00:41:50] Yeah, it was starting to decline at that point, but it was still popular.

[00:41:55] They could have done that.

[00:41:56] It's three screams in one.

[00:41:58] Goosebumps Monster Edition.

[00:42:00] A special hardcover collection of three classic Goosebumps books.

[00:42:04] Welcome to Dead House.

[00:42:05] Stay out of the basement.

[00:42:06] And say cheese and die.

[00:42:08] Open the book.

[00:42:08] And it screams.

[00:42:10] Featuring us.

[00:42:11] I love the Monster Editions, man.

[00:42:12] Mm-hmm.

[00:42:13] They're so cool.

[00:42:14] Well, the first one, it has that screaming sound chip when you open the book.

[00:42:18] I haven't found a book of which that works anymore, unfortunately.

[00:42:23] I have one.

[00:42:24] I have one.

[00:42:24] And it screams distortedly, though.

[00:42:26] It's like...

[00:42:27] Yeah.

[00:42:28] So you open it.

[00:42:29] It's very distorted, I bet.

[00:42:30] Yeah.

[00:42:30] Yeah.

[00:42:31] Or somebody ripped off the covering of it or exposed all the insides of the sound chip.

[00:42:39] I hate that.

[00:42:40] They're like, I want to change the battery.

[00:42:42] You can't.

[00:42:44] It's dead.

[00:42:45] You have to rip it off.

[00:42:47] It's dead.

[00:42:49] Well, that was...

[00:42:50] Open it up.

[00:42:51] This one's like probably the most iconic one, I think.

[00:42:54] Mm-hmm.

[00:42:55] Yeah, I think so.

[00:42:56] Bro.

[00:42:57] It's every dummy's dream.

[00:42:59] Slappy's eyes really light up.

[00:43:01] Three books in one.

[00:43:02] Surprise!

[00:43:03] An awesome cover with flashing lights.

[00:43:05] Get three of your all-time favorite stories, Night of the Living Dummy 1, 2, and 3, together

[00:43:10] in one hardcover book that lights up when you open it.

[00:43:13] Well, it doesn't...

[00:43:14] When you open it, you have to press the button to light it up.

[00:43:18] But nonetheless, Goosebumps Monster Edition 2.

[00:43:21] That's the only one that you will find maybe work when you find it.

[00:43:27] Like, that's the most common one that still works.

[00:43:29] Because I have three that still light up.

[00:43:31] It's still kind of iffy, though.

[00:43:33] Because either it's faint light or the lights don't actually match up with the eyes, the eye holes.

[00:43:41] Oh, yeah, it happens.

[00:43:42] So they'll be like off to the right a little bit.

[00:43:45] I have found that.

[00:43:47] You know, one thing I would like to do at some point is I need to look at, like, every version of Slappy Tim did.

[00:43:55] Because they all seem different.

[00:43:57] You know what I mean?

[00:43:57] Like, the first one's so iconic and looks really good.

[00:44:00] But he does slight differences to Slappy every book.

[00:44:03] That's what I'm saying.

[00:44:04] Up to the point where, like, Slappy's Nightmare...

[00:44:06] Like, I don't personally like that look on the cover.

[00:44:09] Like, it's one of my least favorite Tim arts, if I had to say.

[00:44:13] But...

[00:44:14] Slappy went through slight design changes every single time Tim drew him.

[00:44:21] Like, even between, like, Living Dummy 1 and 2 and 3, there's, like, slight differences in, like, maybe the head shape or, like, the lankiness of his body and stuff like that.

[00:44:32] And then when you got to...

[00:44:33] It was never consistently the same.

[00:44:35] I'm just now noticing that for some reason.

[00:44:37] Well, and then when you got to Series 2000, he started drawing him always with the super, like, hanging mouth.

[00:44:46] Which I personally liked.

[00:44:48] I liked it whenever he has, like, the mouth just hanging open like that.

[00:44:53] Yeah.

[00:44:53] Which he did, I think, on every one.

[00:44:55] But it's just the...

[00:44:56] The one that got me with, especially Slappy's Nightmare, like, how elongated it was.

[00:45:02] It was like a funhouse mirror.

[00:45:04] Or, like, it was just, like, too long of a face and mouth open.

[00:45:09] And I think that's what throws me off to it.

[00:45:11] It's a hit and miss because it's, like, it's such an iconic one now for some reason.

[00:45:15] But also, like, it is different.

[00:45:17] But I love the cover of Bride.

[00:45:19] I think Slappy looks great on that one.

[00:45:21] Yeah, I like that one.

[00:45:23] Nightmare 2.

[00:45:24] 1, 2, 3, and Bride.

[00:45:25] I guess I would say, like, Nightmare's probably my least favorite.

[00:45:29] It just, I don't know.

[00:45:29] Something's off with it.

[00:45:30] Well, then you also have, like, all the different arts he was doing for promotional stuff.

[00:45:34] Like, the live on stage and the...

[00:45:36] Yeah.

[00:45:37] You know, the...

[00:45:38] Which was more looking like those Slappy's Nightmare version.

[00:45:42] Like, it was a very elongated face and mouth.

[00:45:46] On live.

[00:45:46] He did a little bit.

[00:45:47] That was kind of consistent at that point, I guess.

[00:45:49] I really like that Monster Edition one.

[00:45:51] I think that's a cool...

[00:45:53] So, right here we have...

[00:45:54] Actually, BooDoodIt'sCurly just showed on his Instagram today.

[00:45:59] I don't know if you guys saw it.

[00:46:00] I mean, I've seen it before.

[00:46:01] But, like, he has an actual painting that Tim did for live on stage.

[00:46:06] Like, it's painted.

[00:46:07] It's one he did for it.

[00:46:08] It's framed and it looks beautiful.

[00:46:11] Yeah.

[00:46:12] Yeah, he's got the painting.

[00:46:14] And he's like, if I ever sell it, he's like, I'm the first one to know.

[00:46:17] And I was like, you better.

[00:46:18] But you're in trouble.

[00:46:19] Yeah.

[00:46:20] It's a killer piece.

[00:46:22] And he's got, like, the program and all sorts of stuff to go with.

[00:46:25] I mean, he's got a lot of really good stuff.

[00:46:28] But that...

[00:46:30] Specifically, he posted today, ironically enough.

[00:46:32] He's slowly selling it, though.

[00:46:33] I've noticed he's slowly selling things.

[00:46:35] Yeah.

[00:46:37] He's slowly selling...

[00:46:38] But he's got a lot.

[00:46:39] So, I mean...

[00:46:40] And he's got stuff he said he'd probably never sell in his life.

[00:46:42] But I understand.

[00:46:44] I mean, we all go through stuff where we swap out collections and, you know, change things up a bit, you know, so it's not as stale.

[00:46:50] Except for Bjorn, who keeps everything and has got, like, a house dedicated to it.

[00:46:54] But, you know.

[00:46:55] The rare curse.

[00:46:57] The H&M.

[00:46:58] That's just the way...

[00:46:59] That's right.

[00:47:00] Sometimes you just gotta let certain things go.

[00:47:03] But...

[00:47:03] Anyway.

[00:47:04] Moving on.

[00:47:05] We have the Goosebumps Frightlight Edition.

[00:47:08] It's lights out at camp.

[00:47:09] But don't...

[00:47:10] That's my favorite.

[00:47:12] This one is the one with the three camp stories.

[00:47:15] Camp Nightmare, Camp Jelly Jam, and Ghost Camp.

[00:47:18] Three stories and a book light that came on the top.

[00:47:22] My favorite of the four.

[00:47:23] And I will say, this one was...

[00:47:24] This one, like the other one, trying to find one with just the light in it, is super hard around here in America.

[00:47:30] My only copy...

[00:47:31] Super freaking hard.

[00:47:32] Has the light ripped off.

[00:47:33] You get it, dude.

[00:47:33] You got it.

[00:47:34] And thanks to Bjorn, I have one.

[00:47:37] But, like, I couldn't for the life of me on eBay, in stores, nowhere.

[00:47:42] I could not find one without the light out of it.

[00:47:44] Like, it's just gone.

[00:47:45] And I'm like, I don't want it without the light.

[00:47:47] That's what makes it special.

[00:47:50] Like, it's a camp book story with the light.

[00:47:53] That's what you want.

[00:47:54] That's something you could easily just pick out.

[00:47:56] Like, people had to rip it out of the book.

[00:47:59] You had to rip that bitch out.

[00:48:00] Yeah.

[00:48:01] Exactly.

[00:48:01] Maybe kids in Australia just decided not to rip them out.

[00:48:04] I don't know.

[00:48:05] Because that's where I found them all.

[00:48:07] Here we have monsters here in America.

[00:48:10] I guess they were just rough with them and ripped that crap out.

[00:48:13] This design for the ads came with, like, 1997 and 8.

[00:48:19] This was for the third monster edition.

[00:48:21] Ghost Next Door, Ghost Beach, Barking Ghost.

[00:48:23] Put three favorite ghostly Goosebumps books together, and you get one awesome hardcover book.

[00:48:30] It was almost a perfect set until the Barking Ghost.

[00:48:33] Comes with a totally weird wailing sound chip.

[00:48:36] It's the same one as the first book.

[00:48:38] It's the same.

[00:48:40] What would we have replaced the Barking Ghost with?

[00:48:44] Honestly, like, even this Ghost Beach story isn't that great.

[00:48:49] It's okay.

[00:48:50] But, I mean, it is better than Barking Ghost.

[00:48:52] Ghost?

[00:48:52] Did you say Ghost?

[00:48:54] Oh, yeah.

[00:48:55] I would have put Headless Ghost.

[00:48:57] If I was replacing the Barking Ghost with another ghost story, was there another ghost story in the OG 62?

[00:49:02] Yeah, Headless Ghost.

[00:49:04] Up to this point.

[00:49:06] I'm surprised.

[00:49:06] Well, yeah, no, that was a good one.

[00:49:07] I do like that one.

[00:49:08] Yeah.

[00:49:09] It was 1987.

[00:49:10] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:49:11] Headless Ghost was out by this point.

[00:49:13] Okay.

[00:49:14] I was going to say, I don't know.

[00:49:15] I'd have to look and see when this was out.

[00:49:16] But since I had number 32, it would have for sure been out by then.

[00:49:21] Next up, we got the Ghost Light 2.

[00:49:25] Book and Light 2.

[00:49:27] No, there is no Book and Light 2.

[00:49:29] That was another thing that didn't happen.

[00:49:30] I was going to say.

[00:49:31] Oh, it says, you love the first Chilling Goosebumps book and light set.

[00:49:35] Now there's an all-new pack, including more tales to give you goosebumps.

[00:49:39] Oh, so this was for tales to give you goosebumps.

[00:49:42] A collection of 10 creepy summertime stories, plus a handy clip-on book light.

[00:49:47] Perfect for sleepovers, campouts, or any time.

[00:49:49] Oh, it's the set.

[00:49:52] Exactly, yeah.

[00:49:53] That's what I'm saying.

[00:49:55] It's the set for more tales to give you goosebumps.

[00:49:59] That makes sense.

[00:50:00] Okay.

[00:50:01] But they didn't say more tales to give you goosebumps,

[00:50:03] so that's what was throwing me off for a second there.

[00:50:07] Yeah, I was like, Book and Light 2.

[00:50:08] I was like, dude, they didn't do that.

[00:50:09] Yeah, but as you read it, yeah, no, that makes sense.

[00:50:12] So, and here we have the next one for tales to give you goosebumps.

[00:50:16] What can be better than 10 new goosebumps stories,

[00:50:19] 10 new stories, and awesome curly boxer shorts?

[00:50:23] You'll have the answers, plus your own curly boxer shorts,

[00:50:26] when you get even more tales to give you goosebumps book and boxer shorts pack.

[00:50:31] What size were those bitches?

[00:50:33] I don't know.

[00:50:35] Like, I was actually carrying this myself.

[00:50:38] Hold on.

[00:50:39] Did they literally release them and say you could pick a side?

[00:50:41] Oh, no, it says, well, it says one size fits all,

[00:50:44] but I find that hard to believe.

[00:50:46] Yeah, man.

[00:50:47] One pair of glow-in-the-dark, 100% cotton boxer shorts.

[00:50:51] Oh, nice.

[00:50:53] Nice.

[00:50:54] One size fits all.

[00:50:56] One size fits all.

[00:50:57] That's it, boy.

[00:50:58] Well, here we have the ghoulest Halloween costume this Halloween.

[00:51:05] What does it say?

[00:51:06] It says, celebrate the most ghoulish day of the year with 10 all-new scary Halloween stories

[00:51:12] and gruesome goosebump stuff.

[00:51:14] Fake vampire blood, plastic vampire fangs, totally fake skin, and much more in the goosebump book and Halloween costume accessories pack.

[00:51:24] So this is the one that came with Stillmore Tales, the Halloween one.

[00:51:29] Yeah.

[00:51:30] And then we have the Goosebumps book and cap pack.

[00:51:34] This was with more and more tales, and it came with a cool cap.

[00:51:39] Dude, I see hundreds of those hats.

[00:51:41] They must have sold a lot of them.

[00:51:44] Mm-hmm.

[00:51:44] I see so many of those hats.

[00:51:46] I have, like, four of them, and I sold three and traded to three.

[00:51:51] Like, I ended up with, like, over ten of them.

[00:51:54] And then, dang, they made three different versions of this.

[00:51:59] You don't need to see all three.

[00:52:01] They're all the same, slightly different color.

[00:52:03] Yeah, literally none of them changed except for the print color.

[00:52:06] It's just weird that they would make three of them.

[00:52:08] Weird.

[00:52:09] It's the season to be creepy.

[00:52:12] Goosebumps book and stocking pack.

[00:52:14] Make your holidays deep.

[00:52:16] That one's rare.

[00:52:17] With ten scary books and more and more and more tales,

[00:52:20] it can be Goosebumps.

[00:52:21] The pack comes with a shocking stocking to hang by the chimney with fear.

[00:52:27] Oh, that's the rare one, too.

[00:52:29] The rare one.

[00:52:30] That's very rare.

[00:52:31] When I see, like, one get posted up, like, Goosebumps Guru had one,

[00:52:34] or maybe still has it, I'm not really sure.

[00:52:36] Man, I think it was, like, $300.

[00:52:38] I was, like, man.

[00:52:39] It's, like, I want to complete, I want to complete, like, these sets.

[00:52:44] For the tails to give you Goosebumps stuff, but they are so expensive.

[00:52:48] Especially that one.

[00:52:50] Well, this one doesn't even have the bottom part where it says it comes with a stocking.

[00:52:54] It still says book and stocking pack.

[00:52:57] But it doesn't even say it.

[00:53:00] Anyway, moving on.

[00:53:01] A collection of scares you don't want to miss.

[00:53:04] Available for the first time in an awesome redesigned cover.

[00:53:07] More tales to give you Goosebumps.

[00:53:09] So this is for the reprint of that.

[00:53:13] Reprint of even more tales.

[00:53:16] All right.

[00:53:17] Here, we're moving on to book advertisements now.

[00:53:21] So this was starting in Werewolf of Fever Swamp.

[00:53:25] With Goosebumps.

[00:53:26] They started advertising the next book in every Goosebumps book, starting with number 14.

[00:53:32] This one was for You Can't Scare Me, Start the Year with Goosebumps.

[00:53:37] Now, I won't spend too much time on these because there's one for every book in the original series,

[00:53:41] plus all the spin-offs.

[00:53:44] Just flick, Mario.

[00:53:45] Just flick.

[00:53:46] Like a toy story.

[00:53:50] So here we have Why I'm Afraid of Bees.

[00:53:54] And it says, Gary was just an ordinary guy.

[00:53:56] Speak to the chicken-chicken one.

[00:53:58] Now he's a human bee.

[00:54:00] Oh, look at it.

[00:54:00] He got a big zap.

[00:54:02] Zap, zap, zap.

[00:54:04] Right in the middle.

[00:54:06] Then we got this one for Monster Blood 2.

[00:54:08] It's green.

[00:54:09] It's slimy.

[00:54:10] It's growing.

[00:54:10] And it's swallowing everything in its path.

[00:54:12] It's Monster Blood 2.

[00:54:14] It's my ex.

[00:54:16] Oh, sorry.

[00:54:16] In a little bookstore near you.

[00:54:17] I love the oozing at the bottom there.

[00:54:21] I don't know.

[00:54:22] I think my title's better.

[00:54:24] Go eat worms.

[00:54:26] Ghostbeet.

[00:54:27] This one is slimy.

[00:54:27] It's growing.

[00:54:29] It's eating everything inside.

[00:54:30] It's my ex.

[00:54:33] This one's for Ghost Beach.

[00:54:36] Very different design.

[00:54:37] Almost looks like a tombstone that's all slimy in a sense.

[00:54:42] Oh, okay.

[00:54:42] Is that what that was supposed to be?

[00:54:43] Like, at the bottom, I was like, what the hell is it?

[00:54:45] It looks like a whole bunch of people, like, in a movie theater.

[00:54:48] Like, can you see those?

[00:54:49] It kind of does.

[00:54:50] It looks like little silhouettes of people.

[00:54:52] Like, a little silhouettes of people.

[00:54:53] But some of them are just sitting there going like this or something.

[00:54:55] You know?

[00:54:55] It's like...

[00:54:56] It looks like it could be people.

[00:54:59] Then we have...

[00:55:01] Oh, it wasn't the one.

[00:55:02] Return of the Mummy.

[00:55:03] Right over here, it says,

[00:55:04] The sequel to Curse of the Mummy's Tomb.

[00:55:07] That was better.

[00:55:10] We got...

[00:55:12] They get pretty cool covers.

[00:55:13] They're pretty epic, though.

[00:55:15] Oh, here we got...

[00:55:18] Cuckoo Clock of Doom.

[00:55:20] In...

[00:55:20] Oh, cool.

[00:55:21] Didn't say it right.

[00:55:24] And this one is formatted in this...

[00:55:27] Looney Tunes looking way.

[00:55:29] And then after that...

[00:55:31] I'm going to be cute.

[00:55:33] I'm going to be cute.

[00:55:34] He missed Rocking Ghost and Jelly Jam.

[00:55:37] I'm Jelly Jam.

[00:55:38] Meet the Mad Mangler.

[00:55:40] Now, this is shocking.

[00:55:42] What the Mad Mangler?

[00:55:44] Oh, my God.

[00:55:46] Haunted Nest 2.

[00:55:48] My name is the bedroom.

[00:55:49] I'm in Pasadena.

[00:55:52] I got my shrunken head.

[00:55:54] It's ugly.

[00:55:54] That's Bjorn's name in the bedroom.

[00:55:56] How I got my shrunken head.

[00:55:58] But a sequel to...

[00:56:00] Two of your favorite Shackers.

[00:56:03] That is true.

[00:56:06] So, like I said, after this point, they got pretty...

[00:56:09] Really cut and paste.

[00:56:13] They're all the same.

[00:56:14] You read one, that's like...

[00:56:15] You read them all.

[00:56:17] Well, here we go.

[00:56:18] There's a chicken chicken.

[00:56:19] There we go.

[00:56:19] Talk about real bad...

[00:56:21] What the fuck are you doing?

[00:56:22] Bad fuck.

[00:56:25] Let's read this one.

[00:56:26] There's a mysterious lady in Goshen Falls.

[00:56:28] Oh.

[00:56:29] Oh.

[00:56:29] Crystal and her brother Cole believe she can cast evil spells.

[00:56:33] When they accidentally knock her over, they hear her whisper, chicken, chicken.

[00:56:36] Now Crystal and Cole are growing feathers and starting to cluck in class.

[00:56:41] Will they be able to reverse their chicken spell?

[00:56:44] If so, will they ever be able to eat fried chicken again?

[00:56:47] Oh, why did they not make a TV episode of that?

[00:56:51] Oh, fuck.

[00:56:52] I want to see that.

[00:56:53] Could you imagine them in class going...

[00:56:56] That would be really funny.

[00:56:57] Fuck off.

[00:56:58] I feel like they could have done that.

[00:57:00] They could have made it.

[00:57:01] One of the later, like season three, four episodes too.

[00:57:04] Like one of the really bad...

[00:57:05] Definitely could have done it.

[00:57:05] Oh my God.

[00:57:07] Yeah.

[00:57:08] Replace some of those...

[00:57:09] Like replace teacher's pet with that or something.

[00:57:11] I would rather have chicken chicken.

[00:57:12] Yeah.

[00:57:13] Or chicken chicken episode.

[00:57:15] So here we had, as I said before, they started in the later books using this sort of design

[00:57:19] for the advertisements.

[00:57:21] And here, I guess they were trying to just knock, you know, not use as many pages.

[00:57:26] So they advertise...

[00:57:28] Yeah, I guess so.

[00:57:28] My best friend's invisible.

[00:57:30] Escape from camp.

[00:57:31] Run for your life.

[00:57:32] Which was...

[00:57:33] Give yourself goosebumps 19.

[00:57:35] And you can't scare me.

[00:57:36] The 14th TV presents book.

[00:57:38] Only $3.99 each.

[00:57:41] I wish.

[00:57:43] Only.

[00:57:43] Yeah.

[00:57:44] That's what I'm saying.

[00:57:44] If only.

[00:57:45] They also list the pages down here.

[00:57:47] Did you see that?

[00:57:48] 144 pages for...

[00:57:50] Yes.

[00:57:52] And camp run for your life.

[00:57:53] And then 64.

[00:57:55] That's interesting that they even listed the page.

[00:57:58] Available wherever you get goosebumps.

[00:58:00] Yawning for a scare next month.

[00:58:03] Oh, can we make our own chicken chicken episode?

[00:58:05] Like, I'm just thinking about it now.

[00:58:07] I just...

[00:58:07] I imagine them sitting there and the teacher's like...

[00:58:10] Will you pay attention?

[00:58:10] They're like...

[00:58:11] Oh, sorry.

[00:58:12] Stop.

[00:58:14] Once we get Horrorland up, we could do like a...

[00:58:18] We could crowdfund that.

[00:58:20] Independent film festival there.

[00:58:23] And the subject topic, though, has to be chicken chicken.

[00:58:27] So we get multiple entries from people who make a fan-made chicken chicken film.

[00:58:33] And that'd be great.

[00:58:34] And we judge which one is the best.

[00:58:37] We'll even hire Alan to set as the prop skip master.

[00:58:39] We'll be like, we'll get you back.

[00:58:41] You're back.

[00:58:42] Alan, we're doing chicken chicken.

[00:58:44] We need you, brother.

[00:58:45] We'll hear for this one.

[00:58:46] We got...

[00:58:47] I'll call Ron.

[00:58:47] I'll call Ron Steffen.

[00:58:48] Hey, man.

[00:58:50] We need a giant chicken costume, bro.

[00:58:52] Three for doing chicken things.

[00:58:55] R.L. Stine's going to do the introduction to this episode.

[00:58:57] Like, it's got to feel like it's a special one.

[00:59:00] Hello.

[00:59:01] I'm R.L. Stine.

[00:59:02] I'd write the Goosebumps books.

[00:59:04] That'd be stupid.

[00:59:06] And today...

[00:59:07] Oh, we got to get Arjun.

[00:59:09] It's just R.L. Stine being like a chicken dog, like Molly's talking.

[00:59:17] Here we got Deep Trouble, Monster Blood, TV Presents, and Toy Terror Batteries included.

[00:59:24] And then here we have...

[00:59:26] Oh, we just have Haunted School and Twisted Tale of Tiki Iron.

[00:59:30] This one right here is important.

[00:59:33] Because it has the original name for werewolf skin.

[00:59:37] Which was, I Want to Be a Werewolf for Halloween.

[00:59:40] Oh, yeah.

[00:59:41] That's right.

[00:59:42] Yep.

[00:59:43] And then...

[00:59:44] I'm glad they chose werewolf skin.

[00:59:46] It's so long.

[00:59:47] I Want to Be a Werewolf for Halloween.

[00:59:50] That's a long-ass title.

[00:59:52] Title?

[00:59:53] Well, it's not even the fact that it's a long title.

[00:59:54] It's just not catching.

[00:59:57] I don't think Skims' art would have been the same.

[00:59:59] When you look at the other titles, like The Haunted Mask and things like that, Halloween stories.

[01:00:04] I mean, like, okay, that makes you want to read it.

[01:00:06] But that's like me just telling my friend, hey, I want to be a werewolf for Halloween.

[01:00:12] That's not catching whatsoever.

[01:00:15] It's like Stein.

[01:00:16] Werewolf skin?

[01:00:17] Okay.

[01:00:18] You got my attention with werewolf skin.

[01:00:20] Yeah.

[01:00:21] It's like he was getting to stay with his titles.

[01:00:24] He's like, oh, God, I've done 60 of these now.

[01:00:26] What do I name this thing?

[01:00:29] So, right here.

[01:00:30] So, it has a new, this was a different one that had werewolf skin on there.

[01:00:35] And it actually advertises a different TV Presents book.

[01:00:39] This one, Attack of the Jack-o-lanterns.

[01:00:41] That one has Attack of the Jack-o-lanterns.

[01:00:44] In October.

[01:00:45] That makes sense to be October, having Jack-o-lanterns TV book.

[01:00:48] I live in your basement and Zapped in space.

[01:00:51] Yeah, go-anterns.

[01:00:53] And then here.

[01:00:54] Oh, the last one with the OG books.

[01:00:57] Yep.

[01:00:58] And Calling All Creeps and Lost in Stink-Eye Swamp.

[01:01:02] Here we start with the GYG ones.

[01:01:05] My ex's name.

[01:01:08] We don't need to see these either.

[01:01:10] You used to tell people all the time, this is Lost in Stink-Eye Swamp.

[01:01:12] And they'd be like, what?

[01:01:13] Yeah.

[01:01:14] Well, the thing is my ex-girlfriend's name, man.

[01:01:17] They started looking like Lost in Stink-Eye Swamp all the time.

[01:01:21] Are you done?

[01:01:23] You should have called it Lost in Pink-Eye Swamp.

[01:01:25] Fine, I guess.

[01:01:27] You know what?

[01:01:28] You should have called it Lost in Pink-Eye Swamp.

[01:01:30] Oh, my God.

[01:01:31] The opening title.

[01:01:33] Okay, so have you guys ever watched, have you guys ever watched Row Models with Paul Rudd?

[01:01:39] Yeah.

[01:01:39] And I can't remember the dude's name.

[01:01:40] He played the nerd in that one.

[01:01:43] Who did the live role-playing stuff.

[01:01:46] But when he got him to say, whispering eye.

[01:01:49] Tell him you missed your whispering eye.

[01:01:51] And your whispering eye.

[01:01:56] Anyway.

[01:01:58] I'll think about it.

[01:01:58] You know what I just imagined, though?

[01:02:00] Like, if they named it Lost in Pink-Eye Swamp, it would have been like, the opening line would have been like,

[01:02:07] Zach is a huge comic book nerd.

[01:02:10] Oh, my God.

[01:02:13] It's a bad snack.

[01:02:15] Shut up.

[01:02:20] It would happen to be fishy around here.

[01:02:22] Okay, we're moving on now.

[01:02:24] So give yourself goosebumps.

[01:02:26] So they started looking like the OG one, but then they moved on to doing almost looking

[01:02:32] like the covers of the GYGs.

[01:02:34] And then they have, of course, they would advertise different endings that you could

[01:02:38] get.

[01:02:39] Now, again, they're pretty cut and dry with the others.

[01:02:43] Yeah, skip them.

[01:02:44] So we get to the epic white era.

[01:02:49] So once we got to the Craig White era, they changed up.

[01:02:52] I'm sorry, but that just looks nicer than those other boring ones.

[01:02:57] Yeah, that one's kind of bland.

[01:03:04] This one pops a little bit and gets your attention.

[01:03:07] This one's kind of not that great.

[01:03:11] No, I think it's because they took away like, they had a little like bubble.

[01:03:16] Yeah.

[01:03:16] That says choose wisely and danger at every turn.

[01:03:19] And that other one, they just they took out a lot of stuff.

[01:03:22] Well, they also put the title down here, like on the cover here.

[01:03:27] They would, you know, put it right here, just like all the others.

[01:03:30] You fill out that empty space and then, you know, skip it.

[01:03:39] Yeah, they pop.

[01:03:40] They pop in.

[01:03:43] Pop in.

[01:03:43] Pop in.

[01:03:44] All the way to the last book.

[01:03:46] Wisdom.

[01:03:47] I think so.

[01:03:49] Oh, we'll get here.

[01:03:50] So we're here at return to terror tower.

[01:03:53] It says the super sequel to GB 27, a night in terror tower.

[01:03:56] Now an interactive adventure starring Eddie Sue and you.

[01:04:00] That right.

[01:04:01] You see, and you.

[01:04:04] What is that?

[01:04:04] We're going to do a, we should do a table read with that book and get Catherine short

[01:04:09] back on.

[01:04:10] Hopefully we can get Corey's MBA and then we can play the parts of the you.

[01:04:15] That's really funny.

[01:04:17] That's her name.

[01:04:18] It's just like you.

[01:04:19] That's, that's actually my name.

[01:04:22] Oh, these are people like that.

[01:04:24] So here.

[01:04:24] Rush hour.

[01:04:25] There.

[01:04:27] Now we're at goosebumps presents.

[01:04:29] This one is for a cuckoo clock of doom.

[01:04:32] Again.

[01:04:34] The cool.

[01:04:35] Then they changed it up for welcome to camp nightmare.

[01:04:39] Yeah.

[01:04:41] Standard boring altogether.

[01:04:43] Yeah.

[01:04:43] I was going to say, these are kind of bland.

[01:04:45] I'm actually kind of surprised.

[01:04:46] They're this bland.

[01:04:47] Did they change later?

[01:04:49] Like when we get to like the black.

[01:04:51] Well, yeah, these are a little different.

[01:04:52] This is when we got to like the new format for those books, but they're still not that crazy.

[01:04:59] Oh, that's good right there.

[01:05:01] Now.

[01:05:02] Awesome.

[01:05:02] Good stuff.

[01:05:03] This is the teaser images for goosebumps series.

[01:05:07] Two thousand serious.

[01:05:08] Two thousand just absolutely nailed it.

[01:05:11] Like they went all out.

[01:05:13] I want a poster of that right there.

[01:05:14] Just that.

[01:05:15] I don't need like the whole cat even like that little teaser thing right there is actually

[01:05:20] really good.

[01:05:21] Whoever designed imagine like you're reading.

[01:05:23] I don't know, wait.

[01:05:25] Curse of camp cold lake or something.

[01:05:26] I'm assuming that's when this started popping up and you see just this like nothing else.

[01:05:31] You just see this eye that little it's not inside your closet coming December 1997.

[01:05:37] Like just a little G splat in the corner.

[01:05:39] Like not under your bed.

[01:05:41] That one's cool.

[01:05:42] I like that too.

[01:05:43] Just the mouth.

[01:05:44] I think it was right before the series premiered.

[01:05:48] Look, they were giving you like a different.

[01:05:50] It was good.

[01:05:51] Yeah.

[01:05:51] I gave you a different panel.

[01:05:52] Yeah.

[01:05:53] Cover.

[01:05:54] Reach one.

[01:05:54] Then they did the, they did this on the VHS for, uh, what was it?

[01:06:01] Welcome to dead house where they basically took these, did a video version of it with Tony

[01:06:05] J's voice.

[01:06:06] That was a great.

[01:06:07] Yeah.

[01:06:07] I played so.

[01:06:09] And, Oh, this is different sneak preview.

[01:06:12] I think this was for, uh, at the end of monster blood four.

[01:06:15] Uh, cause it has a sneak preview of cry.

[01:06:17] The cat in there.

[01:06:19] I remember like being so excited for series 2000.

[01:06:23] Like, and I loved, I honestly love cry.

[01:06:26] The cat.

[01:06:26] And I couldn't believe like when we went saw Stein, he was like, Oh, it was terrible.

[01:06:31] That was terrible.

[01:06:32] That was terrible.

[01:06:33] Yeah.

[01:06:34] It was his favorite.

[01:06:35] It was his favorite.

[01:06:35] It was his favorite.

[01:06:36] It was monster blood for how you ended the original 62.

[01:06:39] That was terrible.

[01:06:40] And I'm guessing that's why he was remembering.

[01:06:42] Cry the cat was originally considered to be the final OG book, but then it was turned

[01:06:46] into the first book for series.

[01:06:48] Yeah.

[01:06:49] So, so maybe he was just thinking of monster blood for instead of cry the cat.

[01:06:52] But personally though, when he said that, I was like, I was a little, I was a little

[01:06:56] heartbroken.

[01:06:57] I do prefer though.

[01:06:58] Cry the cat being the start of a new series rather than being the last book in the OG series.

[01:07:04] Yeah, I agree.

[01:07:05] I mean, it was fine either way for me at the time, but I mean, for sure.

[01:07:09] Like I now for sure it's better as a start of a new series.

[01:07:14] Cause I felt it was a strong book.

[01:07:15] It is.

[01:07:17] And I like, I think that was a good start with, uh, the series 2000.

[01:07:23] So opposed to what they did for the OG series, but it was just a little blurb here.

[01:07:28] They tease the cover art with that sort of like, just little blurb of the plot.

[01:07:34] I feel like it just made it look more interesting and like you had to see what was going to be

[01:07:39] next.

[01:07:40] Um, so that was ingenious.

[01:07:42] So you had this is creature feet, uh, creature teacher.

[01:07:47] She's not going to give you the teacher feature.

[01:07:48] He's not going to give you a bad grade.

[01:07:50] She's going to eat you.

[01:07:52] That is cool.

[01:07:53] I mean, that's right.

[01:07:55] I like this one.

[01:07:56] Look out a slimy.

[01:07:58] To death.

[01:08:00] That's what you do.

[01:08:01] It is.

[01:08:03] The series 2000 books are just beautiful to look at inside and out.

[01:08:07] Like they are pretty.

[01:08:09] Yeah.

[01:08:10] Now this one is really dark.

[01:08:12] They should have.

[01:08:14] Yeah.

[01:08:14] Yeah.

[01:08:15] Bit on the saturation and contrast and whatnot.

[01:08:18] Literally just got hot.

[01:08:19] Not nuts.

[01:08:20] I don't know.

[01:08:21] This is the original version, right?

[01:08:23] Like not just a really dark scanned copy of it.

[01:08:26] Right.

[01:08:27] This is actually how it looked.

[01:08:28] No, it actually is that dark in the, uh, I'd have to go back and look at it again.

[01:08:32] It's been a long time, but yeah.

[01:08:34] Yeah.

[01:08:35] Yeah.

[01:08:36] Yeah.

[01:08:36] Definitely need to change those colors up.

[01:08:38] Now.

[01:08:39] I love this cup, this barb here.

[01:08:41] Look in the mirror.

[01:08:42] You're not the only one out there with your face.

[01:08:44] That is haunting.

[01:08:47] It's let's get invisible sequel.

[01:08:49] Yeah.

[01:08:50] It's a really great cover too.

[01:08:52] It is.

[01:08:53] Uh, it's eerie.

[01:08:55] This one is kind of okay.

[01:08:58] The book was terrible, but I liked the cover.

[01:09:01] Cover is good.

[01:09:02] That's a good book.

[01:09:03] Freikamp is one of the underrated goosebump books.

[01:09:05] Mm-hmm .

[01:09:06] It's on like a lot of underrated lists.

[01:09:07] It's a great book.

[01:09:09] Freikamp wasn't bad.

[01:09:12] He, we, we liked our each other is.

[01:09:14] Isn't that book and cover favorite?

[01:09:16] One of Austin's favorite.

[01:09:17] I think so.

[01:09:18] Yeah.

[01:09:19] Uh, I think that is, well, at least he's got a giant print of it, uh, on his wall.

[01:09:25] I remember in some of his videos, he's got it behind him.

[01:09:27] Yeah.

[01:09:28] Well, and I just like that this one is one that's not supernatural at all.

[01:09:32] It's just a kid trying to, you know, try to be brave and going through a bunch of like

[01:09:37] fear factor stuff almost like mostly just dares and stuff like that, but there's no ghost.

[01:09:42] There's no monsters or anything like that.

[01:09:45] Uh, which is surprising, uh, to be honest, cause like, that's a rare thing for Stein.

[01:09:53] But I mean, sometimes, you know, life is just scary enough without supernatural stuff.

[01:09:58] Oh no, it's way scarier.

[01:10:00] It's funny.

[01:10:00] Cause like when you, when you watch some of these like ghost shows and even the, the fictional ones, like it cracks me up.

[01:10:07] They're like, people are always way scarier than the monster in the dark.

[01:10:12] No, I agree.

[01:10:14] People are way scarier.

[01:10:17] And we have, uh, I dunno, I don't like this one because they put the, the text in the middle and it's all glowing.

[01:10:25] Yeah.

[01:10:26] I'm with you on that.

[01:10:27] You know what?

[01:10:27] They could have just not had the text in the middle.

[01:10:30] Yeah.

[01:10:31] Like I could have just honestly put the really, and the title and just had the artwork speak for itself.

[01:10:39] Now this one's cool.

[01:10:41] This one's a parody of the got milk ads.

[01:10:43] This has got brain juice.

[01:10:44] Go ahead.

[01:10:45] Everywhere back then.

[01:10:46] Um, well, I remember the attack of the graveyard ghouls was one of the first goosebumps books I ever like actually read through.

[01:10:55] And I remembered this ad in particular in the back of the book that and a few others that, uh, you know, with this ultimate goosebumps tapes and, uh, one for the live on stage show, which we'll get to in a second.

[01:11:07] Yeah.

[01:11:08] Rain juice.

[01:11:09] Uh, this one's all right.

[01:11:11] It seems like there's a lot of big though back then.

[01:11:14] Yeah.

[01:11:15] Yeah.

[01:11:16] Like this would have been the holy shit.

[01:11:18] We're getting a sequel.

[01:11:18] Like I can imagine when this got like announced people would have been like, Oh my God.

[01:11:25] I think this one just gives like not enough of the picture.

[01:11:29] Yeah.

[01:11:30] I just liked when they were too much like when they do it really vague, but you know, just

[01:11:36] by the cover, it's probably going to be a good book.

[01:11:38] Cause like the other ones didn't have like the whole back word of the book to tell you

[01:11:44] what it's about, but you still want to read it.

[01:11:46] Exactly.

[01:11:48] And I think this was the last actual like, um, tease, uh, print ad in the Goosebumps series

[01:11:55] 2000.

[01:11:56] After that, they just started putting the list of books.

[01:11:59] Um, and then you were allowed to just read the.

[01:12:03] Next up, we have a Goosebumps graphics, uh, print ad.

[01:12:07] So this was graphics, man.

[01:12:09] That boring.

[01:12:10] Yeah.

[01:12:11] Well, you got the little, uh, deep trouble monster down at the bottom there, but it's

[01:12:15] kind of obscured by the text.

[01:12:17] Don't even need to look at anything past 2000.

[01:12:19] It's all good.

[01:12:22] Literally.

[01:12:23] I don't know.

[01:12:24] It's kind of neat.

[01:12:25] They kept that series 2000 text though.

[01:12:27] Like the warped logo.

[01:12:30] Oh, we got another contest here.

[01:12:32] Find the secret scare.

[01:12:34] Read if you dare the Goosebumps secret scare sweepstakes.

[01:12:37] You are a winner.

[01:12:38] If you find the phrase secret scare hidden somewhere inside this book, your prize will

[01:12:43] be revealed.

[01:12:44] What does it say?

[01:12:45] Five grand prize winners and all expense paid trip for you to meet and have dinner with

[01:12:49] author RL Stein plus a signed copy of it came from Ohio.

[01:12:54] 100 first place winners.

[01:12:56] So wait, so you had a grand prize and first place.

[01:12:58] I guess it was five of the hundred first place.

[01:13:01] First place.

[01:13:02] You just getting a copy of the book.

[01:13:03] That's it.

[01:13:04] Yep.

[01:13:05] You get us basically.

[01:13:07] You're a second.

[01:13:09] Yeah.

[01:13:10] And then a hundred second prize winners got a CD ROM from Dreamworks and a Goosebumps

[01:13:16] video cassette plus a signed copy of it came from Ohio.

[01:13:20] They got the signed book and they basically got the game.

[01:13:23] Yeah.

[01:13:24] Then we have this was for playing now with a for a cruise vacation with RL Stein, the Goosebumps

[01:13:29] guy.

[01:13:32] August 31st, September 7th, 1998.

[01:13:36] A land and sea adventure.

[01:13:37] So cool.

[01:13:38] It will give you the chills.

[01:13:40] I just like the RL Stein, the Goosebumps guy.

[01:13:43] It's almost like Bill Nye.

[01:13:46] Except it's RL Stein.

[01:13:48] RL Stein, the Goosebumps guy.

[01:13:52] Meet RL Stein.

[01:13:53] Enter the sale to SARS.

[01:13:54] RL Stein, the Goosebumps guy.

[01:13:58] Stein, Stein, Stein, Stein.

[01:14:00] I love that.

[01:14:02] Stein, Stein, Stein, Stein.

[01:14:04] And then you just have like, you know how Bill Nye is flying like all of the place in

[01:14:08] that intro.

[01:14:09] It's just replacing with RL Stein.

[01:14:11] I love when they did all this with the Disney stuff because they had rules.

[01:14:18] Yeah.

[01:14:19] And then you have the sale to start sweepstakes.

[01:14:21] You can win a vacation to Disney World and sail with RL Stein on a sale with the stars.

[01:14:26] Disney cruise.

[01:14:29] Yeah, we have this one.

[01:14:31] The Goosebumps thousand creep stakes contest.

[01:14:35] RL Stein has started a scary new story to finish it.

[01:14:39] When it's Steak and Rat.

[01:14:41] When it's Steak and Rat.

[01:14:41] Yeah, Steak and Rat.

[01:14:42] Well, it says you can win a trip to one of the scariest cities in the USA.

[01:14:48] Here's what you do.

[01:14:49] New York.

[01:14:50] Use RL Stein's original story starter on the next page and finish the story on your own.

[01:14:57] Look for the two word clues each month throughout the summer.

[01:15:01] Use these words in your continuing story.

[01:15:03] Your story should be no longer than three pages and should include all of the special word clues.

[01:15:10] At the end of the summer, send it to RL Stein and see if you win big.

[01:15:13] So grand prizes.

[01:15:16] What is it?

[01:15:16] Grand prize winner will be awarded a scary, a trip to scary New Orleans to visit creepy graveyard,

[01:15:23] spooky mansions and scary swamps.

[01:15:25] A DreamWorks Goosebumps CD-ROM and a signed copy of it came from Ohio.

[01:15:30] 25 first prize winners got the CD-ROM and the book and then 52nd prize got the signed book.

[01:15:37] What is it?

[01:15:37] What is it?

[01:15:38] So you got a bacon rat in there.

[01:15:39] So I would have Michael just left eat steak.

[01:15:43] It was favorite meal, but then he brought home that steaks.

[01:15:47] Yeah.

[01:15:48] And he thought that looks good too.

[01:15:50] I would just say I, I cooked a rat and ate rat steak.

[01:15:54] You know, that makes me think of a, if you've never seen it, watch it.

[01:15:58] It's called demolition man and Sylvester Stallone.

[01:16:02] And when he goes to, uh, the, I guess the sewer of the new age world at that time, that's where the rebels and refugees are living at.

[01:16:13] And it's the long, it's a burger.

[01:16:15] He's like, Oh, it's the best burger I've had in years.

[01:16:17] And like, I don't know if you want to eat that.

[01:16:19] Like, well, what's wrong with these?

[01:16:21] Like, you see any cows around here?

[01:16:23] Like, uh, he's like, so he asked the lady what it is and it's Rata.

[01:16:28] It's a rat burger.

[01:16:30] He's the rest of it.

[01:16:32] Well, I'm just saying it's a rat burger.

[01:16:34] Rat milk from the Simpsons.

[01:16:37] I'm curious what the story starts.

[01:16:40] They like the rats, but they don't like the rats milk.

[01:16:44] Something evil, something cruel.

[01:16:46] My cousin Justin warned me to stay away from uncle Clyde shed.

[01:16:50] I mean it.

[01:16:50] He said, don't go in there.

[01:16:52] Whatever you do.

[01:16:52] I knew this had to be another of Justin's, Justin's dumb jokes.

[01:16:57] So I waited until it got dark.

[01:16:59] Then I crept out into the shed.

[01:17:00] I wish I never opened that door, but I did.

[01:17:03] And now I'll never be the same because this is what I found.

[01:17:06] RL Stein.

[01:17:07] Ah, rat steaks.

[01:17:11] Smoke them.

[01:17:12] Smoking rat snake steaks.

[01:17:14] Rat snakes.

[01:17:15] Rat snakes.

[01:17:17] Rat snakes.

[01:17:18] Rat snake steaks.

[01:17:19] So then we got, oh, speaking of snakes.

[01:17:23] Iron A.

[01:17:23] We have.

[01:17:24] Iron A.

[01:17:25] And snake.

[01:17:27] Oh, another one.

[01:17:29] And then this one is spider and hammer.

[01:17:33] Well, that's easy.

[01:17:35] People would do a hammer to that spider.

[01:17:37] Spider with a hammer.

[01:17:39] Mosquito claw.

[01:17:39] Claw and mosquito.

[01:17:41] As long as it's not the jumping spiders, because those things are cute as fuck.

[01:17:46] So you had to make a story with all eight of those words in it.

[01:17:51] So I wonder who won that.

[01:17:53] I would love to know the story when it came out to be.

[01:17:57] Yeah, cool.

[01:17:57] Cool.

[01:17:58] Oh, this is interesting.

[01:18:00] Calling all creeps.

[01:18:02] Oops, we mean critics.

[01:18:03] We're rolling out the dead carpet for your favorite Goosebumps TV episodes of all time.

[01:18:08] Fill out this ballot and enter your picks.

[01:18:11] Hey, get your finger out of your nose for the TV.

[01:18:15] The Goosebumps TV crawl of fame.

[01:18:18] I saw this one.

[01:18:20] Best performance by a monster.

[01:18:22] Best fright sight.

[01:18:23] Best screenplay.

[01:18:25] And best performance by an animal.

[01:18:28] So, well, hold on.

[01:18:30] So best performance by a monster.

[01:18:32] Werewolf of Fever Swamp.

[01:18:33] Slappy.

[01:18:34] Scarecrow.

[01:18:34] Mr. Mortman.

[01:18:36] Best performance by an animal.

[01:18:38] Puddles.

[01:18:39] You could put Haunted Mask for other.

[01:18:41] I would put Haunted Mask.

[01:18:42] Yes.

[01:18:43] Scary Dogs and Rip the Cat.

[01:18:45] What?

[01:18:46] Best Fright Sight.

[01:18:48] Horrorland.

[01:18:49] Terror Tower.

[01:18:49] Camp Nightmare.

[01:18:50] Fever Swamp.

[01:18:52] Best screenplay.

[01:18:53] Night in Terror Tower.

[01:18:55] Night of the Living Dummy.

[01:18:56] Werewolf of Fever Swamp.

[01:18:57] And Welcome to Camp Nightmare.

[01:18:59] Other on all of them, you would put Haunted Mask.

[01:19:01] Haunted Mask.

[01:19:02] Carly Beth.

[01:19:03] Yeah.

[01:19:04] I'm curious because this is...

[01:19:06] I don't know.

[01:19:07] The animal one.

[01:19:10] I'd put the dog from Haunted Mask 2.

[01:19:14] Well, what's interesting is that this is supposedly for the TV show, but they have cuddles and...

[01:19:23] I saw that.

[01:19:23] Yeah.

[01:19:24] There's no cuddles.

[01:19:25] I don't recall cuddles being in the show.

[01:19:40] Bullshit.

[01:19:40] I mean, this is like 90, 98.

[01:19:43] What year does it say at the bottom?

[01:19:45] Usually they had a year, but...

[01:19:47] 98?

[01:19:48] 97?

[01:19:49] Late in the middle?

[01:19:51] I think it says 99.

[01:19:52] Well, yeah.

[01:19:52] It says responses will be received by September 30th, 1999.

[01:19:58] Whoa.

[01:19:59] So, yeah.

[01:20:00] We'll be posting on the Goosebumps website in 1999 in October.

[01:20:03] So, this was after the series was canceled.

[01:20:07] It's gotta be in the back of a series.

[01:20:08] Yeah.

[01:20:10] Must be.

[01:20:11] I mean, maybe, but I don't recall seeing this.

[01:20:13] So, here we have a...

[01:20:15] You know, we'll kind of skip through these two, but...

[01:20:18] These were the listings for all the Goosebumps books.

[01:20:22] That's first prints in the first couple books.

[01:20:24] That's literally...

[01:20:25] New series.

[01:20:27] That would be book number...

[01:20:28] This would be...

[01:20:29] Wait.

[01:20:29] Monsters of Blood, Cities and Death.

[01:20:31] So, this would be book number five.

[01:20:35] This would be in the back of book five.

[01:20:37] I think so, yeah.

[01:20:38] This would be the back of Curse of the Mummy's Tomb.

[01:20:41] It says new series.

[01:20:43] That is surreal.

[01:20:45] Haunted House is terrifying.

[01:20:46] Look at all that logo is.

[01:20:48] Weird habit.

[01:20:48] It's really dang.

[01:20:49] It's like when you look at the back of Welcome to Deadhouse,

[01:20:51] there is nothing in the back of a first print.

[01:20:54] It's just a book of, like, Apple books.

[01:20:56] Yeah.

[01:20:57] Like, books from Apple Fiction.

[01:20:58] So, like, Clue and stuff like that.

[01:21:02] My only stat in the basement was when I just added this in.

[01:21:06] Well, and as we keep going...

[01:21:07] That's the back of Welcome to the Dummy.

[01:21:09] That's the back of...

[01:21:10] Well, that'd be the back of, like...

[01:21:11] Careful what you wish for, it looks like.

[01:21:13] 12, let me...

[01:21:14] Werewolf of Fever Swamp.

[01:21:16] They would appear in every book.

[01:21:19] Like, Get Goosebumps by R.L. Stine now.

[01:21:22] And then you could cut out...

[01:21:24] Mark which ones you want, mail it in, and get those books in the mail.

[01:21:30] And submit a book.

[01:21:31] Or money order.

[01:21:33] Grew and grew.

[01:21:34] Eventually it had to take up two pages.

[01:21:38] Had them for other series too.

[01:21:40] Give yourself Goosebumps.

[01:21:45] And then series 2000.

[01:21:47] That just looks so much cooler.

[01:21:49] It does.

[01:21:50] 3.99 each.

[01:21:52] Goosebumps presents.

[01:21:54] Look at that.

[01:21:55] It went all the way up.

[01:21:56] Alling all creeps.

[01:21:57] You could have gotten that for 3.99.

[01:21:59] I would have ordered 20.

[01:22:02] Exactly.

[01:22:03] If only we knew then.

[01:22:05] What we know now.

[01:22:07] Exactly.

[01:22:08] God, you would have ordered so many.

[01:22:09] I would have ordered like 50 lawn gnomes, 50 creeps, 50 jack-o-lanterns.

[01:22:14] And I would have just like sold...

[01:22:16] I would have just sold one when I needed money.

[01:22:18] I would have been like, I need money.

[01:22:19] I'm gonna sell one.

[01:22:20] Which was...

[01:22:21] Here, they started putting not only the OG, but a bunch of other stuff.

[01:22:27] The 1996 calendar.

[01:22:28] The Tales to Give You Goosebumps books.

[01:22:32] Monster edition.

[01:22:34] Collector's caps.

[01:22:35] How many kids do you reckon sent these in and then got sent the wrong thing back?

[01:22:39] Like they ordered a collector's cap that got sent like one of the board games or something.

[01:22:43] I mean, I would be like stoked if that happened because that's more expensive.

[01:22:48] Yeah.

[01:22:49] But like the...

[01:22:50] I don't know.

[01:22:51] But you gotta think like everything being mailed at the time.

[01:22:53] I mean, there wasn't like instant buy on there.

[01:22:56] So, I mean, the process was long.

[01:22:58] So...

[01:22:59] I mean, take a look at this.

[01:23:00] You really couldn't send back to exchange your item.

[01:23:02] Yeah.

[01:23:03] All 62 books and like the lettering is so small at this point.

[01:23:07] Plus all this other stuff too.

[01:23:09] Like it's just...

[01:23:09] It was insane.

[01:23:11] A frightfully good offer.

[01:23:12] Goosebumps.

[01:23:13] Get $2 back when you buy two Goosebumps books.

[01:23:16] Offer good on books one through 40 only.

[01:23:19] Oh!

[01:23:20] Oh!

[01:23:20] I was gonna say, damn, I would have done that for all the TV books.

[01:23:24] Ha ha ha!

[01:23:25] Go to the order 2, 2, 2, 2.

[01:23:27] Oh, here we go.

[01:23:28] We got Goosebumps on the web.

[01:23:30] Log on for scares.

[01:23:31] Check out our episode on the Goosebumps website, by the way.

[01:23:34] I believe it was our 34th episode.

[01:23:36] It was me, Bjorn and Tyler Young from 90's Kids Throwbacks.

[01:23:40] We did a complete look through the old Goosebumps website.

[01:23:45] That was a real...

[01:23:47] Ghost of Goosebumps.

[01:23:48] Ghost of Goosebumps.

[01:23:49] I love that.

[01:23:49] This is what the Headless Halloween one should have looked like.

[01:23:53] The, you know, teasing the book.

[01:23:55] It should have just looked like this.

[01:23:57] Yeah.

[01:23:59] No, I got it.

[01:24:00] The Headless Halloween one is such an iconic cover.

[01:24:02] It really is.

[01:24:03] Every time I look at it, I'm like, that's iconic.

[01:24:06] Tease advertisement stuff.

[01:24:07] It was made for that.

[01:24:10] Oh, here we go.

[01:24:11] We got Goosebumps live on stage.

[01:24:15] Three never before seen frightfully fun filled stories

[01:24:18] and one fantastic live show that will blow your mind.

[01:24:21] Goosebumps live on stage.

[01:24:24] Almost looks like the ghost is about to flip them off.

[01:24:26] You know what I mean?

[01:24:27] Like reaching down.

[01:24:28] It's like...

[01:24:31] Do you remember Slappy?

[01:24:32] They used the TV Slappy.

[01:24:34] Yeah, yeah, yeah, you.

[01:24:35] Fuck you.

[01:24:36] For the host of that.

[01:24:37] I don't even remember, but they used the TV Slappy for the host of that.

[01:24:40] Mm-hmm.

[01:24:41] Come with me to a place where creepy things crawl!

[01:24:44] Oh, yeah.

[01:24:44] That was the VHS promo on Ultimate.

[01:24:47] I know.

[01:24:48] It was so cool.

[01:24:51] Ooh, what is this?

[01:24:54] That's just a Kinkala.

[01:24:55] Like they just...

[01:24:56] It's literally just Kinkala.

[01:24:58] The same as the one earlier.

[01:25:00] I'm curious what book it was in.

[01:25:03] Dude, I want that tattooed on me.

[01:25:05] Like that's just such a cool tattoo design.

[01:25:08] I want it.

[01:25:09] Oh, you know what I think this was for?

[01:25:11] I think this was a UK one.

[01:25:13] Damn, they had it in color, son!

[01:25:15] Yeah.

[01:25:16] What the hell?

[01:25:18] That was bullshit.

[01:25:21] Well, all those foreign countries got all the good shit.

[01:25:25] They're...

[01:25:25] Remember, theirs were different with the bubbles.

[01:25:27] Like they used Tim's art.

[01:25:29] They eventually started using Tim's art, but they still had the bubbles around the bottom.

[01:25:33] And they would have had the color pictures in the back, I guess.

[01:25:36] Yeah.

[01:25:36] I don't understand the bubble thing they were doing.

[01:25:39] I do...

[01:25:39] I do want to...

[01:25:40] I must admit, I do want to collect all the Series 2000 books from the UK.

[01:25:45] Just to have a set.

[01:25:47] I've only got like maybe 12 of them.

[01:25:50] And they're ones that I've just found randomly over the years.

[01:25:53] Just random finds.

[01:25:55] Mm-hmm.

[01:25:56] Well, that was the end of what we could find on the Goosebumps wiki

[01:26:00] in terms of the back of the book advertisements.

[01:26:02] Just, you know, showing off all the different Goosebumps stuff

[01:26:06] that you could get at the time.

[01:26:07] I mean, it was...

[01:26:08] Again, as we always say, Goosebumps was everywhere in the 90s.

[01:26:12] So, especially in those later series books,

[01:26:14] you just go to the end and you just see page after page of like,

[01:26:19] upcoming Goosebumps things.

[01:26:20] Like, you had the upcoming books, you had the VHS tapes,

[01:26:24] you had the TV show, merchandise, the live shows, whatever...

[01:26:29] Whatever it was.

[01:26:30] It was...

[01:26:31] It was a good time to be alive.

[01:26:34] Definitely.

[01:26:35] It was when things just felt normal.

[01:26:40] Yes.

[01:26:41] Facts.

[01:26:42] The 90s were peak, peak, peak, peak era.

[01:26:45] Let me tell you.

[01:26:46] So I just wanted to show a few more.

[01:26:49] So we mostly focused on the 90s advertisements today,

[01:26:52] but I do want to show a few others from some recent books.

[01:26:56] Not the super recent, but just some ones I found pretty interesting.

[01:27:00] So going into the 2004 reference really quick,

[01:27:04] I figured this would be a good one to start with.

[01:27:08] Some of these came out 2004.

[01:27:10] Some of them came closer to when Horrorland came out.

[01:27:12] So I guess to get a little bit of that Brandon Dorman action in there,

[01:27:16] some of the first advertisements for the Horrorland series coming out were pretty neat.

[01:27:21] Because they would put the Horrorland books next to the classic Goosebumps.

[01:27:27] So it was like the side by side of, oh, here's Night of the Living Dummy,

[01:27:31] and then here's Revenge of the Living Dummy coming out.

[01:27:33] I see.

[01:27:35] Yeah.

[01:27:35] It's getting so hot.

[01:27:37] It's getting so hot.

[01:27:37] The new and the old at the time.

[01:27:41] And then right here, you had Need More Thrill, Get Goosebumps.

[01:27:46] So you had video games, play, watch the new DVDs, and listen.

[01:27:53] I never saw an audiobook on the shelf.

[01:27:55] I never saw one of those on the shelf.

[01:27:57] I only had one Horrorland one, and that was Say Cheese and Die Screaming.

[01:28:03] Wow.

[01:28:04] That's the only one.

[01:28:04] You know what?

[01:28:05] You don't have to buy them all separately.

[01:28:07] They brought out a box set with all of them.

[01:28:09] I don't know if you saw that, but there's, I just, I just couldn't be bothered buying them

[01:28:13] all for like 20 bucks each when I could just buy the box set for like 100.

[01:28:17] And it had all of them.

[01:28:18] The only one I got separate was Revenge of the Living Dummy, obviously, for reasons.

[01:28:21] But yeah.

[01:28:22] Right here, they would advertise a bunch of random reprinted books coming out.

[01:28:26] It says, thrills and chills make your skin crawl.

[01:28:29] Don't you want to collect them all?

[01:28:31] I do.

[01:28:34] Taking a look at others.

[01:28:37] They would still continue the prospect of lists.

[01:28:42] So like little checkbox, goosebumps, and like...

[01:28:49] But they're mostly keeping track of the reprints and they're also not in order.

[01:28:53] They're in alphabetical order.

[01:28:55] So it's like Abominable Snowman, Burt of the Ghost, Huckoo Clock of Doom, Curse the Mummy's Tomb.

[01:29:01] I didn't even have numbers on them.

[01:29:03] And then we have right here.

[01:29:06] Would you dare visit a place that ghost mummies, vampires and other creepy creatures call home?

[01:29:11] Ghoulish games, beastly books, spooky stories, the monster mob activities, author info and more.

[01:29:18] Goosebumps, scholastic.com slash goosebumps.

[01:29:21] Once you're there, you may never come back.

[01:29:25] Good.

[01:29:26] I want to go there and never come back.

[01:29:28] If we went to some place where it's just filled with goosebumps, monsters, I was like, dude, why would I want to leave?

[01:29:32] I'd hang out with Snappy, be his best friend.

[01:29:34] That's like people who are like, oh, I was scared of a lot of masks after reading the book or watching the episode.

[01:29:39] I'm like, brood, I wanted it.

[01:29:41] I would embrace it.

[01:29:43] Let me have it, Carly Beth.

[01:29:44] You would live with the shopkeeper.

[01:29:45] I would wear it.

[01:29:47] You would live with the shopkeeper.

[01:29:49] They were still in 2005, continuing being able to send in a mail order to buy goosebumps books and have them shipped to you.

[01:29:59] See, scholastic was still doing that.

[01:30:02] They stopped it once Farmerland came around because it was, I guess, not cool anymore.

[01:30:08] And then we have-

[01:30:09] Online kind of took over at that point where you could just-

[01:30:12] That's cool because that's when the DVDs first came out.

[01:30:15] They were the first four.

[01:30:16] So we covered the VHS tapes.

[01:30:18] The reprints had the DVDs that were coming out at the time.

[01:30:22] It says-

[01:30:22] Haunted Mask 2 though, why didn't they do Haunted Mask 1?

[01:30:24] I still don't get it.

[01:30:26] I don't know, man.

[01:30:27] But they had Haunted Mask 2, Night of the Living Dummy 3.

[01:30:30] Okay.

[01:30:31] They had a DVD which stores so much more space.

[01:30:35] So it's like, why didn't they just do Haunted Mask 1 and 2?

[01:30:38] Why didn't they just do Night of the Living Dummy 2, 3, and Bride?

[01:30:41] It's like, dude, you have a whole DVD.

[01:30:44] Like, I just don't understand.

[01:30:47] You've read the books, now own the thrills on DVD.

[01:30:50] Bring home the chills from four R.L. Stine classics.

[01:30:54] Come to DVD for the first time from 20th Century Fox.

[01:30:58] And then there was another advertisement for the DVDs.

[01:31:05] Here it is.

[01:31:06] Oh, then again, they did do-

[01:31:07] They did not only do the two and Bride and one.

[01:31:10] So here we have Cry the Cat, Deep Trouble, and How I Got My Shrunken Head.

[01:31:15] The one and only Series 2000 DVD.

[01:31:18] Yep.

[01:31:19] Bring home the excitement.

[01:31:21] It's kind of cool that we actually got like a-

[01:31:24] We actually have some media of Series 2000.

[01:31:27] Even if it is only two episodes.

[01:31:29] At least we have something.

[01:31:30] I just wish they did at least the first three, so we would have got Creature Teacher as well.

[01:31:35] As an episode.

[01:31:36] Cool.

[01:31:36] Like, had those three books at the very least.

[01:31:39] And then if they did Body Squeezers, they literally could have done a part one, part two, and just that's both books as one.

[01:31:45] Like, part one, part two.

[01:31:47] That's a two-parter right there.

[01:31:48] If they did.

[01:31:50] That's when we start deep diving into like what they should have done with the Disney Plus show.

[01:31:55] Yeah.

[01:31:56] If they wanted to get more adult, go into the books that were more weird towards like teenager-esque kids.

[01:32:04] The Series 2000 stuff.

[01:32:05] Yeah.

[01:32:06] One thing I do like that the modern books are still doing is they're still doing the tease for the next book at the end of the book.

[01:32:14] So right here, this is the classic Goosebumps reprint for Shocker on Shock Street.

[01:32:18] So here you also get a look at some of the other series just like the old days for Goosebumps Most Wanted, Goosebumps Horrorland, the classic Goosebumps, which was the first wave.

[01:32:34] And then since this was a movie era book, they had the brand new ones that were coming out on another page, all horrors.

[01:32:42] And then we have Goosebumps and Gasly Mischief Awaits, the website.

[01:32:48] That was the first tease of the movie, actually.

[01:32:50] The first movie poster tease was that.

[01:32:53] That was the first we ever got for the movie, like promoting it, was that little image.

[01:32:58] And I remember thinking, is that the poster?

[01:33:01] Like everyone thought that was going to be the poster, which is kind of cool because it's just slightly sitting in a movie theater like with a popcorn bucket.

[01:33:08] Like it's a simple one, but it's kind of cool.

[01:33:10] And then they gave us the one that was just like Disney, very Disney theme looking.

[01:33:16] Yeah, very much Disney theme looking.

[01:33:19] And finally, go into the Goosebumps movie novel.

[01:33:23] There's only one back of the book advertisement here, but it's interesting.

[01:33:27] It's for Goosebumps in the game on 3DS, which has an entirely different front cover than the final version.

[01:33:35] I always thought the movie novel had a terrible cover though, to be honest.

[01:33:38] It looks so like cut and paste.

[01:33:41] Like it looks so cut and paste, even though now it's like, you know, the UK movie cover movie novel was better.

[01:33:50] It was like the gold, but it was like, it was just like the actual image that was on like one of the DVDs.

[01:33:55] So it was at least didn't look so cut and paste.

[01:33:59] I love this, this picture of Arl Stein of Jack Black Arl Stein here.

[01:34:04] Yeah.

[01:34:07] Just like that.

[01:34:07] He's like, yeah.

[01:34:09] It's not as cool without all the fancy special effects there.

[01:34:14] Yeah.

[01:34:15] Yeah.

[01:34:16] So as I said, you know, as we hop into a new year, you know, we look back and we look forward.

[01:34:21] And the best part of being a Goosebumps fan is looking forward to all the new things that Goosebumps had to offer.

[01:34:27] And we still kind of do that now, you know, whenever there's new stuff coming out, whenever there's a new merchandise or whatever, we're always on the hunt to look for that stuff.

[01:34:37] And, you know, it's always, it was just better back in the nineties when they had books and VHS tapes and live shows and all that stuff right in the back of those books.

[01:34:47] But we wanted to take a little stroll down and take a look at them and see all that kind of stuff.

[01:34:55] But we hope you guys enjoyed and leave in the comments below.
